John 11
1 And a certaine man was sicke, named Lazarus of Bethania, the towne of Marie, and her sister Martha.
௧மரியாளும் அவள் சகோதரியாகிய மார்த்தாளும் இருந்த பெத்தானியா கிராமத்தைச் சேர்ந்த லாசரு என்பவன் வியாதிப்பட்டிருந்தான்.
2 (And it was that Mary which anointed the Lord with oyntment, and wiped his feete with her heare, whose brother Lazarus was sicke.)
௨கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிமளதைலம் பூசி, தன் தலைமுடியால் அவருடைய பாதங்களைத் துடைத்தவள் அந்த மரியாளே; அவளுடைய சகோதரனாகிய லாசரு வியாதியாக இருந்தான்.
3 Therefore his sisters sent vnto him, saying, Lord, beholde, he whome thou louest, is sicke.
௩அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய சகோதரிகள்: ஆண்டவரே, நீர் சிநேகிக்கிறவன் வியாதியாக இருக்கிறான் என்று சொல்ல, அவரிடத்திற்கு ஆள் அனுப்பினார்கள்.
4 When Iesus heard it, he saide, This sickenes is not vnto death, but for the glorie of God, that the Sonne of God might be glorified thereby.
௪இயேசு அதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபொழுது: இந்த வியாதி மரணம் ஏற்படுவதற்காக இல்லாமல் தேவனுடைய மகிமை விளங்குவதற்காக இருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய குமாரனும் அதினால் மகிமைப்படுவார் என்றார்.
5 Nowe Iesus loued Martha and her sister, and Lazarus.
௫இயேசு மார்த்தாளிடத்திலும் அவளுடைய சகோதரியினிடத்திலும் லாசருவினிடத்திலும் அன்பாக இருந்தார்.
6 And after he had heard that he was sicke, yet abode hee two dayes still in the same place where he was.
௬அவன் வியாதியாக இருக்கிறதாக அவர் கேள்விப்பட்டபொழுது, தாம் இருந்த இடத்திலே மீண்டும் இரண்டு நாட்கள் தங்கினார்.
7 Then after that, said he to his disciples, Let vs goe into Iudea againe.
௭அதன்பின்பு அவர் தம்முடைய சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து: நாம் மீண்டும் யூதேயாவிற்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றார்.
8 The disciples saide vnto him, Master, the Iewes lately sought to stone thee, and doest thou goe thither againe?
௮அதற்குச் சீடர்கள்: ரபீ, இப்பொழுது தான் யூதர்கள் உம்மைக் கல்லெறியத் தேடினார்களே, மீண்டும் நீர் அந்த இடத்திற்குப் போகலாமா என்றார்கள்.
9 Iesus answered, Are there not twelue houres in the day? If a man walke in the day, hee stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
௯இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: பகலுக்குப் பன்னிரண்டு மணிநேரம் இல்லையா? ஒருவன் பகலிலே நடந்தால் அவன் இந்த உலகத்தின் வெளிச்சத்தைக் காண்கிறபடியினால் இடறல் அடையமாட்டான்.
10 But if a man walke in the night, hee stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
௧0ஒருவன் இரவிலே நடந்தால் தன்னிடத்தில் வெளிச்சம் இல்லாததினால் இடறுவான் என்றார்.
11 These things spake he, and after, he said vnto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth: but I goe to wake him vp.
௧௧இவைகளை அவர் சொல்லியபின்பு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நம்முடைய சிநேகிதனாகிய லாசரு நித்திரை அடைந்திருக்கிறான், நான் அவனை உயிரோடு எழுப்பப்போகிறேன் என்றார்.
12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleepe, he shalbe safe.
௧௨அதற்கு அவருடைய சீடர்கள்: ஆண்டவரே, நித்திரை அடைந்திருந்தால் சுகமடைவான் என்றார்கள்.
13 Howbeit, Iesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of the naturall sleepe.
௧௩இயேசுவானவர் அவனுடைய மரணத்தைக்குறித்து அப்படிச் சொன்னார்; அவர்களோ நித்திரைசெய்து இளைப்பாறுகிறதைக்குறித்துச் சொன்னார் என்று நினைத்தார்கள்.
14 Then saide Iesus vnto them plainely, Lazarus is dead.
௧௪அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: லாசரு மரித்துப்போனான் என்று வெளிப்படையாகச் சொல்லி;
15 And I am glad for your sakes, that I was not there, that ye may beleeue: but let vs go vnto him.
௧௫நான் அங்கே இல்லாததினால் நீங்கள் விசுவாசம் உள்ளவர்களாகிறதற்கு ஏதுவுண்டென்று உங்களுக்காக சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்; இப்பொழுது அவனிடத்திற்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றார்.
16 Then saide Thomas (which is called Didymus) vnto his felow disciples, Let vs also goe, that we may die with him.
௧௬அப்பொழுது திதிமு என்னப்பட்ட தோமா மற்றச் சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து: அவருடன் மரிப்பதற்கு நாமும் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றான்.
17 Then came Iesus, and found that he had lien in the graue foure dayes alreadie.
௧௭இயேசு வந்தபோது அவன் கல்லறையில் வைக்கப்பட்டு நான்கு நாட்கள் ஆனது என்றுஅறிந்தார்.
18 (Nowe Bethania was neere vnto Hierusalem, about fifteene furlongs off.)
௧௮பெத்தானியா ஊர் எருசலேமுக்கு அருகில் ஏறக்குறைய இரண்டு மைல் தூரத்திலிருந்தது.
19 And many of ye Iewes were come to Martha and Marie to comfort them for their brother.
௧௯யூதர்களில் அநேகர் மார்த்தாள் மரியாள் என்பவர்களுடைய சகோதரனைக்குறித்து அவர்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்லும்படி அவர்களிடத்தில் வந்திருந்தார்கள்.
20 Then Martha, when shee heard that Iesus was comming, went to meete him: but Mary sate still in the house.
௨0இயேசு வருகிறார் என்று மார்த்தாள் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவருக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு போனாள்; மரியாளோ வீட்டிலே இருந்தாள்.
21 Then said Martha vnto Iesus, Lord, if thou hadst bene here, my brother had not bene dead.
௨௧மார்த்தாள் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து: ஆண்டவரே, நீர் இங்கே இருந்தீரானால் என் சகோதரன் மரித்திருக்கமாட்டான்.
22 But now I know also, that whatsoeuer thou askest of God, God will giue it thee.
௨௨இப்பொழுதும் நீர் தேவனிடத்தில் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளுவது எதுவோ அதை தேவன் உமக்குத் தந்தருளுவார் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றாள்.
23 Iesus said vnto her, Thy brother shall rise againe.
௨௩இயேசு அவளைப் பார்த்து: உன் சகோதரன் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பான் என்றார்.
24 Martha said vnto him, I know that he shall rise againe in the resurrection at the last day.
௨௪அதற்கு மார்த்தாள்: உயிர்த்தெழுதல் நடக்கும் கடைசி நாளிலே அவனும் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பான் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றாள்.
25 Iesus saide vnto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that beleeueth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he liue.
௨௫இயேசு அவளைப் பார்த்து: நானே உயிர்த்தெழுதலும் ஜீவனுமாக இருக்கிறேன், என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் மரித்தாலும் பிழைப்பான்;
௨௬உயிரோடிருந்து என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறன் எவனும் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரிக்காமலும் இருப்பான்; இதை விசுவாசிக்கிறாயா என்றார். (aiōn g165)
27 She said vnto him, Yea, Lord, I beleeue that thou art that Christ that Sonne of God, which should come into the world.
௨௭அதற்கு அவள்: ஆம், ஆண்டவரே, நீர் உலகத்தில் வருகிறவரான தேவகுமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்து என்று நான் விசுவாசிக்கிறேன் என்றாள்.
28 And when she had so saide, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
௨௮இவைகளைச் சொன்னபின்பு, அவள் போய், தன் சகோதரியாகிய மரியாளை இரகசியமாக அழைத்து: போதகர் வந்திருக்கிறார், உன்னை அழைக்கிறார் என்றாள்.
29 And when she heard it, shee arose quickly, and came vnto him.
௨௯அவள் அதைக் கேட்டவுடனே, சீக்கிரமாக எழுந்து, அவரிடத்தில் வந்தாள்.
30 For Iesus was not yet come into the towne, but was in the place where Martha met him.
௩0இயேசு இன்னும் கிராமத்திற்குள் வராமல், மார்த்தாள் தம்மைச் சந்தித்த இடத்திலே இருந்தார்.
31 The Iewes then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they sawe Marie, that she rose vp hastily, and went out, folowed her, saying, She goeth vnto the graue, to weepe there.
௩௧அப்பொழுது, வீட்டிலே அவளுடனே இருந்து அவளுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்த யூதர்கள், மரியாள் சீக்கிரமாக எழுந்துபோகிறதைப் பார்த்து: அவள் கல்லறையினிடத்தில் அழுகிறதற்குப் போகிறாள் என்று சொல்லி, அவளுக்குப் பின்பாகப் போனார்கள்.
32 Then when Mary was come where Iesus was, and sawe him, she fell downe at his feete, saying vnto him, Lord, if thou haddest bene here, my brother had not bene dead.
௩௨இயேசு இருந்த இடத்தில் மரியாள் வந்து, அவரைப் பார்த்தவுடனே, அவர் பாதத்தில் விழுந்து: ஆண்டவரே, நீர் இங்கே இருந்தீரானால் என் சகோதரன் மரித்திருக்கமாட்டான் என்றாள்.
33 When Iesus therefore saw her weepe, and the Iewes also weepe which came with her, hee groned in the spirit, and was troubled in himselfe,
௩௩அவள் அழுகிறதையும் அவளோடு வந்த யூதர்கள் அழுகிறதையும் இயேசு பார்த்தபோது ஆவியிலே கலங்கித் துயரமடைந்து:
34 And saide, Where haue ye layde him? They said vnto him, Lord, come and see.
௩௪அவனை எங்கே வைத்தீர்கள் என்றார். ஆண்டவரே, வந்து பாரும் என்றார்கள்.
35 And Iesus wept.
௩௫இயேசு கண்ணீர் விட்டார்.
36 Then saide the Iewes, Beholde, how he loued him.
௩௬அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள்: இதோ, இவர் அவனை எவ்வளவாக நேசித்தார் என்றார்கள்.
37 And some of them saide, Coulde not he, which opened the eyes of the blinde, haue made also, that this man should not haue died?
௩௭அவர்களில் சிலர்: குருடனுடைய கண்களைத் திறந்த இவர். இவனை மரித்துப் போகாமலிருக்கச் செய்யமுடியாதா என்றார்கள்.
38 Iesus therefore againe groned in himselfe, and came to the graue. And it was a caue, and a stone was layde vpon it.
௩௮அப்பொழுது இயேசு மீண்டும் தமக்குள்ளே கலங்கிக் கல்லறையினிடத்திற்கு வந்தார். அது ஒரு குகையாக இருந்தது; அதின்மேல் ஒரு கல் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.
39 Iesus saide, Take ye away the stone. Martha the sister of him that was dead, said vnto him, Lord, he stinketh alreadie: for he hath bene dead foure dayes.
௩௯இயேசு: கல்லை எடுத்து போடுங்கள் என்றார். மரித்தவனுடைய சகோதரியாகிய மார்த்தாள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: ஆண்டவரே, இப்பொழுது நாற்றம் எடுக்குமே, நான்கு நாட்கள் ஆனதே என்றாள்.
40 Iesus saide vnto her, Saide I not vnto thee, that if thou diddest beleeue, thou shouldest see the glorie of God?
௪0இயேசு அவளைப் பார்த்து: நீ விசுவாசித்தால் தேவனுடைய மகிமையைக் காண்பாய் என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லவில்லையா என்றார்.
41 Then they tooke away the stone from the place where the dead was layde. And Iesus lift vp his eyes, and saide, Father, I thanke thee, because thou hast heard me.
௪௧அப்பொழுது மரித்தவன் வைக்கப்பட்ட இடத்திலிருந்த கல்லை எடுத்துப்போட்டார்கள். இயேசு தம்முடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து: பிதாவே, நீர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தபடியினால் உமக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன்.
42 I knowe that thou hearest me alwayes, but because of the people that stand by, I said it, that they may beleeue, that thou hast sent me.
௪௨நீர் எப்பொழுதும் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறீர் என்று நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; ஆனாலும் நீர் என்னை அனுப்பினதைச் சூழ்ந்து நிற்கும் மக்கள் விசுவாசிக்கும்படியாக அவர்களுக்காக இதைச் சொன்னேன் என்றார்.
43 As hee had spoken these things, hee cried with a loude voyce, Lazarus, come foorth.
௪௩இவைகளைச் சொன்னபின்பு: லாசருவே, வெளியே வா என்று, உரத்த சத்தமாகக் கூப்பிட்டார்.
44 Then he that was dead, came forth, bound hande and foote with bandes, and his face was bound with a napkin. Iesus said vnto them, Loose him, and let him goe.
௪௪அப்பொழுது, மரித்தவன் வெளியே வந்தான். அவன் கால்களும் கைகளும் பிரேதத் துணிகளினால் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்தது, அவன் முகமும் துணியால் சுற்றப்பட்டிருந்தது. இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: இவனைக் கட்டவிழ்த்துவிடுங்கள் என்றார்.
45 Then many of the Iewes, which came to Mary, and had seene the thinges, which Iesus did, beleeued in him.
௪௫அப்பொழுது மரியாளிடத்தில் வந்து, இயேசு செய்தவைகளைப் பார்த்தவர்களாகிய யூதர்களில் அநேகர் அவரிடத்தில் விசுவாசம் வைத்தார்கள்.
46 But some of them went their way to the Pharises, and told them what things Iesus had done.
௪௬அவர்களில் சிலர் பரிசேயர்களிடம்போய், இயேசு செய்தவைகளை அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.
47 Then gathered the hie Priests, and the Pharises a councill, and said, What shall we doe? For this man doeth many miracles.
௪௭அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் பரிசேயர்களும் ஆலோசனை சங்கத்தைக் கூடிவரச்செய்து, நாம் என்ன செய்கிறது? இந்த மனிதன் அநேக அற்புதங்களைச் செய்கிறானே.
48 If we let him thus alone, all men will beleeue in him, and the Romanes will come and take away both our place, and the nation.
௪௮நாம் இவனை இப்படியே விட்டுவிட்டால், எல்லோரும் இவனை விசுவாசிப்பார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ரோமர்கள் வந்து நம்முடைய இடத்தையும் மக்களையும் அழித்துப்போடுவார்களே என்றார்கள்.
49 Then one of them named Caiaphas, which was the hie Priest that same yere, said vnto them, Ye perceiue nothing at all,
௪௯அப்பொழுது அவர்களில் ஒருவனும், அந்த வருடத்துப் பிரதான ஆசாரியனுமாகிய காய்பா என்பவன் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: உங்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் தெரியாது;
50 Nor yet doe you consider that it is expedient for vs, that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
௫0மக்கள் எல்லோரும் கெட்டுப்போகாதபடிக்கு ஒரே மனிதன் மக்களுக்காக மரிப்பது நமக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும் என்று நீங்கள் சிந்திக்காமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்றான்.
51 This spake hee not of himselfe: but being hie Priest that same yere, he prophecied that Iesus should die for that nation:
௫௧இதை அவன் தானாகச் சொல்லாமல், அந்த வருடத்துப் பிரதான ஆசாரியனானபடியினாலே இயேசு யூதமக்களுக்காக மரிக்கப்போகிறார் என்றும்,
52 And not for that nation onely, but that he shoulde gather together in one the children of God, which were scattered.
௫௨அந்த மக்களுக்காக மாத்திரமல்ல, சிதறியிருக்கிற தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளை ஒன்றாகச் சேர்க்கிறதற்காகவும் மரிக்கப்போகிறார் என்றும் தீர்க்கதரிசனமாக சொன்னான்.
53 Then from that day foorth they consulted together, to put him to death.
௫௩அந்தநாள்முதல் அவரைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படிக்கு ஆலோசனை செய்தார்கள்.
54 Iesus therefore walked no more openly among the Iewes, but went thence vnto a countrey neere to the wildernes, into a citie called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
௫௪ஆகவே, இயேசு அதன்பின்பு வெளியரங்கமாக யூதர்களுக்குள்ளே தங்காமல், அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டு வனாந்திரத்திற்கு அருகான இடமாகிய எப்பிராயீம் என்னப்பட்ட ஊருக்குப்போய், அங்கே தம்முடைய சீடர்களோடு தங்கியிருந்தார்.
55 And the Iewes Passeouer was at hande, and many went out of the countrey vp to Hierusalem before the Passeouer, to purifie themselues.
௫௫யூதர்களுடைய பஸ்காபண்டிகை நெருங்கியிருந்தது. அதற்கு முன்னே அநேகர் தங்களைச் சுத்திகரித்துக்கொள்வதற்கு தங்களுடைய நாட்டிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்குப் போனார்கள்.
56 Then sought they for Iesus, and spake among themselues, as they stoode in the Temple, What thinke ye, that he cometh not to the feast?
௫௬அங்கே அவர்கள் இயேசுவைத் தேடிக்கொண்டு தேவாலயத்தில் நிற்கும்போது, ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து: உங்களுக்கு எப்படித் தோன்றுகிறது, அவர் பண்டிகைக்கு வரமாட்டாரோ என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
57 Now both the high Priestes and the Pharises had giuen a commandement, that if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
௫௭பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் பரிசேயர்களும் அவரைப் பிடிக்கும்படி யோசித்து, அவர் இருக்கிற இடத்தை எவனுக்காவது தெரிந்திருந்தால், அதை அறிவிக்கவேண்டும் என்று கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தார்கள்.
