Joshua 13

1 Nowe when Ioshua was olde, and striken in yeeres, the Lord said vnto him, Thou art olde and growen in age, and there remaineth exceeding much land to be possessed:

Et Josué était vieux, ayant vécu bien des jours, et le Seigneur dit à Josué: Tu as vécu bien des jours, et une grande part de votre héritage est délaissée.

2 This is the land that remaineth, all the regions of the Philistims, and all Geshuri,

Voilà quelle est cette terre qui reste à partager: le territoire des Philistins, Gésiri et le Chananéen,

3 From Nilus which is in Egypt, euen vnto the borders of Ekron Northward: this is counted of the Canaanites, euen fiue Lordships of the Philistims, the Azzithites, and the Ashdodites, the Eshkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites, and the Auites:

Depuis le désert qui est devant l'Egypte, jusqu'aux confins d'Accaron, à gauche des Chananéens; elle est comprise dans les cinq principautés des Philistins, savoir: Gaza, Azot, Ascalon, Geth et Accaron, et dans le pays de l'Evéen;

4 From the South, all the land of the Canaanites, and the caue that is beside the Sidonians, vnto Aphek, and to the borders of the Amorites:

A partir de Théman, et dans tout le territoire Chananéen qui fait face à Gaza. Il y a encore le territoire des Sidoniens, jusqu'à Aphec et jusqu'aux confins des Amorrhéens;

5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunne rising from Bahal-gad vnder mount Hermon, vntil one come to Hamath.

Puis, tout le territoire de Galiath des Philistins, et tout le Liban, depuis ses bases orientales et depuis Galgal, sous le mont Hermon, jusqu'à l'entrée d'Emath.

6 All the inhabitants of the mountaines from Lebanon vnto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, I wil cast them out from before the children of Israel: only deuide thou it by lot vnto the Israelites, to inherite, as I haue commanded thee.

Les habitants de la contrée montagneuse depuis le Liban, jusqu'à Masereth en Memphomaïm, et tous les Sidoniens, je les exterminerai devant Israël. Distribue donc par le sort, aux fils d'Israël, leur territoire ainsi que je le l'ai prescrit.

7 Nowe therefore deuide this lande to inherite, vnto the nine tribes, and to the halfe tribe of Manasseh.

Maintenant, partage toute cette terre depuis le Jourdain, jusqu'à la grande mer de l'occident, et donne-la en héritage aux neuf tribus et à la demi- tribu de Manassé. La grande mer sera sa limite.

8 For with halfe therof the Reubenites and the Gadites haue receiued their inheritance, which Moses gaue them beyond Iorden Eastward, euen as Moses the seruant of the Lord had giuen them,

Moïse a donné la rive orientale du Jourdain aux deux tribus de Ruben et de Gad, et à l'autre demi-tribu de Manassé; Moïse serviteur de Dieu la leur a donnée,

9 From Aroer that is on the brinke of the riuer Arnon, and from the citie that is in the mids of the riuer, and all the plaine of Medeba vnto Dibon,

Depuis Aroer, qui est sur le bord du torrent d'Arnon; il leur a donné la ville qui est au milieu de la vallée, et tout le territoire de Misor à partir de Médaban,

10 And all the cities of Sihon King of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, vnto the borders of the children of Ammon,

Et toutes les villes de Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, qui régnait en Esebon jusqu'aux confins des fils d'Ammon,

11 And Gilead, and the borders of the Geshurites and of the Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, with all Bashan vnto Salcah:

Et tout Galaad et les confins de Gésiri et ceux de Machati; tout le mont Hermon et tout Basan jusqu'à Acha,

12 All the kingdome of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei: (who remained of the rest of the gyants) for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.

Et tout le royaume d'Og, roi de Basan, qui régnait en Astarotb et en Edraïn; ce dernier était un reste des géants, et Moïse le vainquit, et il le fit mourir.

13 But the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites euen vnto this day.

Les fils d'Israël ne détruisirent ni Gésiri, ni Machati, ni le Chananéen. Et le roi de Gésiri et celui de Machati demeurèrent parmi les fils d'Israël, et y demeurent encore de nos jours.

14 Onely vnto the tribe of Leui he gaue none inheritance, but the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel are his inheritance, as he said vnto him.

A la seule tribu de Lévi il ne fut point donné d'héritage. Le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël lui-même est son héritage, comme l'a dit le Seigneur aux lévites. Or, voici le partage que fit Moïse aux fils d'Israël en Araboth des Moabites, sur la rive gauche du Jourdain, en face de Jéricho.

15 Moses then gaue vnto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance, according to their families.

Moïse donna à la tribu de Ruben sa part, selon le nombre des familles;

16 And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the brinke of the riuer Arnon, and from the citie that is in the middes of the riuer, and all the plaine which is by Medeba:

Ses limites comprirent Aroer, qui est sur le bord du torrent d'Arnon, et la ville qui s'élève au milieu de la vallée et tout Misor,

17 Heshbon with all the cities thereof, that are in the plaine: Dibon and Bamoth-baal, and Bethbaal-meon:

Jusqu'à Esebon, avec toutes les villes qui sont en Misor, et Dibon, Bémon-Baal, la maison de Meelboth,

18 And Iahazah, and Kedemoth and Mephaath:

Basan, Bacedmoth, Méphaad,

19 Kiriathaim also, and Sibmah, and Zerethshahar in the mount of Emek:

Cariathim, Sébania, Sérada et Sion, sur le mont Enab,

20 And Beth-peor, and Ashdoth-pisgah, and Beth-ieshimoth:

Bethphogor, Asedoth-Phasga, Betthasinoth,

21 And all the cities of the plaine: and all the kingdome of Sihon King of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whome Moses smote with the Princes of Midian, Eui, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the countrey.

Et toutes les villes de Misor, et tout le royaume de Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, que Moïse vainquit avec tous les princes de Madian: Evi, Roboc, Sur, Hur et Rhobé, prince des dépouilles de Sion, et tous les habitants de Sion.

22 And Balaam the sonne of Beor the soothsayer did the children of Israel slay with the sword, among them that were slaine.

Et le devin Balaam, fils de Béor, fut tué au fort du combat.

23 And the border of the children of Reuben was Iorden with the coastes. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, with the cities and their villages.

Ruben eut le Jourdain pour limite Occidentale. Tel fut l'héritage de Ruben par familles, tels furent ses villes et ses villages.

24 Also Moses gaue inheritance vnto ye tribe of Gad, euen vnto the children of Gad according to their families.

Et Moïse donna, par familles, la part de la tribu de Gad,

25 And their coastes were Iazer, and all the cities of Gilead and halfe the lande of the children of Ammon vnto Aroer, which is before Rabbah:

Dont les limites renfermèrent Jazer, toutes les villes de Galaad, la moitié du territoire des Ammonites, jusqu'à Araba qui est en face d'Arad,

26 And from Heshbon vnto Ramoth, Mizpeh, and Betonim: and from Mahanaim vnto the borders of Debir:

Le territoire depuis Esebon jusqu'à Araboth, en face de Messapba; Botanim, Maan, jusqu'aux confins de Dibon,

27 And in the valley Beth-aram, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdome of Sihon King of Heshbon, vnto Iorden and the borders euen vnto the Sea coast of Cinneereth, beyond Iorden Eastward.

Enadom, Othargaï, Benthanabré, Socchotha, Saphan et le reste du royaume de Séhon, roi d'Esebon. Et la rive orientale du Jourdain fut sa limite, jusqu'aux bords de la mer de Cénéreth.

28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad, after their families, with the cities, and their villages.

Tels furent l'héritage et les villes des fils de Gad, par familles; ils combattirent par familles, puisque leurs villes et leurs villages leur furent distribués par familles.

29 Also Moses gaue inheritance vnto the halfe tribe of Manasseh: and this belonged to the halfe tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

Et Moïse donna, par familles, la part de la demi-tribu de Manassé,

30 And their border was from Mahanaim, euen all Bashan, to wit, all the kingdome of Og King of Bashan, and all the townes of Iair which are in Bashan, threescore cities,

Dont les limites renfermèrent: le territoire à partir de Maan, tout le royaume de Basan, tout le royaume de Og, roi de Basan, toutes les bourgades de Jaïr qui sont en Basan, soixante villes;

31 And halfe Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were giuen vnto the children of Machir the sonne of Manasseh, to halfe of the children of Machir after their families.

Et Moïse donna la moitié de Galaad, plus, en Basan, Astaroth et Edraïn, villes royales du roi Og, aux fils de Machir, fils de Manassé, c'est-à-dire à la moitié des fils de Machir, fils de Manassé, par familles.

32 These are the heritages, which Moses did distribute in the plaine of Moab beyond Iorden, toward Iericho Eastward.

Ce sont ceux à qui Moïse, en Araboth de Moab, distribua des héritages sur la rive orientale du Jourdain, en face de Jéricho.

33 But vnto the tribe of Leui Moses gaue none inheritance: for the Lord God of Israel is their inheritance, as he said vnto them.
