Job 18
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Então respondeu Bildad, o suhita, e disse:
2 When will yee make an ende of your words? cause vs to vnderstande, and then wee will speake.
Até quando não fareis fim de palavras? considerai bem, e então falaremos.
3 Wherefore are wee counted as beastes, and are vile in your sight?
Porque somos estimados como bestas, e imundos aos vossos olhos?
4 Thou art as one that teareth his soule in his anger. Shall the earth bee forsaken for thy sake? or the rocke remoued out of his place?
Oh tu, que despedaças a tua alma na tua ira, será a terra deixada por tua causa? e remover-se-ão as rochas do seu lugar?
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shalbe quenched, and the sparke of his fire shall not shine.
Na verdade, a luz dos ímpios se apagará, e a faísca do seu fogo não resplandecerá.
6 The light shalbe darke in his dwelling, and his candle shalbe put out with him.
A luz se escurecerá nas suas tendas, e a sua lâmpada sobre ele se apagará.
7 The steps of his strength shalbe restrained, and his owne counsell shall cast him downe.
Os passos do seu poder se estreitarão, e o seu conselho o derribará.
8 For hee is taken in the net by his feete, and he walketh vpon the snares.
Porque por seus próprios pés é lançado na rede, e andará nos fios enredados.
9 The grenne shall take him by the heele, and the theefe shall come vpon him.
O laço o apanhará pelo calcanhar, e prevalecerá contra ele o salteador.
10 A snare is layed for him in the ground, and a trappe for him in the way.
Está escondida debaixo da terra uma corda, e uma armadilha na vereda,
11 Fearefulnesse shall make him afrayde on euery side, and shall driue him to his feete.
Os assombros o espantarão em redor, e o farão correr de uma parte para a outra, por onde quer que apresse os passos.
12 His strength shalbe famine: and destruction shalbe readie at his side.
Será faminto o seu rigor, e a destruição está pronta ao seu lado.
13 It shall deuoure the inner partes of his skinne, and the first borne of death shall deuoure his strength.
O primogênito da morte consumirá as costelas da sua pele: consumirá, digo, os seus membros.
14 His hope shalbe rooted out of his dwelling, and shall cause him to go to the King of feare.
A sua confiança será arrancada da sua tenda, e isto o fará caminhar para o rei dos assombros.
15 Feare shall dwell in his house (because it is not his) and brimstone shalbe scattered vpon his habitation.
Morará na sua mesma tenda, não lhe ficando nada: espalhar-se-á enxofre sobre a sua habitação.
16 His rootes shalbe dryed vp beneath, and aboue shall his branche be cut downe.
Por debaixo se secarão as suas raízes, e por de cima serão cortados os seus ramos.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall haue no name in the streete.
A sua memória perecerá da terra, e pelas praças não terá nome.
18 They shall driue him out of the light vnto darkenesse, and chase him out of the world.
Da luz o lançarão nas trevas, e afugenta-lo-ão do mundo.
19 Hee shall neither haue sonne nor nephewe among his people, nor any posteritie in his dwellings.
Não terá filho nem neto entre o seu povo, e resto nenhum dele ficará nas suas moradas.
20 The posteritie shalbe astonied at his day, and feare shall come vpon the ancient.
Do seu dia se espantarão os vindouros, e os antigos serão sobresaltados de horror.
21 Surely such are the habitations of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
Tais são, na verdade, as moradas do perverso, e este é o lugar do que não conhece a Deus.
