< Job 36 >
1 Elihu also proceeded and sayde,
I korero ano a Erihu, i mea,
2 Suffer me a litle, and I will instruct thee: for I haue yet to speake on Gods behalfe.
Tukua ahau, kia iti nei, a ka whakaatu ahau ki a koe; he kupu ano hoki aku mo ta te Atua.
3 I will fetche my knowledge afarre off, and will attribute righteousnes vnto my Maker.
4 For truely my wordes shall not be false, and he that is perfect in knowledge, speaketh with thee.
E kore rawa hoki aku kupu e teka: tenei kei a koe te tangata kua tino nui tona matauranga.
5 Behold, the mighty God casteth away none that is mighty and valiant of courage.
Nana, he pakari te Atua, e kore ano ia e whakahawea: pakari tonu te kaha o tona matauranga.
6 He mainteineth not the wicked, but he giueth iudgement to the afflicted.
7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but they are with Kings in ye throne, where he placeth them for euer: thus they are exalted.
8 And if they bee bound in fetters and tyed with the cordes of affliction,
9 Then will he shewe them their worke and their sinnes, because they haue bene proude.
Na ka whakakitea e ia ki a ratou ta ratou mahi, me o ratou he, i mea ai ratou i nga mea whakapehapeha.
10 He openeth also their eare to discipline, and commandeth them that they returne from iniquity.
11 If they obey and serue him, they shall end their dayes in prosperity, and their yeres in pleasures.
Ki te rongo ratou, a ka mahi ki a ia, ka pau o ratou ra i runga i te pai, o ratou tau i runga i nga ahuareka.
12 But if they wil not obey, they shall passe by the sworde, and perish without knowledge.
13 But the hypocrites of heart increase the wrath: for they call not when he bindeth them.
Ko te hunga whakaponokore o ratou ngakau, puranga rawa i a ratou te riri; kahore a ratou karanga awhina ina herea ratou e ia.
14 Their soule dyeth in youth, and their life among the whoremongers.
Ka mate ratou i te taitamarikitanga, a ka ngaro to ratou ora i roto i te hunga poke.
15 He deliuereth the poore in his affliction, and openeth their eare in trouble.
Ko tana he whakaora i te rawakore ina mate, e whakapuaretia ana e ia o ratou taringa ina tukinotia.
16 Euen so woulde he haue taken thee out of the streight place into a broade place and not shut vp beneath: and that which resteth vpon thy table, had bene full of fat.
17 But thou art ful of the iudgement of the wicked, though iudgement and equitie maintaine all things.
18 For Gods wrath is, least hee should take that away in thine abundance: for no multitude of giftes can deliuer thee.
Na i te mea he riri tenei, kia tupato kei riro koe i te nui o au rawa; aua hoki koe e whakapeautia e te nui o te utu.
19 Wil he regard thy riches? he regardeth not golde, nor all them that excel in strength.
E ranea ranei ou rawa, e kore ai koe e taka he? nga uaua katoa ranei o tou kaha?
20 Be not carefull in the night, howe he destroyeth the people out of their place.
21 Take thou heede: looke not to iniquitie: for thou hast chosen it rather then affliction.
22 Beholde, God exalteth by his power: what teacher is like him?
Nana, ko te Atua, ko tona kaha hei whakanui, ko wai te kaiwhakaako hei rite mona?
23 Who hath appointed to him his way? or who can say, Thou hast done wickedly?
Ko wai te kaitohutohu i te ara mona? Ko wai hei mea, Kua he tau mahi?
24 Remember that thou magnifie his worke, which men behold.
Kia mahara kia whakanuia e koe tana mahi, e waiatatia nei e te tangata.
25 All men see it, and men beholde it afarre off.
Kua tirohia nei e nga tangata katoa e matakitakina mai nei e te tangata i tawhiti.
26 Beholde, God is excellent, and we knowe him not, neither can the nomber of his yeres bee searched out.
Nana, he nui te Atua, e kore ano e mohiotia e tatou; e kore ano hoki te maha o ona tau e taea te rapu atu.
27 When he restraineth the droppes of water, the rayne powreth down by the vapour thereof,
Ko ia nei hei ngongo ake i nga pata wai, ka tauia i tona kohu hei awha:
28 Which raine the cloudes do droppe and let fall abundantly vpon man.
29 Who can know the diuisions of ye clouds and the thunders of his tabernacle?
Ae ra, e mohiotia ana ranei e tetahi nga horahanga o nga kapua, te ngangau o tona tapenakara?
30 Beholde, he spreadeth his light vpon it, and couereth the bottome of the sea.
Nana, e horahia ana e ia tona marama a tawhio noa i a ia; e hipokina ana hoki e ia te takere o te moana.
31 For thereby hee iudgeth the people, and giueth meate abundantly.
Ko ana mea hoki ena hei whakawa mo nga iwi, nui tonu te kai e homai ana e ia.
32 He couereth the light with the clouds, and commandeth them to go against it.
E hipokina ana e ia ona ringa ki te uira, a whakahaua iho e ia te wahi e pa atu ai.
33 His companion sheweth him thereof, and there is anger in rising vp.
Hei kaiwhakaatu i a ia tona haruru, e waitohu ana hoki ki nga kararehe i te tupuhi meake puta mai.
