Joshua 7
1 But the children of Israel committed a trespasse in the excommunicate thing: for Achan the sonne of Carmi, the sonne of Zabdi, the sonne of Zerah of the tribe of Iuda tooke of the excommunicate thing: wherfore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel.
| و بنی‌اسرائیل در آنچه حرام شده بود خیانت ورزیدند، زیرا عخان ابن کرمی ابن زبدی ابن زارح از سبط یهودا، از آنچه حرام شده بود گرفت، و غضب خداوند بر بنی‌اسرائیل افروخته شد. | ۱ |
2 And Ioshua sent men from Iericho to Ai, which is beside Bethauen, on ye East side of Bethel, and spake vnto them, saying, Goe vp, and view the countrey. And ye men went vp, and viewed Ai,
| و یوشع از اریحا تا عای که نزد بیت آون به طرف شرقی بیت ئیل واقع است، مردان فرستاد وایشان را خطاب کرده، گفت: «بروید و زمین راجاسوسی کنید.» پس آن مردان رفته، عای راجاسوسی کردند. | ۲ |
3 And returned to Ioshua, and saide vnto him, Let not al the people go vp, but let as it were two or three thousand men go vp, and smite Ai, and make not al the people to labour thither, for they are fewe.
| و نزد یوشع برگشته، او راگفتند: «تمامی قوم برنیایند؛ به قدر دو یا سه هزارنفر برآیند و عای را بزنند و تمامی قوم را به آنجازحمت ندهی زیرا که ایشان کم‌اند.» | ۳ |
4 So there went vp thither of the people about three thousande men, and they fledde before the men of Ai.
| پس قریب به سه هزار نفر از قوم به آنجا رفتند و از حضورمردان عای فرار کردند. | ۴ |
5 And the men of Ai smote of them vpon a thirtie and sixe men: for they chased them from before the gate vnto Shebarim, and smote them in the going downe: wherfore the heartes of the people melted away like water.
| و مردان عای از آنها به قدر سی و شش نفر کشتند و از پیش دروازه تاشباریم ایشان را تعاقب نموده، ایشان را در نشیب زدند، و دل قوم گداخته شده، مثل آب گردید. | ۵ |
6 Then Ioshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth vpon his face before the Arke of the Lord, vntill the euentide, he, and the Elders of Israel, and put dust vpon their heads.
| و یوشع و مشایخ اسرائیل جامه خود راچاک زده، پیش تابوت خداوند تا شام رو به زمین افتادند، و خاک به‌سرهای خود پاشیدند. | ۶ |
7 And Ioshua said, Alas, O Lord God, wherefore hast thou brought this people ouer Iorden, to deliuer vs into the hande of the Amorites, and to destroye vs? would God we had bene content to dwell on the other side Iorden.
| و یوشع گفت: «آه‌ای خداوند یهوه برای چه این قوم را از اردن عبور دادی تا ما را به‌دست اموریان تسلیم کرده، ما را هلاک کنی، کاش راضی شده بودیم که به آن طرف اردن بمانیم. | ۷ |
8 Oh Lord, what shall I say, when Israel turne their backes before their enemies?
| آه‌ای خداوندچه بگویم بعد از آنکه اسرائیل از حضور دشمنان خود پشت داده‌اند. | ۸ |
9 For the Canaanites, and all the inhabitants of the land shall heare of it, and shall compasse vs, and destroy our name out of the earth: and what wilt thou doe vnto thy mightie Name?
| زیرا چون کنعانیان و تمامی ساکنان زمین این را بشنوند دور ما را خواهندگرفت و نام ما را از این زمین منقطع خواهند کرد، و تو به اسم بزرگ خود چه خواهی کرد؟» | ۹ |
10 And the Lord said vnto Ioshua, Get thee vp: wherefore lyest thou thus vpon thy face?
| خداوند به یوشع گفت: «برخیز چرا تو به این طور به روی خود افتاده‌ای. | ۱۰ |
11 Israel hath sinned, and they haue transgressed my couenant, which I commanded them: for they haue euen taken of the excommunicate thing, and haue also stollen, and dissembled also, and haue put it euen with their owne stuffe.
| اسرائیل گناه کرده، و از عهدی نیز که به ایشان امر فرمودم تجاوز نموده‌اند و از چیز حرام هم گرفته، دزدیده‌اند، بلکه انکار کرده، آن را در اسباب خودگذاشته‌اند. | ۱۱ |
12 Therefore ye children of Israel cannot stand before their enemies, but haue turned their backes before their enemies, because they be execrable: neither will I bee with you any more, except ye destroy the excommunicate from among you.
| از این سبب بنی‌اسرائیل نمی توانندبه حضور دشمنان خود بایستند و از حضوردشمنان خود پشت داده‌اند، زیرا که ملعون شده‌اند، و اگر چیز حرام را از میان خود تباه نسازید، من دیگر با شما نخواهم بود. | ۱۲ |
13 Vp therefore, sanctifie the people, and say, Sanctifie your selues against to morowe: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, There is an execrable thing among you, O Israel, therefore ye cannot stand against your enemies, vntill ye haue put the execrable thing from among you.
| برخیزقوم را تقدیس نما و بگو برای فردا خویشتن راتقدیس نمایید، زیرا یهوه خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: ای اسرائیل چیزی حرام در میان توست و تا این چیز حرام را از میان خود دور نکنی، پیش روی دشمنان خود نمی توانی‌ایستاد. | ۱۳ |
14 In the morning therefore ye shall come according to your tribes, and the tribe which the Lord taketh, shall come according to the families: and the familie which the Lord shall take, shall come by the housholds: and the houshold which the Lord shall take, shall come man by man.
| پس بامدادان، شما موافق اسباط خود نزدیک بیایید، وچنین شود که سبطی را که خداوند انتخاب کند به قبیله های خود نزدیک آیند، و قبیله‌ای را که خداوند انتخاب کند به خاندانهای خود نزدیک بیایند، و خاندانی را که خداوند انتخاب کند به مردان خود نزدیک آیند. | ۱۴ |
15 And he that is taken with the excommunicate thing, shall be burnt with fire, hee, and all that he hath, because he hath transgressed the couenant of the Lord, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
| و هر‌که آن چیز حرام نزد او یافت شود با هر‌چه دارد به آتش سوخته شود، زیرا که از عهد خداوند تجاوز نموده، قباحتی در میان اسرائیل به عمل آورده است.» | ۱۵ |
16 So Ioshua rose vp earely in the morning and brought Israel by their tribes: and the tribe of Iudah was taken.
| پس یوشع بامدادان بزودی برخاسته، اسرائیل را به اسباط ایشان نزدیک آورد و سبطیهودا گرفته شد. | ۱۶ |
17 And he brought the families of Iudah, and tooke the familie of the Zarhites, and he brought the familie of the Zarhites, man by man, and Zabdi was taken.
| و قبیله یهودا را نزدیک آوردو قبیله زارحیان گرفته شد. پس قبیله زارحیان رابه مردان ایشان نزدیک آورد و زبدی گرفته شد. | ۱۷ |
18 And he brought his houshold, man by man, and Achan ye sonne of Carmi, the sonne of Zabdi, the sonne of Zerah of the tribe of Iudah was take.
| و خاندان او را به مردان ایشان نزدیک آورد وعخان بن کرمی ابن زبدی بن زارح از سبط یهوداگرفته شد. | ۱۸ |
19 Then Ioshua said vnto Achan, My sonne, I beseech thee, giue glory to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession vnto him, and shewe me now what thou hast done: hide it not from me.
| و یوشع به عخان گفت: «ای پسر من الان یهوه خدای اسرائیل را جلال بده و نزد اواعتراف نما و مرا خبر بده که چه کردی و از مامخفی مدار.» | ۱۹ |
20 And Achan answered Ioshua, and saide, In deede, I haue sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and thus, and thus haue I done.
| عخان در جواب یوشع گفت: «فی الواقع به یهوه خدای اسرائیل گناه کرده، وچنین و چنان به عمل آورده‌ام. | ۲۰ |
21 I sawe among the spoyle a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundreth shekels of siluer, and a wedge of golde of fiftie shekels weight, and I coueted them, and tooke them: and behold, they lye hid in the earth in the mids of my tent, and the siluer vnder it.
| چون در میان غنیمت ردایی فاخر شنعاری و دویست مثقال نقره و یک شمش طلا که وزنش پنجاه مثقال بوددیدم، آنها را طمع‌ورزیده، گرفتم، و اینک درمیان خیمه من در زمین است و نقره زیر آن می‌باشد.» | ۲۱ |
22 Then Ioshua sent messengers, which ran vnto the tent, and beholde, it was hid in his tent, and the siluer vnder it.
| آنگاه یوشع رسولان فرستاد و به خیمه دویدند، و اینک در خیمه او پنهان بود و نقره زیرآن. | ۲۲ |
23 Therefore they tooke them out of the tent, and brought them vnto Ioshua, and vnto all the children of Israel, and layd them before the Lord.
| و آنها را از میان خیمه گرفته، نزد یوشع وجمیع بنی‌اسرائیل آوردند و آنها را به حضورخداوند نهادند. | ۲۳ |
24 Then Ioshua tooke Achan the sonne of Zerah, and the siluer, and the garment and the wedge of golde and his sonnes, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheepe, and his tent, and all that hee had: and all Israel with him brought them vnto the valley of Achor.
| و یوشع و تمامی بنی‌اسرائیل با وی عخان پسر زارح و نقره و ردا و شمش طلا وپسرانش و دخترانش و گاوانش و حمارانش وگوسفندانش و خیمه‌اش و تمامی مایملکش راگرفته، آنها را به وادی عخور بردند. | ۲۴ |
25 And Ioshua said, In as much as thou hast troubled vs, the Lord shall trouble thee this day: and all Israel threwe stones at him, and burned them with fire, and stoned them with stones.
| و یوشع گفت: «برای چه ما را مضطرب ساختی؟ خداوندامروز تو را مضطرب خواهد ساخت.» پس تمامی اسرائیل او را سنگسار کردند و آنها را به آتش سوزانیدند و ایشان را به سنگها سنگسار کردند. | ۲۵ |
26 And they cast vpon him a great heape of stones vnto this day: and so the Lord turned from his fierce wrath: therefore hee called the name of that place, The valley of Achor, vnto this day.
| و توده بزرگ از سنگها بر او برپا داشتند که تا به امروز هست، و خداوند از شدت غضب خودبرگشت، بنابراین اسم آن مکان تا امروز وادی عخور نامیده شده است. | ۲۶ |
