Job 21
1 Bvt Iob answered, and sayd,
Job vastasi ja sanoi:
2 Heare diligently my wordes, and this shalbe in stead of your consolations.
Kuulkaat visusti minun puhettani, ja antakaat neuvoa teitänne.
3 Suffer mee, that I may speake, and when I haue spoken, mocke on.
Kärsikäät minua, että minä myös puhuisin: ja kuin minä puhunut olen, pilkkaa sitte.
4 Doe I direct my talke to man? If it were so, how should not my spirit be troubled?
Puhunko minä ihmisen kanssa? miksi ei minun henkeni pitäisi tästä murehtiman?
5 Marke mee, and be abashed, and lay your hand vpon your mouth.
Katsokaat minun päälleni, ja hämmästykäät, ja pankaat kätenne suun eteen.
6 Euen when I remember, I am afrayde, and feare taketh hold on my flesh.
Koska minä sitä ajattelen, niin minä peljästyn, ja vavistus tulee minun lihani päälle.
7 Wherefore do the wicked liue, and waxe olde, and grow in wealth?
Miksi jumalattomat elävät, tulevat vanhaksi ja lisääntyvät tavarassa?
8 Their seede is established in their sight with them, and their generation before their eyes.
Heidän siemenensä on pysyväinen heidän ympärillänsä, ja heidän sikiänsä ovat läsnä heitä.
9 Their houses are peaceable without feare, and the rod of God is not vpon them.
Heidän huoneensa ovat vapaat pelvosta, ja Jumalan vitsa ei ole heidän päällänsä.
10 Their bullocke gendreth, and fayleth not: their cow calueth, and casteth not her calfe.
Heidän sonninsa päästetään, ja ei käy väärin, heidän lehmänsä poikivat, ja ei ole hedelmättömät.
11 They send forth their children like sheepe, and their sonnes dance.
Heidän nuoret lapsensa käyvät ulos niinkuin lauma, ja heidän lapsensa hyppäävät.
12 They take the tabret and harpe, and reioyce in the sound of the organs.
He riemuitsevat trumpuilla ja kanteleilla, ja iloitsevat huiluilla.
He vanhenevat hyvissä päivissä, ja menevät silmänräpäyksessä helvettiin. (Sheol h7585)
14 They say also vnto God, Depart from vs: for we desire not the knowledge of thy wayes.
Jotka sanovat Jumalalle: mene pois meidän tyköämme; sillä emme tahdo tietää sinun tietäs.
15 Who is the Almightie, that we should serue him? and what profit should we haue, if we should pray vnto him?
Kuka on Kaikkivaltias, että meidän pitää häntä palveleman? eli mitä meidän siitä hyvää on, että me häntä rukoilemme?
16 Lo, their wealth is not in their hand: therfore let the counsell of the wicked bee farre from me.
Mutta katso, heidän tavaransa ei ole heidän kädessänsä: jumalattomain neuvo pitää kaukana minusta oleman.
17 How oft shall the candle of the wicked be put out? and their destruction come vpon them? he wil deuide their liues in his wrath.
Kuinka jumalattoman kynttilä sammuu, ja heidän kadotuksensa tulee heidän päällensä? Hänen pitää jakaman surkeutta vihassansa.
18 They shall be as stubble before the winde, and as chaffe that the storme carieth away.
Heidän pitää oleman niinkuin korsi tuulessa, ja niinkuin akanat, jotka tuulispää vie salaisesti pois.
19 God wil lay vp the sorowe of the father for his children: when he rewardeth him, hee shall knowe it.
Jumala säästää hänen onnettomuutensa hänen lapsillensa; koska hän maksaa hänelle, silloin hänen pitää tietämän.
20 His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drinke of the wrath of the Almightie.
Hänen silmänsä pitää näkemän hänen kadotuksensa, ja Kaikkivaltiaan vihasta pitää hänen juoman.
21 For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the nomber of his moneths is cut off?
Sillä mitä hän tottelee hänen huonettansa hänen jälkeensä? Ja hänen kuukauttensa luku tuskin tulee puolillensa.
22 Shall any teache God knowledge, who iudgeth the highest things?
Kuka tahtoo opettaa Jumalaa, joka korkiatkin tuomitsee?
23 One dyeth in his full strength, being in all ease and prosperitie.
Tämä kuolee vauraana ja terveenä, rikkaana ja onnellisena.
24 His breasts are full of milke, and his bones runne full of marowe.
Hänen piimäastiansa ovat täynnä rieskaa, ja hänen luunsa ovat täynnä ydintä.
25 And another dieth in the bitternes of his soule, and neuer eateth with pleasure.
Mutta toinen kuolee murheellisella mielellä, ja ei koskaan syönyt ilossa.
26 They shall sleepe both in the dust, and the wormes shall couer them.
Ja he makaavat ynnä maassa, ja madot peittävät heidät.
27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the enterprises, wherewith ye do me wrong.
Katso, minä tunnen teidän ajatuksenne ja teidän väärän aivoituksenne minua vastaan.
28 For ye say, Where is the princes house? and where is the tabernacle of the wickeds dwelling?
Sillä te sanotte: kussa ruhtinaan huone on? ja kussa ovat majat, joissa jumalattomat asuiva?
29 May ye not aske the that go by the way? and ye can not deny their signes.
Ettekö ole tutkineet vaeltavaisilta? ja ettekö tiedä hänen merkkejänsä?
30 But the wicked is kept vnto the day of destruction, and they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
Sillä paha säästetään kadotuksen päivään, ja hän pysyy hamaan vihan päivään asti.
31 Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall reward him for that he hath done?
Kuka sanoo hänen edessänsä hänen tiensä? ja kuka kostaa hänelle sen minkä hän tehnyt on?
32 Yet shall he be brought to the graue, and remaine in the heape.
Mutta hän viedään hautaan, ja täytyy joukossa pysyä.
33 The slimie valley shalbe sweete vnto him, and euery man shall draw after him, as before him there were innumerable.
Ojan multa kelpasi hänelle, ja kaikki ihmiset viedään hänen perässänsä; ja ne jotka ovat hänen edellänsä olleet, ovat epälukuiset.
34 How then comfort ye me in vaine, seeing in your answeres there remaine but lyes?
Miksi te minua lohdutatte turhaan? ja teidän vastauksenne löydetään vääräksi.
