Jonah 2
1 Then Ionah prayed vnto the Lord his God out of the fishes belly,
約納在魚腹裏，祈求上主，他的天主。
2 And said, I cryed in mine affliction vnto the Lord, and he heard me: out of the bellie of hell cryed I, and thou heardest my voyce. (Sheol h7585)
他說：「我在患難中，呼求上主，衪便應允了我，我從陰府的深處呼求，你便俯聽了我的呼聲。 (Sheol h7585)
3 For thou haddest cast me into the bottome in the middes of the sea, and the floods compassed me about: all thy surges, and all thy waues passed ouer me.
你將我拋入海心深處，大水包圍了我；你的波濤和巨浪漫過了我。
4 Then I saide, I am cast away out of thy sight: yet will I looke againe towarde thine holy Temple.
我曾說：我雖從你面前被拋棄，但我仍要瞻仰你的聖殿。
5 The waters compassed me about vnto the soule: the depth closed me rounde about, and the weedes were wrapt about mine head.
大水圍困我，危及卜性命；深淵包圍我，海草纏住我的頭。
6 I went downe to the bottome of the moutaines: the earth with her barres was about me for euer, yet hast thou brought vp my life from the pit, O Lord my God.
我下深直到礁底，大地的門閂永為我關閉。上主，卜天主! 你卻從坑裏救出了我的性命。
7 When my soule fainted within me, I remembred the Lord: and my prayer came vnto thee, into thine holy Temple.
當我奄奄一息時，我記起了上主；我的祈禱達於你前，達於你的聖殿中。
8 They that waite vpon lying vanities, forsake their owne mercie.
敬奉虛無偶像的人，實在是捨棄了慈愛的根源。
9 But I will sacrifice vnto thee with the voice of thankesgiuing, and will pay that that I haue vowed: saluation is of the Lord.
至於我，我要在頌謝的歌聲中，向你獻祭，償還我許的誓願。救恩屬於上主! 」
10 And the Lord spake vnto the fish, and it cast out Ionah vpon the dry lande.
當時，上主命令那魚，那魚便將約納吐在陸地上。
