Job 32
1 So these three men ceased to answere Iob, because he esteemed himselfe iust.
Et ces trois hommes cessèrent de répondre à Job, parce qu’il était juste à ses propres yeux.
2 Then the wrath of Elihu the sonne of Barachel the Buzite, of the familie of Ram, was kindled: his wrath, I say, was kindled against Iob, because he iustified himselfe more then God.
Alors s’enflamma la colère d’Élihu, fils de Barakeël, le Buzite, de la famille de Ram: sa colère s’enflamma contre Job, parce qu’il se justifiait lui-même plutôt que Dieu;
3 Also his anger was kindled against his three friends, because they could not finde an answere, and yet condemned Iob.
et sa colère s’enflamma contre ses trois amis, parce qu’ils ne trouvaient pas de réponse et qu’ils condamnaient Job.
4 (Now Elihu had wayted til Iob had spoken: for they were more ancient in yeeres then he)
Et Élihu avait attendu que Job ait cessé de parler, parce qu’ils étaient plus avancés en jours que lui.
5 So when Elihu saw, that there was none answere in the mouth of the three men, his wrath was kindled.
Et Élihu vit qu’il n’y avait point de réponse dans la bouche des trois hommes, et sa colère s’enflamma.
6 Therefore Elihu the sonne of Barachel, the Buzite answered, and sayd, I am yong in yeres, and ye are ancient: therefore I doubted, and was afraide to shewe you mine opinion.
Et Élihu, fils de Barakeël, le Buzite, répondit et dit: Moi, je suis jeune, et vous êtes des vieillards; c’est pourquoi je redoutais et je craignais de vous faire connaître ce que je sais.
7 For I said, The dayes shall speake, and the multitude of yeeres shall teach wisedome.
Je disais: Les jours parleront, et le grand nombre des années donnera à connaître la sagesse.
8 Surely there is a spirite in man, but the inspiration of the Almightie giueth vnderstanding.
Toutefois il y a un esprit qui est dans les hommes, et le souffle du Tout-puissant leur donne de l’intelligence:
9 Great men are not alway wise, neither doe the aged alway vnderstand iudgement.
Ce ne sont pas les grands qui sont sages, ni les anciens qui discernent ce qui est juste.
10 Therefore I say, Heare me, and I will shew also mine opinion.
C’est pourquoi je dis: Écoute-moi; moi aussi je ferai connaître ce que je sais.
11 Behold, I did waite vpon your wordes, and hearkened vnto your knowledge, whiles you sought out reasons.
Voici, j’ai attendu vos paroles, j’ai écouté vos raisonnements, jusqu’à ce que vous ayez examiné le sujet;
12 Yea, when I had considered you, lo, there was none of you that reproued Iob, nor answered his wordes:
Je vous ai donné toute mon attention: et voici, il n’y a eu personne d’entre vous qui convainque Job, qui réponde à ses paroles, –
13 Lest ye should say, We haue found wisedome: for God hath cast him downe, and no man.
Afin que vous ne disiez pas: Nous avons trouvé la sagesse. Dieu le fera céder, et non pas l’homme.
14 Yet hath he not directed his words to me, neyther will I answere him by your wordes.
Or il ne m’a pas adressé de discours, et je ne lui répondrai pas avec vos paroles.
15 Then they fearing, answered no more, but left off their talke.
Ils ont été confondus, ils ne répondent plus; les paroles leur sont ôtées.
16 When I had wayted (for they spake not, but stood still and answered no more)
J’ai attendu, car ils ne parlaient plus, car ils se tenaient là, ils ne répondaient plus;
17 Then answered I in my turne, and I shewed mine opinion.
Je répondrai, moi aussi, à mon tour; je ferai connaître, moi aussi, ce que je sais;
18 For I am full of matter, and the spirite within me compelleth me.
Car je suis plein de paroles, l’esprit qui est au-dedans de moi me presse.
19 Beholde, my belly is as the wine, which hath no vent, and like the new bottels that brast.
Voici, mon ventre est comme un vin qui n’a pas été ouvert; il éclate comme des outres neuves.
20 Therefore will I speake, that I may take breath: I will open my lippes, and will answere.
Je parlerai et je respirerai; j’ouvrirai mes lèvres et je répondrai;
21 I will not now accept the person of man, neyther will I giue titles to man.
Je ne ferai pas acception de personnes, et je ne flatterai aucun homme;
22 For I may not giue titles, lest my Maker should take me away suddenly.
Car je ne sais pas flatter: celui qui m’a fait m’emporterait bientôt.
