Jeremiah 7
1 The woordes that came to Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
| آنگاه خداوند به ارمیا فرمود |
2 Stand in the gate of the Lordes house and crie this woorde there, and say, Heare the woorde of the Lord, all yee of Iudah that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord.
| که کنار دروازهٔ خانهٔ خداوند بایستد و این پیام را به گوش مردم برساند: ای مردم یهودا، ای تمام کسانی که در اینجا خداوند را عبادت می‌کنید، به کلام خداوند گوش فرا دهید! |
3 Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Amend your waies and your woorkes, and I will let you dwell in this place.
| خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خدای قوم اسرائیل می‌فرماید: «اگر راهها و اعمالتان را تغییر داده، اصلاح کنید، اجازه خواهم داد در سرزمین خود باقی بمانید. |
4 Trust not in lying woordes, saying, The Temple of the Lord, the Temple of the Lord: this is the Temple of the Lord.
| فریب سخنان دروغ را نخورید، فکر نکنید که چون خانهٔ من در اینجاست نخواهم گذاشت که اورشلیم ویران شود. |
5 For if you amende and redresse your waies and your woorkes: if you execute iudgement betweene a man and his neighbour,
| من فقط در صورتی اجازه خواهم داد در این سرزمینی که جاودانه به پدرانتان داده‌ام باقی بمانید که از کردار و رفتار بد دست کشیده، با یکدیگر با درستی و انصاف رفتار کنید، از یتیمان، بیوه‌زنان و غریبان بهره‌کشی نکنید، از ریختن خون بی‌گناهان دست بردارید و از پیروی خدایان دیگر که باعث زیان و لطمهٔ شماست روی گردان شوید. |
6 And oppresse not the stranger, the fatherlesse and the widow and shed no innocent blood in this place, neither walke after other gods to your destruction,
7 Then will I let you dwell in this place in the lande that I gaue vnto your fathers, for euer and euer.
8 Beholde, you trust in lying woordes, that can not profite.
| «اما شما به سخنان دروغ و بی‌پایه امید بسته‌اید؛ |
9 Will you steale, murder, and commit adulterie, and sweare falsely and burne incense vnto Baal, and walke after other gods whome yee knowe not?
| دزدی می‌کنید، مرتکب زنا و قتل می‌شوید، به دروغ قسم می‌خورید، برای بت بعل بخور می‌سوزانید و خدایان بیگانه را می‌پرستید، |
10 And come and stande before mee in this House, whereupon my Name is called, and saye, We are deliuered, though we haue done all these abominations?
| و بعد به خانه‌ای که به نام من نامیده شده آمده، در حضور من می‌ایستید و می‌گویید:”ما در امن و امانیم!“و باز برمی‌گردید و غرق کارهای زشتتان می‌شوید. |
11 Is this House become a denne of theeues, whereupon my Name is called before your eyes? Beholde, euen I see it, sayeth the Lord.
| مگر خانه‌ای که نام مرا بر خود دارد، آشیانهٔ دزدان است؟ هر آنچه در آنجا می‌کنید، می‌بینم. |
12 But go ye nowe vnto my place which was in Shilo, where I set my Name at the beginning, and beholde, what I did to it for the wickednesse of my people Israel.
| «به شیلوه بروید، به شهری که نخستین عبادتگاه من در آن قرار داشت، و ببینید به سبب گناهان قومم اسرائیل، با آن چه کردم! |
13 Therefore nowe because yee haue done all these woorkes, sayeth the Lord, (and I rose vp earely and spake vnto you: but when I spake, yee would not heare me, neither when I called, would yee answere).
| به سبب تمام گناهانی که مرتکب شده‌اید همان بلا را بر سر شما نیز خواهم آورد. با اینکه بارها در این مورد با شما سخن گفته، هشدار دادم و شما را فرا خواندم، ولی شما نه گوش کردید و نه جواب دادید. پس همان‌طور که اجازه دادم خانهٔ مرا در شیلوه خراب کنند، اجازه خواهم داد تا این خانه را نیز خراب کنند. بله، این خانه را که به نام من بوده و چشم امیدتان به آن است و این سرزمین را که به شما و به پدرانتان داده‌ام، ویران خواهم کرد؛ |
14 Therefore will I do vnto this House, wherupon my Name is called, wherein also yee trust, euen vnto the place that I gaue to you and to your fathers, as I haue done vnto Shilo.
15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I haue cast out all your brethren, euen the whole seede of Ephraim.
| همان‌طور که برادران افرایمی شما را تبعید نمودم، شما را نیز تبعید خواهم کرد. |
16 Therfore thou shalt not pray for this people, neither lift vp crie or praier for them neither intreat me, for I will not heare thee.
| «پس تو ای ارمیا، دیگر برای این قوم دعای خیر نکن و برای آنها گریه و زاری و شفاعت ننما، چون نخواهم پذیرفت. |
17 Seest thou not what they doe in the cities of Iudah and in the streetes of Ierusalem?
| مگر نمی‌بینی در تمام شهرهای یهودا و در کوچه‌های اورشلیم چه می‌کنند؟ |
18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knede the dough to make cakes to the Queene of heauen and to powre out drinke offrings vnto other gods, that they may prouoke me vnto anger.
| ببین چطور بچه‌ها هیزم جمع می‌کنند، پدرها آتش می‌افروزند، زنها خمیر درست می‌کنند تا برای بت”ملکۀ آسمان“گرده‌های نان بپزند و برای سایر خدایانشان هدایای نوشیدنی تقدیم کنند و به این ترتیب مرا به خشم آورند! |
19 Doe they prouoke me to anger, sayeth the Lord, and not themselues to the confusion of their owne faces?
| آیا این کارها، به من لطمه می‌زنند؟ بیشتر از همه به خودشان ضرر می‌رسانند و خودشان را رسوا می‌کنند. |
20 Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Beholde, mine anger and my wrath shall be powred vpon this place, vpon man and vpon beast, and vpon the tree of the fielde, and vpon the fruite of the grounde, and it shall burne and not bee quenched.
| پس من آتش خشم و غضب خود را فرو خواهم ریخت. بله، شعله‌های خشم و غضب من، این عبادتگاه را سوزانده، مردم، حیوانات، درختان و محصولات زمین را از میان خواهد برد و کسی نخواهد توانست آن را خاموش کند!» |
21 Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Put your burnt offerings vnto your sacrifices, and eat the flesh.
| خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خدای اسرائیل می‌فرماید: «گوشت قربانیهایی را که ذبح می‌کنید چه آنهایی را که مجاز به خوردنشان هستید، چه آنهایی که خوردنشان ممنوع است، همه را بخورید، |
22 For I spake not vnto your fathers, nor commanded them, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offrings and sacrifices.
| چون وقتی پدران شما را از مصر بیرون آوردم، و با ایشان سخن گفته، دستورهای خود را به ایشان دادم از ایشان هدیه و قربانی نخواستم، |
23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voyce, and I will be your God, and yee shalbe my people: and walke yee in all the wayes which I haue commanded you, that it may be well vnto you.
| بلکه آنچه به ایشان فرموده بودم این بود: از من پیروی کنید تا من خدای شما باشم و شما قوم من! فقط به هر راهی که من می‌گویم، بروید تا سعادتمند شوید. |
24 But they would not obey, nor incline their eare, but went after the counsels and the stubbernesse of their wicked heart, and went backewarde and not forwarde.
| ولی ایشان گوش فرا ندادند و توجهی ننمودند، بلکه به دنبال هوس دل خود رفتند و به جای پیشرفت و بهتر شدن، وضعشان بدتر شد. |
25 Since the day that your fathers came vp out of the lande of Egypt, vnto this day, I haue euen sent vnto you al my seruants the Prophets, rising vp earely euery day, and sending them.
| از روزی که پدران شما از مصر بیرون آمدند تا به امروز، خادمین یعنی انبیای خود را هر روز نزد شما فرستادم. |
26 Yet would they not heare me nor encline their eare, but hardened their necke and did worse then their fathers.
| ولی نه به سخنانشان گوش دادید و نه به ایشان اعتنایی کردید، بلکه سختدل و یاغی شده بدتر از پدرانتان رفتار نمودید. |
27 Therefore shalt thou speake al these words vnto them, but they will not heare thee: thou shalt also crie vnto them, but they will not answere thee.
| «بنابراین ای ارمیا، هر آنچه می‌فرمایم به ایشان بگو، ولی انتظار نداشته باش گوش بدهند! به ایشان هشدار بده، ولی منتظر پاسخی نباش. |
28 But thou shalt say vnto them, This is a nation that heareth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiueth discipline: trueth is perished, and is cleane gone out of their mouth.
| بگو که ایشان قومی هستند که نمی‌خواهند دستورهای خداوند، خدای خود را اطاعت کنند و نمی‌خواهند درس عبرت بگیرند، چون راستی از بین رفته و سخنی نیز از آن به میان نمی‌آید.» |
29 Cut off thine heare, O Ierusalem, and cast it away, and take vp a complaint on the hie places: for the Lord hath reiected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
| خداوند می‌فرماید: «ای اهالی اورشلیم، عزاداری کنید؛ موی خود را به نشانهٔ شرم تراشیده، دور بریزید؛ بر بلندیها برآیید و نوحه‌سرایی کنید، چون من از شما خشمگین هستم و شما را طرد کرده و ترک نموده‌ام. |
30 For the children of Iudah haue done euill in my sight, sayth the Lord: they haue set their abominations in the House, whereupon my Name is called, to pollute it.
| اهالی یهودا در برابر چشمان من شرارت ورزیده‌اند و بتهای خود را به خانهٔ من آورده و آنجا را نجس ساخته‌اند. |
31 And they haue built the hie place of Topheth, which is in the valley of Ben-Hinnom to burne their sonnes and their daughters in the fire, which I commanded them not, neither came it in mine heart.
| در وادی”ابن هنوم“نیز مذبحی به نام”توفت“بنا نموده‌اند و در آنجا پسران و دختران خود را برای بتها زنده‌زنده در آتش، قربانی می‌کنند کار زشت و هولناکی که نه امر فرموده بودم و نه حتی از خاطرم گذشته بود. |
32 Therefore beholde, the dayes come, sayeth the Lord, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor the valley of Ben-Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall burie in Topheth til there be no place.
| بنابراین روزی خواهد رسید که دیگر به آنجا”توفت“یا وادی”ابن هنوم“نخواهند گفت، بلکه آن را”وادی کشتارگاه“خواهند نامید، چون اجساد بی‌شماری از کشته‌شدگان را در آنجا دفن خواهند کرد، طوری که جایی باقی نماند؛ |
33 And ye carkeises of this people shalbe meat for the foules of the heauen and for the beastes of the earth, and none shall fraie them away.
| و لاشه‌های قوم من خوراک پرندگان آسمان و حیوانات بیابان خواهند شد و کسی باقی نخواهد ماند که آنها را براند. |
34 Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Iudah and from the streetes of Ierusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladnesse, the voice of the bridegrom and the voice of the bride: for the lande shalbe desolate.
| من آوای سرود و شادمانی و هلهلهٔ عروس و داماد را از شهرهای یهودا و کوچه‌های اورشلیم قطع خواهم نمود و این سرزمین را به ویرانه مبدل خواهم ساخت.» |
