Lamentations 3
1 I am the man, that hath seene affliction in the rod of his indignation.
Ich bin ein elender Mann, der die Rute seines Grimmes sehen muß.
2 He hath ledde mee, and brought me into darkenes, but not to light.
Er hat mich geführt und lassen gehen in die Finsternis und nicht in Licht.
3 Surely he is turned against me: he turneth his hand against me all the day.
Er hat seine Hand gewendet wider mich und handelt gar anders mit mir für und für.
4 My flesh and my skinne hath he caused to waxe olde, and he hath broken my bones.
Er hat mir Fleisch und Haut alt gemacht und mein Gebein zerschlagen.
5 He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall, and labour.
Er hat mich verbaut und mich mit Galle und Mühe umgeben.
6 He hath set me in darke places, as they that be dead for euer.
Er hat mich in Finsternis gelegt wie die, so längst tot sind.
7 He hath hedged about mee, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chaines heauy.
Er hat mich vermauert, daß ich nicht heraus kann, und mich in harte Fesseln gelegt.
8 Also when I cry and showte, hee shutteth out my prayer.
Und wenn ich gleich schreie und rufe, so stopft er die Ohren zu vor meinem Gebet.
9 He hath stopped vp my wayes with hewen stone, and turned away my paths.
Er hat meinen Weg vermauert mit Werkstücken und meinen Steig umgekehrt.
10 He was vnto me as a beare lying in waite, and as a Lion in secret places.
Er hat auf mich gelauert wie ein Bär, wie ein Löwe im Verborgenen.
11 He hath stopped my wayes, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
Er läßt mich des Weges fehlen. Er hat mich zerstückt und zunichte gemacht.
12 He hath bent his bow and made me a marke for the arrow.
Er hat seinen Bogen gespannt und mich dem Pfeil zum Ziel gesteckt.
13 Hee caused the arrowes of his quiuer to enter into my reines.
Er hat aus dem Köcher in meine Nieren schießen lassen.
14 I was a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
Ich bin ein Spott allem meinem Volk und täglich ihr Liedlein.
15 He hath filled me with bitternes, and made me drunken with wormewood.
Er hat mich mit Bitterkeit gesättigt und mit Wermut getränkt.
16 He hath also broken my teeth with stones, and hath couered me with ashes.
Er hat meine Zähne zu kleinen Stücken zerschlagen. Er wälzt mich in der Asche.
17 Thus my soule was farre off from peace: I forgate prosperitie,
Meine Seele ist aus dem Frieden vertrieben; ich muß des Guten vergessen.
18 And I saide, My strength and mine hope is perished from the Lord,
Ich sprach: Mein Vermögen ist dahin und meine Hoffnung auf den HERRN.
19 Remembring mine affliction, and my mourning, the wormewood and the gall.
Gedenke doch, wie ich so elend und verlassen, mit Wermut und Galle getränkt bin!
20 My soule hath them in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
Du wirst ja daran gedenken; denn meine Seele sagt mir es.
21 I consider this in mine heart: therefore haue I hope.
Das nehme ich zu Herzen, darum hoffe ich noch.
22 It is the Lordes mercies that wee are not consumed, because his compassions faile not.
Die Güte des HERRN ist's, daß wir nicht gar aus sind; seine Barmherzigkeit hat noch kein Ende,
23 They are renued euery morning: great is thy faithfulnesse.
sondern sie ist alle Morgen neu, und deine Treue ist groß.
24 The Lord is my portion, sayth my soule: therefore wil I hope in him.
Der HERR ist mein Teil, spricht meine Seele; darum will ich auf ihn hoffen.
25 The Lord is good vnto them, that trust in him, and to the soule that seeketh him.
Denn der HERR ist freundlich dem, der auf sie harrt, und der Seele, die nach ihm fragt.
26 It is good both to trust, and to waite for the saluation of the Lord.
Es ist ein köstlich Ding, geduldig sein und auf die Hilfe des HERRN hoffen.
27 It is good for a man that he beare the yoke in his youth.
Es ist ein köstlich Ding einem Mann, daß er das Joch in seiner Jugend trage;
28 He sitteth alone, and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it vpon him.
daß ein Verlassener geduldig sei, wenn ihn etwas überfällt,
29 He putteth his mouth in the dust, if there may be hope.
und seinen Mund in den Staub stecke und der Hoffnung warte
30 Hee giueth his cheeke to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproches.
und lasse sich auf die Backen schlagen und viel Schmach anlegen.
31 For the Lord will not forsake for euer.
Denn der Herr verstößt nicht ewiglich;
32 But though he sende affliction, yet will he haue compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
sondern er betrübt wohl, und erbarmt sich wieder nach seiner Güte.
33 For he doeth not punish willingly, nor afflict the children of men,
Denn er nicht von Herzen die Menschen plagt und betrübt,
34 In stamping vnder his feete all the prisoners of the earth,
als wollte er die Gefangenen auf Erden gar unter seine Füße zertreten
35 In ouerthrowing the right of a man before the face of the most high,
und eines Mannes Recht vor dem Allerhöchsten beugen lassen
36 In subuerting a man in his cause: the Lord seeth it not.
und eines Menschen Sache verkehren lassen, gleich als sähe es der Herr nicht.
37 Who is he then that sayth, and it commeth to passe, and the Lord commandeth it not?
Wer darf denn sagen, daß solches geschehe ohne des Herrn Befehl
38 Out of the mouth of the most high proceedeth not euill and good?
und daß nicht Böses und Gutes komme aus dem Munde des Allerhöchsten?
39 Wherefore then is the liuing man sorowfull? man suffreth for his sinne.
Wie murren denn die Leute im Leben also? Ein jeglicher murre wider seine Sünde!
40 Let vs search and try our wayes, and turne againe to the Lord.
Und laßt uns erforschen und prüfen unser Wesen und uns zum HERRN bekehren!
41 Let vs lift vp our hearts with our handes vnto God in the heauens.
Laßt uns unser Herz samt den Händen aufheben zu Gott im Himmel!
42 We haue sinned, and haue rebelled, therefore thou hast not spared.
Wir, wir haben gesündigt und sind ungehorsam gewesen; darum hast du billig nicht verschont;
43 Thou hast couered vs with wrath, and persecuted vs: thou hast slaine and not spared.
sondern du hast uns mit Zorn überschüttet und verfolgt und ohne Barmherzigkeit erwürgt.
44 Thou hast couered thy selfe with a cloude, that our prayer should not passe through.
Du hast dich mit einer Wolke verdeckt, daß kein Gebet hindurch konnte.
45 Thou hast made vs as the ofscouring and refuse in the middes of the people.
Du hast uns zu Kot und Unflat gemacht unter den Völkern.
46 All our enemies haue opened their mouth against vs.
Alle unsre Feinde sperren ihr Maul auf wider uns.
47 Feare, and a snare is come vpon vs with desolation and destruction.
Wir werden gedrückt und geplagt mit Schrecken und Angst.
48 Mine eye casteth out riuers of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Meine Augen rinnen mit Wasserbächen über den Jammer der Tochter meines Volks.
49 Mine eye droppeth without stay and ceaseth not,
Meine Augen fließen und können nicht ablassen; denn es ist kein Aufhören da,
50 Till the Lord looke downe, and beholde from heauen.
bis der HERR vom Himmel herabschaue uns sehe darein.
51 Mine eye breaketh mine heart because of all the daughters of my citie.
Mein Auge frißt mir das Leben weg um die Töchter meiner Stadt.
52 Mine enemies chased me sore like a birde, without cause.
Meine Feinde haben mich gehetzt wie einen Vogel ohne Ursache;
53 They haue shut vp my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone vpon me.
sie haben mein Leben in einer Grube fast umgebracht und Steine auf mich geworfen;
54 Waters flowed ouer mine head, then thought I, I am destroyed.
sie haben mein Haupt mit Wasser überschüttet; da sprach ich: Nun bin ich gar dahin.
55 I called vpon thy Name, O Lord, out of the lowe dungeon.
Ich rief aber deinen Namen an, HERR, unten aus der Grube,
56 Thou hast heard my voyce: stoppe not thine eare from my sigh and from my cry.
und du erhörtest meine Stimme: Verbirg deine Ohren nicht vor meinem Seufzen und Schreien!
57 Thou drewest neere in the day that I called vpon thee: thou saydest, Feare not.
Du nahest dich zu mir, wenn ich dich anrufe, und sprichst: Fürchte dich nicht!
58 O Lord, thou hast maintained the cause of my soule, and hast redeemed my life.
Du führest, Herr, die Sache meiner Seele und erlösest mein Leben.
59 O Lord, thou hast seene my wrong, iudge thou my cause.
Du siehest, HERR, wie mir so Unrecht geschieht; hilf mir zu meinem Recht!
60 Thou hast seene all their vengeance, and all their deuises against me.
Du siehst alle ihre Rache und alle ihre Gedanken wider mich.
61 Thou hast heard their reproch, O Lord, and all their imaginations against me:
HERR, du hörest ihr Schmähen und alle ihre Gedanken über mich,
62 The lippes also of those that rose against me, and their whispering against me continually.
die Lippen meiner Widersacher und ihr dichten wider mich täglich.
63 Behold, their sitting downe and their rising vp, how I am their song.
Schaue doch, sie sitzen oder stehen auf, so singen sie von mir ein Liedlein.
64 Giue them a recompence, O Lord, according to the worke of their handes.
Vergilt ihnen, HERR, wie sie verdient haben!
65 Giue them sorow of heart, euen thy curse to them.
Laß ihnen das Herz erschrecken, laß sie deinen Fluch fühlen!
66 Persecute with wrath and destroy them from vnder the heauen, O Lord.
Verfolge sie mit deinem Grimm und vertilge sie unter dem Himmel des HERRN.
