John 15
1 I Am that true vine, and my Father is that husband man.
「わたしが真のブドウの木であり，わたしの父は耕作人だ。
2 Euery branch that beareth not fruite in me, he taketh away: and euery one that beareth fruite, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruite.
その方は，わたしのうちにある実を生み出さない枝をすべて取り除かれる。その方は，実を生み出す枝をすべて，それがもっと実を生み出すようにするために刈り込まれる。
3 Nowe are ye cleane through the worde, which I haue spoken vnto you.
あなた方は，わたしがあなた方に話してきた言葉によって，すでにきれいに刈り込まれている。
4 Abide in me, and I in you: as the branche cannot beare fruite of it selfe, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
わたしのうちにとどまりなさい。わたしもあなた方のうちにとどまっている。枝がブドウの木のうちにとどまっていなければ，自分では実を生み出すことができないように，あなた方もわたしのうちにとどまっていなければ，実を生み出すことはできない。
5 I am that vine: ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruite: for without me can ye doe nothing.
わたしはブドウの木であり，あなた方はその枝だ。わたしのうちにとどまり，わたしもそのうちにとどまる者は，たくさんの実を生み出す。あなた方は，わたしを離れては何もできないからだ。
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branche, and withereth: and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they burne.
わたしのうちにとどまらないなら，その者は枝のように投げ出されて枯らされる。そして人々はそれらを集め，火の中に投げ込み，それらは燃やされる。
7 If ye abide in me, and my wordes abide in you, aske what ye wil, and it shalbe done to you.
あなた方がわたしのうちにとどまり，わたしの言葉があなた方のうちにとどまるなら，あなた方は自分たちの望むことを何でも求め，それはあなた方のために果たされるだろう。
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye beare much fruite, and be made my disciples.
「あなた方が多くの実を生み出し，こうしてあなた方がわたしの弟子となること，これによってわたしの父は栄光をお受けになる。
9 As the father hath loued me, so haue I loued you: continue in that my loue.
ちょうど父がわたしを愛してくださったように，わたしもあなた方を愛してきた。わたしの愛のうちにとどまりなさい。
10 If ye shall keepe my commandements, ye shall abide in my loue, as I haue kept my Fathers commandements, and abide in his loue.
あなた方がわたしのおきてを守るなら，あなた方はわたしの愛のうちにとどまるだろう。ちょうどわたしが父のおきてを守っており，その方の愛のうちにとどまっているのと同じだ。
11 These things haue I spoken vnto you, that my ioy might remaine in you, and that your ioy might be full.
わたしの喜びがあなた方のうちにとどまり，あなた方の喜びが満たされるために，わたしはあなた方にこれらの事を話してきた。
12 This is my commandement, that ye loue one another, as I haue loued you.
「わたしがあなた方を愛したとおりに，あなた方が互いに愛し合うこと，これがわたしのおきてだ。
13 Greater loue then this hath no man, when any man bestoweth his life for his friendes.
だれかがその友人たちのために自分の命を捨てること，これより大きな愛はない。
14 Ye are my friendes, if ye doe whatsoeuer I commaund you.
わたしがあなた方に命じることをすべて行なうなら，あなた方はわたしの友だ。
15 Henceforth call I you not seruants: for the seruant knoweth not what his master doeth: but I haue called you friends: for all things that I haue heard of my Father, haue I made knowen to you.
もうわたしはあなた方を召使いとは呼ばない。召使いはその主人が行なうことを知らないからだ。だが，わたしはあなた方を友と呼ぶ。わたしの父から聞いたことすべてを，わたしはあなた方に知らせたからだ。
16 Ye haue not chosen me, but I haue chosen you, and ordeined you, that ye goe and bring foorth fruite, and that your fruite remaine, that whatsoeuer ye shall aske of the Father in my Name, he may giue it you.
あなた方がわたしを選んだのではなく，わたしがあなた方を選んで任命したのだ。あなた方が行って実を産み出し，あなた方の実が残るため，また，あなた方がわたしの名において父に求めることは何でも，その方があなた方に与えてくださるためだ。
17 These things commaund I you, that ye loue one another.
「あなた方が互いに愛し合うように，わたしはこれらの事をあなた方に命じる。
18 If the worlde hate you, ye knowe that it hated me before you.
たとえ世があなた方を憎んでも，それがあなた方を憎む前にわたしを憎んだことを，あなた方は知っている。
19 If ye were of the worlde, the world woulde loue his owne: but because ye are not of ye world, but I haue chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
あなた方が世のものであったなら，世はそれ自身のものを愛するだろう。だが，あなた方は世のものではなく，わたしが世から選び出したので，そのために世はあなた方を憎むのだ。
20 Remember the word that I said vnto you, The seruant is not greater then his master. If they haue persecuted me, they will persecute you also: if they haue kept my worde, they will also keepe yours.
『召使いはその主人より偉大ではない』と，わたしがあなた方に言った言葉を覚えておきなさい。彼らがわたしを迫害したのであれば，あなた方をも迫害するだろう。彼らがわたしの言葉を守ったのであれば，あなた方の言葉も守るだろう。
21 But all these things will they doe vnto you for my Names sake, because they haue not knowen him that sent me.
だが彼らは，わたしの名のために，あなた方に対してこれらの事すべてを行なうだろう。彼らはわたしを遣わされた方を知っていないからだ。
22 If I had not come and spoken vnto them, they shoulde not haue had sinne: but nowe haue they no cloke for their sinne.
わたしがやって来て彼らに話していなかったなら，彼らには罪がなかっただろう。だが今は，彼らには自分たちの罪のための言い訳がない。
23 He that hateth me, hateth my Father also.
わたしを憎む者は，わたしの父をも憎んでいるからだ。
24 If I had not done workes among them which none other man did, they had not had sinne: but nowe haue they both seene, and haue hated both me, and my Father.
わたしが，ほかのだれもしなかった業を彼らの間で行なわなかったなら，彼らには罪がなかっただろう。だが今は，彼らはわたしもわたしの父をも見た上で憎んでいるのだ。
25 But it is that the worde might be fulfilled, that is written in their Lawe, They hated me without a cause.
だが，このことが起きたのは，彼らの律法の中で『彼らは理由なくわたしを憎んだ』と書いてある言葉が果たされるためなのだ。
26 But when that Comforter shall come, whom I will send vnto you from the Father, euen the Spirit of trueth, which proceedeth of the Father, he shall testifie of me.
「わたしが父のもとからあなた方に遣わそうとしている助言者，すなわち父から生じる真理の霊が来る時，彼はわたしについて証言するだろう。
27 And ye shall witnesse also, because ye haue bene with me from the beginning.
あなた方も，はじめからわたしと共にいたのだから，証言するだろう。
