Job 16
1 Bvt Iob answered, and said,
E GIOBBE rispose e disse:
2 I haue oft times heard such things: miserable comforters are ye all.
Io ho più volte udite le stesse cose; Voi tutti [siete] consolatori molesti.
3 Shall there be none ende of wordes of winde? or what maketh thee bold so to answere?
Finiranno mai le parole di vento? Ovvero, di che ti fai forte, che tu replichi [ancora?]
4 I could also speake as yee doe: (but woulde God your soule were in my soules stead) I could keepe you company in speaking, and could shake mine head at you,
Se l'anima vostra fosse nello stato dell'anima mia, Anch'io potrei parlar come voi, Mettere insieme parole contro a voi, E scuotervi il capo contra.
5 But I woulde strengthen you with my mouth, and the comfort of my lips should asswage your sorowe.
[Ma anzi] io vi conforterei con la mia bocca, E la consolazione delle mie labbra rallenterebbe [il vostro dolore].
6 Though I speake, my sorow can not be asswaged: though I cease, what release haue I?
Se io parlo, il mio dolore non però si rallenta; E se io resto [di parlare], quanto se ne partirà egli da me?
7 But now hee maketh mee wearie: O God, thou hast made all my congregation desolate,
Certo, egli ora mi ha straccato; E tu mi hai, [o Dio], diserta tutta la mia brigata.
8 And hast made me full of wrinkles which is a witnesse thereof, and my leannes ryseth vp in me, testifying the same in my face.
E mi hai fatto diventar tutto grinzo, [Il che] è un testimonio [del mio male]; La mia magrezza si leva contro a me, [e] mi testifica contra in faccia.
9 His wrath hath torne me, and hee hateth me, and gnasheth vpon mee with his teeth: mine enemie hath sharpened his eyes against me.
L'ira sua [mi] ha lacerato, ed egli procede contro a me da avversario; Egli digrigna i denti contro a me; Il mio nemico appunta i suoi occhi in me.
10 They haue opened their mouthes vpon me, and smitten me on the cheeke in reproch; they gather themselues together against me.
Hanno aperta la bocca contro a me, Mi hanno battuto in su le guance per vituperio, Si sono adunati insieme contro a me.
11 God hath deliuered me to the vniust, and hath made mee to turne out of the way by the hands of the wicked.
Iddio mi ha messo in poter del perverso, E mi ha fatto cader nelle mani degli empi.
12 I was in welth, but he hath brought me to nought: he hath taken me by the necke, and beaten me, and set me as a marke for himselfe.
Io era in istato tranquillo, ed egli mi ha rotto; E presomi per lo collo, mi ha tritato, E mi ha rizzato per suo bersaglio.
13 His archers compasse mee rounde about: he cutteth my reines, and doth not spare, and powreth my gall vpon the ground.
I suoi arcieri mi hanno intorniato; Egli mi trafigge le reni, e non mi risparmia punto; Egli mi ha sparso in terra il mio fiele.
14 He hath broken me with one breaking vpon another, and runneth vpon me like a gyant.
Egli mi rompe di rottura sopra rottura, Egli mi corre addosso come un possente [uomo].
15 I haue sowed a sackcloth vpon my skinne, and haue abased mine horne vnto the dust.
Io ho cucito un sacco sopra la mia pelle, Ed ho lordato il mio splendore nella polvere.
16 My face is withered with weeping, and the shadow of death is vpon mine eyes,
La mia faccia è sucida di piangere, E l'ombra della morte [è] in su le mie palpebre;
17 Though there be no wickednesse in mine hands, and my prayer be pure.
Quantunque non vi [sia] violenza nelle mie mani, E la mia orazione [sia] pura.
18 O earth, couer not thou my blood, and let my crying finde no place.
O terra, non nascondere il sangue sparso da me; E [se così è], il mio grido non abbia luogo.
19 For lo, now my witnesse is in the heauen, and my record is on hie.
Eziandio ora, ecco, il mio testimonio [è] ne' cieli; Il mio testimonio [è] ne' [luoghi] sovrani.
20 My friends speake eloquently against me: but mine eye powreth out teares vnto God.
O miei oratori, o amici miei, L'occhio mio si volge lagrimando a Dio.
21 Oh that a man might pleade with God, as man with his neighbour!
Oh! potesse pur l'uomo piatire con Dio, Come un uomo col suo compagno!
22 For the yeeres accounted come, and I shall go the way, whence I shall not returne.
Perciocchè i [miei] brevi anni se ne vanno forniti; Ed io me ne vo per un sentiero, onde non tornerò più.
