Job 13
1 Loe, mine eye hath seene all this: mine eare hath heard, and vnderstande it.
Katso, kaikkia näitä ovat silmäni nähneet, ja korvani kuulleet, ja on ne ymmärtänyt.
2 I knowe also as much as you knowe: I am not inferiour vnto you.
Jota te tiedätte, sitä minäkin tiedän, enkä ole halvempi teitä.
3 But I will speake to the Almightie, and I desire to dispute with God.
Minä puhun siis Kaikkivaltiaan tykö, ja mielin kamppailla Jumalan kanssa.
4 For in deede ye forge lyes, and all you are physitions of no value.
Sillä te olette valheen saarnaajat, ja kaikki kelvottomat lääkärit.
5 Oh, that you woulde holde your tongue, that it might be imputed to you for wisedome!
Jospa te voisitte juuri ääneti olla, niin te olisitte taitavat.
6 Nowe heare my disputation, and giue eare to the arguments of my lips.
Kuulkaat siis minun kamppaustani, ja ottakaat vaari asiasta, kuin minä puhun.
7 Will ye speake wickedly for Gods defence, and talke deceitfully for his cause?
Tahdotteko te Jumalan puolesta vastata vääryydellä? ja hänen puolestansa puhua petosta?
8 Will ye accept his person? or will ye contende for God?
Tahdotteko te katsoa hänen mieltänsä? Tahdotteko te riidellä Jumalan puolesta?
9 Is it well that he shoulde seeke of you? will you make a lye for him, as one lyeth for a man?
Pitääkö se teille menestymän, koska hän teitä etsii? luuletteko te hänen pettävänne, niinkuin joku pettää ihmisen?
10 He will surely reprooue you, if ye doe secretly accept any person.
Hän kovin nuhtelee teitä, jos te salaisesti mieliä katsotte.
11 Shall not his excellencie make you afraid? and his feare fall vpon you?
Eikö hänen korkeutensa teitä peljätä? ja hänen pelkonsa lankee teidän päällenne?
12 Your memories may be compared vnto ashes, and your bodyes to bodyes of clay.
Teidän muistonne vedetään tuhan verraksi, ja teidän selkänne pitää oleman niinkuin saviroukkio.
13 Holde your tongues in my presence, that I may speake, and let come vpon what will.
Olkaat ääneti minun edessäni, minä puhun, tapahtukoon minulle mitä hyvänsä.
14 Wherefore doe I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my soule in mine hande?
Miksi minun pitää pureman lihaani hampaillani, ja asettaman sieluni minun käsiini?
15 Loe, though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, and I will reprooue my wayes in his sight.
Katso, vaikka hän minun tappais, enkö minä vielä sittenkin toivoisi? kuitenkin minä nuhtelen teitäni hänen edessänsä.
16 He shalbe my saluation also: for the hypocrite shall not come before him.
Hän on kuitenkin minun autuuteni; sillä ei yksikään ulkokullattu tule hänen eteensä.
17 Heare diligently my wordes, and marke my talke.
Kuulkaat juuri visusti minun puhettani, ja minun selitystäni teidän korvainne edessä.
18 Beholde nowe: if I prepare me to iudgement, I knowe that I shalbe iustified.
Katso, jo minä olen tuomion sanonut: Minä tiedän, että minä olen hurskas.
19 Who is he, that will pleade with me? for if I nowe holde my tongue, I dye.
Kuka tahtoo käydä oikeudelle minun kanssani? Mutta minun täytyy nyt ääneti olla, ja loppua.
20 But doe not these two things vnto me: then will I not hide my selfe from thee.
Ainoastaan älä tee minulle kahta, niin en minä kätke itsiäni sinun edestäs.
21 Withdrawe thine hande from me, and let not thy feare make me afraide.
Anna kätes olla kaukana minusta, ja sinun kauhistukses älköön minua peljättäkö.
22 Then call thou, and I will answere: or let me speake, and answere thou me.
Kutsu minua, ja minä vastaan: eli minä puhun, ja vastaa sinä minua.
23 Howe many are mine iniquities and sinnes? shewe me my rebellion, and my sinne.
Kuinka usiat ovat minun vääryyteni ja pahat tekoni? anna minun saada tietää minun syntini ja rikokseni.
24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and takest me for thine enemie?
Miksi sinä peität kasvos, ja pidät minua vihollisena?
25 Wilt thou breake a leafe driuen to and from? and wilt thou pursue the drie stubble?
Tahdotkos niin kova olla lentävää lehteä vastaan, ja vainota kuivaa oljen kortta?
26 For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possesse the iniquities of my youth.
Sillä sinä kirjoitat minulle murhetta, ja annat minun periä nuoruuteni syntejä.
27 Thou puttest my feete also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly vnto all my pathes, and makest the print thereof in ye heeles of my feet.
Sinä olet pannut minun jalkani jalkapuuhun, ja otat kaikista minun poluistani vaarin, ja katsot kaikkia minun askeleitani;
28 Such one consumeth like a rotten thing, and as a garment that is motheaten.
Joka kuitenkin hukun niinkuin mädännyt raato, ja niinkuin koilta syöty vaate.
