Job 5
1 Call nowe, if any will answere thee, and to which of the Saintes wilt thou turne?
Cheamă acum, dacă este vreunul să îți răspundă; și la care dintre sfinți te vei întoarce?
2 Doubtlesse anger killeth the foolish, and enuie slayeth the idiote.
Căci furia omoară pe nebun și invidia ucide pe cel prost.
3 I haue seene the foolish well rooted, and suddenly I cursed his habitation, saying,
Am văzut pe cel nebun prinzând rădăcină, dar dintr-odată i-am blestemat locuința.
4 His children shalbe farre from saluation, and they shall be destroyed in the gate, and none shall deliuer them.
Copiii lui sunt departe de siguranță și sunt zdrobiți la poartă și nu este vreunul să îi elibereze.
5 The hungrie shall eate vp his haruest: yea, they shall take it from among the thornes, and the thirstie shall drinke vp their substance.
Al cărui seceriș îl mănâncă cel flămând și îl ia chiar dintre spini, iar tâlharul le înghite averea.
6 For miserie commeth not foorth of the dust, neither doeth affliction spring out of the earth.
Deși nenorocirea nu iese din țărână, nici necazul nu răsare din pământ;
7 But man is borne vnto trauaile, as the sparkes flie vpwarde.
Totuși omul se naște pentru necaz, precum scânteile zboară în sus.
8 But I would inquire at God, and turne my talke vnto God:
Eu aș căuta spre Dumnezeu și i-aș încredința cauza mea lui Dumnezeu,
9 Which doeth great things and vnsearchable, and marueilous things without nomber.
Care face lucruri mari și de nepătruns, lucruri minunate fără număr;
10 He giueth raine vpon the earth, and powreth water vpon the streetes,
Care dă ploaie peste pământ și trimite ape peste câmpuri;
11 And setteth vp on hie them that be lowe, that the sorowfull may be exalted to saluation.
Pentru a așeza în înalt pe cei umili; și cei ce jelesc să fie înălțați la siguranță.
12 He scattereth the deuices of the craftie: so that their handes can not accomplish that which they doe enterprise.
El zădărnicește planurile celor vicleni, astfel că mâinile lor nu își pot împlini planul.
13 He taketh the wise in their craftinesse, and the counsel of the wicked is made foolish.
El prinde pe înțelepți în vicleniile lor, și sfatul celor perverși este dat peste cap.
14 They meete with darkenesse in the day time, and grope at noone day, as in the night.
Ei se întâlnesc cu întunericul în timpul zilei și bâjbâie în miezul zilei precum în noapte.
15 But he saueth the poore from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hande of the violent man,
Dar el salvează pe cel sărac de sabie, de gura lor și de mâna celui puternic.
16 So that the poore hath his hope, but iniquitie shall stop her mouth.
Astfel cel sărac are speranță și nelegiuirea își oprește gura.
17 Beholde, blessed is the man whome God correcteth: therefore refuse not thou the chastising of the Almightie.
Iată, fericit este omul pe care Dumnezeu îl corectează, de aceea nu disprețui disciplinarea celui Atotputernic;
18 For he maketh the wound, and bindeth it vp: he smiteth, and his handes make whole.
Căci el face să doară, și tot el leagă rănile; el rănește și tot mâinile lui vindecă.
19 He shall deliuer thee in sixe troubles, and in the seuenth the euill shall not touch thee.
El te va elibera în șase necazuri; da, în șapte nu te va atinge niciun rău.
20 In famine he shall deliuer thee from death: and in battel from the power of the sworde.
În foamete te va răscumpăra de la moarte, și în război de la puterea sabiei.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue, and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it commeth.
Vei fi ascuns de biciuirea limbii și nu te vei teme de nimicire când vine.
22 But thou shalt laugh at destruction and dearth, and shalt not be afraide of the beast of the earth.
De nimicire și foamete vei râde; și nu te vei teme de fiarele pământului.
23 For the stones of the fielde shall be in league with thee, and the beastes of the field shall be at peace with thee.
Pentru că vei fi în alianță cu pietrele câmpului și fiarele câmpului vor fi în pace cu tine.
24 And thou shalt knowe, that peace shall be in thy tabernacle, and thou shalt visite thine habitation, and shalt not sinne.
Și vei cunoaște că al tău cort va fi în pace; și îți vei cerceta locuința și nu vei păcătui.
25 Thou shalt perceiue also, that thy seede shalbe great, and thy posteritie as the grasse of the earth.
Vei cunoaște de asemenea că sămânța ta va fi mare și urmașii tăi ca iarba pământului.
26 Thou shalt goe to thy graue in a ful age, as a ricke of corne commeth in due season into the barne.
Vei ajunge la mormântul tău la o vârstă deplină, precum un snop de grâu strâns la timpul lui.
27 Lo, thus haue we inquired of it, and so it is: heare this and knowe it for thy selfe.
Iată, aceasta, noi am cercetat-o, așa este; ascult-o și cunoaște-o pentru binele tău.
