Judges 9
1 Then Abimelech the sonne of Ierubbaal went to Shechem vnto his mothers brethren, and communed with them, and with all the familie, and house of his mothers father, saying,
Nagpunta si Abimelec na anak ni Jerub Baal sa mga kamag-anak ng kaniyang ina sa Shekem at sinabi niya sa kanila at sa buong angkan ng pamilya ng kaniyang ina,
2 Say, I pray you, in the audience of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, that all the sonnes of Ierubbaal, which are seuentie persons, reigne ouer you, either that one reigne ouer you? Remember also, that I am your bone, and your flesh.
“Pakiusap sabihin mo ito, para makarinig ang lahat ng mga pinuno ng Shekem, 'Ano ang mas mabuti para sa inyo: maghari sa inyo ang lahat ng pitumpung anak na lalaki ni Jerub Baal, o isa lang ang maghari sa inyo?' Alalahaning ako ay inyong buto at inyong laman.”
3 Then his mothers brethren spake of him in the audience of all the men of Shechem, all these wordes: and their hearts were moued to follow Abimelech: for sayd they, He is our brother.
Nagsalita para sa kaniya ang mga kamag-anak ng kaniyang ina sa mga pinuno ng Shekem, at napagkasunduan nilang sundan si Abimelec, dahil sinabi nila, “Kapatid natin siya.”
4 And they gaue him seuentie pieces of siluer out of the house of Baal-berith, wherewith Abimelech hired vayne and light fellowes which followed him.
Binigyan nila siya ng pitumpung piraso ng pilak mula sa bahay ni Baal Berit, at ginamit ito ni Abimelec para kumuha ng mga lalaking lumalabag sa batas at walang pag-iingat na asal, na sumunod sa kaniya.
5 And he went vnto his fathers house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren, the sonnes of Ierubbaal, about seuentie persons vpon one stone: yet Iotham the yongest sonne of Ierubbaal was left: for he hid himselfe.
Pumunta siya sa bahay ng kaniyang ama sa Ofra at sa isang bato pinatay niya ang pitumpung kapatid niyang lalaki, mga anak na lalaki ni Jerub Baal. Tanging si Jotam ang naiwan, ang pinakabatang anak na lalaki ni Jerub Baal, dahil itinago niya ang kaniyang sarili.
6 And all the men of Shechem gathered together with all the house of Millo, and came and made Abimelech King in the playne, where the stone was erected in Shechem.
Nagsama-samang dumating lahat ng mga pinuno ng Shekem at Betmilo at nagtungo sila at ginawang hari si Abimelec, sa tabi ng kahoy na puno malapit sa haliging nasa Shekem.
7 And when they told it to Iotham, he went and stoode in the top of mount Gerizim, and lift vp his voyce, and cryed, and sayd vnto them, Hearken vnto mee, you men of Shechem, that God may hearken vnto you.
Nang sabihan si Jotam tungkol dito, pumunta siya at tumayo sa tuktok ng Bundok Gerizim. Sumigaw siya at sinabi sa kanila, “Makinig kayo sa akin, kayong mga pinuno ng Shekem, para pakinggan kayo ng Diyos.
8 The trees went foorth to anoynt a King ouer them, and sayde vnto the oliue tree, Reigne thou ouer vs.
Minsang lumabas ang mga puno para magpahid sa isang hari sa ibabaw nila. At sinabi nila sa puno ng olibo, 'Maghari ka sa amin.'
9 But the oliue tree said vnto them, Should I leaue my fatnes, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to aduance me aboue ye trees?
Pero sinabi ng puno ng olibo sa kanila, 'Dapat ko bang bitawan ang aking langis, na ginagamit para parangalan ang mga diyos at sangkatauhan, para umalis ako pabalik, para lang umuyog sa ibabaw ng ibang mga puno?'
10 Then the trees sayde to the fig tree, Come thou, and be King ouer vs.
Sinabi ng mga puno sa puno ng igos, 'Halika at maghari sa amin.'
11 But the fig tree answered them, Should I forsake my sweetenesse, and my good fruite, and goe to aduance me aboue the trees?
Pero sinabi ng puno ng igos sa kanila, 'Dapat ko bang bitawan ang aking tamis at aking maayos na bunga, para lang makabalik ako at umuyog sa ibabaw ng ibang mga puno?'
12 Then sayd the trees vnto the Vine, Come thou, and be king ouer vs.
Sinabi ng mga puno sa puno ng ubas, 'Halika at maghari sa amin.'
13 But the Vine sayde vnto them, Should I leaue my wine, whereby I cheare God and man, and goe to aduance me aboue the trees?
Sinabi ng puno ng ubas sa kanila, 'Dapat ko bang bitawan ang aking bagong alak, na nagpapaligaya sa mga diyos at sangkatauhan, at bumalik at umuyog sa ibabaw ng ibang mga puno?'
14 Then said all the trees vnto the bramble, Come thou, and reigne ouer vs.
Pagkatapos sinabi ng lahat ng mga puno sa palumpong na tinik, 'Halika at maghari sa amin.'
15 And the bramble said vnto the trees, If ye will in deede anoynt me King ouer you, come, and put your trust vnder my shadowe: and if not, the fire shall come out of the bramble, and consume the Cedars of Lebanon.
Sinabi ng palumpong na tinik sa mga puno, 'Kung tunay na gusto ninyong pahiran ako bilang hari sa inyo, sa gayon pumunta sa akin at maging ligtas sa ilalim ng aking lilim. Kung hindi, hayaang lumabas ang apoy sa palumpong na tinik at hayaan itong sumunog sa mga sedar ng Lebanon.'
16 Now therefore, if ye doe truely and vncorruptly to make Abimelech King, and if ye haue delt well with Ierubbaal and with his house, and haue done vnto him according to the deseruing of his handes,
Kaya ngayon, kung kumilos kayo sa katotohanan at katapatan, nang ninyong ginawang hari si Abimelec, at kung nakagawa kayo ng mabuti tungkol kay Jerub Baal at kaniyang bahay, at kung nagparusa kayo sa kaniya ng karapat-dapat—
17 (For my father fought for you, and aduentured his life, and deliuered you out of the handes of Midian.
—at para isipin na lumaban ang aking ama para sa inyo, ipinagsapalaran ang kaniyang buhay, at iniligtas kayo mula sa kamay ng Midian—
18 And yee are risen vp against my fathers house this day, and haue slayne his children, about seuentie persons vpon one stone, and haue made Abimelech the sonne of his mayde seruant, King ouer the men of Shechem, because hee is your brother)
pero sa araw na ito nag-alsa kayo laban sa bahay ng aking ama at pinatay ang kaniyang mga anak na lalaki, pitumpung tao, sa ibabaw ng isang bato. At ginawa ninyo si Abimelec ang lalaking anak ng kaniyang babaeng lingkod, na hari sa lahat ng mga pinuno ng Shekem, dahil kamag-anak ninyo siya.
19 If ye then haue delt truely and purely with Ierubbaal, and with his house this day, then reioyce with you.
Kung kumilos kayo ng may katapatan at karangalan kay Jerub Baal at sa kaniyang bahay, dapat kayong magalak kay Abimelec, at hayaan siyang magalak din sa inyo.
20 But if not, let a fire come out from Abimelech, and consume the men of Shechem and the house of Millo: also let a fire come foorth from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and consume Abimelech.
Pero kung hindi, hayaan na lumabas ang apoy mula kay Abimelec at sunugin ang mga kalalakihan ng Shekem at bahay ng Millo. Hayaang lumabas ang apoy mula sa mga kalalakihan ng Shekem at Bet Millo, para sumunod kay Abimelec.”
21 And Iotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there for feare of Abimelech his brother.
Tumakas si Jotam at tumakbo palayo, At nagtungo siya sa Beer. Nanirahan siya doon dahil malayo iyon mula kay Abimelec, na kaniyang kapatid.
22 So Abimelech reigned three yeere ouer Israel.
Namuno si Abimelec sa buong Israel sa loob ng tatlong taon.
23 But God sent an euil spirit betweene Abimelech, and the men of Shechem: and the men of Shechem brake their promise to Abimelech,
Nagpadala ang Diyos ng masamang espiritu sa pagitan ni Abimelec at mga pinuno ng Shekem. Pinagtaksilan ng mga pinuno ng Sechem ang tiwalang mayroon sila kay Abimelec.
24 That the crueltie toward the seuentie sonnes of Ierubbaal and their blood might come and be laide vpon Abimelech their brother, which had slayne them, and vpon the men of Shechem, which had ayded him to kill his brethren.
Ginawa ito ng Diyos para mapaghigantihan ang karahasan na nagawa sa pitumpung anak na lalaki ni Jerub Baal, at si Abimelec ang managot sa pagpatay sa kanila, at managot ang mga kalalakihan ng Shekem dahil tinulungan nilang patayin ang kaniyang mga kapatid na lalaki.
25 So the men of Shechem set men in wayte for him in the toppes of the mountaines: who robbed all that passed that way by them: and it was tolde Abimelech.
Kaya nagtalaga ang mga pinuno ng Shekem ng mga kalalakihan na mag-aabang sa mga tuktok ng mga burol para tambangan nila siya, at ninakawan nila lahat ng dumaan sa kanila sa tabi ng daan. Ibinalita ito kay Abimelec.
26 Then Gaal the sonne of Ebed came with his brethren, and they went to Shechem: and the men of Shechem put their confidence in him.
Dumating si Gaal anak na lalaki ni Ebed kasama ng kaniyang mga kamag anak at pumunta sila sa Shekem. Nagkaroon ng lakas ng loob ang mga pinuno ng Shekem sa kaniya.
27 Therefore they went out into the field, and gathered in their grapes and troade them, and made merie, and went into the house of their gods, and did eate and drinke, and cursed Abimelech.
Lumabas sila sa bukirin at nagtipon ng mga ubas mula sa mga ubasan, at tumapak sa mga ito. Nagdaos sila ng pagdiriwang sa bahay ng kanilang diyos, kung saan kumain sila at uminom, at isinumpa nila si Abimelec.
28 Then Gaal the sonne of Ebed sayde, Who is Abimelech? and who is Shechem, that wee should serue him? Is he not the sonne of Ierubbaal? and Zebul is his officer? Serue rather the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serue him?
Si Gaal anak ni Ebed ay nagsabing, “Sino si Abimelec, at sino si Shekem, na dapat natin siyang paglingkuran? hindi ba siya ang anak ni Jerub Baal? At hindi ba opisyal niya si Zebul? Paglingkuran ang mga kalalakihan ng Hamor, ama ng Shekem! Bakit kailangan natin siyang paglingkuran?
29 Now would God this people were vnder mine hand: then would I put away Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out.
Hiling kong ang mga taong ito ay nasa ilalim ng aking kautusan! Pagkatapos aalisin ko si Abimelec. Sasabihin ko kay Abimelec, 'Tawagin mo ang lahat ng iyong mga hukbo.'''
30 And when Zebul the ruler of the citie heard the wordes of Gaal the sonne of Ebed, his wrath was kindled.
Nang marinig ni Zebul, opisyales ng lungsod, ang mga salita ni Gaal anak ni Ebed ang kaniyang galit ay nag-alab.
31 Therefore he sent messengers vnto Abimelech priuily, saying, Beholde, Gaal the sonne of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem, and beholde, they fortifie the citie against thee.
Nagpadala siya ng mga mensahero kay Abimelec para manlinlang, sa pagsasabing, “Tingnan, parating sa Shekem si Gaal anak ni Ebed at kaniyang mga kamag-anak, at pinupukaw ang lungsod laban sa iyo.
32 Now therefore arise by night, thou and the people that is with thee, and lye in wayte in the fielde.
Ngayon, tumayo ka sa gabi, ikaw at ang mga sundalong kasama mo, at maghanda ng isang pananambang sa mga bukirin.
33 And rise early in the morning as soone as the sunne is vp, and assault the citie: and when he and the people that is with him, shall come out against thee, doe to him what thou canst.
Pagkatapos sa umaga, sa sandaling sumikat ang araw, bumangon ng maaga at maglunsad ng isang pagsalakay sa lungsod. At kapag siya at ang mga taong kasama niya ay lumabas laban sa iyo, gawin ang anumang bagay na magagawa mo sa kanila.”
34 So Abimelech rose vp, and all the people that were with him by night: and they lay in wayte against Shechem in foure bandes.
Kaya tumayo si Abimelec sa gabi, siya at lahat ng kalalakihan na kasama niya, at naglunsad sila ng pananambang laban sa Shekem—hinati sa apat na pangkat.
35 Then Gaal the sonne of Ebed went out and stood in the entring of the gate of the citie: and Abimelech rose vp, and the folke that were with him, from lying in waite.
Lumabas si Gaal anak ni Ebed at tumayo sa pasukan ng tarangkahan ng lungsod. Lumabas sa kanilang pinagtataguan sina Abimelec at mga kalalakihang kasama niya.
36 And when Gaal sawe the people, he said to Zebul, Beholde, there come people downe from the tops of the mountaines: and Zebul said vnto him, The shadowe of the mountaines seeme men vnto thee.
Nang makita ni Gaal ang mga kalalakihan, sinabi niya kay Zebul, “Tingnan, bumababa ang mga kalalakihan mula sa tuktok ng mga burol!” Sinabi ni Zebul sa kaniya, “Nakikita mo ang mga anino sa mga burol na para bang sila ay mga lalaki.”
37 And Gaal spake againe, and said, See, there come folke downe by the middle of the land, and another bande commeth by the way of the plaine of Meonenim.
Nagsalita ulit si Gaal at sinabing, “Tingnan mo, bumababa ang mga lalaki sa gitna ng lupain, at ang isang pangkat ay padating sa daan ng kahoy ng mga manghuhula.”
38 Then sayd Zebul vnto him, Where is now thy mouth, that said, Who is Abimelech, that we should serue him? Is not this the people that thou hast despised? Go out now, I pray thee, and fight with them.
Pagkatapos sinabi ni Zebul sa kaniya, “Nasaan na ang iyong mapagmalaking mga salita ngayon, ikaw na nagsabing, 'Sino si Abimelec na dapat namin paglingkuran?' Hindi ba ito ang mga lalaking kinamumuhian mo? Lumabas ka ngayon at makipaglaban sa kanila.”
39 And Gaal went out before the men of Shechem, and fought with Abimelech.
Lumabas si Gaal at pinangungunahan niya ang mga lalaki ng Shekem, at nakipag-away siya kay Abimelec.
40 But Abimelech pursued him, and he fledde before him, and many were ouerthrowen and wounded, euen vnto the entring of the gate.
Hinabol siya ni Abimelec, at tumakas si Gaal sa kaniya. At marami ang bumagsak sa pasukan ng tarangkahan ng lungsod.
41 And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren that they should not dwell in Shechem.
Nanatili si Abimelec sa Aruma. Pinilit ni Zebul si Gaal at kaniyang mga kamag-anak palabas ng Shekem.
42 And on the morowe, the people went out into the fielde: which was tolde Abimelech.
Sa sumunod na araw lumabas ang mga tao ng Shekem sa kabukiran, at ibinalita ito kay Abimelec.
43 And he tooke the people, and deuided them into three bandes, and layde wayte in the fieldes, and looked, and beholde, the people were come out of the citie, and he rose vp against them, and smote them.
Dinala niya ang kaniyang mga tao, inihanay sila sa tatlong mga pangkat, at naglagay sila ng pananambang sa bukirin. Tumingin siya at nakitang parating ang mga tao mula sa lungsod. At sinalakay niya sila at pinatay sila.
44 And Abimelech, and the bandes that were with him, russhed forwarde, and stoode in the entring of the gate of the citie: and the two other bandes ran vpon all the people that were in the fielde and slewe them.
Sumalakay sina Abimelec at ang mga pangkat na kasama niya at hinarang ang pasukan ng tarangkahan ng lungsod. Sumalakay ang iba pang dalawang mga pangkat sa lahat ng nasa bukirin at pinatay sila.
45 And when Abimelech had fought against the citie all that day, he tooke the citie, and slewe the people that was therein, and destroyed the citie and sowed salt in it.
Lumaban si Abimelec sa lungsod sa buong araw na iyon. Binihag ang lungsod, at pinatay ang mga tao na naroon. Giniba niya ang mga pader ng lungsod at nagkalat ng asin sa ibabaw nito.
46 And when all the men of the towre of Shechem heard it, they entred into an holde of the house of the god Berith.
Nang marinig ng lahat ng mga pinuno ng tore ng Shekem iyon, pumasok sila sa matibay na tanggulan ng bahay ng El Berit.
47 And it was tolde Abimelech, that all the men of the towre of Shechem were gathered together.
Sinabihan si Abimelec na magkakasamang nagtipon ang lahat ng mga pinuno sa tore ng Shekem.
48 And Abimelech gate him vp to mounte Zalmon, hee and all the people that were with him: and Abimelech tooke axes with him, and cut downe boughes of trees, and tooke them, and bare them on his shoulder, and sayde vnto the folke that were with him, What ye haue seene me doe, make haste, and doe like me.
Umakyat si Abimelec sa Bundok ng Zalmon, siya at lahat ng lalaking kasama niya. Kumuha si Abimelec ng palakol at pumutol ng mga sanga. Inilagay niya ito sa kaniyang balikat at inutusan ang mga lalaking kasama niya, “Kung ano ang nakita ninyong ginagawa ko, bilisan at gawin gaya ng ginawa ko.”
49 Then all the people also cut downe euery man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put them to the holde, and set the holde on fire with them: so all the men of the towre of Shechem dyed also, about a thousand men and women.
Kaya nagputol ang bawat isa ng mga sanga at sinunod si Abimelec. Pinagpatong-patong nila sa ibabaw ng pader ng tore, at niliyaban nila ito, paramamatay din ang mga tao ng tore ng Shekem, humigit-kumulang sa isang libong lalaki at babae.
50 Then went Abimelech to Tebez, and besieged Tebez, and tooke it.
Pagkatapos nagtungo si Abimelec sa Tebez, at nagkampo siya laban sa Tebez at binihag ito.
51 But there was a strong towre within the citie, and thither fledde all the men and women, and all the chiefe of the citie, and shut it to them, and went vp to the toppe of the towre.
Pero may matibay na tore sa lungsod, at lahat ng mga lalaki at mga babae at lahat ng mga pinuno ng lungsod ay tumakas papunta roon at ikinulong ang kanilang sarili. Pagkatapos umakyat sila sa bubong ng tore.
52 And Abimelech came vnto the towre and fought against it, and went hard vnto the doore of the towre to set it on fire.
Dumating si Abimelec sa tore at nakipaglaban dito, at umakyat siya malapit sa pinto ng tore para sunugin ito.
53 But a certaine woman cast a piece of a milstone vpon Abimelechs head, and brake his braine pan.
Pero isang babae ang naghulog ng batong pang-giling sa ulo ni Abimelec at nabiyak nito ang kaniyang bungo.
54 Then Abimelech called hastily his page that bare his harneis, and sayde vnto him, Drawe thy sworde and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slewe him. And his page thrust him thorowe, and he dyed.
Pagkatapos madalian siyang tumawag sa batang lalaking taga-dala ng kaniyang baluti, at sinabi sa kaniya, “Ilabas mo ang iyong espada at patayin ako, para walang magsalita tungkol sa akin na, 'Isang babae ang pumatay sa kaniya.”' Kaya sinaksak siya ng kaniyang batang lalaki, at namatay siya.
55 And when the men of Israel sawe that Abimelech was dead, they departed euery man vnto his owne place.
Nang makita ng mga kalalakihan ng Israel na patay na si Abimelec, umuwi na sila.
56 Thus God rendred the wickednes of Abimelech, which he did vnto his father, in slaying his seuentie brethren.
At sa ganun napaghigantihan ng Diyos ang kasamaan ni Abimelec na ginawa niya sa kaniyang ama sa pamamagitan ng pagpatay sa kaniyang pitumpung kapatid na lalaki.
57 Also all the wickednes of the men of Shechem did God bring vpon their heads. So vpon them came the curse of Iotham the sonne of Ierubbaal.
Ibinalik ng Diyos ang lahat ng kasamaan ng mga tao ng Shekem sa kanilang sarili at dumating sa kanila ang sumpa ni Jotam anak na lalaki ni Jerub Baal.
