Job 26
1 Bvt Iob answered, and sayde,
Job vastasi ja sanoi:
2 Whom helpest thou? him that hath no power? sauest thou the arme that hath no strength?
Ketäs autat? sitäkö, jolla ei voimaa ole? autatkos sitä, jolla ei voimaa ole käsivarressa?
3 Whome counsellest thou? him that hath no wisedome? thou shewest right well as the thing is.
Ketäs neuvot? sitäkö, joka ei mitään tiedä, ja opetat voimallista toimittamaan?
4 To whom doest thou declare these words? or whose spirit commeth out of thee?
Kenen edessä sinä puhut, ja kenen edessä henkes käy ulos?
5 The dead things are formed vnder the waters, and neere vnto them.
Uljaat huokaavat, niin myös ne, jotka veden alla asuvat.
Helvetti on avoinna hänen edessänsä, ja kadotuksella ei ole peitettä. (Sheol h7585)
7 He stretcheth out the North ouer the emptie place, and hangeth the earth vpon nothing.
Hän venyttää pohjoisen tyhjän päälle, ja maa riippuu tyhjän päällä.
8 He bindeth the waters in his cloudes, and the cloude is not broken vnder them.
Vedet hän kokoo pilviinsä, ja pilvet ei repee niiden alla.
9 He holdeth backe the face of his throne: and spreadeth his cloude vpon it.
Hän pitää istuimensa, ja levittää pilvensä sen päälle.
10 He hath set bounds about the waters, vntil the day and night come to an ende.
Hän on asettanut määrän vetten ympärille, siihenasti kuin valkeus ja pimeys loppuvat.
11 The pillars of heauen tremble and quake at his reproofe.
Taivaan patsaat vapisevat ja hämmästyvät hänen kurituksestansa.
12 The sea is calme by his power, and by his vnderstanding he smiteth the pride thereof.
Voimallansa on hän halaissut meren, ja hänen ymmärryksestänsä tyventyy meren ylpeys.
13 His Spirite hath garnished the heauens, and his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
Taivas tulee kirkkaaksi hänen ilmansa kautta, ja hän valmistaa kädellänsä pitkän kärmeen.
14 Loe, these are part of his wayes: but how litle a portion heare we of him? and who can vnderstand his fearefull power?
Katso, näin tapahtuu hänen tekoinsa kanssa, mutta näistä olemme me vähän kuulleet; vaan kuka voi ymmärtää hänen väkevyytensä jylinän?
