Job 18
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Wtedy Bildad z Szuach odpowiedział:
2 When will yee make an ende of your words? cause vs to vnderstande, and then wee will speake.
Kiedy wreszcie położycie kres tym słowom? Pomyślcie, potem będziemy mówić.
3 Wherefore are wee counted as beastes, and are vile in your sight?
Czemu uważacie nas za bydło? Czemu jesteśmy obrzydliwi w waszych oczach?
4 Thou art as one that teareth his soule in his anger. Shall the earth bee forsaken for thy sake? or the rocke remoued out of his place?
Ty, który szarpiesz gniewem swą duszę – czy z twojego powodu będzie opuszczona ziemia i skały będą przesunięte ze swego miejsca?
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shalbe quenched, and the sparke of his fire shall not shine.
Tak, światło niegodziwych zgaśnie, a iskra jego ognia już nie zaświeci.
6 The light shalbe darke in his dwelling, and his candle shalbe put out with him.
Światło jego przybytku się zaćmi i jego pochodnia nad nim zagaśnie.
7 The steps of his strength shalbe restrained, and his owne counsell shall cast him downe.
Kroki jego siły będą skrępowane, jego własna rada powali go.
8 For hee is taken in the net by his feete, and he walketh vpon the snares.
Jego nogi bowiem zawiodą go w sieć, chodzi po sidłach.
9 The grenne shall take him by the heele, and the theefe shall come vpon him.
Sidło uchwyci go za piętę i przemoże go łupieżca.
10 A snare is layed for him in the ground, and a trappe for him in the way.
Sidło dla niego ukryte jest w ziemi, a pułapka na niego – na drodze.
11 Fearefulnesse shall make him afrayde on euery side, and shall driue him to his feete.
Zewsząd będą go przerażać strachy, ścigają go na każdym kroku.
12 His strength shalbe famine: and destruction shalbe readie at his side.
Głód osłabi jego siły i zniszczenie [będzie] czyhało u jego boku.
13 It shall deuoure the inner partes of his skinne, and the first borne of death shall deuoure his strength.
Pożre żyły jego skóry, pierworodny śmierci pożre jego członki.
14 His hope shalbe rooted out of his dwelling, and shall cause him to go to the King of feare.
Jego ufność będzie wykorzeniona z jego namiotu i zostanie on przyprowadzony do króla strachów.
15 Feare shall dwell in his house (because it is not his) and brimstone shalbe scattered vpon his habitation.
[Strach] będzie mieszkał w jego namiocie, bo [ten] nie należy do niego; jego mieszkanie będzie posypane siarką.
16 His rootes shalbe dryed vp beneath, and aboue shall his branche be cut downe.
Od spodu uschną jego korzenie, a z wierzchu będzie obcięta jego gałąź.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall haue no name in the streete.
Pamięć o nim zginie z ziemi, a jego imienia nie [wspomną] na ulicach.
18 They shall driue him out of the light vnto darkenesse, and chase him out of the world.
Wypędzą go ze światła do ciemności i wyrzucą go z okręgu świata.
19 Hee shall neither haue sonne nor nephewe among his people, nor any posteritie in his dwellings.
Nie będzie miał syna ani wnuka pośród swego ludu i nikt nie pozostanie w jego mieszkaniach.
20 The posteritie shalbe astonied at his day, and feare shall come vpon the ancient.
Ci, którzy przyjdą po nim, osłupieją na jego dzień, tak jak poprzednich ogarnął strach.
21 Surely such are the habitations of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
Takie są mieszkania niegodziwych i takie jest miejsce tego, który nie zna Boga.
