Joshua 16
1 And the lot fell to the children of Ioseph from Iorden by Iericho vnto the water of Iericho Eastward, and to the wildernes that goeth vp from Iericho by the mount Beth-el:
La frontera para el reparto a los descendientes de José iba desde el Jordán cerca de Jericó, luego al este de las fuentes de Jericó y a través del desierto desde Jericó hasta la región montañosa de Betel.
2 And goeth out from Beth-el to Luz, and runneth along vnto the borders of Archiataroth,
Desde Betel (o Luz) continuaba hasta el límite de Atarot el arquita.
3 And goeth down Westward to the coast of Iaphleti, vnto the coast of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gezer: and the endes thereof are at the Sea.
Luego descendía hacia el oeste hasta el límite de los jafletitas y el límite de la parte baja de Bet-horón, hasta Gezer, y luego hasta el mar.
4 So the children of Ioseph, Manasseh and Ephraim tooke their inheritance.
Esta fue la asignación que recibieron los descendientes de José, Efraín y Manasés.
5 Also the borders of the children of Ephraim according to their families, euen the borders of their inheritance on the Eastside were Atroth-addar, vnto Beth-horon the vpper.
Este fue el territorio asignado a la tribu de Efraín, por familias. El límite de su asignación iba desde Atarot-addar, en el este, hasta la parte alta de Bet-horón
6 And this border goeth out to the Sea vnto Michmethah on the Northside, and this border returneth Eastward vnto Taanathshiloh, and passeth it on the Eastside vnto Ianohah,
y luego hasta el mar. Desde Micmetat, en el norte, el límite giraba hacia el este, pasando por Tanat-Siló, al este de Janoa.
7 And goeth downe from Ianohah to Ataroth, and Naarath, and commeth to Iericho, and goeth out at Iorden.
Desde Janoa bajaba hasta Atarot y Nará, luego tocaba Jericó y terminaba en el Jordán.
8 And this border goeth from Tappuah Westward vnto the riuer Kanah, and the endes thereof are at the Sea: this is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
Desde Tapúaj, el límite corría hacia el oeste hasta el arroyo de Caná y luego salía al mar. Esta era la tierra asignada a la tribu de Efraín, por familias.
9 And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh: all the cities with their villages.
También se le asignaron a la tribu de Efraín algunas ciudades con sus aldeas que estaban en la tierra asignada a la tribu de Manasés.
10 And they cast not out the Canaanite that dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanite dwelt among the Ephraimites vnto this day, and serued vnder tribute.
Sin embargo, no expulsaron a los cananeos que vivían en Gezer, por lo que los cananeos viven en medio de la tribu de Efraín hasta el día de hoy, pero sometidos a trabajos forzados.
