Job 36

1 Elihu also proceeded and sayde,

حوصله کن و به آنچه که دربارهٔ خدا می‌گویم گوش بده.

2 Suffer me a litle, and I will instruct thee: for I haue yet to speake on Gods behalfe.

3 I will fetche my knowledge afarre off, and will attribute righteousnes vnto my Maker.

من با دانش وسیع خود به تو نشان خواهم داد که خالق من عادل است.

4 For truely my wordes shall not be false, and he that is perfect in knowledge, speaketh with thee.

بدان کسی که در مقابل تو ایستاده، مردی فاضل است و آنچه می‌گوید عین حقیقت می‌باشد.

5 Behold, the mighty God casteth away none that is mighty and valiant of courage.

فهم و دانایی خدا کامل است. او قادر به انجام هر کاری است، با وجود این کسی را خوار نمی‌شمارد.

6 He mainteineth not the wicked, but he giueth iudgement to the afflicted.

او بدکاران را بی‌سزا نمی‌گذارد و به داد مظلومان می‌رسد.

7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but they are with Kings in ye throne, where he placeth them for euer: thus they are exalted.

از نیکان حمایت کرده، آنها را چون پادشاهان سرافراز می‌نماید و عزت ابدی به آنها می‌بخشد.

8 And if they bee bound in fetters and tyed with the cordes of affliction,

هرگاه در زحمت بیفتند و اسیر و گرفتار شوند،

9 Then will he shewe them their worke and their sinnes, because they haue bene proude.

خدا اعمال گناه‌آلود و تکبر ایشان را که موجب گرفتاریشان شده به آنها نشان می‌دهد

10 He openeth also their eare to discipline, and commandeth them that they returne from iniquity.

و به ایشان کمک می‌کند که به سخنان او توجه نمایند و از گناه دست بکشند.

11 If they obey and serue him, they shall end their dayes in prosperity, and their yeres in pleasures.

اگر به او گوش داده، از او اطاعت کنند، آنگاه تمام عمر شادمان و خوشبخت خواهند بود؛

12 But if they wil not obey, they shall passe by the sworde, and perish without knowledge.

و اگر گوش ندهند، در جنگ هلاک شده، در جهل و نادانی خواهند مرد.

13 But the hypocrites of heart increase the wrath: for they call not when he bindeth them.

اشخاص خدانشناس در دل خود خشم را می‌پرورانند و حتی وقتی خدا آنها را تنبیه می‌کند از او کمک نمی‌طلبند.

14 Their soule dyeth in youth, and their life among the whoremongers.

آنها به سوی فساد و هرزگی کشیده می‌شوند و در عنفوان جوانی می‌میرند.

15 He deliuereth the poore in his affliction, and openeth their eare in trouble.

خدا به‌وسیلۀ سختی و مصیبت با انسان سخن می‌گوید و او را از رنجهایش می‌رهاند.

16 Euen so woulde he haue taken thee out of the streight place into a broade place and not shut vp beneath: and that which resteth vpon thy table, had bene full of fat.

خدا می‌خواهد تو را از این سختی و مصیبت برهاند و تو را کامیاب سازد تا بتوانی در امنیت و وفور نعمت زندگی کنی.

17 But thou art ful of the iudgement of the wicked, though iudgement and equitie maintaine all things.

اما در حال حاضر فکرت با داوری شریران درگیر است. نگران نباش داوری و عدالت اجرا خواهند شد.

18 For Gods wrath is, least hee should take that away in thine abundance: for no multitude of giftes can deliuer thee.

مواظب باش کسی با رشوه و ثروت، تو را از راه راست منحرف نسازد.

19 Wil he regard thy riches? he regardeth not golde, nor all them that excel in strength.

فریاد تو به جایی نخواهد رسید و با همۀ تلاشهای سختت نمی‌توانی از این تنگنا آزاد شوی.

20 Be not carefull in the night, howe he destroyeth the people out of their place.

در آرزوی فرا رسیدن شب نباش، تا مردم را از مکانشان بیرون بِکِشی.

21 Take thou heede: looke not to iniquitie: for thou hast chosen it rather then affliction.

از گناه دوری کن، زیرا خدا این گرفتاری را به همین سبب فرستاده است تا تو را از گناه دور نگه دارد.

22 Beholde, God exalteth by his power: what teacher is like him?

بدان که قدرت خدا برتر از هر قدرتی است. کیست که مثل او بتواند به انسان تعلیم دهد؟

23 Who hath appointed to him his way? or who can say, Thou hast done wickedly?

چه کسی می‌تواند چیزی به خدا یاد دهد و یا او را به بی‌انصافی متهم سازد؟

24 Remember that thou magnifie his worke, which men behold.

به یاد داشته باش که کارهای او را تجلیل کنی، کارهایی که مردمان در وصف آنها سراییده‌اند.

25 All men see it, and men beholde it afarre off.

همهٔ مردم کارهای خدا را مشاهده می‌کنند، هر چند از درک کامل آنها عاجزند.

26 Beholde, God is excellent, and we knowe him not, neither can the nomber of his yeres bee searched out.

زیرا خدا به قدری عظیم است که نمی‌توان او را آنچنان که باید شناخت و به ازلیت وی پی برد.

27 When he restraineth the droppes of water, the rayne powreth down by the vapour thereof,

او بخار آب را به بالا می‌فرستد و آن را به باران تبدیل می‌کند.

28 Which raine the cloudes do droppe and let fall abundantly vpon man.

سپس ابرها آن را به فراوانی برای انسان فرو می‌ریزند.

29 Who can know the diuisions of ye clouds and the thunders of his tabernacle?

آیا واقعاً کسی چگونگی گسترده شدن ابرها در آسمان و برخاستن غرش رعد از درون آنها را می‌فهمد؟

30 Beholde, he spreadeth his light vpon it, and couereth the bottome of the sea.

ببینید چگونه سراسر آسمان را با برق روشن می‌سازد، ولی اعماق دریا همچنان تاریک می‌ماند.

31 For thereby hee iudgeth the people, and giueth meate abundantly.

خدا با کارهای حیرت‌انگیز خود غذای فراوان در دسترس همهٔ انسانها قرار می‌دهد.

32 He couereth the light with the clouds, and commandeth them to go against it.

او دستهای خود را با تیرهای آتشین برق پر می‌کند و هر یک از آنها را به سوی هدف پرتاب می‌نماید.

33 His companion sheweth him thereof, and there is anger in rising vp.

رعد او از فرا رسیدن طوفان خبر می‌دهد؛ و حتی حیوانات نیز از آمدن آن آگاه می‌شوند.
