John 4
1 Nowe when the Lord knew, how the Pharises had heard, that Iesus made and baptized moe disciples then Iohn,
Cuando Jesús supo que los fariseos oyeron que Jesús hacía más discípulos que Juan y los bautizaba
2 (Though Iesus himselfe baptized not: but his disciples)
(aunque Jesús mismo no bautizaba, sino sus discípulos),
3 Hee left Iudea, and departed againe into Galile.
salió de Judea y volvió a Galilea.
4 And he must needes goe through Samaria.
Y le era necesario pasar por Samaria.
5 Then came hee to a citie of Samaria called Sychar, neere vnto the possession that Iacob gaue to his sonne Ioseph.
Entonces fue a una ciudad de Samaria llamada Sicar, cerca del campo que Jacob dio a su hijo José.
6 And there was Iacobs well. Iesus then wearied in the iourney, sate thus on the well: it was about the sixt houre.
Allí estaba [el] pozo de Jacob. Como a las 12 del mediodía, Jesús, cansado de la jornada, se sentó junto al pozo.
7 There came a woman of Samaria to drawe water. Iesus sayd vnto her, Giue me drinke.
Una mujer de Samaria llegó a sacar agua. Jesús le dijo: Dame de beber.
8 For his disciples were gone away into the citie, to buy meate.
Pues sus discípulos habían ido a la ciudad a comprar alimento.
9 Then sayde the woman of Samaria vnto him, Howe is it, that thou being a Iewe, askest drinke of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Iewes meddle not with the Samaritans.
Entonces la mujer samaritana le preguntó: ¿Cómo Tú, que eres judío, me pides de beber a mí, que soy samaritana? Porque [los] judíos no se tratan con [los] samaritanos.
10 Iesus answered and saide vnto her, If thou knewest that gift of God, and who it is that saieth to thee, Giue mee drinke, thou wouldest haue asked of him, and hee woulde haue giuen thee, water of life.
Jesús le respondió: Si conocieras el Don de Dios, y Quién es el que te dice: Dame de beber, tú le pedirías, y [Él] te daría agua viva.
11 The woman saide vnto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to drawe with, and the well is deepe: from whence then hast thou that water of life?
Le respondió: Señor, ni vasija tienes, y el pozo es hondo. ¿De dónde sacas el agua viva?
12 Art thou greater then our father Iacob, which gaue vs the well, and hee himselfe dranke thereof, and his sonnes, and his cattell?
¿Eres Tú mayor que nuestro antepasado Jacob, quien nos dio este pozo, del cual él mismo bebió, y sus hijos y sus ganados?
13 Iesus answered, and said vnto her, Whosoeuer drinketh of this water, shall thirst againe:
Jesús respondió: Todo el que bebe de esta agua volverá a tener sed,
15 The woman said vnto him, Syr, giue me of that water, that I may not thirst, neither come hither to drawe.
La mujer le respondió: Señor, dame esa agua, para que no tenga sed ni venga aquí a sacarla.
16 Iesus said vnto her, Go, call thine husband, and come hither.
Le dijo: Vé, llama a tu marido y vuelve acá.
17 The woman answered, and saide, I haue no husband. Iesus said vnto her, Thou hast well said, I haue no husband.
La mujer respondió: No tengo marido. Jesús le dijo: Bien dijiste: No tengo marido,
18 For thou hast had fiue husbands, and he whom thou nowe hast, is not thine husband: that saidest thou truely.
porque cinco maridos has tenido, y el que tienes ahora no es tu marido. Dijiste la verdad.
19 The woman saide vnto him, Sir, I see that thou art a Prophet.
La mujer le dijo: Señor, me parece que Tú eres Profeta.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountaine, and ye say, that in Ierusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
Nuestros antepasados adoraron en la montaña [de Samaria], y ustedes dicen que el lugar donde se debe adorar es Jerusalén.
21 Iesus saide vnto her, Woman, beleeue me, the houre commeth, when ye shall neither in this mountaine, nor at Hierusalem worship ye Father.
Jesús le respondió: Mujer, créeme que viene una hora cuando ustedes no adorarán al Padre ni en esta montaña ni en Jerusalén.
22 Ye worship that which ye knowe not: we worship that which we knowe: for saluation is of the Iewes.
Ustedes adoran lo que no saben. Nosotros adoramos lo que sabemos, porque la salvación viene de los judíos.
23 But the houre commeth, and nowe is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit, and trueth: for the Father requireth euen such to worship him.
Pero la hora viene y ya llegó, cuando los verdaderos adoradores adorarán al Padre en espíritu y verdad. Porque ciertamente el Padre busca que lo adoren así.
24 God is a Spirite, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and trueth.
Dios es Espíritu. Los que lo adoran, deben adorarlo en espíritu y verdad.
25 The woman said vnto him, I knowe well that Messias shall come which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell vs all things.
La mujer le dijo: Sé que viene [el] Mesías, es decir, el Cristo. Cuando Él venga, nos declarará todas las cosas.
26 Iesus said vnto her, I am he, that speake vnto thee.
Jesús le respondió: Yo soy, Quien habla contigo.
27 And vpon that, came his disciples, and marueiled that he talked with a woman: yet no man said vnto him, What askest thou? or why talkest thou with her?
En ese momento llegaron sus discípulos y se asombraron de que hablaba con una mujer, pero nadie le preguntó qué buscaba o qué hablaba con ella.
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the citie, and said to the men,
Entonces la mujer dejó su cántaro, fue a la ciudad y dijo a la gente:
29 Come, see a man which hath tolde me all things that euer I did: is not he that Christ?
¡Vengan! ¡Vean a un Hombre que me dijo todo lo que he hecho! ¿No será Éste el Cristo?
30 Then they went out of the citie, and came vnto him.
[Ellos] salieron de la ciudad y fueron hacia Él.
31 In the meane while, the disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eate.
Entre tanto, los discípulos le rogaban: Maestro, come.
32 But he said vnto them, I haue meate to eate that ye know not of.
Pero Él les respondió: Yo tengo una comida para comer, de la cual ustedes no saben.
33 Then said ye disciples betweene themselues, Hath any man brought him meate?
Entonces los discípulos se preguntaban unos a otros: ¿Alguien le trajo de comer?
34 Iesus saide vnto them, My meate is that I may doe the will of him that sent me, and finish his worke.
Jesús les respondió: Mi comida es que haga la voluntad del que me envió y cumpla su obra.
35 Say not ye, There are yet foure moneths, and then commeth haruest? Beholde, I say vnto you, Lift vp your eyes, and looke on the regions: for they are white alreadie vnto haruest.
¿No dicen ustedes: Aún faltan cuatro meses para la cosecha? Ciertamente Yo les digo: Levanten su mirada y vean los campos blancos para la cosecha.
36 And he that reapeth, receiueth rewarde, and gathereth fruite vnto life eternall, that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth, might reioyce together. (aiōnios g166)
El que cosecha recibe salario y recoge fruto para vida eterna. Así el que siembra y el que cosecha se regocijan juntamente. (aiōnios g166)
37 For herein is the saying true, that one soweth, and an other reapeth.
En esto es verdadero el dicho: Uno es el que siembra y otro el que cosecha.
38 I sent you to reape that, whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entred into their labours.
Yo los envié a cosechar lo que ustedes no sembraron. Otros labraron, y ustedes entraron en su labor.
39 Nowe many of the Samaritans of that citie beleeued in him, for the saying of the woman which testified, He hath tolde me all things that euer I did.
Y muchos de los samaritanos de aquella ciudad creyeron en [Jesús] a causa del testimonio de la mujer, quien decía: ¡Me dijo todo lo que he hecho!
40 Then when the Samaritans were come vnto him, they besought him, that he woulde tarie with them: and he abode there two dayes.
Entonces los samaritanos fueron a Jesús y le rogaban que se quedara con ellos. Y Él se quedó allí dos días.
41 And many moe beleeued because of his owne word.
Y muchos más creyeron por la Palabra de Él,
42 And they said vnto the woman, Nowe we beleeue, not because of thy saying: for we haue heard him our selues, and knowe that this is in deede that Christ the Sauiour of the world.
y le decían a la mujer: Ya no creemos por lo que dices, sino porque nosotros mismos [lo] oímos. Entendimos que verdaderamente Éste es el Salvador del mundo.
43 So two dayes after he departed thence, and went into Galile.
Después de dos días [Jesús] salió de allí hacia Galilea,
44 For Iesus himselfe had testified, that a Prophet hath none honour in his owne countrey.
aunque Él mismo testificó que un profeta no es respetado en su propia patria.
45 Then when he was come into Galile, the Galileans receiued him, which had seene all the things that he did at Hierusalem at the feast: for they went also vnto the feast.
Cuando [Jesús] llegó a Galilea fue bien recibido por los galileos, pues ellos vieron lo que Él hizo durante la fiesta en Jerusalén.
46 And Iesus came againe into Cana a towne of Galile, where he had made of water, wine. And there was a certaine ruler, whose sonne was sicke at Capernaum.
Volvió a Caná de Galilea, donde había convertido el agua en vino. Y un funcionario real, quien tenía un hijo enfermo, estaba en Cafarnaúm.
47 When he heard that Iesus was come out of Iudea into Galile, he went vnto him, and besought him that he would goe downe, and heale his sonne: for he was euen ready to die.
Cuando el [funcionario] oyó que Jesús llegó de Judea a Galilea, fue a Él y le rogaba que bajara y sanara a su hijo, quien ya iba a morir.
48 Then saide Iesus vnto him, Except ye see signes and wonders, ye will not beleeue.
Jesús le dijo: Ustedes, si no ven señales y prodigios, de ningún modo creerán.
49 The ruler said vnto him, Syr, goe downe before my sonne dye.
El funcionario real le dijo: Señor, baja antes que muera mi hijito.
50 Iesus said vnto him, Go thy way, thy sonne liueth: and the man beleeued the worde that Iesus had spoken vnto him, and went his way.
Jesús le contestó: ¡Vé, tu hijo vive! El hombre creyó la Palabra que Jesús le dijo, y se fue.
51 And as he was nowe going downe, his seruants met him, saying, Thy sonne liueth.
Mientras bajaba, sus esclavos salieron a encontrarlo y dijeron: ¡Tu niño vive!
52 Then enquired he of them the houre when he began to amend. And they said vnto him, Yesterday the seuenth houre the feuer left him.
Les preguntó a qué hora comenzó a mejorar, y le contestaron: Ayer a la una de la tarde se le quitó la fiebre.
53 Then the father knew, that it was the same houre in the which Iesus had said vnto him, Thy sonne liueth. And he beleeued, and all his houshold.
Entonces el padre recordó que a esa hora Jesús le dijo: ¡Tu hijo vive! [Como resultado ]él y toda su casa creyeron en Jesús.
54 This second miracle did Iesus againe, after he was come out of Iudea into Galile.
Ésta fue la segunda señal que [Jesús] hizo después de ir de Judea a Galilea.
