Job 8
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and saide,
E BILDAD Suhita rispose, e disse:
2 Howe long wilt thou talke of these things? and howe long shall the wordes of thy mouth be as a mightie winde?
Infino a quando proferirai tali ragionamenti, E [saranno] le parole della tua bocca [come] un vento impetuoso?
3 Doeth God peruert iudgement? or doeth the Almightie subuert iustice?
Iddio pervertirebbe egli il giudicio? L'Onnipotente pervertirebbe egli la giustizia?
4 If thy sonnes haue sinned against him, and he hath sent them into the place of their iniquitie,
Se i tuoi figliuoli hanno peccato contro a lui, Egli altresì li ha dati in mano del lor misfatto.
5 Yet if thou wilt early seeke vnto God, and pray to the Almightie,
[Ma] quant'è a te, se tu ricerchi Iddio, E chiedi grazia all'Onnipotente;
6 If thou be pure and vpright, then surely hee will awake vp vnto thee, and he wil make the habitation of thy righteousnesse prosperous.
Se tu [sei] puro e diritto, Certamente egli si risveglierà di presente in favor tuo, E farà prosperare il tuo giusto abitacolo.
7 And though thy beginning be small, yet thy latter ende shall greatly encrease.
E la tua condizione di prima sarà stata piccola, E l'ultima diventerà grandissima.
8 Inquire therefore, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thy selfe to search of their fathers.
Perciocchè domanda pur le età primiere, E disponti ad informarti da' padri loro;
9 (For we are but of yesterday, and are ignorant: for our dayes vpon earth are but a shadowe)
Imperocchè, quant'è a noi, [siamo sol da] ieri in qua, E non abbiamo intendimento; Perchè i nostri giorni [son] come un'ombra sopra la terra;
10 Shall not they teach thee and tell thee, and vtter the wordes of their heart?
Non insegnerannoti essi, [e non] parlerannoti, E non trarranno essi fuori ragionamenti dal cuor loro?
11 Can a rush grow without myre? or can ye grasse growe without water?
Il giunco sorgerà egli senza pantano? L'erba de' prati crescerà ella senz'acqua?
12 Though it were in greene and not cutte downe, yet shall it wither before any other herbe.
E pure, mentre [è] ancor verde, e non [è] ancora segata, Si secca avanti ogni [altra] erba.
13 So are the paths of al that forget God, and the hypocrites hope shall perish.
Tali [son] le vie di tutti quelli che dimenticano Iddio, E [così] perirà la speranza dell'ipocrita;
14 His confidence also shalbe cut off, and his trust shalbe as the house of a spyder.
La cui speranza sarà troncata, E la cui confidanza [sarà] una casa di ragnolo.
15 He shall leane vpon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall holde him fast by it, yet shall it not endure.
Egli si appoggerà in su la casa sua, ma quella non istarà ferma; Egli si atterrà ad essa, ma ella non istarà in piè.
16 The tree is greene before the sunne, and the branches spread ouer the garden thereof.
[Egli] è verdeggiante al sole, E i suoi rami si spandono fuori in sul giardino, nel quale è piantato;
17 The rootes thereof are wrapped about the fountaine, and are folden about ye house of stones.
Le sue radici s'intralciano presso alla fonte, Egli mira la casa di pietra.
18 If any plucke it from his place, and it denie, saying, I haue not seene thee,
Ma, se alcuno lo manderà in ruina, [divellendolo dal luogo suo], [Questo] lo rinnegherà dicendo: Io non ti vidi [giammai].
19 Beholde, it will reioyce by this meanes, that it may growe in another molde.
Ecco, tale [è] l'allegrezza della sua via, E dalla polvere ne germoglieranno altri.
20 Behold, God will not cast away an vpright man, neither will he take the wicked by the hand,
Ecco, Iddio non disdegna l'[uomo] intiero; Ma altresì non presta la mano a' maligni.
21 Till he haue filled thy mouth with laughter, and thy lippes with ioy.
Ancora empierà egli la tua bocca di riso, E le tue labbra di giubilo.
22 They that hate thee, shall be clothed with shame, and the dwelling of the wicked shall not remaine.
Quelli che ti odiano saranno vestiti di vergogna; Ma il tabernacolo degli empi non sarà [più].
