Joshua 15
1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Iudah by their families: euen to the border of Edom and the wildernesse of Zin, Southward on the Southcoast.
Esta fue la tierra asignada a la tribu de Judá, por familias: se extendía hacia el sur hasta la frontera de Edom, hasta el desierto de Zin en el extremo sur.
2 And their South border was the salt Sea coast, from the point that looketh Southward.
Su frontera comenzaba en el extremo del Mar Salado – la bahía que mira hacia el sur —
3 And it went out on the Southside towarde Maaleth-akrabbim, and went along to Zin, and ascended vp on the Southside vnto Kadesh-barnea, and went along to Hezron, and went vp to Adar, and fet a compasse to Karkaa.
Hai luego iba hacia el sur del Paso de los escorpiones, a través del desierto de Zin, para luego dirigirse al sur de Cades-barnea hasta Hezrón. Desde allí subía hasta Adar y luego giraba hacia Carca,
4 From thence went it along to Azmon, and reached vnto the riuer of Egypt, and the end of that coast was on the Westside: this shall be your South coast.
pasando por Azmon y saliendo al Wadi de Egipto, terminando en el mar. Esta era su frontera sur.
5 Also the Eastborder shalbe the salt Sea, vnto the end of Iorden: and the border on the North quarter from the point of the Sea, and from the end of Iorden.
La frontera oriental de Judá era el Mar Salado, hasta donde termina el río Jordán. El límite septentrional iba desde la bahía septentrional del mar donde termina el Jordán,
6 And this border goeth vp to Beth-hogla, and goeth along by ye Northside of Beth-arabah: so the border from thence goeth vp to the stone of Bohan the sonne of Reuben.
hasta el límite de Bet-Joglá, y luego al norte de Bet-arabá hasta la Piedra de Bohán (hijo de Rubén).
7 Againe this border goeth vp to Debir from the valley of Achor, and Northwarde, turning toward Gilgal, that lyeth before the going vp to Adummim, which is on the Southside of the riuer: also this border goeth vp to the waters of En-shemesh, and endeth at En-rogel.
Desde allí iba hasta el límite de Debir por el valle de Acor, y giraba al norte hacia Gilgal, frente a las alturas de Adumín, al sur del valle. Luego el límite continuaba hasta las aguas de En-semes y hasta En-rogel.
8 Then this border goeth vp to the valley of the sonne of Hinnom; on the Southside of the Iebusites: the same is Ierusalem. also this border goeth vp to the top of the mountaine that lyeth before the valley of Hinnom Westward, which is by the end of the valley of ye gyants Northward.
El límite pasaba entonces por el valle de Ben-Hinón, a lo largo de la ladera sur de los jebuseos, (es decir, Jerusalén), y luego subía a la cima de la montaña que domina el valle de Hinón hasta el extremo norte del valle de Refayín.
9 So this border compasseth from the top of the mountaine vnto the fountaine of the water of Nephtoah, and goeth out to the cities of mount Ephron: and this border draweth to Baalah, which is Kiriath-iearim.
Desde allí, el límite iba desde la cima de la montaña hasta el manantial de agua de Neftoa y hasta las ciudades del monte Efrón. Luego se doblaba hacia Balá (Quiriath-Yearín).
10 Then this border compasseth from Baalah Westward vnto mount Seir, and goeth along vnto the side of mount Iearim, which is Chesalon on the Northside: so it commeth downe to Bethshemesh, and goeth to Timnah.
Luego el límite daba la vuelta al oeste de Baalá hasta el monte Seir y pasaba por la ladera norte del monte Yearín hasta la ciudad de Kesalón, bajaba a Bet Semes y seguía hasta Timná.
11 Also this border goeth out vnto the side of Ekron Northwarde: and this border draweth to Shicron, and goeth along to mount Baalah, and stretcheth vnto Iabneel: and the endes of this coast are to the Sea.
El límite seguía hasta la ladera norte de Ecrón y se doblaba hacia Siquerón, pasando por el monte Balá, hasta Jabneel y terminaba en el mar.
12 And the Westborder is to the great Sea: so this border shalbe the bounds of the children of Iudah round about, according to their families.
El límite occidental era la costa del Gran Mar. Estos eran los límites alrededor de la tribu de Judá, por familias.
13 And vnto Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh did Ioshua giue a part among the children of Iudah, as the Lord commanded him, euen Kiriath-arba of the father of Anak, which is Hebron.
El Señor le había ordenado a Josué que asignara algunas tierras en el territorio de Judá a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, y así se le dio la ciudad de Quiriat-arba, o Hebrón. (Arba era el padre de Anac).
14 And Caleb droue thence three sonnes of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the sonnes of Anak.
Caleb expulsó a tres grupos familiares: Sesay, Ajimán y Talmai, descendientes de Anac.
15 And he went vp thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before time was Kiriath-sepher.
Desde allí fue a atacar a los habitantes de Debir (antes conocida como Quiriat-sefer).
16 Then Caleb sayd, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, euen to him wil I giue Achsah my daughter to wife.
Caleb anunció: “Al que ataque a Quiriat-sefer y lo capture, le daré a mi hija Acsa para que se case con él”.
17 And Othniel, the sonne of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb tooke it: and he gaue him Achsah his daughter to wife.
Otniel, hijo de Quenaz, hermano de Caleb, capturó la ciudad, por lo que Caleb le dio a su hija Acsa para que se casara.
18 And as she went in to him, she moued him, to aske of her father a fielde: and she lighted off her asse, and Caleb sayd vnto her, What wilt thou?
Cuando ella se acercó, él laconvenció para que le pidiera un campo a su padre. Y cuando ella se bajó del asno, Caleb le preguntó: “¿Qué quieres?”.
19 Then she answered, Giue me a blessing: for thou hast giuen mee the South countrey: giue me also springs of water. And hee gaue her the springs aboue and the springs beneath.
Ella respondió: “Por favor, dame una bendición. Ya que me has dado una tierra que es como el desierto, por favor, te pido que también me des manantiales de agua”. Entonces él le dio tanto el manantial superior como el inferior.
20 This shalbe the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Iudah according to their families.
Esta fue la tierra asignada a la tribu de Judá, por familias.
21 And the vtmost cities of the tribe of the children of Iudah, toward the coastes of Edom Southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Iagur,
Las ciudades para la tribu de Judá en el extremo sur, en la frontera con Edom: Cabzeel, Edar, Jagur,
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
Quiná, Dimoná, Adadá,
23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
Cedes, Jazor, Itnán,
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
Zif, Telén, Bealot,
25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, Hesron (which is Hazor)
Jazor-jadatá, Queriot-Jezrón (o Jazor),
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,
Amán, Semá, Moladá,
27 And Hazar, Gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,
Jazar-Gadá, Hesmón, Bet-pelet,
28 And Hasar-shual, and Beersheba, and Biziothiah,
Jazar-súal, Beerseba, Biziotiá,
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,
Balá, Iyín, Esen,
30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,
Eltolad, Quesil, Jormá,
31 And Ziklag, and Madmanna, and Sansannah,
Siclag, Madmana, Sansaná,
32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all these cities are twentie and nine with their villages.
Lebaot, Sijín, Ayín, y Rimón, es decir, veintinueve ciudades con sus aldeas.
33 In the lowe countrey were Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,
Las ciudades de las estribaciones occidentales: Estaol, Zora, Asena,
34 And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,
Zanoa, Enganín, Tapúaj, Enam,
35 Iarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,
Jarmut, Adulán, Soco, Azeca,
36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim: fourteene cities with their villages.
Sajarayin, Aditatin, Guederá, y Guederotayin, es decir, diez ciudades con sus aldeas.
37 Zenam, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,
También: Zenán, Jadasá, Migdal-gad,
38 And Dileam, and Mizpeh, and Ioktheel,
Dileán, Mizpa, Joctel,
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
Laquis, Bocat, Eglón,
40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,
Cabón, Lajmás, Quitlís,
41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah: sixteene cities with their villages.
Guederot, Bet-dagón, Noamá, y Maceda, es deicr, diez ciudades con sus aldeas.
42 Lebnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
Además: Libná, Éter, Asán,
43 And Iipthtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
Jifta, Asena, Nezib,
44 And Keilah, and Aczib, and Mareshah: nine cities with their villages.
Queilá, Aczib y Maresá. Es decir, nueve ciudades con sus aldeas.
45 Ekron with her townes and her villages,
Ecrón, con sus ciudades y aldeas,
46 From Ekron, euen vnto the Sea, all that lyeth about Ashdod with their villages.
desde Ecrón hasta el mar las ciudades cercanas a Asdod y sus aldeas,
47 Ashdod with her townes and her villages: Azzah with her townes and her villages, vnto the riuer of Egypt, and the great Sea was their coast.
Asdod y sus ciudades con sus aldeas, y Gaza con sus ciudades y aldeas, hasta el Wadi de Egipto, y a lo largo de la costa del mar.
48 And in the mountaines were Shamir, and Iattir, and Socoh,
En la región de las colinas: Samir, Jatir, Soco,
49 And Dannah, and Kiriath-sannath (which is Debir)
Daná, Quiriat Saná (o Debir),
50 And Anab, and Ashtemoth, and Anim,
Anab, Estemoa, Anín,
51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh: eleuen cities with their villages,
Gosén, Holón y Guiló. Es decir, once ciudades con sus aldeas.
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,
También: Arab, Dumá, Esán,
53 And Ianum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,
Yanún, Bet-tapúaj, Afecá,
54 And Humtah, and Kiriath-arba, (which is Hebron) and Zior: nine cities with their villages.
Humtá, Quiriat-arba (o Hebrón), y Sior. Es decir, nueve ciudades con sus aldeas.
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Iuttah,
Además: Maón, Carmelo, Zif, Yutá,
56 And Izreel, and Iokdeam, and Zanoah,
Jezrel, Jocdeán, Zanoa,
57 Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah: ten cities with their villages.
Caín, Guibeá y Timná. Es deicr, diez ciudades con sus aldeas.
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,
También: Jaljul, Betsur, Guedor,
59 And Maarah, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon: sixe cities with their villages.
Marat, Beth Anot y Eltecón. Es decir, seis ciudades con sus aldeas.
60 Kiriath-baal, which is Kiriath-iearim, and Rabbah: two cities with their villages.
Además: Quiriat Baal (o Quiriat-Yearín) y Rabá. Es decir, dos ciudades con sus aldeas.
61 In the wildernes were Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,
En el desierto: Bet-arabá, Midín, Secacá,
62 And Nibshan, and the citie of salt, and Engedi: sixe cities with their villages.
Nibsán, la Ciudad de la Sal, y Engadi. Es decir, seis ciudades con sus aldea.
63 Neuerthelesse, the Iebusites that were the inhabitants of Ierusalem, could not the children of Iudah cast out, but the Iebusites dwell with the children of Iudah at Ierusalem vnto this day.
Sin embargo, la tribu de Judá no pudo expulsar a los jebuseos, los habitantes de Jerusalén, por lo que los jebuseos viven entre la tribu de Judá en Jerusalén hasta el día de hoy.
