Joshua 15
1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Iudah by their families: euen to the border of Edom and the wildernesse of Zin, Southward on the Southcoast.
യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിനു കുലംകുലമായി ലഭിച്ച അവകാശഭൂമി തെക്കേ ദേശത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും തെക്കേ അറ്റത്ത് ഏദോം ദേശംവരെയും സീൻമരുഭൂമിവരെയും വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടന്നു.
2 And their South border was the salt Sea coast, from the point that looketh Southward.
അവരുടെ തെക്കേ അതിര് ഉപ്പുകടലിന്റെ തെക്കേ അറ്റത്തുള്ള ഉൾക്കടലിൽ തുടങ്ങി;
3 And it went out on the Southside towarde Maaleth-akrabbim, and went along to Zin, and ascended vp on the Southside vnto Kadesh-barnea, and went along to Hezron, and went vp to Adar, and fet a compasse to Karkaa.
അക്രബീം മലമ്പാതയുടെ തെക്കുഭാഗം കടന്നു, സീനിൽക്കൂടി കാദേശ്-ബർന്നേയയുടെ തെക്കുവരെ നീണ്ടുകിടന്നിരുന്നു. അവിടെനിന്നും ഹെസ്രോൻ കടന്ന് ആദാരിൽ കയറി കാർക്കയെ ചുറ്റി;
4 From thence went it along to Azmon, and reached vnto the riuer of Egypt, and the end of that coast was on the Westside: this shall be your South coast.
വീണ്ടും അസ്മോനിലേക്കു കടന്ന് ഈജിപ്റ്റിന്റെ തോടുമായി യോജിച്ചു മെഡിറ്ററേനിയൻ സമുദ്രത്തിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു. ഇതാണ് അവരുടെ തെക്കേ അതിര്.
5 Also the Eastborder shalbe the salt Sea, vnto the end of Iorden: and the border on the North quarter from the point of the Sea, and from the end of Iorden.
കിഴക്കേ അതിര് യോർദാൻനദി ഉപ്പുകടലിൽ ചെന്നുചേരുന്ന അഴിമുഖംവരെയാകുന്നു. വടക്കേ അതിര് യോർദാന്റെ അഴിമുഖത്തുള്ള ഉൾക്കടലിൽ തുടങ്ങി,
6 And this border goeth vp to Beth-hogla, and goeth along by ye Northside of Beth-arabah: so the border from thence goeth vp to the stone of Bohan the sonne of Reuben.
ബേത്-ഹൊഗ്ലായിൽ ചെന്ന് ബേത്-അരാബയുടെ വടക്കുകൂടി കടന്ന് രൂബേന്റെ മകനായ ബോഹാന്റെ കല്ലുവരെ കിടക്കുന്നു.
7 Againe this border goeth vp to Debir from the valley of Achor, and Northwarde, turning toward Gilgal, that lyeth before the going vp to Adummim, which is on the Southside of the riuer: also this border goeth vp to the waters of En-shemesh, and endeth at En-rogel.
പിന്നെ ആ അതിര് ആഖോർതാഴ്വരമുതൽ ദെബീരിൽ കയറി, വടക്കോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞ്, മലയിടുക്കിന് തെക്കുള്ള അദുമ്മീം മലമ്പാതയ്ക്കെതിരേയുള്ള ഗിൽഗാലിൽ എത്തുന്നു. അവിടെനിന്ന് ഏൻ-ശേമെശ് അരുവിയിലേക്കു കടന്ന് ഏൻ-രോഗേലിൽ എത്തുന്നു.
8 Then this border goeth vp to the valley of the sonne of Hinnom; on the Southside of the Iebusites: the same is Ierusalem. also this border goeth vp to the top of the mountaine that lyeth before the valley of Hinnom Westward, which is by the end of the valley of ye gyants Northward.
പിന്നെ ആ അതിര് ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയിൽക്കൂടി കയറി, യെബൂസ്യപട്ടണമായ ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ തെക്കേ ചരിവിൽക്കൂടി കടന്ന്, രെഫായീം താഴ്വരയുടെ വടക്കേ അറ്റത്തുള്ള ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറുള്ള മലമുകളിലേക്കു കയറുന്നു.
9 So this border compasseth from the top of the mountaine vnto the fountaine of the water of Nephtoah, and goeth out to the cities of mount Ephron: and this border draweth to Baalah, which is Kiriath-iearim.
മലമുകളിൽനിന്ന് അത് നെപ്തോഹയിലെ നീരുറവയിലേക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞ് എഫ്രോൻ മലയിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ എത്തുന്നു; അവിടെനിന്ന് കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീം എന്ന ബാലായിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങുന്നു.
10 Then this border compasseth from Baalah Westward vnto mount Seir, and goeth along vnto the side of mount Iearim, which is Chesalon on the Northside: so it commeth downe to Bethshemesh, and goeth to Timnah.
പിന്നെ അത് ബാലാമുതൽ സേയിർമലവരെ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു വളഞ്ഞു കെസാലോൻ എന്ന യെയാരിം മലയുടെ വടക്കേ ചരിവിൽക്കൂടി ബേത്-ശേമെശിലേക്കിറങ്ങി തിമ്നയിൽ എത്തുന്നു.
11 Also this border goeth out vnto the side of Ekron Northwarde: and this border draweth to Shicron, and goeth along to mount Baalah, and stretcheth vnto Iabneel: and the endes of this coast are to the Sea.
പിന്നെ എക്രോന്റെ വടക്കേ ചരിവിൽ ചെന്നു ശിക്രോനിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു ബാലാമലയിലേക്കു കടന്നു യബ്നേലിൽ എത്തി മെഡിറ്ററേനിയൻ സമുദ്രത്തിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.
12 And the Westborder is to the great Sea: so this border shalbe the bounds of the children of Iudah round about, according to their families.
പടിഞ്ഞാറേ അതിര് മെഡിറ്ററേനിയൻ മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ തീരംതന്നെ. യെഹൂദാമക്കൾക്കു കുലംകുലമായി ലഭിച്ച അവകാശത്തിന്റെ അതിരുകൾ ഇവയാണ്.
13 And vnto Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh did Ioshua giue a part among the children of Iudah, as the Lord commanded him, euen Kiriath-arba of the father of Anak, which is Hebron.
യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടനുസരിച്ച് യോശുവ യെഹൂദയുടെ ഒരു ഭാഗമായ കിര്യത്ത്-അർബാ എന്ന ഹെബ്രോൻ യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബിന് യെഹൂദാമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഓഹരിയായിട്ടു കൊടുത്തു. (അർബാ അനാക്കിന്റെ പൂർവപിതാവ് ആയിരുന്നു)
14 And Caleb droue thence three sonnes of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the sonnes of Anak.
ഹെബ്രോനിൽനിന്ന് ശേശായി, അഹീമാൻ, തൽമായി എന്നിങ്ങനെ അനാക്കിന്റെ പിൻഗാമികളായ മൂന്ന് അനാക്യകുലങ്ങളെ കാലേബ് ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
15 And he went vp thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before time was Kiriath-sepher.
അവിടെനിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ദെബീർനിവാസികൾക്കെതിരേയുള്ള യുദ്ധത്തിന് അണിനിരന്നു. ദെബീറിന്റെ പഴയപേർ കിര്യത്ത്-സേഫെർ എന്നായിരുന്നു.
16 Then Caleb sayd, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, euen to him wil I giue Achsah my daughter to wife.
അപ്പോൾ കാലേബ്, “കിര്യത്ത്-സേഫെർ ആക്രമിച്ചു കീഴടക്കുന്നവന് ഞാൻ എന്റെ മകൾ അക്സയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്തുകൊടുക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 And Othniel, the sonne of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb tooke it: and he gaue him Achsah his daughter to wife.
കാലേബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ കെനസിന്റെ മകൻ ഒത്നിയേൽ അതു കീഴടക്കി; അങ്ങനെ കാലേബ് തന്റെ മകൾ അക്സയെ അവനു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു.
18 And as she went in to him, she moued him, to aske of her father a fielde: and she lighted off her asse, and Caleb sayd vnto her, What wilt thou?
അക്സ ഒത്നിയേലിനെ വിവാഹംകഴിച്ച ദിവസം, തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഒരു വയൽ ചോദിക്കാൻ അവൾ ഒത്നിയേലിനെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചു; അവൾ കഴുതപ്പുറത്തുനിന്നിറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ കാലേബ് അവളോട്, “നിനക്കു ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരണം?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
19 Then she answered, Giue me a blessing: for thou hast giuen mee the South countrey: giue me also springs of water. And hee gaue her the springs aboue and the springs beneath.
അവൾ മറുപടിയായി, “ഒരു അനുഗ്രഹംകൂടി എനിക്കു തരണമേ; അങ്ങ് എനിക്കു തെക്കേദേശമാണല്ലോ തന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്. നീരുറവകളുംകൂടി എനിക്കു തരേണമെ” എന്നപേക്ഷിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ട് കാലേബ് അവൾക്കു മലകളിലും താഴ്വരകളിലും നീരുറവകൾ കൊടുത്തു.
20 This shalbe the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Iudah according to their families.
യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിനു കുലംകുലമായി കിട്ടിയ അവകാശഭൂമി ഇതാണ്:
21 And the vtmost cities of the tribe of the children of Iudah, toward the coastes of Edom Southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Iagur,
യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിന് ഏദോമിന്റെ അതിർത്തിക്കു സമീപം തെക്കേ അറ്റത്തുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ഇവയാകുന്നു: കബ്സെയേൽ, ഏദെർ, യാഗൂർ,
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
കീനാ, ദിമോനാ, അദാദാ,
23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
കേദേശ്, ഹാസോർ, ഇത്നാൻ;
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
സീഫ്, തേലെം, ബെയാലോത്ത്,
25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, Hesron (which is Hazor)
ഹാസോർ-ഹദത്ഥാ, കെരീയോത്ത്-ഹെസ്രോൻ എന്ന ഹാസോർ;
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,
അമാം, ശേമ, മോലാദാ
27 And Hazar, Gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,
ഹസർ-ഗദ്ദാ, ഹെശ്മോൻ, ബേത്-പേലെത്,
28 And Hasar-shual, and Beersheba, and Biziothiah,
ഹസർ-ശൂവാൽ, ബേർ-ശേബ, ബിസോത്യാ,
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,
ബാലാ, ഇയ്യീം, ഏസെം;
30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,
എൽതോലദ്, കെസീൽ, ഹോർമാ,
31 And Ziklag, and Madmanna, and Sansannah,
സിക്ലാഗ്, മദ്മന്ന, സൻസന്ന;
32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all these cities are twentie and nine with their villages.
ലെബായോത്ത, ശിൽഹിം, ആയിൻ, രിമ്മോൻ; ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുപത്തൊൻപതു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളുംതന്നെ.
33 In the lowe countrey were Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,
പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ കുന്നിൻപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ: എസ്തായോൽ, സോരാ, അശ്നാ;
34 And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,
സനോഹ, ഏൻ-ഗന്നീം, തപ്പൂഹ, ഏനാം,
35 Iarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,
യർമൂത്ത്, അദുല്ലാം, സോഖോ, അസേക്ക,
36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim: fourteene cities with their villages.
ശയരയീം, അദീഥയീം, ഗെദേരാ അഥവാ, ഗെദെരോഥയീം; ഇങ്ങനെ പതിന്നാലു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
37 Zenam, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,
സെനാൻ, ഹദാശ, മിഗ്ദൽ-ഗാദ്,
38 And Dileam, and Mizpeh, and Ioktheel,
ദിലാൻ, മിസ്പാ, യൊക്തെയേൽ,
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
ലാഖീശ്, ബൊസ്കത്ത്, എഗ്ലോൻ,
40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,
കബ്ബോൻ, ലഹ്മാസ്, കിത്ലീശ്;
41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah: sixteene cities with their villages.
ഗെദേരോത്ത്, ബേത്-ദാഗോൻ, നയമാ, മക്കേദാ ഇങ്ങനെ പതിനാറുപട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
42 Lebnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
ലിബ്നാ, ഏഥെർ, ആശാൻ;
43 And Iipthtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
യിഫ്താഹ്, അശ്നാ, നെസീബ്;
44 And Keilah, and Aczib, and Mareshah: nine cities with their villages.
കെയീല, അക്സീബ്, മാരേശാ; ഇങ്ങനെ ഒൻപതു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
45 Ekron with her townes and her villages,
എക്രോനും അതിനപ്പുറമുള്ള അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
46 From Ekron, euen vnto the Sea, all that lyeth about Ashdod with their villages.
എക്രോനു പടിഞ്ഞാറ് അശ്ദോദിന്റെ സമീപപ്രദേശങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും,
47 Ashdod with her townes and her villages: Azzah with her townes and her villages, vnto the riuer of Egypt, and the great Sea was their coast.
അശ്ദോദും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും ഗസ്സായും മെഡിറ്ററേനിയൻ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ തീരം, ഈജിപ്റ്റുതോട് എന്നിവവരെയുള്ള അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
48 And in the mountaines were Shamir, and Iattir, and Socoh,
മലനാട്ടിൽ: ശമീർ, യത്ഥീർ, സോഖോ;
49 And Dannah, and Kiriath-sannath (which is Debir)
ദന്ന, ദെബീർ എന്ന കിര്യത്ത്-സന്ന,
50 And Anab, and Ashtemoth, and Anim,
അനാബ്, എസ്തെമോ, ആനീം,
51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh: eleuen cities with their villages,
ഗോശെൻ, ഹോലോൻ, ഗീലോ; ഇപ്രകാരം പതിനൊന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,
അരാബ്, രൂമാ, എശാൻ,
53 And Ianum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,
യാനീം, ബേത്-തപ്പൂഹാ, അഫേക്കാ,
54 And Humtah, and Kiriath-arba, (which is Hebron) and Zior: nine cities with their villages.
ഹുമ്ത, ഹെബ്രോൻ എന്ന കിര്യത്ത്-അർബാ, സീയോർ; ഇങ്ങനെ ഒൻപതു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Iuttah,
മാവോൻ, കർമേൽ, സീഫ്, യുത്ത;
56 And Izreel, and Iokdeam, and Zanoah,
യെസ്രീൽ, യോക്ദെയാം, സനോഹ,
57 Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah: ten cities with their villages.
കയീൻ, ഗിബെയാ, തിമ്ന—ഇങ്ങനെ പത്തു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,
ഹൽ-ഹൂൽ, ബേത്ത്-സൂർ, ഗെദോർ,
59 And Maarah, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon: sixe cities with their villages.
മാരാത്ത്, ബേത്-അനോത്ത്, എൽതെക്കോൻ—ഇങ്ങനെ ആറു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;
60 Kiriath-baal, which is Kiriath-iearim, and Rabbah: two cities with their villages.
കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീം എന്ന കിര്യത്ത്-ബാൽ, രബ്ബ; ഇങ്ങനെ രണ്ടു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും.
61 In the wildernes were Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,
മരുഭൂമിയിൽ: ബേത്-അരാബ, മിദ്ദീൻ, സെഖാഖാ:
62 And Nibshan, and the citie of salt, and Engedi: sixe cities with their villages.
നിബ്ശാൻ, ഉപ്പുപട്ടണം, എൻ-ഗെദി—ഇങ്ങനെ ആറു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും.
63 Neuerthelesse, the Iebusites that were the inhabitants of Ierusalem, could not the children of Iudah cast out, but the Iebusites dwell with the children of Iudah at Ierusalem vnto this day.
ജെറുശലേമിൽ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന യെബൂസ്യരെ യെഹൂദയ്ക്കു നീക്കിക്കളയാൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല. ഇന്നുവരെ യെബൂസ്യർ അവിടെ യെഹൂദാമക്കളോടുകൂടെ താമസിച്ചുവരുന്നു.
