Jonah 2
1 Then Ionah prayed vnto the Lord his God out of the fishes belly,
Und Jona betete zu Jehova, seinem Gott, aus dem Bauche des Fisches und sprach:
2 And said, I cryed in mine affliction vnto the Lord, and he heard me: out of the bellie of hell cryed I, and thou heardest my voyce. (Sheol h7585)
Ich rief aus meiner Bedrängnis zu Jehova, und er antwortete mir; ich schrie aus dem Schoße des Scheols, du hörtest meine Stimme. (Sheol h7585)
3 For thou haddest cast me into the bottome in the middes of the sea, and the floods compassed me about: all thy surges, and all thy waues passed ouer me.
Denn du hattest mich in die Tiefe, in das Herz der Meere geworfen, und der Strom umschloß mich; alle deine Wogen und deine Wellen fuhren über mich hin.
4 Then I saide, I am cast away out of thy sight: yet will I looke againe towarde thine holy Temple.
Und ich sprach [Eig. Ich zwar sprach]: Verstoßen bin ich aus deinen Augen; dennoch werde ich wieder hinschauen nach deinem heiligen Tempel.
5 The waters compassed me about vnto the soule: the depth closed me rounde about, and the weedes were wrapt about mine head.
Die Wasser umfingen mich bis an die Seele, die Tiefe umschloß mich, das Meergras schlang sich um mein Haupt.
6 I went downe to the bottome of the moutaines: the earth with her barres was about me for euer, yet hast thou brought vp my life from the pit, O Lord my God.
Ich fuhr hinab zu den Gründen der Berge; der Erde Riegel waren hinter mir auf ewig. Da führtest du mein Leben aus der Grube herauf, Jehova, mein Gott.
7 When my soule fainted within me, I remembred the Lord: and my prayer came vnto thee, into thine holy Temple.
Als meine Seele in mir verschmachtete, gedachte ich Jehovas, und zu dir kam mein Gebet in deinen heiligen Tempel. [O. Palast]
8 They that waite vpon lying vanities, forsake their owne mercie.
Die auf nichtige Götzen achten, verlassen ihre Gnade [O. ihre Güte, d. h. den, der ihre Güte ist; vergl. Ps. 144,2.]
9 But I will sacrifice vnto thee with the voice of thankesgiuing, and will pay that that I haue vowed: saluation is of the Lord.
Ich aber werde dir opfern mit der Stimme des Lobes [O. Dankes; ] was ich gelobt habe, werde ich bezahlen. Bei Jehova [Eig. Jehovas] ist die Rettung.
10 And the Lord spake vnto the fish, and it cast out Ionah vpon the dry lande.
Und Jehova befahl dem Fische, und er spie Jona an das Land aus.
