Joshua 2
1 Then Ioshua the sonne of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spie secretly, saying, Go, view the land, and also Iericho: and they went, and came into an harlots house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
Ary Josoa, zanak’ i Nona, dia naniraka mpisafo roa lahy mangingina avy tany Sitima ka niteny taminy hoe: Mandehana, izahao ny tany, indrindra fa Jeriko. Dia niainga izy roa lahy ary niditra tao an-tranon’ ny vehivavy janga anankiray atao hoe Rahaba, ka nandry tao.
2 Then report was made to the King of Iericho, saying, Beholde, there came men hither to night, of the children of Israel, to spie out the countrey.
Ary nisy nilaza tamin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Jeriko hoe: Injao, misy olona avy tamin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely tonga atỳ izao alina izao hisafo ny tany.
3 And the King of Iericho sent vnto Rahab, saying, Bring foorth the men that are come to thee, and which are entred into thine house: for they be come to search out all the land.
Dia naniraka tao amin’ i Rahaba ny mpanjakan’ i Jeriko ka nanao hoe: Avoahy ireo lehilahy tonga ato an-tranonao ireo; fa hisafo ny tany no nihaviany.
4 (But ye woman had taken the two men, and hid them) Therefore saide she thus, There came men vnto me, but I wist not whence they were.
Dia nalain-dravehivavy izy roa lahy ka nafeniny ary hoy izy: Tonga tatỳ amiko ihany tokoa ireny lehilahy ireny, nefa tsy fantatro izay nihaviany;
5 And when they shut the gate in the darke, the men went out, whither the men went I wote not: follow ye after them quickly, for ye shall ouertake them.
ary rehefa maizina ny andro, ka hohidiana ny vavahady, dia lasa nivoaka izy, ka tsy fantatro indray izay nalehany; enjeho faingana izy, fa ho tratranareo.
6 (But she had brought them vp to the roofe of the house, and hidde them with the stalkes of flaxe, which she had spread abroad vpon the roofe)
Kanjo efa nampiakarin-dravehivavy any an-tampon-trano izy ka nafeniny ao amin’ ny tahon-drongony, izay efa nalahany teo amin’ ny tampon-trano.
7 And certaine men pursued after them, the way to Iorden, vnto the foordes, and as soone as they which pursued after them, were gone out, they shut the gate.
Ary ireo olona dia nanenjika azy tamin’ ny lalana mankany Jordana hatrany amin’ ny fitàna; ary rehefa lasa nivoaka izay nanenjika azy, dia nohidiana ny vavahady.
8 And before they were a sleepe, she came vp vnto them vpon the roofe,
Ary raha mbola tsy natory izy roa lahy, dia niakatra nankao aminy tao an-tampontrano ravehivavy
9 And saide vnto the men, I knowe that the Lord hath giuen you the land, and that the feare of you is fallen vpon vs, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
ka nanao taminy hoe: Fantatro fa efa nomen’ i Jehovah anareo ny tany, ary efa latsaka aminay ny fahatahorana anareo, sady efa ketraka ny mponina rehetra amin’ ny tany noho ny tahotra anareo.
10 For we haue heard, howe the Lord dried vp the water of the redde Sea before you, when you came out of Egypt, and what you did vnto the two Kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Iorden, vnto Sihon and to Og, whom ye vtterly destroyed:
Fa efa renay ny nanamainan’ i Jehovah ny Ranomasina Mena teo anoloanareo tamin’ ny nivoahanareo avy tany Egypta, sy izay nataonareo tamin’ ny mpanjaka roa tamin’ ny Amorita, izay tany an-dafin’ i Jordana, dia Sihona sy Oga, izay novonoinareo.
11 And when wee heard it, our heartes did faint, and there remained no more courage in any because of you: for the Lord your God, he is the God in heauen aboue, and in earth beneath.
Koa nony efa renay izany, dia ketraka ny fonay, ka very hevitra avokoa izahay noho ny aminareo; fa Jehovah Andriamanitrareo, Izy no Andriamanitra any amin’ ny lanitra ambony sy etỳ amin’ ny tany ambany.
12 Now therefore, I pray you, sweare vnto me by the Lord; that as I haue shewed you mercie, ye will also shewe mercie vnto my fathers house, and giue me a true token,
Koa ankehitriny, masìna ianareo, mba ianiano amin’ i Jehovah aho fa araka ny namindrako fo taminareo no mba hamindranareo fo amin’ ny ankohonan’ ny raiko kosa, ka omeo famantarana mahatoky aho
13 And that yee will saue aliue my father and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they haue: and that yee will deliuer our soules from death.
fa hovelominareo ny raiko sy ny reniko sy ny anadahiko sy ny rahavaviko ary izay rehetra mety ho azy; dia hamonjy ny ainay tsy ho faty ianareo.
14 And the men answered her, Our life for you to die, if ye vtter not this our businesse: and when the Lord hath giuen vs the lande, we will deale mercifully and truely with thee.
Dia hoy izy roa lahy taminy: Ny ainay no ho faty hisolo anareo, raha tsy holazainareo izao raharahanay izao; ary raha omen’ i Jehovah anay ny tany, dia hamindra fo sy hanao izay marina aminao izahay.
15 Then she let them downe by a corde thorowe the windowe: for her house was vpon the towne wall, and she dwelt vpon the wall.
Dia nampidina azy tamin’ ny mahazaka avy teo amin’ ny varavarankely izy; fa teo amin’ ny màndan’ ny tanàna ny tranony, ary teo amin’ ny manda no nitoerany.
16 And she said vnto them, Goe you into the mountaine, least the pursuers meete with you, and hide your selues there three dayes, vntill the pursuers be returned: then afterwarde may yee goe your way.
Dia hoy izy taminy: Mandehana any an-tendrombohitra, fandrao hifanena aminareo ny mpanenjika, ka miere any hateloana mandra-piveriny; ary rehefa afaka izany, dia vao mandehana any amin’ izay halehanareo.
17 And the men said vnto her, We will be blamelesse of this thine othe, which thou hast made vs sweare.
Ary hoy izy roa lahy taminy: Izao no tsy hanananay tsiny ny amin’ izany fianianana nampianianinao anay izany:
18 Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this cord of red threde in the window, whereby thou lettest vs downe, and thou shalt bring thy father and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy fathers houshold home to thee.
Indro, rehefa tonga eto amin’ ny tany izahay, dia hafehinao eo amin’ ny varavarankely izay nampidinanao anay io kofehy jaky io; ary ny rainao sy ny reninao sy ny anadahinao mbamin’ ny ankohonan’ ny rainao rehetra dia hovorinao ho ao an-tranonao;
19 And whosoeuer then doeth goe out at the doores of thine house into the streete, his blood shalbe vpon his head, and we will be giltlesse: but whosoeuer shall be with thee in the house, his blood shalbe on our head, if any hande touch him:
ary izay rehetra mivoaka eo am-baravaran’ ny tranonao ho eny ivelany, dia ho eo an-dohany ihany ny ràny, ary izahay tsy hanan-tsiny; fa izay rehetra mitoetra ao aminao ao an-trano, dia ho eo an-dohanay kosa ny ràny, raha tàhiny misy olona maninona azy akory;
20 And if thou vtter this our matter, we will be quite of thine othe, which thou hast made vs sweare.
fa raha tàhiny hambarambaranao izao raharahanay izao, dia ho afaka amin’ ny fianianana izay nampianianinao anay izahay.
21 And she answered, According vnto your wordes, so be it: then she sent them away, and they departed, and she bound the red cord in ye window.
Dia hoy ravehivavy: Eny ary, fa marina izany. Dia nampandehaniny izy roa lahy, ka lasa izy; ary nafehiny teo amin’ ny varavarankely ilay kofehy jaky.
22 And they departed, and came into the mountaine, and there abode three dayes, vntil the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but founde them not.
Dia nandeha izy roa lahy ka nankany an-tendrombohitra ary nitoetra tany hateloana mandra-piverin’ ny mpanenjika; ary nitady azy tamin’ ny lalana rehetra ny mpanenjika, nefa tsy nahita.
23 So the two men returned, and descended from the mountaine, and passed ouer, and came to Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and tolde him all things that came vnto them.
Dia niverina izy roa lahy ka nidina avy tany an-tendrombohitra, dia nita ny ony ary nankany amin’ i Josoa, zanak’ i Nona, ka nilaza ny zavatra rehetra izay efa nihatra taminy,
24 Also they saide vnto Ioshua, Surely the Lord hath deliuered into our handes all the lande: for euen all the inhabitants of the countrey faint because of vs.
ka hoy izy tamin’ i Josoa: Efa natolotr’ i Jehovah eo an-tanantsika tokoa ny tany rehetra; ary efa ketraka ny mponina rehetra amin’ ny tany noho ny tahotra antsika.
