Job 34
1 Moreouer Elihu answered, and saide,
Eliú respondeu mais, dizendo:
2 Heare my wordes, ye wise men, and hearken vnto me, ye that haue knowledge.
Ouvi, vós sábios, minhas palavras; e vós, inteligentes, dai-me ouvidos.
3 For the eare tryeth the words, as the mouth tasteth meate.
Porque o ouvido prova as palavras, assim como o paladar experimenta a comida.
4 Let vs seeke iudgement among vs, and let vs knowe among our selues what is good.
Escolhamos para nós o que é correto, [e] conheçamos entre nós o que é bom.
5 For Iob hath saide, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my iudgement.
Pois Jó disse: Eu sou justo, e Deus tem me tirado meu direito.
6 Should I lye in my right? my wound of the arrowe is grieuous without my sinne.
Por acaso devo eu mentir quanto ao meu direito? Minha ferida é dolorosa mesmo que eu não tenha transgressão.
7 What man is like Iob, that drinketh scornfulnesse like water?
Que homem há como Jó, que bebe o escárnio como água?
8 Which goeth in the companie of them that worke iniquitie, and walketh with wicked men?
E que caminha na companhia dos que praticam maldade, e anda com homens perversos?
9 For he hath saide, It profiteth a man nothing that he should walke with God.
Porque disse: De nada aproveita ao homem agradar-se em Deus.
10 Therefore hearken vnto me, ye men of wisedome, God forbid that wickednesse should be in God, and iniquitie in the Almightie.
Portanto vós, homens de bom-senso, escutai-me; longe de Deus esteja a maldade, e do Todo- Poderoso a perversidade!
11 For he will render vnto man according to his worke, and cause euery one to finde according to his way.
Porque ele paga ao ser humano [conforme] sua obra, e faz a cada um conforme o seu caminho.
12 And certainely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almightie peruert iudgement.
Certamente Deus não faz injustiça, e o Todo-Poderoso não perverte o direito.
13 Whome hath he appointed ouer the earth beside him selfe? or who hath placed the whole worlde?
Quem o pôs para administrar a terra? E quem dispôs a todo o mundo?
14 If he set his heart vpon man, and gather vnto him selfe his spirit and his breath,
Se ele tomasse a decisão, e recolhesse para si seu espírito e seu fôlego,
15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall returne vnto dust.
Toda carne juntamente expiraria, e o ser humano se tornaria em pó.
16 And if thou hast vnderstanding, heare this and hearken to the voyce of my wordes.
Se pois há [em ti] entendimento, ouve isto: dá ouvidos ao som de minhas palavras.
17 Shal he that hateth iudgement, gouerne? and wilt thou iudge him wicked that is most iust?
Por acaso quem odeia a justiça poderá governar? E condenarás tu ao Poderoso Justo?
18 Wilt thou say vnto a King, Thou art wicked? or to princes, Ye are vngodly?
Pode, por acaso, o rei ser chamado de vil, [e] os príncipes de perversos?
19 How much lesse to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, and regardeth not the rich, more then the poore? for they be all the worke of his handes.
[Quanto menos] a aquele que não faz acepção de pessoas de príncipes, nem valoriza mais o rico que o pobre! Pois todos são obras de suas mãos.
20 They shall die suddenly, and the people shalbe troubled at midnight, and they shall passe foorth and take away the mightie without hand.
Em um momento morrem; e à meia noite os povos são sacudidos, e passam; e o poderoso será tomado sem ação humana.
21 For his eyes are vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goings.
Porque seus olhos estão sobre os caminhos do homem, e ele vê todos os seus passos.
22 There is no darkenesse nor shadowe of death, that the workers of iniquitie might be hid therein.
Não há trevas nem sombra de morte em que os que praticam maldade possam se esconder.
23 For he will not lay on man so much, that he should enter into iudgement with God.
Pois ele não precisa observar tanto ao homem para que este possa entrar em juízo com Deus.
24 He shall breake the mightie without seeking, and shall set vp other in their stead.
Ele quebranta aos fortes sem [precisar de] investigação, e põe outros em seu lugar.
25 Therefore shall he declare their works: he shall turne the night, and they shalbe destroyed.
Visto que ele conhece suas obras, de noite os trastorna, e ficam destroçados.
26 He striketh them as wicked men in the places of the seers,
Ele os espanca à vista pública por serem maus.
27 Because they haue turned backe from him, and would not consider all his wayes:
Pois eles se desviaram de segui-lo, e não deram atenção a nenhum de seus caminhos.
28 So that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto him, and he hath heard the cry of the afflicted.
Assim fizeram com que viesse a ele o clamor do pobre, e ele ouvisse o clamor dos aflitos.
29 And when he giueth quietnesse, who can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who can beholde him, whether it be vpon nations, or vpon a man onely?
E se ele ficar quieto, quem [o] condenará? Se ele esconder o rosto, quem o olhará? [Ele está] quer sobre um povo, quer sobre um único ser humano,
30 Because the hypocrite doeth reigne, and because the people are snared.
Para que a pessoa hipócrita não reine, [e] não haja ciladas ao povo.
31 Surely it appertaineth vnto God to say, I haue pardoned, I will not destroy.
Por que [não tão somente] se diz: Suportei [teu castigo] não farei mais o que é errado;
32 But if I see not, teach thou me: if I haue done wickedly, I will doe no more.
Ensina-me o que não vejo; se fiz alguma maldade, nunca mais a farei?
33 Wil he performe the thing through thee? for thou hast reproued it, because that thou hast chosen, and not I. now speake what thou knowest.
Será a recompensa da parte dele como tu queres, para que a recuses? És tu que escolhes, e não eu; o que tu sabes, fala.
34 Let men of vnderstanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken vnto me.
As pessoas de entendimento dirão comigo, e o homem sábio me ouvirá;
35 Iob hath not spoken of knowledge, neyther were his wordes according to wisedome.
Jó não fala com conhecimento, e a suas palavras falta prudência.
36 I desire that Iob may be tryed, vnto the ende touching the answeres for wicked men.
Queria eu que Jó fosse provado até o fim, por causa de suas respostas comparáveis a de homens malignos.
37 For he addeth rebellion vnto his sinne: he clappeth his handes among vs, and multiplieth his wordes against God.
Pois ao seu pecado ele acrescentou rebeldia; ele bate as mãos [de forma desrespeitosa] entre nós, e multiplica suas palavras contra Deus.
