Job 18
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Då svarade Bildad af Suah, och sade:
2 When will yee make an ende of your words? cause vs to vnderstande, and then wee will speake.
När viljen I göra en ända på att tala? Akter dock till; sedan vilje vi tala.
3 Wherefore are wee counted as beastes, and are vile in your sight?
Hvi varde vi aktade ( för dig ) såsom oskälig djur, och äre så orene för edor ögon?
4 Thou art as one that teareth his soule in his anger. Shall the earth bee forsaken for thy sake? or the rocke remoued out of his place?
Vill du brista för hätskhets skull? Menar du, att för dina skull skall jorden öfvergifven varda, och hälleberget utaf sitt rum försatt varda?
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shalbe quenched, and the sparke of his fire shall not shine.
Och skall dens ogudaktigas ljus utslockna, och gnistan af hans eld skall intet lysa.
6 The light shalbe darke in his dwelling, and his candle shalbe put out with him.
Ljuset i hans hyddo skall varda till mörker, och hans lykta öfver honom skall utsläckt varda.
7 The steps of his strength shalbe restrained, and his owne counsell shall cast him downe.
Hans håfvors tillgångar skola varda trånga, och hans anslag skall fela honom;
8 For hee is taken in the net by his feete, and he walketh vpon the snares.
Ty han är med sina fötter förd i snarona, och vandrar i nätet.
9 The grenne shall take him by the heele, and the theefe shall come vpon him.
En snara skall hålla hans häl, och de törstige skola få fatt på honom.
10 A snare is layed for him in the ground, and a trappe for him in the way.
Hans snara är lagd på jordene, och hans gildre på hans stig.
11 Fearefulnesse shall make him afrayde on euery side, and shall driue him to his feete.
På alla sidor skola hastig förfärelse förskräcka honom, så att han icke skall veta hvartut han skall.
12 His strength shalbe famine: and destruction shalbe readie at his side.
Hunger skall blifva hans håfvor, och uselhet skall blifva honom tillredd, och hänga vid honom.
13 It shall deuoure the inner partes of his skinne, and the first borne of death shall deuoure his strength.
Hans huds starkhet skall förtärd varda, och hans starkhet skall dödsens Förste förtära.
14 His hope shalbe rooted out of his dwelling, and shall cause him to go to the King of feare.
Hans tröst skall utrotas utu hans hyddo, och de skola drifva honom till förskräckelsens Konung.
15 Feare shall dwell in his house (because it is not his) and brimstone shalbe scattered vpon his habitation.
Uti hans hyddo skall intet blifva; öfver hans palats skall svafvel strödt varda.
16 His rootes shalbe dryed vp beneath, and aboue shall his branche be cut downe.
Nedantill skola hans rötter förtorkas, och ofvanuppå afskäras hans säd.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall haue no name in the streete.
Hans åminnelse skall förgås i landena, och skall intet namn hafva på gatone.
18 They shall driue him out of the light vnto darkenesse, and chase him out of the world.
Han skall fördrifven varda ifrå ljusena i mörkret, och af jordene bortkastad varda.
19 Hee shall neither haue sonne nor nephewe among his people, nor any posteritie in his dwellings.
Han skall ingen barn hafva, och ingen barnabarn i sin folk; honom skall ingen qvar blifva i hans slägt.
20 The posteritie shalbe astonied at his day, and feare shall come vpon the ancient.
De som efter honom komma, skola gifva sig öfver hans dag; och dem, som för honom äro, skall fruktan uppå komma.
21 Surely such are the habitations of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
Detta är dens orättfärdigas boning; och detta är rummet till honom, som intet vet af Gudi.
