Jeremiah 52
1 Zedekiah was one and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeeres in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Hamutal, the daughter of Ieremiah of Libnah.
Sédécias était âgé de vingt et un ans lorsqu’il commença à régner; et il régna onze ans dans Jérusalem; le nom de sa mère était Amital, fille de Jérémie de Lobna.
2 And he did euil in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that Iehoiakim had done.
Il fit le mal sous les yeux du Seigneur, selon tout ce qu’avait fait Joakim.
3 Doubtlesse because the wrath of the Lord was against Ierusalem and Iudah, till he had cast them out from his presence, therefore Zedekiah rebelled against the King of Babel.
Parce que la fureur du Seigneur était sur Jérusalem et sur Juda, jusqu’à ce qu’il les eût rejetés de devant sa face; et Sédécias se révolta contre le roi de Babylone.
4 But in the ninth yeere of his reigne, in the tenth moneth the tenth day of the moneth came Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, he and all his hoste against Ierusalem, and pitched against it, and buylt fortes against it round about.
Or il arriva, la neuvième année de son règne, le dixième. jour du dixième mois, que Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, vint, lui et toute son armée, contre Jérusalem; et ils l’assiégèrent, et ils bâtirent des fortifications autour.
5 So the citie was besieged vnto the eleuenth yeere of the King Zedekiah.
Et la ville fut assiégée jusqu’à la onzième année du règne de Sédécias.
6 Now in the fourth moneth, the ninth day of the moneth, the famine was sore in ye citie, so that there was no more bread for ye people of the land.
Mais au quatrième mois, au neuvième jour, la famine gagna la cité; et il n’y avait plus de vivres pour le peuple de la terre.
7 Then the citie was broken vp and all the men of warre fled, and went out of the citie by night, by the way of the gate betweene the two walles, which was by the kings garden: (now the Caldeans were by the citie round about) and they went by the way of the wildernes.
Une brèche fut faite à la cité, et tous ses hommes de guerre s’enfuirent, et sortirent de la cité pendant la nuit par la voie de la porte qui est entre les deux murs, et conduit au jardin du roi, les Chaldéens assiégeant la ville tout autour, et ils s’en allèrent par la voie qui conduit au désert.
8 But the army of the Caldeans pursued after the king, and tooke Zedekiah in the desert of Iericho, and all his host was scattered from him.
Mais l’armée des Chaldéens poursuivit le roi, et ils prirent Sédécias dans le désert qui est près de Jéricho; et tous ceux qui l’accompagnaient s’enfuirent çà et là d’auprès de lui.
9 Then they tooke the king and caryed him vp vnto the king of Babel to Riblah in the lande of Hamath, where he gaue iudgement vpon him.
Et lorsqu’ils eurent pris le roi, ils l’amenèrent au roi de Babylone à Réblatha, qui est dans la terre d’Emath; et Nabuchodonosor lui prononça son arrêt.
10 And the king of Babel slewe the sonnes of Zedekiah, before his eyes he slew also al ye princes of Iudah in Riblah.
Et le roi de Babylone égorgea les deux fils de Sédécias sous ses yeux, et il fit tuer en même temps tous les princes de Juda à Réblatha.
11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and the king of Babel bound him in chaines, and caried him to Babel, and put him in pryson till the day of his death.
Et il arracha les yeux à Sédécias, et le chargea de fers aux pieds, et le roi de Babylone le conduisit à Babylone, et l’enferma dans la maison de la prison jusqu’au jour de sa mort.
12 Now in the fift moneth in the tenth day of the moneth (which was the nineteenth yere of ye King Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel) came Nebuzar-adan chiefe steward which stoode before the king of Babel in Ierusalem,
Mais au cinquième mois, au dixième jour du mois qui est la dix-neuvième année même dit règne de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, vint Nabuzardan, chef de la milice, lequel était de service auprès du roi de Babylone, dans Jérusalem.
13 And burnt the House of the Lord, and the Kings house, and all the houses of Ierusalem, and all the great houses burnt he with fire.
Et il brûla la maison du Seigneur, et la maison du roi; et à toutes les maisons de Jérusalem, et à toute grande maison, il mit le feu.
14 And al the armie of the Caldeans that were with the chiefe steward, brake downe all ye walles of Ierusalem round about.
Et tout le mur autour de Jérusalem, l’armée entière des Chaldéens, qui était avec le chef de la milice, l’abattit.
15 Then Nebuzar-adan the chiefe steward caried away captiue certaine of the poore of the people, and the residue of the people that remayned in the citie, and those that were fled, and fallen to the king of Babel, with the rest of the multitude.
Quant à ce qui était demeuré dans la cité d’entre les pauvres du peuple, et d’entre le reste du commun, et d’entre les transfuges qui avaient passé au roi de Babylone, et quant à tout le reste de la multitude, Nabuzardan, prince de la milice, les transféra à Babylone.
16 But Nebuzar-adan the chiefe steward left certaine of the poore of the lande, to dresse the vines, and to till the land.
Mais d’entre les pauvres de la terre, Nabuzardan, chef de la milice, laissa des vignerons et des laboureurs.
17 Also the pillars of brasse that were in the House of the Lord, and the bases, and the brasen Sea, that was in the house of ye Lord, the Caldeans brake, and caried all the brasse of them to Babel.
Mais les colonnes d’airain qui étaient dans la maison du Seigneur, et les soubassements, et la mer d’airain, qui était dans la maison du Seigneur, les Chaldéens les brisèrent, et ils en emportèrent tout l’airain à Babylone,
18 The pots also and the besomes, and the instruments of musicke, and the basins, and the incense dishes, and all the vessels of brasse wherewith they ministred, tooke they away.
Et les chaudières, et les grandes fourchettes, et les psaltérions, et les tasses, et les petits mortiers, et tous les vases d’airain qui servaient au ministère, ils les emportèrent; et
19 And the bowles, and the ashpannes, and the basins, and the pots, and the candlestickes, and the incense dishes, and the cuppes, and all that was of golde, and that was of siluer, tooke the chiefe steward away,
Les urnes, et les encensoirs, et les cruches, et les bassins, et les chandeliers, et les mortiers, et les coupes, et tout ce qui était d’argent pur, et tout ce qui était d’or pur, le chef de la milice les emporta;
20 With the two pillars, one Sea, and twelue brasen bulles, that were vnder the bases, which King Salomon had made in ye house of ye Lord: the brasse of all these vessels was without weight.
Ainsi que les deux colonnes, et la mer unique, et les douze bœufs d’airain qui étaient sous les bases, que le roi Salomon avait faites dans la maison du Seigneur; il n’y avait pas de poids pour l’airain de tous ces vases.
21 And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteene cubites, and a threede of twelue cubites did compasse it, and the thicknesse thereof was foure fingers: it was holowe.
Or l’une des colonnes avait dix-huit coudées de hauteur, un cordon de douze coudées l’environnait; son épaisseur était de quatre doigts, et en dedans elle était creuse.
22 And a chapiter of brasse was vpon it, and the height of one chapiter was fiue cubites with networke, and pomegranates vpon the chapiters round about, all of brasse: the seconde pillar also, and the pomegranates were like vnto these.
Et sur l’une et l’autre de ces colonnes était un chapiteau d’airain; la hauteur du chapiteau de l’une était de cinq coudées; et des réseaux de grenades étaient sur le couronnement tout autour; le tout était d’airain. Il en était de même pour la seconde colonne qui avait aussi des grenades.
23 And there were ninetie and sixe pomegranates on a side: and all the pomegranates vpon the net worke were an hundreth round about.
Et quatre-vingt-seize grenades pendaient, et toutes les grenades, au nombre de cent, étaient environnées de réseaux.
24 And the chiefe steward tooke Sheraiah the chiefe Priest, and Zephaniah the seconde Priest, and the three keepers of the doore.
Et le maître de la milice prit Saraïas, le premier prêtre, et Sophonias, le second prêtre, et les trois gardiens du vestibule du temple.
25 Hee tooke also out of the citie an Eunuch, which had the ouersight of the men of warre, and seuen men that were in the Kings presence, which were founde in the citie, and Sopher captayne of the hoste who mustered the people of the lande, and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the middes of the citie.
Et de la cité, il prit un eunuque qui était préposé sur les hommes de guerre, et sept hommes d’entre ceux qui voyaient la face du roi, qui se trouvèrent dans la cité; et le scribe, prince des
26 Nebuzar-adan the chiefe stewarde tooke them, and brought them to the king of Babel to Riblah.
Or Nabuzardan, chef de la milice, les prit, et les amena au roi de Babylone à Réblatha.
27 And the king of Babel smote them, and slewe them in Riblah, in the lande of Hamath: thus Iudah was caried away captiue out of his owne land.
Et le roi de Babylone les frappa et les tua à Réblatha, dans la terre d’Emath; et Juda fut transféré hors de sa terre.
28 This is the people, whome Nebuchad-nezzar caried away captiue, in the seuenth yeere, euen three thousande Iewes, and three and twentie.
Voici le peuple que transféra Nabuchodonosor; la septième année de son règne, il transféra trois mille vingt-trois Juifs;
29 In the eightenth yere of Nebuchad-nezzar he caried away captiue from Ierusalem eight hundreth thirtie and two persons.
La dix-huitième année de son règne, il transféra de Jérusalem huit cent trente-deux âmes.
30 In the three and twentieth yeere of Nebuchad-nezzar, Nebuzar-adan the chiefe stewarde caried away captiue of the Iewes seuen hundreth fourtie and fiue persons: all the persons were foure thousand and sixe hundreth.
Et la vingt-troisième année du règne de Nabuchodonosor, Nabuzardan, maître de la milice, transféra sept cent quarante-cinq âmes de Juifs; ainsi toutes les âmes transférées furent au nombre de quatre mille six cents.
31 And in the seuen and thirtieth yeere of the captiuitie of Iehoiachin King of Iudah, in the twelfth moneth, in the fiue and twentieth day of the moneth, Euil-merodach King of Babel, in the first yeere of his reigne, lifted vp the head of Iehoiachin King of Iudah, and brought him out of pryson,
Et il arriva à la trente-septième année de la transmigration de Joachin, roi de Juda, au douzième mois, au vingt-cinquième jour du mois, qu’Evilmérodach, roi de Babylone, la première année même de son règne, releva la tête de Joachin, roi de Juda, et le fit sortir de la maison de la prison.
32 And spake kindly vnto him, and set his throne aboue the throne of the Kings, that were with him in Babel,
Et il lui parla avec bonté, et il mit son trône au-dessus des trônes des rois qui étaient au-dessous de lui à Babylone.
33 And changed his pryson garmentes, and he did continually eate bread before him all the dayes of his life.
Et il changea ses vêtements de sa prison, et Joachin mangeait du pain devant lui tous les jours de sa vie.
34 His porcion was a continuall portion giuen him of ye king of Babel, euery day a certaine, all the dayes of his life vntill he died.
Et sa nourriture, nourriture perpétuelle, lui était donnée par le roi de Babylone, déterminée jour par jour, jusqu’au jour de sa mort, tous les jours de sa vie.
