< Joshua 6 >
1 Now Iericho was shut vp, and closed, because of the children of Israel: none might go out nor enter in.
Wàyí o, a ti há Jeriko mọ́lé gágá nítorí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, ẹnikẹ́ni kò jáde, ẹnikẹ́ni kò sì wọlé.
2 And the Lord saide vnto Ioshua, Behold, I haue giuen into thine hand Iericho and the King thereof, and the strong men of warre.
Nígbà náà ni Olúwa wí fún Joṣua pé, “Wò ó, mo ti fi Jeriko lé ọ lọ́wọ́ pẹ̀lú ọba rẹ̀ àti àwọn jagunjagun rẹ̀.
3 All ye therefore that be men of warre, shall compasse the citie, in going round about the citie once: thus shall you doe sixe dayes:
Ẹ wọ́de ogun yí ìlú náà ká lẹ́ẹ̀kan pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn jagunjagun. Ẹ ṣe èyí fún ọjọ́ mẹ́fà.
4 And seuen Priests shall beare seuen trumpets of rams hornes before the Arke: and the seuenth day ye shall compasse the citie seuen times, and the Priests shall blow with the trumpets.
Jẹ́ kí àwọn àlùfáà méje gbé fèrè ìwo àgbò ní iwájú àpótí ẹ̀rí. Ní ọjọ́ keje, ẹ wọ́de ogun yí ìlú náà ká ní ìgbà méje, pẹ̀lú àwọn àlùfáà tí ń fọn fèrè.
5 And when they make a long blast with the rams horne, and ye heare the sound of the trumpet, al the people shall shoute with a great shoute: then shall the wall of the citie fall downe flat, and the people shall ascend vp, euery man streight before him.
Nígbà tí ẹ bá gbọ́ ohùn fèrè náà, kí àwọn ènìyàn hó yèè ní igbe ńlá, nígbà náà ni odi ìlú náà yóò sì wó lulẹ̀, àwọn ènìyàn yóò sì lọ sí òkè, olúkúlùkù yóò sì wọ inú rẹ̀ lọ tààrà.”
6 Then, Ioshua the sonne of Nun called the Priests and said vnto them, Take vp the Arke of the couenant, and let seuen Priests beare seuen trumpets of rams hornes before the Arke of the Lord.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Joṣua ọmọ Nuni pe àwọn àlùfáà ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹ gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa náà kí àwọn àlùfáà méje tí ó ru fèrè ìwo wà ní iwájú u rẹ̀.”
7 But he said vnto the people, Goe and compasse the citie: and let him that is armed, go forth before the Arke of the Lord.
Ó sì pàṣẹ fún àwọn ènìyàn náà pé, “Ẹ lọ, kí ẹ sì yí ìlú náà ká pẹ̀lú àwọn olùṣọ́ tí ó hámọ́ra kọjá ní iwájú àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa.”
8 And when Ioshua had spoken vnto the people, the seuen Priestes bare the seuen trumpets of rams hornes, and went foorth before the Arke of the Lord, and blew with the trumpets, and the Arke of the couenant of ye Lord followed them.
Nígbà tí Joṣua ti bá àwọn ènìyàn sọ̀rọ̀ tán, àwọn àlùfáà méje tí wọ́n gbé fèrè méje ní iwájú Olúwa kọjá sí iwájú, wọ́n sì fọn fèrè wọn, àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sì tẹ̀lé wọn.
9 And the men of armes went before the Priestes, that blewe the trumpets: then the gathering hoste came after the Arke, as they went and blewe the trumpets.
Àwọn olùṣọ tí ó hámọ́ra sì lọ níwájú àwọn àlùfáà tí ń fọn fèrè, olùṣọ́ ẹ̀yìn sì tẹ̀lé àpótí ẹ̀rí náà. Ní gbogbo àsìkò yìí fèrè sì ń dún.
10 (Nowe Ioshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall nor shout, neither make any noyse with your voyce, neither shall a worde proceede out of your mouth, vntill the day that I say vnto you, Shout, then shall ye shoute)
Ṣùgbọ́n Joṣua tí pàṣẹ fún àwọn ènìyàn pé, “Ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ kígbe ogun, ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ gbé ohùn yín sókè, ẹ má ṣe sọ ọ̀rọ̀ kan títí ọjọ́ tí èmi yóò sọ fún un yín pé kí ẹ hó. Nígbà náà ni ẹ̀yin yóò sì hó!”
11 So the Arke of the Lord compassed the citie, and went about it once: then they returned into the hoaste, and lodged in the campe.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó mú kí àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa yí ìlú náà ká, ó sì yí i ká lẹ́ẹ̀kan. Nígbà náà ni àwọn ènìyàn náà padà sí ibùdó, wọ́n sì gbé ibẹ̀ fún alẹ́ náà.
12 And Ioshua rose early in the morning, and the Priestes bare the Arke of the Lord:
Joṣua sì dìde ní kùtùkùtù òwúrọ̀ ọjọ́ kejì, àwọn àlùfáà sì gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa.
13 Also seuen Priests bare seuen trumpets of rams hornes, and went before the Arke of the Lord, and going blewe with the trumpets: and the men of armes went before them, but the gathering hoste came after the Arke of the Lord, as they went and blewe the trumpets.
Àwọn àlùfáà méje tí ó gbé ìpè ìwo àgbò méje ń lọ níwájú àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa, wọ́n sì ń fọ́n àwọn ìpè: àwọn tí ó hámọ́ra ogun ń lọ níwájú u wọn; àwọn ọmọ tó wà lẹ́yìn sì ń tọ àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa lẹ́yìn, àwọn àlùfáà sì ń fọn ìpè bí wọ́n ti ń lọ.
14 And the second day they compassed the citie once, and returned into the host: thus they did sixe dayes.
Ní ọjọ́ kejì, wọ́n yí ìlú náà ká lẹ́ẹ̀kan wọ́n sì padà sí ibùdó. Wọ́n sì ṣe èyí fún ọjọ́ mẹ́fà.
15 And when the seuenth day came, they rose early, euen with the dawning of the day, and compassed the citie after ye same maner seuen times: only that day they compassed the citie seuen times.
Ní ọjọ́ keje, wọ́n dìde ní kùtùkùtù òwúrọ̀ ní àfẹ̀mọ́júmọ́, wọ́n sì wọ́de ogun yí ìlú náà ká ní ìgbà méje, gẹ́gẹ́ bí i ti ìṣáájú, ní ọjọ́ keje nìkan ṣoṣo ni wọ́n wọ́de ogun yí ìlú náà ká nígbà méje.
16 And when the Priests had blowen ye trumpets the seuenth time, Ioshua said vnto ye people, Shoute: for the Lord hath giuen you the citie.
Ní ìgbà keje, nígbà tí àwọn àlùfáà fọn fèrè, Joṣua pàṣẹ fún àwọn ènìyàn pé, “Ẹ hó! Nítorí pé Olúwa ti fún un yín ní ìlú náà.
17 And the citie shalbe an execrable thing, both it, and all that are therein, vnto the Lord: onely Rahab the harlot shall liue, shee, and all that are with her in the house: for shee hid the messengers that we sent.
Ìlú náà àti gbogbo ohun tí ó wà níbẹ̀ ni yóò jẹ́ ìyàsọ́tọ̀ fún Olúwa. Rahabu tí ó jẹ́ panṣágà nìkan àti gbogbo àwọn tí ó wà pẹ̀lú u rẹ̀ ni a ó dá sí; nítorí tí ó pa àwọn ayọ́lẹ̀wò tí á rán mọ́.
18 Notwithstanding, be ye ware of the execrable thing, lest ye make your selues execrable, and in taking of the execrable thing, make also the hoste of Israel execrable, and trouble it.
Ẹ pa ara yín mọ́ kúrò nínú ohun ìyàsọ́tọ̀ fún ìparun, kí ẹ̀yin kí ó má ba à ṣojú kòkòrò nípa mímú nínú àwọn ohun ìyàsọ́tọ̀. Bí kò ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ ẹ ó sọ ibùdó Israẹli di ìparun. Kí ẹ sì mú wàhálà wá sórí i rẹ̀.
19 But all siluer, and gold, and vessels of brasse, and yron shalbe consecrate vnto the Lord, and shall come into the Lordes treasury.
Gbogbo fàdákà àti wúrà àti ohun èlò idẹ àti irin jẹ́ mímọ́ fún Olúwa, wọ́n yóò wá sínú ìṣúra Olúwa.”
20 So the people shouted, whe they had blowen trumpets: for when the people had heard the sound of the trumpet, they shouted with a great shoute: and the wall fel downe flat: so the people went vp into the citie, euery man streight before him: and they tooke the citie.
Nígbà tí àwọn àlùfáà fọn ìpè, àwọn ènìyàn náà sì hó. Ó sì ṣe, bí àwọn ènìyàn ti gbọ́ ìró ìpè, tí àwọn ènìyàn sì hó ìhó ńlá, odi ìlú náà wó lulẹ̀ bẹẹrẹ; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni olúkúlùkù ya wọ inú ìlú náà lọ tààrà, wọ́n sì kó ìlú náà.
21 And they vtterly destroyed all that was in the citie, both man and woman, yong, and olde, and oxe, and sheepe, and asse, with the edge of the sword.
Wọ́n ya ìlú náà sọ́tọ̀ fún Olúwa àti fún ìparun, wọ́n sì fi idà run gbogbo ohun alààyè ní ìlú náà—ọkùnrin àti obìnrin, ọ́mọdé, àti àgbà, màlúù, àgùntàn àti kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́.
22 But Ioshua had said vnto the two men that had spied out the countrey, Go into the harlots house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware to her.
Joṣua sì sọ fún àwọn ọkùnrin méjì tí wọ́n ti wá ṣe ayọ́lẹ̀wò ilẹ̀ náà pé, “Ẹ lọ sí ilé panṣágà nì, kí ẹ sì mu jáde àti gbogbo ohun tí í ṣe tirẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ tí búra fún un.”
23 So the yong men that were spies, went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that shee had: also they brought out all her familie, and put them without the host of Israel.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ní àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin tí ó lọ ṣe ayọ́lẹ̀wò wọlé lọ, wọ́n sì mú Rahabu jáde, baba rẹ̀, ìyá rẹ̀, àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ àti ohun gbogbo tí ó ní. Wọ́n sì mú gbogbo ìdílé rẹ̀ jáde, wọ́n sì fi wọ́n sí ibìkan ní ìta ibùdó àwọn ará Israẹli.
24 After they burnt the citie with fire, and all that was therein: onely the siluer and the gold, and the vessels of brasse and yron, they put vnto the treasure of the house of the Lord.
Nígbà náà ni wọ́n sun gbogbo ìlú náà àti gbogbo ohun tí ó wà nínú u rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n fi fàdákà, wúrà ohun èlò idẹ àti irin sínú ìṣúra ilé Olúwa.
25 So Ioshua saued Rahab the harlot, and her fathers houshold, and all that shee had; and shee dwelt in Israel euen vnto this day, because shee had hid the messengers, which Ioshua sent to spie out Iericho.
Ṣùgbọ́n Joṣua dá Rahabu panṣágà pẹ̀lú gbogbo ìdílé e rẹ̀ àti gbogbo ẹni tí í ṣe tirẹ̀ sí nítorí pé, ó pa àwọn ọkùnrin tí Joṣua rán gẹ́gẹ́ bí ayọ́lẹ̀wò sí Jeriko mọ́. Ó sì ń gbé láàrín ará Israẹli títí di òní yìí.
26 And Ioshua sware at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before ye Lord, that riseth vp, and buildeth this citie Iericho: hee shall lay the foundation thereof in his eldest sonne, and in his yongest sonne shall hee set vp the gates of it.
Ní àkókò náà Joṣua sì búra pé, “Ègún ni fún ẹni náà níwájú Olúwa tí yóò dìde, tí yóò sì tún ìlú Jeriko kọ́: “Pẹ̀lú ikú àkọ́bí ọmọ rẹ̀ ni yóò fi pilẹ̀ rẹ̀; ikú àbíkẹ́yìn rẹ̀ ní yóò fi gbé ìlẹ̀kùn bodè rẹ̀ ró.”
27 So the Lord was with Ioshua, and he was famous through all the world.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Olúwa wà pẹ̀lú Joṣua; òkìkí rẹ̀ sì kàn ká gbogbo ilẹ̀ náà.
