Joshua 15
1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Iudah by their families: euen to the border of Edom and the wildernesse of Zin, Southward on the Southcoast.
Et le lot échu à la tribu des fils de Juda, selon leurs familles, fut jusqu’à la frontière d’Édom, le désert de Tsin, vers le midi, à l’extrémité sud.
2 And their South border was the salt Sea coast, from the point that looketh Southward.
Et leur frontière méridionale était depuis le bout de la mer Salée, depuis la pointe qui regarde vers le midi;
3 And it went out on the Southside towarde Maaleth-akrabbim, and went along to Zin, and ascended vp on the Southside vnto Kadesh-barnea, and went along to Hezron, and went vp to Adar, and fet a compasse to Karkaa.
et elle sortait vers le midi de la montée d’Akrabbim, et passait vers Tsin, et montait au midi de Kadès-Barnéa, et passait à Hetsron, et montait vers Addar, et tournait vers Karkaa,
4 From thence went it along to Azmon, and reached vnto the riuer of Egypt, and the end of that coast was on the Westside: this shall be your South coast.
et passait vers Atsmon, et sortait au torrent d’Égypte; et la frontière aboutissait à la mer. Telle sera votre frontière au midi.
5 Also the Eastborder shalbe the salt Sea, vnto the end of Iorden: and the border on the North quarter from the point of the Sea, and from the end of Iorden.
– Et la frontière orientale était la mer Salée jusqu’à l’extrémité du Jourdain. – Et la frontière, du côté du nord, était depuis la pointe de la mer qui est à l’extrémité du Jourdain;
6 And this border goeth vp to Beth-hogla, and goeth along by ye Northside of Beth-arabah: so the border from thence goeth vp to the stone of Bohan the sonne of Reuben.
et la frontière montait vers Beth-Hogla, et passait vers le nord de Beth-Araba; et la frontière montait vers la pierre de Bohan, fils de Ruben;
7 Againe this border goeth vp to Debir from the valley of Achor, and Northwarde, turning toward Gilgal, that lyeth before the going vp to Adummim, which is on the Southside of the riuer: also this border goeth vp to the waters of En-shemesh, and endeth at En-rogel.
et la frontière montait vers Debir, depuis la vallée d’Acor, et tournait contre le nord vers Guilgal, qui est vis-à-vis de la montée d’Adummim, laquelle est au midi du torrent; et la frontière passait vers les eaux d’En-Shémesh, et aboutissait à En-Roguel;
8 Then this border goeth vp to the valley of the sonne of Hinnom; on the Southside of the Iebusites: the same is Ierusalem. also this border goeth vp to the top of the mountaine that lyeth before the valley of Hinnom Westward, which is by the end of the valley of ye gyants Northward.
et la frontière montait la vallée de Ben-Hinnom, vers le côté méridional de Jébus, qui est Jérusalem; et la frontière montait au sommet de la montagne qui est en face de la vallée de Hinnom, à l’occident, qui est à l’extrémité de la vallée des Rephaïm, au nord;
9 So this border compasseth from the top of the mountaine vnto the fountaine of the water of Nephtoah, and goeth out to the cities of mount Ephron: and this border draweth to Baalah, which is Kiriath-iearim.
et la frontière fut tracée depuis le sommet de la montagne jusqu’à la source des eaux de Nephtoah, et elle sortait vers les villes de la montagne d’Éphron; et la frontière fut tracée par Baala, qui est Kiriath-Jéarim;
10 Then this border compasseth from Baalah Westward vnto mount Seir, and goeth along vnto the side of mount Iearim, which is Chesalon on the Northside: so it commeth downe to Bethshemesh, and goeth to Timnah.
et la frontière faisait un détour depuis Baala, vers l’occident, jusqu’à la montagne de Séhir; et elle passait à côté de la montagne de Jéarim, qui est Kesalon, vers le nord; et elle descendait à Beth-Shémesh et passait par Thimna.
11 Also this border goeth out vnto the side of Ekron Northwarde: and this border draweth to Shicron, and goeth along to mount Baalah, and stretcheth vnto Iabneel: and the endes of this coast are to the Sea.
Et la frontière sortait vers le côté d’Ékron, vers le nord; et la frontière fut tracée vers Shicron; et elle passait la montagne de Baala, et sortait vers Jabneël; et la frontière aboutissait à la mer.
12 And the Westborder is to the great Sea: so this border shalbe the bounds of the children of Iudah round about, according to their families.
– Et la frontière occidentale était la grande mer et [ses] côtes. Telle fut la frontière des fils de Juda, tout à l’entour, selon leurs familles.
13 And vnto Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh did Ioshua giue a part among the children of Iudah, as the Lord commanded him, euen Kiriath-arba of the father of Anak, which is Hebron.
Et, selon le commandement de l’Éternel à Josué, il donna à Caleb, fils de Jephunné, une part au milieu des fils de Juda: Kiriath-Arba ([Arba était] père d’Anak), c’est Hébron.
14 And Caleb droue thence three sonnes of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the sonnes of Anak.
Et Caleb en déposséda les trois fils d’Anak: Shéshaï, et Akhiman, et Thalmaï, enfants d’Anak.
15 And he went vp thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before time was Kiriath-sepher.
Et de là, il monta contre les habitants de Debir; or le nom de Debir était auparavant Kiriath-Sépher.
16 Then Caleb sayd, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, euen to him wil I giue Achsah my daughter to wife.
Et Caleb dit: À qui frappera Kiriath-Sépher et la prendra, je lui donnerai ma fille Acsa pour femme.
17 And Othniel, the sonne of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb tooke it: and he gaue him Achsah his daughter to wife.
Et Othniel, fils de Kenaz, frère de Caleb, la prit; et [Caleb] lui donna sa fille Acsa pour femme.
18 And as she went in to him, she moued him, to aske of her father a fielde: and she lighted off her asse, and Caleb sayd vnto her, What wilt thou?
– Et il arriva que, comme elle entrait, elle l’incita à demander à son père un champ. Et elle descendit de dessus l’âne; et Caleb lui dit: Qu’as-tu?
19 Then she answered, Giue me a blessing: for thou hast giuen mee the South countrey: giue me also springs of water. And hee gaue her the springs aboue and the springs beneath.
Et elle dit: Donne-moi une bénédiction; car tu m’as donné une terre du midi, donne-moi aussi des sources d’eau. Et il lui donna les sources du haut et les sources du bas.
20 This shalbe the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Iudah according to their families.
C’est ici l’héritage de la tribu des fils de Juda, selon leurs familles.
21 And the vtmost cities of the tribe of the children of Iudah, toward the coastes of Edom Southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Iagur,
Les villes de l’extrémité de la tribu des fils de Juda, vers la frontière d’Édom, dans le midi, furent: Kabtseël, et Éder, et Jagur,
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
et Kina, et Dimona, et Adhada,
23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
et Kédesh, et Hatsor, et Jithnan,
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
Ziph, et Télem, et Bealoth,
25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, Hesron (which is Hazor)
et Hatsor la neuve, et Kerijoth-Hetsron (c’est Hatsor),
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,
Amam, et Shema, et Molada,
27 And Hazar, Gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,
et Hatsar-Gadda, et Heshmon, et Beth-Péleth,
28 And Hasar-shual, and Beersheba, and Biziothiah,
et Hatsar-Shual, et Beër-Shéba, et Biziothia;
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,
Baala, et Ijim, et Étsem,
30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,
et Eltholad, et Kesil, et Horma,
31 And Ziklag, and Madmanna, and Sansannah,
et Tsiklag, et Madmanna, et Sansanna,
32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all these cities are twentie and nine with their villages.
et Lebaoth, et Shilkhim, et Aïn, et Rimmon: toutes ces villes, 29 [villes] et leurs hameaux.
33 In the lowe countrey were Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,
– Dans le pays plat: Eshtaol, et Tsorha, et Ashna,
34 And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,
et Zanoakh, et En-Gannim, Tappuakh et Énam,
35 Iarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,
Jarmuth et Adullam, Soco et Azéka,
36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim: fourteene cities with their villages.
et Shaaraïm, et Adithaïm, et Guedéra, et Guedérothaïm: 14 villes et leurs hameaux;
37 Zenam, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,
Tsenan, et Hadasha, et Migdal-Gad,
38 And Dileam, and Mizpeh, and Ioktheel,
et Dilhan, et Mitspé, et Joktheël,
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
Lakis, et Botskath, et Églon,
40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,
et Cabbon, et Lakhmas, et Kithlish,
41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah: sixteene cities with their villages.
et Guedéroth, Beth-Dagon, et Naama, et Makkéda: 16 villes et leurs hameaux;
42 Lebnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
Libna, et Éther, et Ashan,
43 And Iipthtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
et Jiphtah, et Ashna, et Netsib,
44 And Keilah, and Aczib, and Mareshah: nine cities with their villages.
et Kehila, et Aczib, et Marésha: neuf villes et leurs hameaux;
45 Ekron with her townes and her villages,
Ékron, et les villages de son ressort, et ses hameaux;
46 From Ekron, euen vnto the Sea, all that lyeth about Ashdod with their villages.
depuis Ékron, et vers la mer, toutes celles qui étaient à côté d’Asdod, et leurs hameaux;
47 Ashdod with her townes and her villages: Azzah with her townes and her villages, vnto the riuer of Egypt, and the great Sea was their coast.
Asdod, les villages de son ressort, et ses hameaux; Gaza, les villages de son ressort, et ses hameaux, jusqu’au torrent d’Égypte, et la grande mer et [ses] côtes.
48 And in the mountaines were Shamir, and Iattir, and Socoh,
– Et dans la montagne: Shamir, et Jatthir, et Soco,
49 And Dannah, and Kiriath-sannath (which is Debir)
et Danna, et Kiriath-Sanna, qui est Debir,
50 And Anab, and Ashtemoth, and Anim,
et Anab, et Eshtemo, et Anim,
51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh: eleuen cities with their villages,
et Goshen, et Holon, et Guilo: onze villes et leurs hameaux;
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,
Arab, et Duma, et Éshean,
53 And Ianum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,
et Janum, et Beth-Tappuakh, et Aphéka,
54 And Humtah, and Kiriath-arba, (which is Hebron) and Zior: nine cities with their villages.
et Humta, et Kiriath-Arba, qui est Hébron, et Tsihor: neuf villes et leurs hameaux;
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Iuttah,
Maon, Carmel, et Ziph, et Juta,
56 And Izreel, and Iokdeam, and Zanoah,
et Jizreël, et Jokdeam, et Zanoakh,
57 Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah: ten cities with their villages.
Kaïn, Guibha, et Thimna: dix villes et leurs hameaux;
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,
Halkhul, Beth-Tsur, et Guedor,
59 And Maarah, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon: sixe cities with their villages.
et Maarath, et Beth-Anoth, et Elthekon: six villes et leurs hameaux;
60 Kiriath-baal, which is Kiriath-iearim, and Rabbah: two cities with their villages.
Kiriath-Baal, qui est Kiriath-Jéarim, et Rabba: deux villes et leurs hameaux.
61 In the wildernes were Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,
– Dans le désert: Beth-Araba, Middin, et Secaca,
62 And Nibshan, and the citie of salt, and Engedi: sixe cities with their villages.
et Nibshan, et Ir-Hammélakh, et En-Guédi: six villes et leurs hameaux.
63 Neuerthelesse, the Iebusites that were the inhabitants of Ierusalem, could not the children of Iudah cast out, but the Iebusites dwell with the children of Iudah at Ierusalem vnto this day.
Mais les Jébusiens qui habitaient Jérusalem, les fils de Juda ne purent pas les déposséder, et le Jébusien a habité avec les fils de Juda à Jérusalem jusqu’à ce jour.
