Jeremiah 6
1 O ye children of Beniamin, prepare to flee out of the middes of Ierusalem, and blowe the trumpet in Tekoa: set vp a standart vpon Beth-haccerem: for a plague appeareth out of the North and great destruction.
Ihr Söhne Benjamins! Flieht aus Jerusalem! Stoßt in das Lärmholz zu Tekoa! Und schwingt die Flagge auf Betkerem! Denn Unheil lugt von Norden her, ein schwerer Schlag.
2 I haue compared the daughter of Zion to a beautifull and daintie woman.
Mit einer wohlgepflegten Au vergleiche ich die Sionstochter.
3 The pastors with their flockes shall come vnto her: they shall pitche their tentes rounde about by her, and euery one shall feede in his place.
Mitsamt den Herden kommen Hirten über sie; sie schlagen ihre Zelte ringsum auf; sie weiden, jeder seine Schar.
4 Prepare warre against her: arise, and let vs goe vp toward the South: wo vnto vs: for the day declineth, and the shadowes of the euening are stretched out.
Zum Kampfe gegen sie! "Vorwärts! Wir stürmen noch zur Mittagszeit. Weh uns! Schon neigt sich dieser Tag. Die abendlichen Schatten strecken sich.
5 Arise, and let vs goe vp by night, and destroy her palaces.
Vorwärts! Wir stürmen dann bei Nacht und brechen ihre Burgen!"
6 For thus hath the Lord of hostes said, Hewe downe wood, and cast a mounte against Ierusalem: this citie must be visited: all oppression is in the middes of it.
Denn also spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: "Haut Bäume um und schüttet einen Wall auf gen Jerusalem! Das ist die Stadt, in der erpreßtes Gut wird allenthalben aufbewahrt.
7 As the fountaine casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her malice: crueltie and spoyle is continually heard in her before me with sorowe and strokes.
Wie seine Wasser frisch der Brunnen hält, genauso hält sich ihre Bosheit frisch. 'Gewalt und Raub!' hört man in ihr; vor meinem Antlitz sind stets Qual und Schlag.
8 Be thou instructed, O Ierusalem, lest my soule depart from thee, lest I make thee desolate as a land, that none inhabiteth.
Ach, bessere dich, Jerusalem! Sonst reißt sich meine Seele von dir los; ich mache dich zur Wüste, zum unbewohnten Land."
9 Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, They shall gather as a vine, the residue of Israel: turne backe thine hande as the grape gatherer into the baskets.
So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: "Man halte gründlich Nachlese wie an dem Weinstock, so am Reste Israels! Streck deine Hand aus wie ein Winzer nach den Reben!
10 Vnto whome shall I speake, and admonish that they may heare? beholde, their eares are vncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: beholde, the worde of the Lord is vnto them as a reproche: they haue no delite in it.
Zu wem soll ich noch reden und wen beschwörend mahnen, daß sie hören? Fürwahr, ihr Ohr ist unbeschnitten; sie können nichts vernehmen. Das Wort des Herrn wird ihnen zum Gespött; sie haben kein Gefallen dran.
11 Therefore I am full of the wrath of the Lord: I am weary with holding it: I will powre it out vpon the children in the streete, and likewise vpon the assembly of the yong men: for the husband shall euen be taken with the wife, and the aged with him that is full of daies.
Nun bin ich voll vom Grimm des Herrn, des Anmichhaltens müde; ich gieß ihn auf den Straßen über Kinder aus und auf den frohen Kreis der Jugend. Sie werden kriegsgefangen, Mann und Weib, der Greis samt dem im besten Alter.
12 And their houses with their landes, and wiues also shalbe turned vnto strangers: for I will stretch out mine hande vpon the inhabitants of the land, sayeth the Lord.
An andre kommen ihre Häuser, Felder, Weiber insgesamt, wenn gegen die Bewohner dieses Landes ich meine Hand ausstrecke." Ein Spruch des Herrn.
13 For from the least of them, euen vnto the greatest of them, euery one is giuen vnto couetousnesse, and from the Prophet euen vnto the Priest, they all deale falsely.
"Denn Groß und Klein bei ihnen, alle wollen Geld. Und die Propheten und die Priester schaffen Trug.
14 They haue healed also ye hurt of the daughter of my people with sweete woordes, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.
Sie möchten meines Volkes Schaden schnellstens heilen. Nur Heil auf Heil verheißen sie, und doch ist nirgends Heil.
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not ashamed, no neither coulde they haue any shame: therefore they shall fall among the slaine: when I shall visite them, they shall be cast downe, sayth the Lord.
Scham über sie, daß sie so Greuliches verübt! Für sie jedoch gibt's kein Erröten mehr; das Schämen haben sie verlernt. Drum werden sie bei den Erschlagnen liegen. Wenn ich sie strafe, kommen sie zu Fall." So spricht der Herr.
16 Thus sayeth the Lord, Stande in the waies and beholde, and aske for the olde way, which is the good way and walke therein, and yee shall finde rest for your soules: but they saide, We will not walke therein.
So spricht der Herr: "Verweilet bei den Wegen, seht doch nach! Fragt früheren Pfaden nach: 'Wo ist der Weg zum Guten?' Und geht ihr den, dann findet ihr für eure Seele Ruhe. Sie aber sagen: 'Nein! Den gehn wir nicht.'
17 Also I set watchmen ouer you, which said, Take heede to the sound of the trumpet: but they said, We will not take heede.
Ich stelle für euch Wächter auf. 'Auf der Trompete Schall gebt acht!' Doch sie erwidern: 'Nein! Wir geben nimmer acht.'
18 Heare therefore, yee Gentiles, and thou Congregation knowe, what is among them.
So hört, ihr Heidenvölker! Vernehmt es, Nationen, was aus ihnen wird!
19 Heare, O earth, beholde, I will cause a plague to come vpon this people, euen the fruite of their owne imaginations: because they haue not taken heede vnto my woordes, nor to my Lawe, but cast it off.
Horch auf, du Land! Ich bringe Unheil über dieses Volk, die Früchte ihres Planens. Auf meine Worte mögen sie nicht hören, und mein Gesetz verwerfen sie.
20 To what purpose bringest thou mee incense from Sheba, and sweete calamus from a farre countrey? Your burnt offerings are not pleasant, nor your sacrifices sweete vnto me.
Wozu mir da der Weihrauchduft aus Saba und Würzrohr aus dem fernen Land? Nicht wohlgefällig sind mir eure Brandopfer; und eure Schlachtopfer sind mir nicht angenehm."
21 Therefore thus sayeth the Lord, Beholde, I will laie stumbling blockes before this people, and the fathers and the sonnes together shall fall vpon them: the neighbour and his friende shall perish.
Darum spricht so der Herr: "Ich gebe diesem Volk zum Sturz den Anstoß. Die Väter und die Söhne stoßen sich daran, ein Nachbar nach dem andern geht zugrunde."
22 Thus sayeth the Lord, Beholde, a people commeth from the North countrey, and a great nation shall arise from the sides of the earth.
So spricht der Herr: "Schon kommt ein Volk vom Nordland her; ein großes Heidenvolk erhebt sich von der Erde Enden.
23 With bowe and shield shall they be weaponed: they are cruell and will haue no compassion: their voyce roareth like the sea, and they ride vpon horses, well appointed, like men of warre against thee, O daughter Zion.
Den Bogen und den Wurfspieß führen sie, und hart sind sie, erbarmungslos; ihr Lärmen gleicht den Meer, dem tosenden, wenn sie auf Rossen jagen. Gerüstet Mann für Mann zum Kampf, so geht es wider dich, du Tochter Sions."
24 We haue heard their fame, and our handes waxe feeble sorrowe is come vpon vs, as the sorrowe of a woman in trauaile.
"Wir hören, wie sie kommen; erschlafft sind unsere Hände. Uns packen Angst und Zittern wie bei einer Kreißenden." -
25 Goe not foorth into the fielde, nor walke by the way: for the sword of the enemie and feare is on euery side.
Geh nicht ins Freie! Nicht auf die Straße! Des Feindes Schwert ist da. Entsetzen ringsumher!
26 O daughter of my people, girde thee with sackecloth, and wallowe thy selfe in the ashes: make lamentation, and bitter mourning as for thine onely sonne: for the destroier shall suddenly come vpon vs.
Du, meines Volkes Tochter! Umgürte dich mit einem Bußgewand! In Asche wälze dich! Und traure wie um einen Liebling, und klage bitterlich. "Im Nu kommt der Verwüster über uns!"
27 I haue set thee for a defence and fortresse among my people, that thou maiest knowe and trie their waies.
"Zum unerschrocknen Scheidemeister bestelle ich dich für mein Volk, auf daß du seinen Wandel untersuchend prüfest."
28 They are all rebellious traitours, walking craftily: they are brasse, and yron, they all are destroyers.
Sie alle sind Empörer und verleumdungssüchtig, sind Kupfer bloß und Eisen, grundverdorben allesamt.
29 The bellowes are burnt: the lead is consumed in the fire: the founder melteth in vaine: for the wicked are not taken away.
Der Blasbalg ist versengt vom Feuer; das Blei ist unversehrt. Vergeblich schmolz man es; die Schlacken gehn nicht ab.
30 They shall call them reprobate siluer, because the Lord hath reiected them.
"Verworfnes Silber" nennt man sie; der Herr hat sie verworfen.
