Jeremiah 1
1 The wordes of Ieremiah the sonne of Hilkiah one of the Priests that were at Anathoth in the lande of Beniamin.
இல்க்கியாவின் மகன் எரேமியாவின் வார்த்தைகள்: இல்க்கியா பென்யமீன் பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள ஆனதோத் என்ற ஊரில் வசித்த ஆசாரியர்களில் ஒருவன்.
2 To whom the worde of the Lord came in the dayes of Iosiah the sonne of Amon King of Iudah in the thirteenth yeere of his reigne:
யூதாவின் அரசனாயிருந்த ஆமோனின் மகன் யோசியாவின் ஆட்சிக் காலத்தின் பதின்மூன்றாம் வருடத்தில், யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்தது.
3 And also in the dayes of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah vnto the ende of the eleuenth yeere of Zedekiah, the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, euen vnto the carying away of Ierusalem captiue in the fift moneth.
தொடர்ந்து யூதாவின் அரசனாயிருந்த, யோசியாவின் மகன் யோயாக்கீமின் ஆட்சிக்காலம் முழுவதிலும், யூதாவின் அரசனாயிருந்த யோசியாவின் மகன் சிதேக்கியா அரசாண்ட பதினோராம் வருடம் ஐந்தாம் மாதம் முடியும் வரையும், யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்தது. அப்பொழுதுதான் எருசலேம் மக்கள் நாடுகடத்தப்பட்டார்கள்.
4 Then the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எனக்கு வந்தது, அவர் என்னிடம்,
5 Before I formed thee in the wombe, I knewe thee, and before thou camest out of the wombe, I sanctified thee, and ordeined thee to be a Prophet vnto the nations.
“உன் தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் உன்னை உருவாக்கும் முன்பே நான் உன்னை அறிந்தேன், நீ பிறக்கும் முன்பே எனக்கு ஊழியம் செய்யும்படி நான் உன்னை பிரித்தெடுத்தேன்; நாடுகளுக்கு இறைவாக்கினனாக உன்னை நியமித்தேன்” என்றார்.
6 Then said I, Oh, Lord God, behold, I can not speake, for I am a childe.
அதற்கு நான், “ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவாவே, எப்படிப் பேசவேண்டுமென்று எனக்குத் தெரியாது; நான் சிறுபிள்ளை தானே” என்றேன்.
7 But the Lord said vnto me, Say not, I am a childe: for thou shalt goe to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoeuer I command thee, shalt thou speake.
ஆனால் யெகோவா என்னிடம் சொன்னதாவது, “நான் ஒரு சிறுபிள்ளை தானே” என்று நீ சொல்லாதே; நான் உன்னை அனுப்பும் ஒவ்வொருவரிடமும் நீ போய் நான் கட்டளையிடுவதையெல்லாம் சொல்லவேண்டும்.
8 Be not afraide of their faces: for I am with thee to deliuer thee, saith the Lord.
நீ அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாதே. ஏனெனில் நான் உன்னோடிருக்கிறேன், நான் உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றுவேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
9 Then the Lord stretched out his hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said vnto me, Beholde, I haue put my wordes in thy mouth.
அப்பொழுது யெகோவா தமது கரத்தை நீட்டி என் வாயைத் தொட்டு என்னிடம், “இப்பொழுது என் வார்த்தைகளை உன் வாயில் வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
10 Beholde, this day haue I set thee ouer the nations and ouer the kingdomes to plucke vp, and to roote out, and to destroye and throwe downe, to builde, and to plant.
இதோ பார், நாடுகளுக்கும் அரசுகளுக்கும் மேலாக அவைகளை வேரோடு பிடுங்கவும், இடித்து வீழ்த்தவும், அழிக்கவும், கவிழ்க்கவும், கட்டவும், நாட்டவும் நான் இன்று உன்னை நியமித்திருக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
11 After this the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying, Ieremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almonde tree.
யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எனக்கு வந்தது: அவர் என்னை நோக்கி, “எரேமியாவே! நீ காண்பது என்ன?” என்று கேட்டார். நான் அதற்குப் பதிலாக “ஒரு வாதுமை மரக்கிளையைக் காண்கிறேன்” என்றேன்.
12 Then saide the Lord vnto me, Thou hast seene aright: for I will hasten my worde to performe it.
அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னிடம், “நீ சரியாகக் கண்டிருக்கிறாய், ஏனெனில் நான் என் வார்த்தையை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்காக விழிப்பாயிருக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
13 Againe the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I saide, I see a seething pot looking out of the North.
யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை திரும்பவும் எனக்கு வந்தது. அவர், “நீ காண்கிறது என்ன?” என்றார். “ஒரு கொதிக்கும் பானை வடதிசையிலிருந்து சரிவதைக் காண்கிறேன்” என்று நான் பதிலளித்தேன்.
14 Then saide the Lord vnto me, Out of the North shall a plague be spred vpon all the inhabitants of the land.
அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னிடம், “நாட்டில் வாழும் யாவர்மேலும் வடக்கிலிருந்து பெரும் பயங்கரம் கொதித்தெழும்பும்.
15 For loe, I will call all the families of the kingdomes of the North, saith the Lord, and they shall come, and euery one shall set his throne in the entring of the gates of Ierusalem, and on all the walles thereof rounde about, and in all the cities of Iudah.
அதற்காக நான் வடதிசை அரசுகளின் படைகளையெல்லாம் அழைக்கப் போகிறேன்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “அவர்களின் அரசர்கள் வந்து எருசலேமின் நுழைவு வாசல்களில் தங்கள் சிங்காசனத்தை வைப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் எருசலேமைச் சுற்றியுள்ள மதில்களுக்கு எதிராகவும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களுக்கு எதிராகவும் வருவார்கள்.
16 And I will declare vnto them my iudgements touching all the wickednesse of them that haue forsaken me, and haue burnt incense vnto other gods, and worshipped the workes of their owne handes.
எனது மக்கள் வேறு தெய்வங்களுக்குத் தூபங்காட்டி, தங்கள் கைகளினால் செய்தவற்றையே வழிபட்டு, என்னைக் கைவிட்டார்கள். இந்த கொடிய செயல்களின் நிமித்தம் அவர்களுக்கு என் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பை வழங்குவேன்.
17 Thou therefore trusse vp thy loynes, and arise and speake vnto them all that I commaund thee: be not afraide of their faces, lest I destroy thee before them.
“ஆதலால் உன்னை ஆயத்தப்படுத்து. எழுந்து நின்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவதையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல். அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாதே, பயந்தால் அவர்கள் முன்னால் நான் உன்னைத் திகிலடையச் செய்வேன்.
18 For I, beholde, I this day haue made thee a defenced citie, and an yron pillar and walles of brasse against the whole lande, against the Kings of Iudah, and against the princes thereof, against the Priestes thereof and against the people of the lande.
இன்று நான் உன்னை முழு நாட்டிற்கும் விரோதமாக நிற்கும்படி பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணமாகவும், இரும்புத் தூணாகவும், வெண்கல மதிலாகவும் ஆக்கியிருக்கிறேன். யூதாவின் அரசர்களுக்கும், அதன் அதிகாரிகளுக்கும், ஆசாரியருக்கும், நாட்டு மக்களுக்கும் விரோதமாக நிற்கும்படியாகவே இப்படிச் செய்தேன்.
19 For they shall fight against thee, but they shall not preuaile against thee: for I am with thee to deliuer thee, sayth the Lord.
அவர்கள் உனக்கு எதிராகச் சண்டையிடுவார்கள். ஆயினும் அவர்கள் உன்னை மேற்கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள், ஏனெனில் நான் உன்னோடிருக்கிறேன். நான் உன்னை தப்புவிப்பேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்” என்றார்.
