Joshua 1
1 Nowe after the death of Moses the seruant of the Lord, the Lord spake vnto Ioshua the sonne of Nun, Moses minister, saying,
E sucedeu depois da morte de Moisés, servo do Senhor, que o Senhor falou a Josué, filho de Nun, servo de Moisés, dizendo:
2 Moses my seruant is dead: nowe therefore arise, go ouer this Iorden, thou, and all this people, vnto the lande which I giue them, that is, to ye children of Israel.
Moisés, meu servo, é morto: levanta-te pois agora, passa este Jordão, tu e todo este povo, a terra que eu dou aos filhos de Israel.
3 Euery place that the sole of your foote shall treade vpon, haue I giuen you, as I said vnto Moses.
Todo o lugar que pisar a planta do vosso pé vo-lo tenho dado, como eu disse a Moisés.
4 From the wildernesse and this Lebanon euen vnto the great riuer, the riuer Perath: all the land of the Hittites, euen vnto the great Sea towarde the going downe of the sunne, shalbe your coast.
Desde o deserto e desde este líbano, até ao grande rio, o rio Euphrates, toda a terra dos heteus, e até o grande mar para o poente do sol, será o vosso termo.
5 There shall not a man be able to withstande thee all the dayes of thy life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not leaue thee, nor forsake thee.
Nenhum se susterá diante de ti, todos os dias da tua vida: como fui com Moisés, assim serei contigo: não te deixarei nem te desampararei.
6 Be strong and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou deuide the lande for an inheritance, which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them.
Esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo: porque tu farás a este povo herdar a terra que jurei a seus pais lhes daria.
7 Onely be thou strong, and of a most valiant courage, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all the Lawe which Moses my seruant hath commanded thee: thou shalt not turne away from it to the right hande, nor to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoeuer thou goest.
Tão somente esforça-te e tem mui bom ânimo, para teres o cuidado de fazer conforme a toda a lei que meu servo Moisés te ordenou; dela não te desvies, nem para a direita nem para a esquerda, para que prudentemente te conduzas por onde quer que andares.
8 Let not this booke of the Law depart out of thy mouth, but meditate therin day and night, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou haue good successe.
Não se aparte da tua boca o livro desta lei; antes medita nele dia e noite, para que tenhas cuidado de fazer conforme a tudo quanto nele está escrito; porque então farás prosperar o teu caminho, e então prudentemente te conduzirás.
9 Haue not I commanded thee, saying, Be strong and of a good courage, feare not, nor be discouraged? for I the Lord thy God will be with thee, whithersoeuer thou goest.
Não to mandei eu? esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo; não pasmes, nem te espantes: porque o Senhor teu Deus é contigo, por onde quer que andares.
10 Then Ioshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
Então deu ordem Josué aos príncipes do povo, dizendo:
11 Passe through the hoste, and commande the people, saying, Prepare you vitailes: for after three dayes ye shall passe ouer this Iorden, to goe in to possesse the lande, which the Lord your God giueth you to possesse it.
Passai pelo meio do arraial, e ordenai ao povo, dizendo: Provei-vos de comida, porque dentro de três dias passareis este Jordão, para que entreis a possuir a terra que vos dá o Senhor vosso Deus, que possuais.
12 And vnto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to halfe the tribe of Manasseh spake Ioshua, saying,
E falou Josué aos rubenitas, e aos gaditas, e à meia tribo de Manasseh, dizendo:
13 Remember the worde, which Moses the seruant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath giuen you rest, and hath giuen you this land.
Lembrai-vos da palavra que vos mandou Moisés, o servo do Senhor, dizendo: O Senhor vosso Deus vos dá descanço, e vos dá esta terra.
14 Your wiues, your children, and your cattell shall remaine in the land which Moses gaue you on this side Iorden: but ye shall goe ouer before your brethren armed, all that be men of warre, and shall helpe them,
Vossas mulheres, vossos meninos e vosso gado fiquem na terra que Moisés vos deu desta banda do Jordão; porém vós passareis armados na frente de vossos irmãos, todos os valentes e valorosos, e ajuda-los-eis;
15 Vntill the Lord haue giuen your brethren rest, as well as to you, and vntill they also shall possesse the land, which the Lord your God giueth them: then shall ye returne vnto the lande of your possession and shall possesse it, which land Moses the Lordes seruant gaue you on this side Iorden toward the sunne rising.
Até que o Senhor dê descanço a vossos irmãos, como a vós, e eles também possuam a terra que o Senhor vosso Deus lhes dá; então tornareis à terra da vossa herança, e possuireis a que vos deu Moisés, o servo do Senhor, desta banda do Jordão, para o nascente do sol.
16 Then they answered Ioshua, saying, Al that thou hast commanded vs, we will doe, and whithersoeuer thou sendest vs, we will goe.
Então responderam a Josué, dizendo: Tudo quanto nos ordenaste faremos, e onde quer que nos enviares iremos.
17 As we obeyed Moses in all things, so will we obey thee: onely the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
Como em tudo ouvimos a Moisés, assim te ouviremos a ti: tão somente que o Senhor teu Deus seja contigo, como foi com Moisés.
18 Whosoeuer shall rebell against thy commandement, and will not obey thy wordes in all that thou commaundest him, let him bee put to death: onely be strong and of good courage.
Todo o homem, que for rebelde à tua boca, e não ouvir as tuas palavras em tudo quanto lhe mandares, morrerá: tão somente esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo.
