< Job 5 >
1 Call nowe, if any will answere thee, and to which of the Saintes wilt thou turne?
“Ne àlɔ̃ la, yɔ ame aɖe gake ame kae atɔ na wò? Kɔkɔetɔwo dometɔ ka ŋu nàtrɔ ɖo?
2 Doubtlesse anger killeth the foolish, and enuie slayeth the idiote.
Tosesẽ wua bometsila eye ŋubiã wua numanyala.
3 I haue seene the foolish well rooted, and suddenly I cursed his habitation, saying,
Nye ŋutɔ mekpɔ bometsila wònɔ ke tom gake kasia woƒo fi de eƒe aƒe.
4 His children shalbe farre from saluation, and they shall be destroyed in the gate, and none shall deliuer them.
Dedinɔnɔ le adzɔge ke na viawo, wobua fɔe le ʋɔnu eye ame aɖeke meli aʋli eta o.
5 The hungrie shall eate vp his haruest: yea, they shall take it from among the thornes, and the thirstie shall drinke vp their substance.
Dɔwuitɔwo ɖua nuku si wòxa, woɖea esiwo tsi ŋuwo me gɔ̃ hã eye ame siwo wum tsikɔ le la ƒe ve me ƒuna ɖe eƒe kesinɔnuwo ŋu.
6 For miserie commeth not foorth of the dust, neither doeth affliction spring out of the earth.
Elabena fukpekpe medoa go tso ke me alo dzɔgbevɔ̃e medona tso anyigba tume o.
7 But man is borne vnto trauaile, as the sparkes flie vpwarde.
Gake abe ale si dzoxi dzona yia dzii ene la, nenemae wodzi ame na hiãtuame.
8 But I would inquire at God, and turne my talke vnto God:
“Ke nenye nyee wònye la, anye ne maɖe kuku na Mawu atsɔ nye nya aɖo eƒe ŋkume.
9 Which doeth great things and vnsearchable, and marueilous things without nomber.
Ewɔa dzesi siwo gɔme womate ŋu ase o eye wòwɔa nukunu siwo womate ŋu axlẽ o.
10 He giueth raine vpon the earth, and powreth water vpon the streetes,
Enana tsi dzana ɖe anyigba dzi, eye wòɖoa tsi ɖe gbegbe.
11 And setteth vp on hie them that be lowe, that the sorowfull may be exalted to saluation.
Edoa ɖokuibɔbɔlawo ɖe dzi eye wòkɔa ame siwo le nu xam la dana ɖe dziɖeɖi me.
12 He scattereth the deuices of the craftie: so that their handes can not accomplish that which they doe enterprise.
Egblẽa ayetɔwo ƒe ɖoɖowo me, ale be woƒe asiwo mekpɔa dzidzedze o.
13 He taketh the wise in their craftinesse, and the counsel of the wicked is made foolish.
Eléa nunyalawo le woƒe ayemenuwɔwɔwo me eye wòkplɔa ame drãwo ƒe nu drã wɔwɔ dzonae.
14 They meete with darkenesse in the day time, and grope at noone day, as in the night.
Viviti dona ɖe wo le ŋkeke me eye wotsaa asi blukɔ me abe zã mee ene.
15 But he saueth the poore from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hande of the violent man,
Eɖea hiãtɔwo tso yi si le woƒe nu me la me eye wòɖea wo le ŋusẽtɔwo ƒe fego me.
16 So that the poore hath his hope, but iniquitie shall stop her mouth.
Ale mɔkpɔkpɔ ɖoa hiãtɔ si eye nu madzɔmadzɔ miaa eƒe nu.
17 Beholde, blessed is the man whome God correcteth: therefore refuse not thou the chastising of the Almightie.
“Woayra ŋutsu si Mawu ɖɔna ɖo eya ta mègado vlo Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la ƒe amehehe o.
18 For he maketh the wound, and bindeth it vp: he smiteth, and his handes make whole.
Elabena edea abi ame ŋu eye wògablanɛ, ewɔa nuvevi ame gake eƒe asi yɔa dɔ.
19 He shall deliuer thee in sixe troubles, and in the seuenth the euill shall not touch thee.
Aɖe wò le dzɔgbevɔ̃e ade me eye le adrelia me la, vɔ̃ aɖeke mawɔ wò o.
20 In famine he shall deliuer thee from death: and in battel from the power of the sworde.
Aɖe wò le ku ƒe asi me le dɔŋɔli eye le aʋa me la, aɖe wò le yi ƒe asi me.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue, and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it commeth.
Aɖe wò le aɖeɖiƒoame me, eye màvɔ̃ ne gbegblẽ va o.
22 But thou shalt laugh at destruction and dearth, and shalt not be afraide of the beast of the earth.
Wò la àko nu ne gbegblẽ kple dɔwuame le nu gblẽm eye màvɔ̃ anyigbadzilã wɔadãwo o.
23 For the stones of the fielde shall be in league with thee, and the beastes of the field shall be at peace with thee.
Elabena wò kple kpe siwo le agble me la miabla nu eye lã wɔadãwo anɔ anyi kpli wò le ŋutifafa me.
24 And thou shalt knowe, that peace shall be in thy tabernacle, and thou shalt visite thine habitation, and shalt not sinne.
Ànyae be wò agbadɔ le dedie eye ne èxlẽ wò nunɔamesiwo la, àkpɔe be ɖeke mebu o.
25 Thou shalt perceiue also, that thy seede shalbe great, and thy posteritie as the grasse of the earth.
Ànyae be viwòwo asɔ gbɔ eye wò dzidzimeviwo asɔ agbɔ abe gbe mumu le anyigba dzi ene.
26 Thou shalt goe to thy graue in a ful age, as a ricke of corne commeth in due season into the barne.
Ànɔ agbe wòade edeƒe, ayi yɔ me kple dzidzɔ abe lu ye woxa hebla le nuŋeɣi ene.
27 Lo, thus haue we inquired of it, and so it is: heare this and knowe it for thy selfe.
“Míedo esia kpɔ eye wònye nyateƒe. Eya ta see ne nànɔ agbe ɖe eŋu.”
