Jeremiah 6
1 O ye children of Beniamin, prepare to flee out of the middes of Ierusalem, and blowe the trumpet in Tekoa: set vp a standart vpon Beth-haccerem: for a plague appeareth out of the North and great destruction.
Fugi, ó filhos de Benjamim, do meio de Jerusalém; e tocai trombeta em Tecoa, e levantai um sinal de fumaça sobre Bete-Haquerém; porque do norte já se vê o desastre e grande destruição.
2 I haue compared the daughter of Zion to a beautifull and daintie woman.
Destruirei a filha de Sião [ainda que seja] formosa e delicada.
3 The pastors with their flockes shall come vnto her: they shall pitche their tentes rounde about by her, and euery one shall feede in his place.
A ela virão pastores com seus rebanhos; levantarão contra ela tendas ao redor; [e] cada um apascentará em seu lugar.
4 Prepare warre against her: arise, and let vs goe vp toward the South: wo vnto vs: for the day declineth, and the shadowes of the euening are stretched out.
Preparai guerra contra ela; levantai-vos e subamos até o meio-dia! Ai de nós! que vai caindo já o dia, que as sombras da tarde já estão se estendendo.
5 Arise, and let vs goe vp by night, and destroy her palaces.
Levantai-vos, e subamos de noite, e destruamos seus palácios.
6 For thus hath the Lord of hostes said, Hewe downe wood, and cast a mounte against Ierusalem: this citie must be visited: all oppression is in the middes of it.
Porque assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Cortai árvores, e levantai cercos junto a Jerusalém; esta é a cidade que tem de ser punida; opressão há no meio dela.
7 As the fountaine casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her malice: crueltie and spoyle is continually heard in her before me with sorowe and strokes.
Tal como a fonte jorra suas águas, assim também ela constantemente jorra sua malícia; violência e destruição se ouve nela; continuamente há enfermidade e feridas perante mim.
8 Be thou instructed, O Ierusalem, lest my soule depart from thee, lest I make thee desolate as a land, that none inhabiteth.
Corrige-te, Jerusalém, para que minha alma não se afaste de ti, para que eu não te torne desolada, uma terra não habitada.
9 Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, They shall gather as a vine, the residue of Israel: turne backe thine hande as the grape gatherer into the baskets.
Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Sacudirão por completo o restante de Israel tal como a vide; volta tua mão aos cestos como alguém que colhe uvas.
10 Vnto whome shall I speake, and admonish that they may heare? beholde, their eares are vncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: beholde, the worde of the Lord is vnto them as a reproche: they haue no delite in it.
A quem falarei e testemunharei, para que ouçam? Eis que que seus ouvidos são incircuncisos, e não podem escutar; eis que a palavra do SENHOR lhes é coisa vergonhosa, não gostam dela.
11 Therefore I am full of the wrath of the Lord: I am weary with holding it: I will powre it out vpon the children in the streete, and likewise vpon the assembly of the yong men: for the husband shall euen be taken with the wife, and the aged with him that is full of daies.
Por isso estou cheio dá fúria do SENHOR, [e] cansado estou de retê [-la]; eu a derramarei sobre os meninos pelas ruas, e sobre a reunião dos jovens juntamente; porque até o marido com a mulher serão presos, [e] o velho com o cheio de dias.
12 And their houses with their landes, and wiues also shalbe turned vnto strangers: for I will stretch out mine hande vpon the inhabitants of the land, sayeth the Lord.
E suas casas passarão a ser de outros, suas propriedades e juntamente suas mulheres; porque estenderei minha mão contra os moradores da terra, diz o SENHOR.
13 For from the least of them, euen vnto the greatest of them, euery one is giuen vnto couetousnesse, and from the Prophet euen vnto the Priest, they all deale falsely.
Porque desde o menor deles até o maior deles, cada um deseja com ganância; e desde o profeta até o sacerdote, todos agem com falsidade.
14 They haue healed also ye hurt of the daughter of my people with sweete woordes, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.
E curam a ferida da filha de meu povo apenas superficialmente, dizendo, Paz, paz; sem que haja paz.
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not ashamed, no neither coulde they haue any shame: therefore they shall fall among the slaine: when I shall visite them, they shall be cast downe, sayth the Lord.
Eles se envergonham de fazerem abominação? Não, não se envergonham de maneira nenhuma, nem sequer sabem ter vergonha. Por isso cairão entre os que caem; tropeçarão quando eu os visitar, diz o SENHOR.
16 Thus sayeth the Lord, Stande in the waies and beholde, and aske for the olde way, which is the good way and walke therein, and yee shall finde rest for your soules: but they saide, We will not walke therein.
Assim diz o SENHOR: Ficai parados nos caminhos, e vede, e perguntai pelas veredas antigas, qual é o bom caminho, e andai por ele; então achareis descanso para vossa alma. Mas disseram: Não andaremos.
17 Also I set watchmen ouer you, which said, Take heede to the sound of the trumpet: but they said, We will not take heede.
Também pus vigilantes sobre vós, que dissessem: Prestai atenção à voz da trombeta. Mas eles disseram: Não prestaremos atenção.
18 Heare therefore, yee Gentiles, and thou Congregation knowe, what is among them.
Portanto ouvi, ó nações, e saiba disto, o multidão que nelas está;
19 Heare, O earth, beholde, I will cause a plague to come vpon this people, euen the fruite of their owne imaginations: because they haue not taken heede vnto my woordes, nor to my Lawe, but cast it off.
Ouve tu, ó terra: Eis que eu trarei mal sobre este povo: o fruto de seus pensamentos; pois não dão atenção a minhas palavras, e rejeitam a minha lei.
20 To what purpose bringest thou mee incense from Sheba, and sweete calamus from a farre countrey? Your burnt offerings are not pleasant, nor your sacrifices sweete vnto me.
Afinal, para que vem a mim o incenso de Sabá, e a boa cana aromática de uma terra distante? Vossos holocaustosnão [me] são aceitáveis, nem vossos sacrifícios me são agradáveis.
21 Therefore thus sayeth the Lord, Beholde, I will laie stumbling blockes before this people, and the fathers and the sonnes together shall fall vpon them: the neighbour and his friende shall perish.
Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que porei tropeços a este povo, e cairão neles juntamente os pais e os filhos; o vizinho e seu companheiro perecerão.
22 Thus sayeth the Lord, Beholde, a people commeth from the North countrey, and a great nation shall arise from the sides of the earth.
Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que vem um povo da terra do norte; e uma grande nação se levantará dos confins da terra.
23 With bowe and shield shall they be weaponed: they are cruell and will haue no compassion: their voyce roareth like the sea, and they ride vpon horses, well appointed, like men of warre against thee, O daughter Zion.
Eles trarão arco e lança; são cruéis, que não terão misericórdia; a voz deles rugirá como o mar, e sobre cavalo cavalgarão, como homens dispostos para a guerra contra ti, ó filha de Sião.
24 We haue heard their fame, and our handes waxe feeble sorrowe is come vpon vs, as the sorrowe of a woman in trauaile.
Nós ouvimos a fama deles, e nossas mãos perderam a força; fomos tomados pela angústia, [e] dor como de mulher no parto.
25 Goe not foorth into the fielde, nor walke by the way: for the sword of the enemie and feare is on euery side.
Não saiais ao campo, nem andeis pelo caminho; porque a espada do inimigo [e] o terror está ao redor.
26 O daughter of my people, girde thee with sackecloth, and wallowe thy selfe in the ashes: make lamentation, and bitter mourning as for thine onely sonne: for the destroier shall suddenly come vpon vs.
Tu, filha de meu povo, veste-te de saco, e revolve-te em cinza; chora de luto [como] por um filho único, pranto de amarguras; porque logo virá sobre nós o destruidor.
27 I haue set thee for a defence and fortresse among my people, that thou maiest knowe and trie their waies.
Eu te pus por avaliador e por fortaleza entre meu povo, para que reconheças, e examines o caminho deles.
28 They are all rebellious traitours, walking craftily: they are brasse, and yron, they all are destroyers.
Todos eles são os mais teimosos rebeldes, que vivem enganando; são [duros como] cobre e ferro: todos eles são corruptos.
29 The bellowes are burnt: the lead is consumed in the fire: the founder melteth in vaine: for the wicked are not taken away.
O fole já se queimou, o chumbo já se consumiu pelo fogo; em vão é feita a fundição, pois os maus não são arrancados.
30 They shall call them reprobate siluer, because the Lord hath reiected them.
Eles são chamados prata rejeitada, porque o SENHOR os rejeitou.
