John 8
1 And Iesus went vnto the mount of Oliues,
Darauf ging Jesus auf den Ölberg.
2 And early in the morning came againe into the Temple, and all the people came vnto him, and he sate downe, and taught them.
Am frühen Morgen kam er wieder in den Tempel; alles Volk strömte ihm zu. Er setzte sich und lehrte sie.
3 Then the Scribes, and the Pharises brought vnto him a woman, taken in adulterie, and set her in the middes,
Da brachten die Schriftgelehrten und die Pharisäer ein Weib daher, das beim Ehebruch ertappt worden war. Sie stellten sie vor ihn hin
4 And said vnto him, Master, we foud this woman committing adulterie, euen in the very acte.
und sprachen zu ihm: "Meister, dieses Weib ward beim Ehebruch auf frischer Tat ertappt.
5 Now Moses in our Law commanded, that such should be stoned: what sayest thou therefore?
Nun hat Moses im Gesetz geboten, solche zu steinigen. Was sagst du dazu?"
6 And this they saide to tempt him, that they might haue, whereof to accuse him. But Iesus stouped downe, and with his finger wrote on the groud.
Sie fragten dies aber nur, um ihn auf die Probe zu stellen, damit sie Grund zur Anklage bekämen. Doch Jesus bückte sich und schrieb mit seinem Finger auf den Boden.
7 And while they continued asking him, hee lift himselfe vp, and sayde vnto them, Let him that is among you without sinne, cast the first stone at her.
Und als sie weiterhin mit Fragen in ihn drangen, da richtete er sich auf und sprach zu ihnen: "Wer von euch keine Sünde hat, der werfe den ersten Stein auf sie!"
8 And againe hee stouped downe, and wrote on the ground.
Dann bückte er sich wieder und schrieb weiter auf den Boden.
9 And when they heard it, being accused by their owne conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at ye eldest euen to the last: so Iesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the mids.
Als sie dies hörten, schlichen sie sich, die Ältesten voran, einer nach dem anderen weg. Jesus blieb allein zurück mit dem Weib, das vor ihm stand.
10 When Iesus had lift vp himselfe againe, and sawe no man, but the woman, hee saide vnto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
Da richtete sich Jesus auf und fragte sie: "Weib, wo sind sie die dich angeklagt haben? Hat keiner dich verurteilt?"
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Iesus said, Neither do I condemne thee: go and sinne no more.
"Keiner, Herr," gab sie zur Antwort. Darauf sprach Jesus zu ihr: "So will auch ich dich nicht verurteilen. Geh hin und sündige fortan nicht mehr!"
12 Then spake Iesus againe vnto them, saying, I am that light of the worlde: hee that followeth mee, shall not walke in darkenes, but shall haue that light of life.
Und Jesus sprach weiterhin zu ihnen: "Ich bin das Licht der Welt. Wer mir nachfolgt, wird nicht im Finstern wandeln, sondern das Licht des Lebens haben."
13 The Pharises therefore saide vnto him, Thou bearest recorde of thy selfe: thy recorde is not true.
Da sagten die Pharisäer zu ihm: "Du zeugst für dich selbst; dein Zeugnis hat keinen Wert."
14 Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them, Though I beare recorde of my selfe, yet my recorde is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go: but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I goe.
Jesus erwiderte ihnen: "Auch wenn ich für mich selbst zeuge, so hat mein Zeugnis dennoch Wert; ich weiß, woher ich komme und wohin ich gehe. Ihr freilich wißt nicht, woher ich komme noch wohin ich gehe.
15 Ye iudge after the flesh: I iudge no man.
Ihr urteilt nach dem Äußeren, ich urteile über niemand.
16 And if I also iudge, my iudgement is true: for I am not alone, but I, and the Father, that sent mee.
Wenn ich aber ein Urteil fälle, so ist mein Urteil wahr; ich stehe ja nicht allein, der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, ist mit mir.
17 And it is also written in your Lawe, that the testimonie of two men is true.
In eurem Gesetze steht geschrieben, daß zweier Menschen Zeugnis beweiskräftig ist.
18 I am one that beare witnes of my selfe, and the Father that sent me, beareth witnes of me.
Nun zeuge ich für mich, und es zeugt für mich der Vater, der mich gesandt hat."
19 Then saide they vnto him, Where is that Father of thine? Iesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor that Father of mine. If ye had knowen me, ye should haue knowen that Father of mine also.
Da fragten sie ihn: "Wo ist dein Vater?" Und Jesus sprach: "Ihr kennt weder mich noch meinen Vater. Ja, würdet ihr mich kennen, dann würdet ihr auch meinen Vater kennen."
20 These wordes spake Iesus in the treasurie, as hee taught in the Temple, and no man layde handes on him: for his houre was not yet come.
Er sprach diese Worte an der Schatzkammer, als er im Tempel lehrte. Doch es ergriff ihn niemand, denn seine Stunde war noch nicht gekommen.
21 Then saide Iesus againe vnto them, I goe my way, and ye shall seeke me, and shall die in your sinnes, Whither I goe, can ye not come.
Dann sprach er weiter zu ihnen: "Ich gehe fort; ihr werdet mich zwar suchen, aber doch in eurer Sünde sterben. Wohin ich gehe, dahin könnt ihr nicht kommen."
22 Then said the Iewes, Will he kill himselfe, because he saith, Whither I goe, can ye not come?
Die Juden sagten: "Will er sich etwa selber töten, daß er sagt: 'Wohin ich gehe, dahin könnt ihr nicht kommen'?"
23 And hee saide vnto them, Ye are from beneath, I am from aboue: ye are of this world, I am not of this worlde.
Er sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr stammt von unten, ich stamme von oben; ihr seid von dieser Welt, ich bin nicht von dieser Welt.
24 I said therefore vnto you, That ye shall die in your sinnes: for except ye beleeue, that I am he, ye shall die in your sinnes.
Ich habe euch gesagt: Ihr werdet in euren Sünden sterben; wenn ihr nicht glaubt, daß ich es bin, so werdet ihr in euren Sünden sterben"
25 Then saide they vnto him, Who art thou? And Iesus saide vnto them, Euen the same thing that I said vnto you from the beginning.
Sie fragten ihn: "Wer bist du denn?" Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Daß ich überhaupt noch mit euch rede!
26 I haue many things to say, and to iudge of you: but he that sent me, is true, and the things that I haue heard of him, those speake I to the world.
Ich hätte über euch noch vieles zu sagen und zu richten. Doch der, der mich gesandt hat, ist wahrhaftig, und ich verkünde der Welt das, was ich von ihm gehört habe."
27 They vnderstoode not that hee spake to them of the Father.
Sie merkten nicht, daß er vom Vater zu ihnen sprach.
28 Then said Iesus vnto them, When ye haue lift vp the Sonne of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I doe nothing of my selfe, but as my Father hath taught me, so I speake these things.
Jesus fuhr dann fort: "Wenn ihr den Menschensohn erhöht habt, dann werdet Ihr erkennen, daß ich es bin und nichts aus mir selber tue, daß ich vielmehr nur das verkünde, was der Vater mich gelehrt hat.
29 For he that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone, because I do alwayes those things that please him.
Der mich gesandt hat, ist immer mit mir; er hat mich nicht allein gelassen, weil ich allzeit tue, was ihm wohlgefällig ist."
30 As hee spake these thinges, many beleeued in him.
Auf diese Rede hin glaubten viele an ihn.
31 Then saide Iesus to the Iewes which beleeued in him, If ye continue in my worde, ye are verely my disciples,
Darauf sprach Jesus zu den Juden, die an ihn glaubten: "Wenn ihr euch an mein Wort haltet, dann seid ihr meine echten Jünger.
32 And shall know the trueth, and the trueth shall make you free.
Ihr werdet die Wahrheit erkennen, und die Wahrheit wird euch frei machen."
33 They answered him, Wee be Abrahams seede, and were neuer bonde to any man: why sayest thou then, Ye shalbe made free?
Sie antworteten ihm: "Wir sind doch Kinder Abrahams und waren niemals bei irgend jemand Knecht. Wie magst du sagen: 'Ihr werdet frei werden'?"
34 Iesus answered them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, that whosoeuer committeth sinne, is the seruant of sinne.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer immer die Sünde begeht, ist ein Knecht der Sünde.
Der Knecht bleibt nicht für immer im Hause; der Sohn dagegen bleibt für immer. (aiōn g165)
36 If that Sonne therefore shall make you free, ye shalbe free in deede.
Wenn der Sohn euch frei macht, so seid ihr in Tat und Wahrheit frei.
37 I know that ye are Abrahams seede, but yee seeke to kill mee, because my worde hath no place in you.
Wohl weiß ich, ihr seid Kinder Abrahams; doch ihr sucht mich zu töten, weil mein Wort in euch nicht Boden findet.
38 I speake that which I haue seene with my Father: and ye doe that which ye haue seene with your father.
Was ich beim Vater geschaut habe, rede ich; ihr aber tut, was ihr bei eurem Vater gehört habt."
39 They answered, and saide vnto him, Abraham is our father. Iesus said vnto them, If ye were Abrahams children, ye woulde doe the workes of Abraham.
Da sagten sie zu ihm: "Unser Vater ist Abraham." Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Wenn ihr Abrahams Kinder seid, so vollbringt auch die Werke Abrahams.
40 But nowe ye goe about to kill mee, a man that haue told you the trueth, which I haue heard of God: this did not Abraham.
So aber sucht ihr mich zu töten, der ich euch die Wahrheit gesagt, die ich bei Gott vernommen habe. Abraham hat solches nicht getan.
41 Ye do the workes of your father. Then said they to him, We are not borne of fornication: we haue one Father, which is God.
Ihr tut die Werke eures Vaters." Sie sagten ihm: "Wir stammen nicht aus einem Ehebruch; wir haben nur einen Vater, Gott."
42 Therefore Iesus sayde vnto them, If God were your Father, then woulde ye loue mee: for I proceeded foorth, and came from God, neither came I of my selfe, but he sent me.
Jesus erwiderte ihnen: "Wenn Gott euer Vater wäre, so würdet ihr mich lieben; ich bin von Gott ausgegangen und gekommen. Ich bin nicht aus eigener Sendung da; nein, jener hat mich gesandt.
43 Why doe ye not vnderstande my talke? because ye cannot heare my worde.
Warum versteht ihr meine Sprache nicht? Weil ihr mein Wort nicht hören könnt.
44 Ye are of your father the deuill, and the lustes of your father ye will doe: hee hath bene a murtherer from the beginning, and abode not in the trueth, because there is no trueth in him. When hee speaketh a lie, then speaketh hee of his owne: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.
Ihr habt den Teufel zum Vater und wollt nach den Gelüsten eures Vaters handeln. Dieser war ein Menschenmörder von Anbeginn her und stand nicht in der Wahrheit, weil in ihm keine Wahrheit ist. Wenn er eine Lüge spricht, alsdann spricht er so recht aus seinem Eigenen; er ist ein Lügner und der Vater der Lüge.
45 And because I tell you the trueth, yee beleeue me not.
Weil ich jedoch die Wahrheit rede, so glaubt ihr mir nicht
46 Which of you can rebuke me of sinne? and if I say the trueth, why do ye not beleeue me?
Wer aus euch kann mich einer Sünde überführen? Wenn ich euch also die Wahrheit sage, warum glaubt ihr mir nicht?
47 He that is of God, heareth Gods wordes: yee therefore heare them not, because ye are not of God.
Wer aus Gott ist, hört die Worte Gottes; ihr hört nicht, weil ihr nicht aus Gott seid."
48 Then answered the Iewes, and said vnto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritane, and hast a deuil?
Die Juden gaben ihm zur Antwort: "Haben wir nicht recht, wenn wir sagen, daß du ein Samariter und von Sinnen bist?"
49 Iesus answered, I haue not a deuil, but I honour my Father, and ye haue dishonoured me.
Und Jesus sprach: "Ich bin nicht von Sinnen; ich ehre meinen Vater, doch ihr entehrt mich.
50 And I seeke not mine owne praise: but there is one that seeketh it, and iudgeth.
Ich suche nicht meine eigne Ehre; doch es gibt einen, der auf sie bedacht ist und richtet.
Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer mein Wort bewahrt, der wird in Ewigkeit den Tod nicht schauen." (aiōn g165)
52 Then said the Iewes to him, Now know we that thou hast a deuill. Abraham is dead, and the Prophets: and thou sayest, If a man keepe my worde, he shall neuer taste of death. (aiōn g165)
Da sagten zu ihm die Juden: "Nun wissen wir, daß du von Sinnen bist. Abraham und die Propheten sind gestorben, und du behauptest: 'Wer mein Wort bewahrt, der wird in Ewigkeit den Tod nicht kosten.' (aiōn g165)
53 Art thou greater then our father Abraham, which is dead? and the Prophets are dead: whome makest thou thy selfe?
Stehst du etwa höher als unser Vater Abraham, der doch gestorben ist, und als die Propheten, die auch gestorben sind? Was machst du aus dir selbst?"
54 Iesus answered, If I honour my selfe, mine honour is nothing worth: it is my Father that honoureth me, whome ye say, that hee is your God.
Und Jesus sprach: "Wenn ich mich selbst ehren würde, so wäre meine Ehre nichts; nun ist es jedoch mein Vater, der mich ehrt, von dem ihr sagt, er sei euer Gott.
55 Yet ye haue not knowen him: but I knowe him, and if I should say I know him not, I should be a liar like vnto you: but I knowe him, and keepe his worde.
Ihr kennt ihn nicht; ich aber kenne ihn. Würde ich sagen: Ich kenne ihn nicht, so wäre ich, was ihr seid, ein Lügner. Ich aber kenne ihn und bewahre sein Wort.
56 Your father Abraham reioyced to see my day, and he sawe it, and was glad.
Abraham, euer Vater, hat gejubelt, daß er meinen Tag schauen sollte; er sah ihn und frohlockte."
57 Then sayd ye Iewes vnto him, Thou art not yet fiftie yeere olde, and hast thou seene Abraham?
Da sagten ihm die Juden: "Du bist noch keine fünfzig Jahre alt und willst Abraham gesehen haben?"
58 Iesus sayd vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, before Abraham was, I am.
Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ehe Abraham war, bin ich."
59 Then tooke they vp stones, to cast at him, but Iesus hid himselfe, and went out of the Temple: And hee passed through the middes of them, and so went his way.
Da griffen sie nach Steinen, um auf ihn zu werfen. Doch Jesus verbarg sich und ging aus dem Tempel.
