Judges 16
1 Then went Samson to Azzah, and sawe there an harlot, and went in vnto her.
| روزی سامسون به شهر فلسطینی غزه رفت و شب را با زن بدکاره‌ای به سر برد. |
2 And it was tolde to the Azzahites, Samson is come hither. And they went about, and laied wayte for him all night in the gate of the citie, and were quiet all the nyght, saying, Abide till the morning earely, and we shall kill him.
| به‌زودی در همه جا پخش شد که سامسون به غزه آمده است. پس مردان شهر تمام شب نزد دروازه در کمین نشستند تا اگر خواست فرار کند او را بگیرند. آنها در شب هیچ اقدامی نکردند بلکه گفتند: «چون صبح هوا روشن شود، او را خواهیم کشت.» |
3 And Samson slept till midnight, and arose at midnight, and tooke the doores of the gates of the citie, and the two postes and lift them away with the barres, and put them vpon his shoulders, and caried them vp to the top of the mountaine that is before Hebron.
| اما سامسون تا نصف شب خوابید؛ سپس برخاسته بیرون رفت و دروازهٔ شهر را با چارچوبش از جا کند و آن را بر دوش خود گذاشته، به بالای تپه‌ای که در مقابل حبرون است برد. |
4 And after this hee loued a woman by the riuer of Sorek, whose name was Delilah:
| مدتی بعد، سامسون عاشق زنی از وادی سورق، به نام دلیله شد. |
5 Vnto whome came the princes of the Philistims, and said vnto her, Entise him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what meane we may ouercome him, that we may binde him, and punish him, and euery one of vs shall giue thee eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer.
| پنج رهبر فلسطینی نزد دلیله آمده، به او گفتند: «سعی کن بفهمی چه چیزی او را اینچنین نیرومند ساخته است و چطور می‌توانیم او را بگیریم و ببندیم. اگر این کار را انجام دهی هر یک از ما هزار و صد مثقال نقره به تو پاداش خواهیم داد.» |
6 And Delilah saide to Samson, Tell mee, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest bee bound, to doe thee hurt.
| پس دلیله به سامسون گفت: «خواهش می‌کنم به من بگو که رمز قدرت تو چیست؟ چگونه می‌توان تو را بست و ناتوان کرد؟» |
7 Samson then answered vnto her, If they binde mee with seuen greene cordes, that were neuer dryed, then shall I bee weake, and be as an other man.
| سامسون در جواب او گفت: «اگر مرا با هفت زه کمانِ تازه که خشک نشده باشد ببندند، مثل هر کس دیگر ناتوان خواهم شد.» |
8 And the princes of the Philistims brought her seuen greene cordes that were not dry, and she bound him therewith.
| پس رهبران فلسطینی هفت زه کمان برای دلیله آوردند و دلیله با آن هفت زه کمان او را بست. |
9 (And she had men lying in wayte with her in the chamber) Then she said vnto him, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson. And hee brake the cordes, as a threede of towe is broken, when it feeleth fire: so his strength was not knowen.
| در ضمن، او چند نفر فلسطینی را در اتاق مجاور مخفی کرده بود. دلیله پس از بستن سامسون فریاد زد: «سامسون! فلسطینی‌ها برای گرفتن تو آمده‌اند!» سامسون زه را مثل نخ کتانی که به آتش برخورد می‌کند، پاره کرد و راز قدرتش آشکار نشد. |
10 After Delilah saide vnto Samson, See, thou hast mocked mee and tolde mee lies. I pray thee nowe, tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound.
| سپس دلیله به وی گفت: «سامسون، تو مرا مسخره کرده‌ای! چرا به من دروغ گفتی؟ خواهش می‌کنم به من بگو که چطور می‌توان تو را بست؟» |
11 Then he answered her, If they binde mee with newe ropes that neuer were occupied, then shall I be weake, and be as an other man.
| سامسون گفت: «اگر با طنابهای تازه‌ای که هرگز از آنها استفاده نشده، بسته شوم، مانند سایر مردان، ناتوان خواهم شد.» |
12 Delilah therefore tooke newe ropes, and bounde him therewith, and saide vnto him, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson: (and men lay in wayte in the chamber) and hee brake them from his armes, as a threede.
| پس دلیله طنابهای تازه‌ای گرفته، او را بست. این بار نیز فلسطینی‌ها در اتاق مجاور مخفی شده بودند. دلیله فریاد زد: «سامسون! فلسطینی‌ها برای گرفتن تو آمده‌اند!» ولی او طنابها را مثل نخ از بازوان خود گسست. |
13 Afterward Delilah said to Samson, Hitherto thou hast beguiled mee, and tolde me lies: tell me how thou mightest be bounde. And he sayde vnto her, If thou plattedst seuen lockes of mine head with the threedes of the woufe.
| دلیله به وی گفت: «باز هم مرا دست انداختی و به من راست نگفتی! حالا به من بگو که واقعاً چطور می‌توان تو را بست؟» سامسون گفت: «اگر هفت گیسوی مرا در تارهای دستگاه نساجی‌ات ببافی مانند مردان دیگر، ناتوان خواهم شد.» |
14 And she fastened it with a pinne, and saide vnto him, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleepe, and went away with the pinne of the webbe and the woufe.
| پس وقتی او در خواب بود، دلیله موهای او را در تارهای دستگاه نساجی بافت و آنها را با میخ دستگاه محکم کرد. سپس فریاد زد: «سامسون! فلسطینی‌ها آمدند!» او بیدار شد و با یک حرکت سر، دستگاه را از جا کند! |
15 Againe shee sayde vnto him, Howe canst thou say, I loue thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked mee these three times, and hast not tolde me wherein thy great strength lieth.
| دلیله به او گفت: «چگونه می‌گویی مرا دوست داری و حال آنکه به من اعتماد نداری؟ سه مرتبه است که مرا دست انداختی و به من نمی‌گویی راز قدرتت در چیست؟» |
16 And because shee was importunate vpon him with her wordes continually, and vexed him, his soule was pained vnto the death.
| دلیله هر روز با اصرارهای خود سامسون را به ستوه می‌آورد، تا اینکه سرانجام راز قدرت خود را برای او فاش ساخت. سامسون به وی گفت: «موی سر من هرگز تراشیده نشده است. چون من از بدو تولد نذیره بوده و وقف خدا شده‌ام. اگر موی سرم تراشیده شود، نیروی من از بین رفته، مانند هر شخص دیگری ناتوان خواهم شد.» |
17 Therefore he tolde her all his heart, and said vnto her, There neuer came rasor vpon mine head: for I am a Nazarite vnto God from my mothers wombe: therefore if I bee shauen, my strength will goe from me, and I shalbe weake, and be like all other men.
18 And when Delilah sawe that he had tolde her all his heart, she sent, and called for the Princes of ye Philistims, saying, Come vp once againe: for he hath shewed mee all his heart. Then the Princes of the Philistims came vp vnto her, and brought the money in their handes.
| دلیله فهمید که این بار حقیقت را گفته است. پس به دنبال آن پنج رهبر فلسطینی فرستاد و به آنها گفت: «بیایید، این دفعه او همه چیز را به من گفته است.» پس آنها پولی را که به وی وعده داده بودند، با خود برداشته، آمدند. |
19 And she made him sleepe vpon her knees, and she called a man, and made him to shaue off the seuen lockes of his head, and shee began to vexe him, and his strength was gone from him.
| دلیله سر سامسون را روی دامن خود گذاشت و او را خواباند. سپس به دستور دلیله موی سرش را تراشیدند. بدین ترتیب، دلیله سامسون را درمانده کرد و نیروی او از او رفت. |
20 Then she said, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson. And hee awoke out of his sleepe, and thought, I will go out now as at other times, and shake my selfe, but he knewe not that the Lord was departed from him.
| آنگاه دلیله فریاد زد: «سامسون! فلسطینی‌ها آمده‌اند تو را بگیرند!» او بیدار شد و با خود اینطور فکر کرد: «مانند دفعات پیش به خود تکانی می‌دهم و آزاد می‌شوم!» اما غافل از این بود که خداوند او را ترک کرده است. |
21 Therefore the Philistims tooke him, and put out his eyes, and brought him downe to Azzah, and bounde him with fetters: and hee did grinde in the prison house.
| در این موقع فلسطینی‌ها آمده، او را گرفتند و چشمانش را از کاسه درآورده، او را به غزه بردند. در آنجا سامسون را با زنجیرهای مفرغین بسته به زندان انداختند و وادارش کردند گندم دستاس کند. |
22 And the heare of his head began to growe againe after that it was shauen.
| اما طولی نکشید که موی سرش دوباره بلند شد. |
23 Then the Princes of the Philistims gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice vnto Dagon their god, and to reioyce: for they said, Our god hath deliuered Samson our enemie into our handes.
| رهبران فلسطینی جمع شدند تا جشن مفصلی بر پا نمایند و قربانی بزرگی به بت خود داجون تقدیم کنند، چون پیروزی بر دشمن خود، سامسون را مدیون بت خود می‌دانستند. آنها با دیدن سامسون خدای خود را ستایش می‌کردند و می‌گفتند: «خدای ما، دشمن ما را که زمینمان را خراب کرد و بسیاری از فلسطینی‌ها را کشت، اکنون به دست ما تسلیم کرده است.» |
24 Also when the people saw him, they praysed their god: for they sayde, Our god hath deliuered into our hands our enemie and destroyer of our countrey, which hath slayne many of vs.
25 And when their heartes were merie, they said, Call Samson, that he may make vs pastime. So they called Samson out of the prison house, and he was a laughing stocke vnto them, and they set him betweene the pillars.
| جماعت نیمه مست فریاد می‌زدند: «سامسون را از زندان بیاورید تا ما را سرگرم کند.» سامسون را از زندان به داخل معبد آورده، او را در میان دو ستون که سقف معبد بر آنها قرار گرفته بود بر پا داشتند. سامسون به پسری که دستش را گرفته، او را راهنمایی می‌کرد گفت: «دستهای مرا روی دو ستون بگذار، چون می‌خواهم به آنها تکیه کنم.» |
26 Then Samson saide vnto the seruant that led him by the hande, Lead me, that I may touch the pillars that the house standeth vpon, and that I may leane to them.
27 (Nowe the house was full of men and women, and there were all the princes of the Philistims: also vpon the roofe were about three thousande men and women that behelde while Samson played)
| در این موقع معبد از مردم پر شده بود. پنج رهبر فلسطینی همراه با سه هزار نفر در ایوان‌های معبد به تماشای سامسون نشسته، او را مسخره می‌کردند. |
28 Then Samson called vnto the Lord, and sayde, O Lord God, I pray thee, thinke vpon me: O God, I beseech thee, strengthen me at this time onely, that I may be at once auenged of the Philistims for my two eyes.
| سامسون نزد خداوند دعا کرده، چنین گفت: «ای خداوند، خدای من، التماس می‌کنم مرا به یاد آور و یک بار دیگر نیرویم را به من بازگردان، تا انتقام چشمانم را از این فلسطینی‌ها بگیرم.» |
29 And Samson layd hold on the two middle pillars whereupon the house stood, and on which it was borne vp: on the one with his right hand, and on the other with his left.
| آنگاه سامسون دستهای خود را بر ستونها گذاشت و گفت: «بگذار با فلسطینی‌ها بمیرم.» سپس با تمام قوت بر ستونها فشار آورد و سقف معبد بر سر رهبران فلسطینی و همهٔ مردمی که در آنجا بودند فرو ریخت. تعداد افرادی که او هنگام مرگش کشت بیش از تمام کسانی بود که او در طول عمرش کشته بود. |
30 Then Samson saide, Let me lose my life with the Philistims: and he bowed him with all his might, and the house fell vpon the princes, and vpon all the people that were therein. so the dead which he slewe at his death were more then they which he had slaine in his life.
31 Then his brethren, and all the house of his father came downe and tooke him, and brought him vp and buryed him betweene Zorah and Eshtaol, in the sepulchre of Manoah his father: nowe he had iudged Israel twenty yeeres.
| بعد برادران و سایر بستگانش آمده، جسد او را بردند و در کنار قبر پدرش مانوح که بین راه صرعه و اِشتائُل قرار داشت، دفن کردند. سامسون مدت بیست سال رهبر قوم اسرائیل بود. |
