Job 38
1 Then answered the Lord vnto Iob out of the whirle winde, and said,
तब स्वयं याहवेह ने तूफान में से अय्योब को उत्तर दिया:
2 Who is this that darkeneth the counsell by wordes without knowledge?
“कौन है वह, जो अज्ञानता के विचारों द्वारा मेरी युक्ति को बिगाड़ रहा है?
3 Girde vp nowe thy loynes like a man: I will demande of thee and declare thou vnto me.
ऐसा करो अब तुम पुरुष के भाव कमर बांध लो; तब मैं तुमसे प्रश्न करना प्रारंभ करूंगा, तुम्हें इन प्रश्नों का उत्तर देना होगा.
4 Where wast thou when I layd the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast vnderstanding,
“कहां थे तुम, जब मैंने पृथ्वी की नींव डाली थी? यदि तुममें कुछ भी समझ है, मुझे इसका उत्तर दो.
5 Who hath layde the measures thereof, if thou knowest, or who hath stretched the line ouer it:
यदि तुम्हें मालूम हो! तो मुझे बताओ, किसने पृथ्वी की नाप ठहराई है? अथवा, किसने इसकी माप रेखाएं निश्चित की?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof set: or who layed the corner stone thereof:
किस पदार्थ पर इसका आधार स्थापित है? किसने इसका आधार रखा?
7 When the starres of the morning praysed me together, and all the children of God reioyced:
जब निशांत तारा सहगान में एक साथ गा रहे थे तथा सभी स्वर्गदूत उल्लासनाद कर रहे थे, तब कहां थे तुम?
8 Or who hath shut vp the Sea with doores, when it yssued and came foorth as out of the wombe:
“अथवा किसने महासागर को द्वारों द्वारा सीमित किया, जब गर्भ से इसका उद्भव हो रहा था;
9 When I made the cloudes as a couering thereof, and darkenesse as the swadeling bands thereof:
जब मैंने इसके लिए मेघ परिधान निर्मित किया तथा घोर अंधकार को इसकी मेखला बना दिया,
10 When I stablished my commandement vpon it, and set barres and doores,
तथा मैंने इस पर सीमाएं चिन्हित कर दीं तथा ऐसे द्वार बना दिए, जिनमें चिटकनियां लगाई गईं;
11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no farther, and here shall it stay thy proude waues.
तथा मैंने यह आदेश दे दिया ‘तुम यहीं तक आ सकते हो, इसके आगे नहीं तथा यहां आकर तुम्हारी वे सशक्त वाली तरंगें रुक जाएंगी’?
12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy dayes? hast thou caused the morning to knowe his place,
“क्या तुमने अपने जीवन में प्रभात को यह आदेश दिया है, कि वह उपयुक्त क्षण पर ही अरुणोदय किया करे,
13 That it might take hold of the corners of the earth, and that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
कि यह पृथ्वी के हर एक छोर तक प्रकट करे, कि दुराचारी अपने-अपने छिपने के स्थान से हिला दिए जाएं?
14 It is turned as clay to facion, and all stand vp as a garment.
गीली मिट्टी पर मोहर लगाने समान परिवर्तन जिसमें परिधान के सूक्ष्म भेद स्पष्ट हो जाते हैं.
15 And from the wicked their light shall be taken away, and the hie arme shalbe broken.
सूर्य प्रकाश की उग्रता दुर्वृत्तों को दुराचार से रोके रहती है, मानो हिंसा के लिए उठी हुई उनकी भुजा तोड़ दी गई हो.
16 Hast thou entred into the bottomes of the sea? or hast thou walked to seeke out the depth?
“अच्छा, यह बताओ, क्या तुमने जाकर महासागर के स्रोतों का निरीक्षण किया है अथवा सागर तल पर चलना फिरना किया है?
17 Haue the gates of death bene opened vnto thee? or hast thou seene the gates of the shadowe of death?
क्या तुमने घोर अंधकार में जाकर मृत्यु के द्वारों को देखा है?
18 Hast thou perceiued the breadth of the earth? tell if thou knowest all this.
क्या तुम्हें ज़रा सा भी अनुमान है, कि पृथ्वी का विस्तार कितना है, मुझे बताओ, क्या-क्या मालूम है तुम्हें?
19 Where is the way where light dwelleth? and where is the place of darkenesse,
“कहां है प्रकाश के घर का मार्ग? वैसे ही, कहां है अंधकार का आश्रय,
20 That thou shouldest receiue it in the boundes thereof, and that thou shouldest knowe the paths to the house thereof?
कि तुम उन्हें यह तो सूचित कर सको, कि कहां है उनकी सीमा तथा तुम इसके घर का मार्ग पहचान सको?
21 Knewest thou it, because thou wast then borne, and because the nomber of thy dayes is great?
तुम्हें वास्तव में यह मालूम है, क्योंकि तब तुम्हारा जन्म हो चुका होगा! तब तो तुम्हारी आयु के वर्ष भी अनेक ही होंगे!
22 Hast thou entred into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seene the treasures of ye haile,
“क्या तुमने कभी हिम के भंडार में प्रवेश किया है, अथवा क्या तुमने कभी हिम के भण्डारगृह देखे हैं,
23 Which I haue hid against the time of trouble, against the day of warre and battell?
उन ओलों को जिन्हें मैंने पीड़ा के समय के लिए रखा हुआ है युद्ध तथा संघर्ष के दिनों के लिए?
24 By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the East winde vpon the earth?
क्या तुम्हें मालूम है कि प्रकाश का विभाजन कहां है, अथवा यह कि पृथ्वी पर पुरवाई कैसे बिखर जाती है?
25 Who hath deuided the spowtes for the raine? or the way for the lightning of ye thunders,
क्या तुम्हें मालूम है कि बड़ी बरसात के लिए धारा की नहर किसने काटी है, अथवा बिजली की दिशा किसने निर्धारित की है,
26 To cause it to raine on the earth where no man is, and in the wildernes where there is no man?
कि रेगिस्तान प्रदेश में पानी बरसायें, उस बंजर भूमि जहां कोई नहीं रहता,
27 To fulfil the wilde and waste place, and to cause the bud of the herbe to spring forth?
कि उजड़े और बंजर भूमि की प्यास मिट जाए, तथा वहां घास के बीजों का अंकुरण हो जाए?
28 Who is the father of the rayne? or who hath begotten the droppes of the dewe?
है कोई वृष्टि का जनक? अथवा कौन है ओस की बूंदों का उत्पादक?
29 Out of whose wombe came the yee? who hath ingendred the frost of the heauen?
किस गर्भ से हिम का प्रसव है? तथा आकाश का पाला कहां से जन्मा है?
30 The waters are hid as with a stone: and the face of the depth is frosen.
जल पत्थर के समान कठोर हो जाता है तथा इससे महासागर की सतह एक कारागार का रूप धारण कर लेती है.
31 Canst thou restraine the sweete influences of the Pleiades? or loose the bandes of Orion?
“अय्योब, क्या तुम कृतिका नक्षत्र के समूह को परस्पर गूंथ सकते हो, अथवा मृगशीर्ष के बंधनों को खोल सकते हो?
32 Canst thou bring foorth Mazzaroth in their time? canst thou also guide Arcturus with his sonnes?
क्या तुम किसी तारामंडल को उसके निर्धारित समय पर प्रकट कर सकते हो तथा क्या तुम सप्त ऋषि को दिशा-निर्देश दे सकते हो?
33 Knowest thou the course of heauen, or canst thou set the rule thereof in the earth?
क्या तुम आकाशमंडल के अध्यादेशों को जानते हो, अथवा क्या तुम पृथ्वी पर भी वही अध्यादेश प्रभावी कर सकते हो?
34 Canst thou lift vp thy voice to the cloudes that the aboundance of water may couer thee?
“क्या यह संभव है कि तुम अपना स्वर मेघों तक प्रक्षेपित कर दो, कि उनमें परिसीमित जल तुम्हारे लिए विपुल वृष्टि बन जाए?
35 Canst thou sende the lightenings that they may walke, and say vnto thee, Loe, heere we are?
क्या तुम बिजली को ऐसा आदेश दे सकते हो, कि वे उपस्थित हो तुमसे निवेदन करें, ‘क्या आज्ञा है, आप आदेश दें’?
36 Who hath put wisedome in the reines? or who hath giuen the heart vnderstanding?
किसने बाज पक्षी में ऐसा ज्ञान स्थापित किया है, अथवा किसने मुर्गे को पूर्व ज्ञान की क्षमता प्रदान की है?
37 Who can nomber cloudes by wisedome? or who can cause to cease the bottels of heaue,
कौन है वह, जिसमें ऐसा ज्ञान है, कि वह मेघों की गणना कर लेता है? अथवा कौन है वह, जो आकाश के पानी के मटकों को झुका सकता है,
38 When the earth groweth into hardnesse, and the clottes are fast together?
जब धूल मिट्टी का ढेला बनकर कठोर हो जाती है, तथा ये ढेले भी एक दूसरे से मिल जाते हैं?
39 Wilt thou hunt the pray for the lyon? or fill the appetite of the lyons whelpes,
“अय्योब, क्या तुम सिंहनी के लिए शिकार करते हो, शेरों की भूख को मिटाते हो
40 When they couch in their places, and remaine in the couert to lye in waite?
जो अपनी कन्दरा में दुबकी बैठी है, अथवा जो झाड़ियों में घात लगाए बैठी है?
41 Who prepareth for the rauen his meate, when his birdes crie vnto God, wandering for lacke of meate?
कौवों को पौष्टिक आहार कौन परोसता है, जब इसके बच्चे परमेश्वर को पुकारते हैं, तथा अपना भोजन खोजते हुए भटकते रहते हैं?
