Judges 17

1 There was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Michah,

En man var på Ephraims berg, benämnd Micha.

2 And he saide vnto his mother, The eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer that were taken from thee, for the which thou cursedst, and spakedst it, euen in mine hearing, beholde, the siluer is with me, I tooke it. Then his mother saide, Blessed be my sonne of the Lord.

Han sade till sina moder: De tusende och hundrade silfpenningar, som äro tagne ifrå dig, och som du svorit öfver, och sagt för min öron, si, de samma penningar äro när mig; jag hafver tagit dem till mig. Då sade hans moder: Välsignad vare min son Herranom.

3 And when he had restored the eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer to his mother, his mother sayd, I had dedicate the siluer to the Lord of mine hand for my sonne, to make a grauen and molten image. Now therfore I will giue it thee again.

Så fick han sine moder de tusende och hundrade silfpenningar igen; och hans moder sade: Jag hafver helgat de penningarna Herranom ifrå mine hand, för min son, till att man må göra ett gjutet beläte; derföre så får jag dig dem nu igen.

4 And when he had restored the money vnto his mother, his mother tooke two hundreth shekels of siluer, and gaue them to the founder, which made thereof a grauen and molten image, and it was in the house of Michah.

Men han fick sine moder penningarna igen. Då tog hans moder tuhundrade silfpenningar, och fick dem till guldsmeden; han gjorde henne ett gjutet beläte; det var sedan i Micha huse.

5 And this man Michah had an house of gods, and made an Ephod, and Teraphim, and cosecrated one of his sonnes, who was his Priest.

Och den mannen Micha hade så ett guds hus; och han gjorde en lifkjortel, och afgudar, och fyllde enom sinom son handena, att han vardt hans Prester.

6 In those dayes there was no King in Israel, but euery man did that which was good in his owne eyes.

På den tiden var ingen Konung i Israel, och hvar och en gjorde såsom honom tyckte godt vara.

7 There was also a yong man out of Bethlehem Iudah, of the familie of Iudah: who was a Leuite, and soiourned there.

Men en ung man var på den tiden af BethLehem Juda, ibland Juda slägte, och han var en Levit, och var dersammastäds främmande.

8 And the man departed out of the citie, euen out of Beth-lehem Iudah, to dwell where he coulde finde a place: and as he iourneyed, he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Michah

Men han drog utu BethLehem, Juda stad, till att vandra hvart han kunde; och då han kom på Ephraims berg till Micha hus, på det han skulle hålla sin väg fram,

9 And Michah saide vnto him, Whence comest thou? And the Leuite answered him, I come from Beth-lehem Iudah, and goe to dwell where I may finde a place.

Frågade honom Micha: Hvadan kommer du? Han svarade honom: Jag är en Levit af BethLehem Juda, och vandrar hvart jag kan.

10 Then Michah said vnto him, Dwell with me, and be vnto me a father and a Priest, and I will giue thee ten shekels of siluer by yeere, and a sute of apparell, and thy meate and drinke. So the Leuite went in.

Micha sade till honom: Blif när mig, du skall vara min fader, och min Prest; jag vill gifva dig årliga tio silfpenningar, och någor förenämnd kläder, och din födo. Och Leviten gick med honom.

11 And the Leuite was content to dwel with the man, and the yong man was vnto him as one of his owne sonnes.

Och Leviten tog till att blifva när mannenom; och han höll den unga mannen såsom en son.

12 And Michah consecrated the Leuite, and the yong man was his Priest, and was in the house of Michah.

Och Micha fyllde Levitenom handena, så att han vardt hans Prester, och blef så i Micha huse.

13 Then said Michah, Nowe I know that the Lord will be good vnto me, seeing I haue a Leuite to my Priest.

Och Micha sade: Nu vet jag, att Herren varder mig godt görandes, efter jag hafver en Levit till Prest.
