Joshua 22
1 Then Ioshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the halfe tribe of Manasseh,
Entonces Josué llamó a los rubenitas, los gaditas y la media tribu de Manasés
2 And sayd vnto them, Ye haue kept all that Moses the seruaunt of the Lord commanded you, and haue obeied my voice in all that I commanded you:
y les dijo: Ustedes guardaron todo lo que Moisés, esclavo de Yavé, les mandó, y en todo lo que les ordené obedecieron mi voz.
3 You haue not forsaken your brethren this long season vnto this day, but haue diligently kept the commandement of the Lord your God.
No abandonaron a sus hermanos en este largo tiempo hasta hoy, sino se cuidaron de guardar el mandamiento de Yavé su ʼElohim.
4 And nowe the Lord hath giuen rest vnto your brethren as he promised them: therefore nowe returne ye and goe to your tentes, to the land of your possession, which Moses the seruant of the Lord hath giuen you beyond Iorden.
Ahora cuando Yavé su ʼElohim dio reposo a sus hermanos, como les prometió, regresen a sus tiendas, a la tierra de sus posesiones que Moisés, esclavo de Yavé, les dio al otro lado del Jordán.
5 But take diligent heede, to doe the commandement and Lawe, which Moses the seruant of the Lord commanded you: that is, that ye loue the Lord your God, and walke in all his wayes, and keepe his commandements, and cleaue vnto him, and serue him with all your heart and with all your soule.
Solamente tengan mucho cuidado de observar el mandamiento y la enseñanza que Moisés, esclavo de Yavé, les ordenó: amar a Yavé su ʼElohim y andar en todos sus caminos, guardar sus Mandamientos y aferrarse a Él, y servirle con todo su corazón y con toda su alma.
6 So Ioshua blessed them and sent them away, and they went vnto their tents.
Josué los bendijo y los despidió, y ellos regresaron a sus tiendas.
7 Nowe vnto one halfe of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had giuen a possession in Bashan: and vnto the other halfe thereof gaue Ioshua among their brethren on this side Iorden Westwarde: therefore when Ioshua sent them away vnto their tents, and blessed them,
Moisés dio posesión en Basán a la media tribu de Manasés, pero a la otra media tribu Josué le dio herencia entre sus hermanos hacia el oeste, al otro lado del Jordán. También Josué bendijo a aquéllos cuando los envió a sus tiendas
8 Thus he spake vnto them, saying, Returne with much riches vnto your tents, and with a great multitude of cattell, with siluer and with golde, with brasse and with yron, and with great abundance of rayment: deuide the spoyle of your enemies with your brethren.
y les habló: Regresen a sus tiendas con riquezas abundantes, con mucho ganado, plata, oro, bronce, hierro y muchas ropas. ¡Repartan el despojo de sus enemigos con sus hermanos!
9 So the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and halfe the tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel from Shiloh (which is in the land of Canaan) to goe vnto the countrey of Gilead to the land of their possession, which they had obteyned, according to ye word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
Entonces los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés regresaron desde Silo, que está en la tierra de Canaán, y se fueron de entre los hijos de Israel a la tierra de Galaad, a la tierra de sus heredades donde se establecieron, la cual recibieron según el mandato de Yavé por medio de Moisés.
10 And when they came vnto the borders of Iorden (which are in the land of Canaan) then the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and the halfe tribe of Manasseh, built there an altar by Iorden, a great altar to see to.
Cuando los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés llegaron a la región del Jordán que está en la tierra de Canaán, edificaron un altar de apariencia grandiosa junto al Jordán.
11 When the children of Israel heard say, Beholde, the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and the halfe tribe of Manasseh haue built an altar in the forefront of the lande of Canaan vpon the borders of Iorden at the passage of the children of Israel:
Los hijos de Israel oyeron decir: Miren, los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés edificaron un altar en la frontera de la tierra de Canaán en la región del Jordán, en el lado de los hijos de Israel.
12 When the children of Israel heard it, then the whole Congregation of the children of Israel gathered them together at Shiloh to goe vp to warre against them.
Cuando los hijos de Israel oyeron esto, toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel se reunió en Silo para subir a luchar contra ellos.
13 Then the children of Israel sent vnto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to ye halfe tribe of Manasseh into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the sonne of Eleazar the Priest,
Los hijos de Israel enviaron a Finees, hijo del sacerdote Eleazar, a la tierra de Galaad, a los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés.
14 And with him ten princes, of euery chiefe house a prince, according to all the tribes of Israel: for euery one was chiefe of their fathers housholde among the thousands of Israel.
También enviaron a diez jefes, un jefe de cada casa paterna de todas las tribus de Israel, cada uno de los cuales era jefe de su casa paterna entre los millares de Israel.
15 So they went vnto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the halfe tribe of Manasseh, vnto the land of Gilead, and spake with them, saying,
Ellos fueron a los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés, en la tierra de Galaad, y les hablaron:
16 Thus saith the whole congregation of the Lord, What transgression is this that ye haue transgressed against the God of Israel, to turne away this day from the Lord, in that ye haue built you an altar for to rebell this day against the Lord?
Toda la congregación de Yavé dice así: ¿Qué traición es ésta que ustedes cometieron contra el ʼElohim de Israel, al apartarse hoy de seguir a Yavé, y construírse un altar para rebelarse contra Yavé?
17 Haue we too litle for the wickednesse of Peor, whereof we are not clensed vnto this day, though a plague came vpon the Congregation of the Lord?
¿No es suficiente la iniquidad de Peor, de la cual aún no fuimos limpiados hasta hoy, aunque hubo una mortandad en la congregación de Yavé?
18 Ye also are turned away this day from the Lord: and seeing ye rebell to day against ye Lord, euen to morowe he will be wroth with all the Congregation of Israel.
¡Ustedes se apartan hoy de seguir a Yavé! Sucederá que porque se rebelaron hoy contra Yavé, en lo futuro Él estará airado contra toda la congregación de Israel.
19 Notwithstanding if the land of your possession be vncleane, come ye ouer vnto the land of the possession of the Lord, wherein the Lordes Tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among vs: but rebell not against the Lord, nor rebell not against vs in building you an altar, beside the altar of the Lord our God.
Si les parece que la tierra de su posesión es impura, pásense a la tierra de la posesión de Yavé en la cual está el Tabernáculo de Yavé, y tomen posesión entre nosotros. Pero no se rebelen contra Yavé, ni se rebelen contra nosotros al edificarse un altar además del altar de Yavé, nuestro ʼElohim.
20 Did not Achan ye sonne of Zerah trespasse grieuously in the execrable thing, and wrath fell on all the Congregation of Israel? and this man alone perished not in his wickednesse.
¿No cometió Acán, hijo de Zera, un acto de infidelidad con las cosas que estaban bajo maldición, y cayó la ira sobre toda la congregación de Israel? Y aquel hombre no fue el único que pereció por su iniquidad.
21 Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad, and halfe the tribe of Manasseh answered, and saide vnto the heads ouer the thousands of Israel,
Entonces los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés respondieron a los jefes de los millares de Israel:
22 The Lord God of gods, the Lord God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel himselfe shall know: if by rebellion, or by transgression against ye Lord we haue done it, saue thou vs not this day.
Yavé, ʼEL de ʼElohim, Yavé, ʼEL de ʼElohim, Él sabe, y que lo sepa ahora el mismo Israel. Si fue rebelión o traición contra Yavé, no nos salves hoy.
23 If we haue built vs an altar to returne away from the Lord, either to offer thereon burnt offering, or meate offering, or to offer peace offerings thereon, let the Lord himselfe require it:
Si edificamos un altar para apartarnos de seguir a Yavé, para sacrificar holocausto u ofrenda sobre él, o para hacer sobre él sacrificios de paz, el mismo Yavé nos pida cuenta.
24 And if we haue not rather done it for feare of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might say vnto our children, What haue ye to doe with the Lord God of Israel?
Pero ciertamente hicimos esto por preocupación, por una razón, y dijimos: En el porvenir, sus hijos pueden decir a nuestros hijos: ¿Qué tienen ustedes que hacer con Yavé, ʼElohim de Israel?
25 For the Lord hath made Iorden a border betweene vs and you, ye children of Reuben, and of Gad: therefore ye haue no part in the Lord: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the Lord.
Yavé puso el Jordán como frontera entre nosotros y ustedes, oh hijos de Rubén e hijos de Gad, ustedes no tienen parte en Yavé. Y así sus hijos harían que nuestros hijos dejen de temer a Yavé.
26 Therefore we said, We will nowe go about to make vs an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice,
Por tanto dijimos: Apresurémonos a edificarnos un altar, no para holocausto ni para sacrificio,
27 But it shall be a witnesse betweene vs and you, and betweene our generations after vs, to execute the seruice of the Lord before him in our burnt offerings, and in our sacrifices, and in our peace offerings, and that your children should not say to our children in time to come, Ye haue no part in the Lord.
sino será un testimonio entre nosotros y ustedes, y entre nuestras generaciones después de nosotros, que nosotros debemos realizar el servicio de Yavé en su presencia, con nuestras ofrendas quemadas, con nuestros sacrificios, y con nuestros sacrificios de paz, de modo que los hijos de ustedes no digan en lo futuro a nuestros hijos: Ustedes no tienen parte en Yavé.
28 Therefore said we, If so be that they should so say to vs or to our generations in time to come, then will we answere, Beholde the facion of the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering nor for sacrifice, but it is a witnesse betweene vs and you.
Por tanto dijimos: Sucederá que, si ellos nos dicen esto a nosotros o a nuestras generaciones futuras, responderemos: Miren la réplica del altar de Yavé, la cual nuestros antepasados hicieron, no para holocaustos o sacrificios, sino para que sea un testigo entre nosotros y ustedes.
29 God forbid, that we should rebell against the Lord, and turne this day away from the Lord to builde an altar for burnt offering, or for meate offering, or for sacrifice, saue the altar of the Lord our God, that is before his Tabernacle.
Nunca acontezca que nos rebelemos contra Yavé, o que nos apartemos hoy de seguir a Yavé al edificar un altar para holocaustos, ofrenda o sacrificio, aparte del altar de Yavé nuestro ʼElohim que está delante de su Tabernáculo.
30 And when Phinehas the Priest, and the princes of the Congregation and heads ouer the thousands of Israel which were with him, heard the wordes, that the children of Reuben, and children of Gad, and the children of Manasseh spake, they were well content.
Finees, el sacerdote, los jefes de la congregación y los jefes de los millares de Israel que estaban con él, escucharon las palabras que hablaron los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Manasés, y les pareció bien.
31 And Phinehas the sonne of Eleazar the Priest said vnto the children of Reuben and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceiue, that the Lord is among vs, because ye haue not done this trespasse against the Lord: nowe ye haue deliuered the children of Israel out of the hand of the Lord.
Entonces Finees, hijo del sacerdote Eleazar, dijo a los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Manasés: Hoy entendemos que Yavé está entre nosotros, pues ustedes no cometieron esta rebelión contra Yavé. Así libraron a los hijos de Israel de la mano de Yavé.
32 Then Phinehas the sonne of Eleazar the Priest with the princes returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, vnto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them answere.
Finees, hijo del sacerdote Eleazar, y los jefes volvieron de estar con los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad en la tierra de Galaad, a la tierra de Canaán, a los hijos de Israel, y les dieron la respuesta.
33 And the saying pleased the children of Israel: and the children of Israel blessed God, and minded not to goe against them in battell, for to destroy the land, wherein the children of Reuben, and Gad dwelt.
El informe agradó a los hijos de Israel, y bendijeron a ʼElohim, y no hablaron más de subir contra ellos en guerra para destruir la tierra en la cual vivían los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad.
34 Then the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witnesse betweene vs, that the Lord is God.
Los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad llamaron el altar Testigo, porque es un testigo entre nosotros con respecto a que Yavé es ʼElohim.
