Job 22
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, and sayde,
૧ત્યારે અલિફાઝ તેમાનીએ જવાબ આપતાં કહ્યું કે,
2 May a man be profitable vnto God, as he that is wise, may be profitable to himselfe?
૨“શું માણસ ઈશ્વરને લાભકારક હોઈ શકે? શું ડાહ્યો માણસ પોતાને જ લાભકારક હોય એ સાચું છે?
3 Is it any thing vnto the Almightie, that thou art righteous? or is it profitable to him, that thou makest thy wayes vpright?
૩તું ન્યાયી હોય તોપણ સર્વશક્તિમાનને શો આનંદ થાય? તું તારા રસ્તા સીધા રાખે તેમાં તેમને શો ફાયદો?
4 Is it for feare of thee that he will accuse thee? or go with thee into iudgement?
૪શું તે તારાથી ડરે છે કે તે તને ઠપકો આપે છે અને તે તને તેમના ન્યાયાસન આગળ ઊભો કરે છે?
5 Is not thy wickednes great, and thine iniquities innumerable?
૫શું તારી દુષ્ટતા ઘણી નથી? તારા અન્યાય તો પાર વિનાના છે.
6 For thou hast taken the pledge from thy brother for nought, and spoyled the clothes of the naked.
૬કેમ કે તેં તારા ભાઈની થાપણ મફતમાં લીધી છે; અને તારા દેણદારોનાં વસ્ત્રો કાઢી લઈને તેઓને નિર્વસ્ત્ર કરી દીધા છે.
7 To such as were wearie, thou hast not giuen water to drinke, and hast withdrawen bread from the hungrie.
૭તમે થાકેલાને પીવાને પાણી આપ્યું નથી; તમે ભૂખ્યાને રોટલી આપી નથી,
8 But the mightie man had the earth, and he that was in autoritie, dwelt in it.
૮જો કે શક્તિશાળી માણસ તો ભૂમિનો માલિક હતો. અને સન્માનિત પુરુષ તેમાં વસતો હતો.
9 Thou hast cast out widowes emptie, and the armes of the fatherles were broken.
૯તેં વિધવાઓને ખાલી હાથે પાછી વાળી છે; અને અનાથોના હાથ ભાંગી નાખ્યા છે.
10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and feare shall suddenly trouble thee:
૧૦તેથી તારી ચારેતરફ ફાંસલો છે, અને અણધારી આફત તને ડરાવી મૂકે છે;
11 Or darkenes that thou shouldest not see, and abundance of waters shall couer thee.
૧૧જેને તું જોઈ શકતો નથી, એવો અંધકાર તને ગભરાવે છે, અને પૂરનાં પાણીએ તને ઢાંકી દીધો છે.
12 Is not God on hie in the heauen? and behold the height of the starres how hie they are.
૧૨શું ઈશ્વર આકાશના ઉચ્ચસ્થાનમાં નથી? તારાઓની ઊંચાઈ જો, તેઓ કેટલા ઊંચા છે?
13 But thou sayest, How should God know? can he iudge through the darke cloude?
૧૩તું કહે છે, ઈશ્વર શું જાણે છે? શું તે ઘોર અંધકારની આરપાર જોઈને ન્યાય કરી શકે?
14 The cloudes hide him that he can not see, and he walketh in the circle of heauen.
૧૪ગાઢ વાદળ તેને એવી રીતે ઢાંકી દે છે કે તે જોઈ શકતો નથી; અને આકાશના ઘુંમટ પર તે ચાલે છે.’
15 Hast thou marked the way of the worlde, wherein wicked men haue walked?
૧૫જે પ્રાચીન માર્ગ પર દુષ્ટ લોકો ચાલ્યા હતા, તેને શું તું વળગી રહીશ?
16 Which were cut downe before the time, whose foundation was as a riuer that ouerflowed:
૧૬તેઓનો સમય પૂરો થયા અગાઉ તેઓને ઝડપી લેવામાં આવ્યા હતા, તેઓનો પાયો રેલમાં તણાઈ ગયો હતો.
17 Which sayd vnto God, Depart from vs, and asked what the Almightie could do for them.
૧૭તેઓ ઈશ્વરને કહેતા હતા કે, ‘અમારાથી દૂર ચાલ્યા જાઓ;’ તેઓ કહેતા કે, સર્વશક્તિમાન અમને શું કરી શકવાના છે?’
18 Yet hee filled their houses with good things: but let the counsell of the wicked be farre from me.
૧૮તેમ છતાં પણ ઈશ્વરે તેઓનાં ઘર સારી વસ્તુઓથી ભર્યાં; પણ દુષ્ટ લોકોના વિચાર મારાથી દૂર છે.
19 The righteous shall see them, and shall reioyce, and the innocent shall laugh them to scorne.
૧૯ન્યાયીઓ તેમને જોઈને ખુશ થાય છે; અને નિર્દોષ તુચ્છકાર સહિત તેમના પર હસશે.
20 Surely our substance is hid: but the fire hath deuoured the remnant of them.
૨૦તેઓ કહે છે, અમારી સામે ઊઠનારા નિશ્ચે કપાઈ ગયા છે; અને તેઓમાંથી બચેલાને અગ્નિએ ભસ્મ કર્યા છે.’
21 Therefore acquaint thy selfe, I pray thee, with him, and make peace: thereby thou shalt haue prosperitie.
૨૧હવે ઈશ્વરની સાથે સુલેહ કર અને શાંતિમાં રહે; જેથી તારું ભલું થશે.
22 Receiue, I pray thee, the law of his mouth, and lay vp his words in thine heart.
૨૨કૃપા કરીને તેમના મુખથી બોધ સાંભળ અને તેમની વાણી તારા હૃદયમાં સંઘરી રાખ.
23 If thou returne to the Almightie, thou shalt be buylt vp, and thou shalt put iniquitie farre from thy tabernacle.
૨૩જો તું સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વરની પાસે પાછો વળે તો તું સ્થિર થશે, અને જો તું તારા તંબુમાંથી અન્યાય દૂર કરશે તો તું સ્થિર થશે.
24 Thou shalt lay vp golde for dust, and the gold of Ophir, as the flintes of the riuers.
૨૪જો તું તારું ધન ધૂળમાં ફેંકી દે, અને ઓફીરનું સોનું નાળાંના પાણીમાં ફેંકી દે.
25 Yea, the Almightie shalbe thy defence, and thou shalt haue plentie of siluer.
૨૫તો સર્વશક્તિમાન તારો ખજાનો થશે, અને તને મૂલ્યવાન ચાંદી પ્રાપ્ત થશે.
26 And thou shalt then delite in the Almightie, and lift vp thy face vnto God.
૨૬તું સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વરમાં આનંદ માનશે; અને તું ઈશ્વર તરફ તારું મુખ ઊંચું કરશે.
27 Thou shalt make thy praier vnto him, and he shall heare thee, and thou shalt render thy vowes.
૨૭તું તેમને પ્રાર્થના કરશે, એટલે તે તારું સાંભળશે; અને પછી તું તારી પ્રતિજ્ઞાઓ પૂરી કરીશ.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and he shall establish it vnto thee, and the light shall shine vpon thy wayes.
૨૮વળી તું કોઈ બાબત વિષે ઠરાવ કરશે તો તે સફળ થશે; તારા માર્ગમાં પ્રકાશ પડશે.
29 When others are cast downe, then shalt thou say, I am lifted vp: and God shall saue the humble person.
૨૯ઈશ્વર અભિમાનીને પાડે છે, અને નમ્રને તેઓ બચાવે છે.
30 The innocent shall deliuer the yland, and it shalbe preserued by the purenes of thine hands.
૩૦જેઓ નિર્દોષ નથી તેઓને પણ તેઓ ઉગારે છે, તારા હાથની શુદ્ધતાને લીધે તેઓ તને ઉગારશે.”
