Job 9
1 Then Iob answered, and sayd,
পরে ইয়োব উত্তর দিলেন:
2 I knowe verily that it is so: for howe should man compared vnto God, be iustified?
“বাস্তবিক, আমি জানি যে তা সত্যি। কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের সামনে নিছক নশ্বর মানুষ কীভাবে তাদের নির্দোষিতা প্রমাণ করবে?
3 If I would dispute with him, hee could not answere him one thing of a thousand.
যদিও তারা তাঁর সাথে বাদানুবাদ করতে চায়, তবুও হাজার বারের মধ্যে একবারও তারা তাঁর কথার জবাব দিতে পারে না।
4 He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath bene fierce against him and hath prospered?
তাঁর জ্ঞান অগাধ, তাঁর শক্তি অসীম। তাঁর বিরোধিতা করে কে অক্ষত অবস্থায় বেরিয়ে আসতে পেরেছে?
5 He remoueth the mountaines, and they feele not when he ouerthroweth them in his wrath.
পর্বতগুলির অজান্তে তিনি তাদের স্থানান্তরিত করেন ও তাঁর ক্রোধে সেগুলি উচ্ছেদ করেন।
6 Hee remooueth the earth out of her place, that the pillars thereof doe shake.
তিনি পৃথিবীকে স্বস্থান থেকে নাড়িয়ে দেন, ও তার স্তম্ভগুলিকে টলিয়ে দেন।
7 He commandeth the sunne, and it riseth not: hee closeth vp the starres, as vnder a signet.
তিনি সূর্যকে বারণ করেন ও তা দীপ্তি দেয় না; তিনি নক্ষত্রদের আলো নিভিয়ে দেন।
8 Hee himselfe alone spreadeth out the heauens, and walketh vpon the height of the sea.
তিনি একাই আকাশমণ্ডলের বিস্তার ঘটান, ও সমুদ্রের ঢেউগুলিকে পদদলিত করেন।
9 He maketh the starres Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the climates of the South.
তিনি সপ্তর্ষি ও কালপুরুষ, কৃত্তিকা ও দক্ষিণের নক্ষত্রপুঞ্জের নির্মাতা।
10 He doeth great things, and vnsearcheable: yea, marueilous things without nomber.
তিনি এমন সব আশ্চর্য কাজ করেন যা অনুধাবন করা যায় না, এমন সব অলৌকিক কাজ করেন যা গুনে রাখা যায় না।
11 Lo, when he goeth by me, I see him not: and when he passeth by, I perceiue him not.
তিনি যখন আমাকে পার করে চলে যান, আমি তাঁকে দেখতে পাই না; তিনি যখন কাছ দিয়ে যান, আমি তাঁকে চিনতে পারি না।
12 Behold, when he taketh a pray, who can make him to restore it? who shall say vnto him, What doest thou?
তিনি যদি কেড়ে নেন, কে তাঁকে থামাতে পারবে? কে তাঁকে বলতে পারবে, ‘তুমি কী করছ?’
13 God will not withdrawe his anger, and the most mightie helpes doe stoupe vnder him.
ঈশ্বর তাঁর ক্রোধ নিয়ন্ত্রণে রাখেন না; রহবের বাহিনীও তাঁর পদতলে ভয়ে জড়সড় হয়ে থাকে।
14 Howe much lesse shall I answere him? or howe should I finde out my words with him?
“কীভাবে তবে আমি তাঁর সাথে বাদানুবাদ করব? কীভাবে আমি তাঁর সঙ্গে তর্ক করার জন্য শব্দ খুঁজে পাব?
15 For though I were iust, yet could I not answere, but I would make supplication to my Iudge.
আমি নির্দোষ হওয়া সত্ত্বেও, তাঁকে জবাব দিতে পারিনি; আমার বিচারকের কাছে শুধু আমি দয়াভিক্ষাই করতে পেরেছি।
16 If I cry, and he answere me, yet woulde I not beleeue, that he heard my voyce.
আমি যদিও তাঁকে ডেকেছি ও তিনি সাড়া দিয়েছেন, তাও আমি বিশ্বাস করি না যে তিনি আমার কথায় কর্ণপাত করবেন।
17 For he destroyeth mee with a tempest, and woundeth me without cause.
এক ঝড় পাঠিয়ে তিনি আমাকে চূর্ণ করবেন, ও অকারণেই আমার ক্ষতস্থানগুলির সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি করবেন।
18 He wil not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitternesse.
তিনি আমাকে দম নেওয়ার সুযোগ দেবেন না কিন্তু দুর্দশা দিয়ে আমাকে আচ্ছন্ন করে তুলবেন।
19 If we speake of strength, behold, he is strog: if we speake of iudgement, who shall bring me in to pleade?
এটি যদি শক্তির বিষয় হয়, তবে তিনি শক্তিমান! ও এটি যদি বিচার্য বিষয় হয়, তবে কে তাঁর বিরুদ্ধ আপত্তি তুলবে?
20 If I woulde iustifie my selfe, mine owne mouth shall condemne mee: if I would be perfite, he shall iudge me wicked.
আমি যদি নির্দোষও হতাম, তাও আমার মুখই আমাকে দোষারোপ করত। আমি যদি অনিন্দনীয় হতাম, তাও তা আমায় দোষী সাব্যস্ত করত।
21 Though I were perfite, yet I knowe not my soule: therefore abhorre I my life.
“যদিও আমি অনিন্দনীয়, আমি নিজের বিষয়ে চিন্তিত নই; আমার নিজের জীবনকেই আমি ঘৃণা করি।
22 This is one point: therefore I said, Hee destroyeth the perfite and the wicked.
এসবই সমান; তাই আমি বলি, ‘অনিন্দনীয় ও দুষ্ট উভয়কেই তিনি ধ্বংস করেন।’
23 If the scourge should suddenly slay, should God laugh at the punishment of the innocent?
এক কশা যখন আকস্মিক মৃত্যু ডেকে আনে, তিনি তখন নির্দোষের হতাশা দেখে বিদ্রুপ করেন।
24 The earth is giuen into the hand of ye wicked: he couereth the faces of the iudges therof: if not, where is he? or who is he?
দেশ যখন দুষ্টের হাতে গিয়ে পড়ে, তখন তিনি সেখানকার বিচারকদের চোখ বেঁধে দেন। যদি তিনি এ কাজ না করেন, তবে কে তা করে?
25 My dayes haue bene more swift then a post: they haue fled, and haue seene no good thing.
“আমার দিনগুলি একজন ডাকহরকরার চেয়েও দ্রুতগামী; সেগুলি আনন্দের কোনও আভাস ছাড়াই উড়ে যায়।
26 They are passed as with the most swift ships, and as the eagle that flyeth to the pray.
নলখাগড়ার নৌকার মতো সেগুলি অদৃশ্য হয়ে যায়, যেভাবে ঈগল পাখি তার শিকারের উপরে নেমে আসে।
27 If I say, I wil forget my complaynt, I will cease from my wrath, and comfort mee,
আমি যদি বলি, ‘আমি আমার অভিযোগ ভুলে যাব, আমি আমার অভিব্যক্তি পালটে ফেলব, ও হাসব,’
28 Then I am afrayd of all my sorowes, knowing that thou wilt not iudge me innocent.
তাও আমি এখনও আমার সব দুঃখকষ্টকে ভয় করি, কারণ আমি জানি তুমি আমাকে নির্দোষ গণ্য করবে না।
29 If I be wicked, why labour I thus in vaine?
যেহেতু আমি ইতিমধ্যেই দোষী সাব্যস্ত হয়েছি, তবে কেন আমি অনর্থক সংগ্রাম করব?
30 If I wash my selfe with snowe water, and purge mine hands most cleane,
আমি যদিও সাবান দিয়ে নিজেকে ধুয়ে ফেলি ও পরিষ্কার করার সোডা দিয়ে আমার হাত পরিষ্কার করি,
31 Yet shalt thou plunge mee in the pit, and mine owne clothes shall make me filthie.
তাও তুমি আমাকে পাঁকে ভরা খন্দে ডোবাবে যেন আমার পোশাকও আমায় ঘৃণা করে।
32 For he is not a man as I am, that I shoulde answere him, if we come together to iudgement.
“তিনি আমার মতো নিছক এক নশ্বর মানুষ নন যে আমি তাঁকে উত্তর দেব, ও আদালতে আমরা পরস্পরের সম্মুখীন হব।
33 Neyther is there any vmpire that might lay his hand vpon vs both.
শুধু যদি আমাদের মধ্যে মধ্যস্থতা করার মতো কেউ থাকত, যদি আমাদের একসঙ্গে মিলিত করার মতো কেউ থাকত,
34 Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his feare astonish me:
যদি আমার কাছ থেকে ঈশ্বরের লাঠি দূর করার মতো কেউ থাকত, যেন তাঁর আতঙ্ক আমাকে আর আতঙ্কিত করতে না পারে।
35 Then will I speake, and feare him not: but because I am not so, I holde me still.
তবে তাঁকে ভয় না করে আমি কথা বলতে পারতাম, কিন্তু এখন আমার যা অবস্থা, আমি তা পারব না।
