John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye beleeue in God, beleeue also in me.
“No dejes que tu corazón se turbe. Creéis en Dios. Creed también en mí.
2 In my Fathers house are many dwelling places: if it were not so, I would haue tolde you: I go to prepare a place for you.
En la casa de mi Padre hay muchas casas. Si no fuera así, os lo habría dicho. Voy a preparar un lugar para vosotros.
3 And if I go to prepare a place for you, I wil come againe, and receiue you vnto my selfe, that where I am, there may ye be also.
Si me voy y os preparo un lugar, volveré y os recibiré en mi casa; para que donde yo esté, estéis también vosotros.
4 And whither I go, ye know, and the way ye knowe.
Vosotros sabéis a dónde voy y conocéis el camino”.
5 Thomas sayd vnto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest: how can we then know ye way?
Tomás le dijo: “Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas. ¿Cómo podemos saber el camino?”
6 Iesus sayd vnto him, I am that Way, and that Trueth, and that Life. No man commeth vnto the Father, but by me.
Jesús le dijo: “Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida. Nadie viene al Padre sino por mí.
7 If ye had knowen mee, ye should haue knowen my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and haue seene him.
Si me hubieras conocido, habrías conocido también a mi Padre. Desde ahora, lo conoces y lo has visto”.
8 Philippe sayd vnto him, Lord, shewe vs thy Father, and it sufficeth vs.
Felipe le dijo: “Señor, muéstranos al Padre, y eso nos bastará”.
9 Iesus sayd vnto him, I haue bene so long time with you, and hast thou not knowen mee, Philippe? he that hath seene me, hath seene my Father: how then sayest thou, Shewe vs thy Father?
Jesús le dijo: “¿Tanto tiempo llevo con vosotros y no me conoces, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí ha visto al Padre. ¿Cómo dices: “Muéstranos al Padre”?
10 Beleeuest thou not, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The wordes that I speake vnto you, I speake not of my selfe: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the workes.
¿No crees que yo estoy en el Padre y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que os digo no las hablo por mí mismo, sino que el Padre que vive en mí hace sus obras.
11 Beleeue me, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me: at the least, beleeue me for the very workes sake.
Creedme que yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; o bien creedme por las mismas obras.
12 Verely, verely I say vnto you, he that beleeueth in me, the workes that I doe, hee shall doe also, and greater then these shall he doe: for I goe vnto my Father.
De cierto os digo que el que cree en mí, las obras que yo hago, él también las hará; y hará obras mayores que éstas, porque yo voy a mi Padre.
13 And whatsoeuer ye aske in my Name, that will I doe, that the Father may be glorified in the Sonne.
Todo lo que pidáis en mi nombre, lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.
14 If ye shall aske any thing in my Name, I will doe it.
Si pedís algo en mi nombre, yo lo haré.
15 If ye loue me, keepe my comandements,
Si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos.
16 And I wil pray the Father, and he shall giue you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for euer, (aiōn g165)
Yo rogaré al Padre, y él os dará otro Consejero, para que esté con vosotros para siempre: (aiōn g165)
17 Euen the Spirit of trueth, whome the world can not receiue, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye knowe him: for he dwelleth with you, and shalbe in you.
el Espíritu de la verdad, al que el mundo no puede recibir, porque no lo ve y no lo conoce. Vosotros lo conocéis, porque vive con vosotros y estará en vosotros.
18 I will not leaue you fatherles: but I will come to you.
No os dejaré huérfanos. Vendré a vosotros.
19 Yet a litle while, and the world shall see me no more, but ye shall see me: because I liue, ye shall liue also.
Todavía un poco, y el mundo no me verá más; pero vosotros me veréis. Porque yo vivo, vosotros también viviréis.
20 At that day shall ye knowe that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
En aquel día sabréis que yo estoy en mi Padre, y vosotros en mí, y yo en vosotros.
21 He that hath my commandements, and keepeth them, is he that loueth me: and he that loueth me, shall be loued of my Father: and I will loue him, and wil shewe mine owne selfe to him.
El que tiene mis mandamientos y los cumple, ése es el que me ama. El que me ama será amado por mi Padre, y yo le amaré y me revelaré a él”.
22 Iudas sayd vnto him (not Iscariot) Lord, what is the cause that thou wilt shewe thy selfe vnto vs, and not vnto the world?
Judas (no Iscariote) le dijo: “Señor, ¿qué ha pasado para que te reveles a nosotros y no al mundo?”
23 Iesus answered, and sayd vnto him, If any man loue me, he will keepe my worde, and my Father will loue him, and we wil come vnto him, and wil dwell with him.
Jesús le respondió: “Si un hombre me ama, cumplirá mi palabra. Mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él y haremos nuestra casa con él.
24 He that loueth me not, keepeth not my wordes, and the worde which ye heare, is not mine, but the Fathers which sent me.
El que no me ama no guarda mis palabras. La palabra que oís no es mía, sino del Padre que me ha enviado.
25 These things haue I spoken vnto you, being present with you.
“Os he dicho estas cosas mientras vivía con vosotros.
26 But the Comforter, which is the holy Ghost, whom the Father wil send in my Name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, which I haue tolde you.
Pero el Consejero, el Espíritu Santo, que el Padre enviará en mi nombre, os enseñará todas las cosas y os recordará todo lo que os he dicho.
27 Peace I leaue with you: my peace I giue vnto you: not as the worlde giueth, giue I vnto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor feare.
La paz os dejo. Mi paz os doy; no os la doy como la da el mundo. No dejes que tu corazón se turbe, ni que tenga miedo.
28 Ye haue heard howe I saide vnto you, I goe away, and will come vnto you. If ye loued me, ye would verely reioyce, because I said, I goe vnto the Father: for the Father is greater then I.
Habéis oído que os dije: “Me voy y volveré a vosotros”. Si me amarais, os habríais alegrado porque dije: “Me voy a mi Padre”, porque el Padre es más grande que yo.
29 And nowe haue I spoken vnto you, before it come, that when it is come to passe, ye might beleeue.
Ahora os lo he dicho antes de que ocurra, para que, cuando ocurra, creáis.
30 Hereafter will I not speake many things vnto you: for the prince of this world commeth, and hath nought in me.
Ya no hablaré mucho con vosotros, porque viene el príncipe de este mundo y no tiene nada en mí.
31 But it is that the world may knowe that I loue my Father: and as the Father hath commanded me, so I doe. Arise, let vs goe hence.
Pero para que el mundo sepa que amo al Padre, y que como el Padre me mandó, así hago yo. Levantaos, vámonos de aquí.
