Joshua 3
1 Then Ioshua rose very earely, and they remoued from Shittim, and came to Iorden, he, and all the children of Israel, and lodged there, before they went ouer.

2 And after three dayes the officers went throughout the hoste,
Na, i te paunga o nga ra e toru, ka haere nga rangatira na waenganui o te puni;
3 And commanded the people, saying, When ye see the Arke of the couenat of the Lord your God, and the Priestes of the Leuites bearing it, ye shall depart from your place, and goe after it.
A ka whakahau i te iwi, ka mea, E kite koutou i te aaka o te kawenata a Ihowa, a to koutou Atua, i nga tohunga hoki, i nga Riwaiti e amo ana, hei kona ka whakatika atu i o koutou nohoanga, ka haere i muri.
4 Yet there shalbe a space betweene you and it, about two thousande cubites by measure: ye shall not come neere vnto it, that ye may knowe the way, by the which ye shall goe: for ye haue not gone this way in times past.

5 (Nowe Ioshua had saide vnto the people, Sanctifie your selues: for to morowe the Lord will doe wonders among you)

6 Also Ioshua spake vnto the Priestes, saying, Take vp the Arke of the couenant, and goe ouer before the people: so they tooke vp the Arke of the couenant, and went before the people.
I mea ano a Hohua ki nga tohunga, Hapainga ake te aaka o te kawenata, haere i mua i te iwi. A hapainga ana e ratou te aaka o te kawenata, a haere ana i mua i te iwi.
7 Then the Lord saide vnto Ioshua, This day will I begin to magnifie thee in the sight of all Israel, which shall knowe, that as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee.
A ka mea a Ihowa ki a Hohua, Ko aianei ahau timata ai te whakanui i a koe ki te aroaro o Iharaira katoa, kia mohio ai ratou, i a mohi ahau, ka pera ano ahau ki a koe.
8 Thou shalt therefore command the Priests that beare the Arke of the Couenant, saying, When ye are come to the brinke of the waters of Iorden, ye shall stande still in Iorden.
A mau e whakahau ki nga tohunga e amo ana i te aaka o te kawenata, e mea, E tae koutou ki te tapa o te wai o Horano, me ata tu i roto i Horano.
9 Then Ioshua said vnto the children of Israel, Come hither, and heare the wordes of the Lord your God.
Na ka mea a Hohua ki nga tama a Iharaira, Haere mai, whakarongo ki nga kupu a Ihowa, a to koutou Atua.
10 And Ioshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the liuing God is among you, and that he will certainely cast out before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hiuites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Iebusites.
Na ka mea a Hohua, Ma konei koutou ka mohio ai kei roto i a koutou te Atua ora, a ka peia rawatia e ia i to koutou aroaro nga Kanaani, nga Hiti, nga Hiwi, nga Perihi, nga Kirikahi, nga Amori, me nga Iepuhi.
11 Beholde, the Arke of the couenant of the Lord of all the worlde passeth before you into Iorden.
Nana, ko te aaka o te kawenata a te Ariki o te ao katoa te haere nei i mua i a koutou ki roto o Horano.
12 Nowe therefore take from among you twelue men out of the tribes of Israel, out of euery tribe a man.
Na motuhia ki a koutou kia tekau ma rua tangata o nga iwi o Iharaira, kia takikotahi te tangata o te iwi.
13 And assoone as the soles of the feete of the Priestes (that beare the Arke of the Lord God the Lord of all the worlde) shall stay in the waters of Iorden, the waters of Iorden shall be cut off: for the waters that come from aboue, shall stande still vpon an heape.
A, ina tatu nga kapu o nga waewae o nga tohunga e amo ana i te aaka a Ihowa, a te Ariki o te ao katoa, ki nga wai o Horano, ka motuhia nga wai o Horano, ara nga wai e rere mai ana i runga; a ka tu ake, kotahi ano puranga.
14 Then when the people were departed from their tentes to goe ouer Iorden, the Priestes bearing the Arke of the Couenant, went before people.
A, no te haerenga atu o te iwi i o ratou teneti ki te whakawhiti i Horano, me nga tohunga hoki e amo ana i te aaka o te kawenata i mua i te iwi;
15 And as they that bare the Arke came vnto Iorden, and the feete of the Priestes that bare the Arke were dipped in the brinke of the water, (for Iorden vseth to fill all his bankes all the time of haruest)
A, i te taenga o nga kaiamo i te aaka ki Horano, i te tukunga atu hoki o nga waewae o nga tohunga e amo ana i te aaka ki te taha o te wai; e ngawha ana hoki a Horano ki runga i ona pareparenga katoa i nga ra katoa o te kotinga;
16 Then the waters that came downe from aboue, stayed and rose vpon an heape and departed farre from the citie of Adam, that was beside Zaretan: but the waters that came downe towarde the Sea of the wildernes, euen the salt Sea, failed, and were cut off: so the people went right ouer against Iericho.
Ko te tino turanga o nga wai e heke iho ana i runga, ara ake ana kotahi ano puranga, i tawhiti noa atu i te pa i Arama, i te taha o Haretana: a, ko nga wai e rere iho ana ki te moana o te mania, ki te Moana Tote, mimiti ana, motu ke atu ana: a w hiti ana te iwi i te ritenga atu o Heriko.
17 But the Priestes that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, stoode drie within Iorden readie prepared, and all the Israelites went ouer dry, vntill all the people were gone cleane ouer through Iorden.
A tu marie ana nga tohunga i amo nei i te aaka o te kawenata a Ihowa i te wahi maroke i waenganui o Horano, me te haere ano a Iharaira katoa ki tawahi na te wahi maroke, a poto noa te iwi katoa te whiti i Horano.
