Jeremiah 50
1 The word that the Lord spake, concerning Babel, and cocerning the land of the Caldeans by the ministerie of Ieremiah the Prophet.
Dies ist das Wort, welches der HERR über Babel, über das Land der Chaldäer, durch den Propheten Jeremia gesprochen hat:
2 Declare among the nations, and publish it, and set vp a standart, proclaime it and conceale it not: say, Babel is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken downe: her idols are confounded, and their images are burst in pieces.
Verkündiget es unter den Heiden und lasset es hören, pflanzet ein Panier auf; lasset es hören und verhehlet es nicht, saget: Babel ist eingenommen, Bel ist zuschanden geworden, Merodach ist erschrocken, ihre Götzenbilder sind zuschanden geworden und ihre Götzen erschrocken!
3 For out of the North there commeth vp a nation against her, which shall make her lande waste, and none shall dwel therein: they shall flee, and depart, both man and beast.
Denn von Norden zieht ein Volk wider sie heran, das wird ihr Land zur Wüste machen, daß niemand mehr darin wohnen wird, weder Menschen noch Vieh, weil sie sich eilends davongemacht haben.
4 In those daies, and at that time, sayeth the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they, and the children of Iudah together, going, and weeping shall they goe, and seeke the Lord their God.
In jenen Tagen und zu jener Zeit, spricht der HERR, werden die Kinder Israels kommen und die Kinder Juda mit ihnen; sie werden weinend hingehen, den HERRN, ihren Gott, zu suchen.
5 They shall aske the way to Zion, with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let vs cleaue to the Lord in a perpetuall couenant that shall not be forgotten.
Sie werden nach Zion fragen, ihr Angesicht dahin richten: «Kommt, laßt uns dem HERRN anhangen mit einem ewigen Bunde, der nicht vergessen werden soll!»
6 My people hath beene as lost sheepe: their shepheards haue caused them to goe astray, and haue turned them away to the mountaines: they haue gone from mountaine to hil, and forgotten their resting place.
Mein Volk war wie verlorene Schafe; ihre Hirten haben sie irregeführt, daß sie die Berge verließen; von den Bergen sind sie zu den Hügeln gezogen und haben ihre Ruheplätze vergessen.
7 Al that found them, haue deuoured them, and their enemies saide, We offende not, because they haue sinned against the Lord, the habitation of iustice, euen the Lord the hope of their fathers.
Wer sie fand, fraß sie auf, und ihre Feinde sprachen: «Wir verschulden uns nicht; sondern sie haben sich an dem HERRN versündigt, an der Aue der Gerechtigkeit, an der Hoffnung ihrer Väter, am HERRN!»
8 Flee from the middes of Babel, and depart out of the lande of the Caldeans, and be ye as the hee goates before the flocke.
Fliehet aus Babels Mitte und ziehet hinweg aus dem Lande der Chaldäer und seid wie Böcke vor der Herde her!
9 For loe, I will raise, and cause to come vp against Babel a multitude of mightie natios from the North countrey, and they shall set themselues in aray against her, whereby shee shall be taken: their arrowes shall be as of a strong man, which is expert, for none shall returne in vaine.
Denn siehe, ich erwecke im nördlichen Lande ein Heer großer Völker und lasse sie gen Babel hinaufziehen, um sie zu belagern, und von dort aus wird sie erobert werden. Ihre Pfeile sind wie die eines gewandten Schützen, der nicht leer zurückkehrt.
10 And Caldea shalbe a spoyle: all that spoyle her, shalbe satisfied, sayth the Lord.
Also soll Chaldäa zur Beute werden, daß alle, die es plündern, genug bekommen sollen, spricht der HERR.
11 Because yee were glad and reioyced in destroying mine heritage, and because ye are growen fatte, as the calues in the grasse, and neied like strong horses,
Denn du freutest dich und frohlocktest, als du mein Erbe plündertest; du hüpftest wie eine dreschende Kuh und wiehertest wie die Hengste.
12 Therefore your mother shall bee sore confounded, and she that bare you, shall be ashamed: beholde, the vttermost of the nations shalbe a desert, a drie land, and a wildernes.
Eure Mutter wird sehr zuschanden werden, die euch geboren hat, wird schamrot dastehen. Siehe, sie wird das letzte der Völker, eine dürre Wüste, eine öde Steppe!
13 Because of the wrath of the Lord it shall not be inhabited, but shall be wholy desolate: euery one that goeth by Babel, shall be astonished, and hisse at all her plagues.
Wegen des Zornes des HERRN wird sie unbewohnt bleiben und gänzlich verwüstet werden; wer an Babel vorübergeht, wird staunen und zischen ob all ihren Plagen.
14 Put your selues in aray against Babel rounde about: all ye that bende the bowe, shoote at her, spare no arrowes: for shee hath sinned against the Lord.
Stellet euch ringsum wider Babel auf, ihr Bogenschützen alle! Schießt nach ihr, sparet die Pfeile nicht! Denn sie hat wider den HERRN gesündigt.
15 Crie against her round about: she hath giuen her hand: her foundations are fallen, and her walles are destroyed: for it is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance vpon her: as she hath done, doe vnto her.
Erhebet ringsum Kriegsgeschrei wider sie! Sie muß sich ergeben; ihre Grundfesten fallen, ihre Mauern werden geschleift. Denn das ist die Rache des HERRN. Rächet euch an ihr! Tut ihr, wie sie getan!
16 Destroy the sower from Babel, and him that handleth the sieth in the time of haruest: because of the sworde of the oppressor they shall turne euery one to his people, and they shall flee euery one to his owne land.
Rottet aus Babel den Sämann aus samt dem, der zur Zeit der Ernte die Sichel führt! Vor dem grausamen Schwert wird sich jedermann seinem Volke zuwenden und ein jeder in sein Heimatland fliehen.
17 Israel is like scattered sheepe: the lions haue dispersed them: first the King of Asshur hath deuoured him, and last this Nebuchad-nezzar King, of Babel hath broken his bones.
Israel ist ein verjagtes Schaf, Löwen haben es verscheucht. Zuerst hat es der König von Assur gefressen, und nun zuletzt hat Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, seine Knochen abgenagt.
18 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Behold, I wil visit ye King of Babel, and his land, as I haue visited the King of Asshur.
Darum spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, also: Siehe, ich will den König von Babel heimsuchen, wie ich den König von Assur heimgesucht habe.
19 And I will bring Israel againe to his habitation: hee shall feede on Carmel and Bashan, and his soule shall be satisfied vpon the mount Ephraim and Gilead.
Und ich will Israel wieder auf seine Weide führen, damit es auf dem Karmel und in Basan weide und auf dem Gebirge Ephraim und in Gilead seinen Hunger stille.
20 In those daies, and at that time, sayeth the Lord, the iniquitie of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none: and the sinnes of Iudah, and they shall not be founde: for I will be mercifull vnto them, whome I reserue.
In jenen Tagen und zu jener Zeit wird man die Missetat Israels suchen, spricht der HERR, aber sie wird nicht mehr vorhanden sein, und die Sünde Judas, aber man wird sie nicht finden; denn ich werde denen vergeben, die ich übriglasse.
21 Goe vp against the lande of the rebelles, euen against it, and against the inhabitantes of Pekod: destroy, and lay it waste after them, saieth the Lord, and doe according to all that I haue commanded thee.
Ziehe hinauf wider das «Land des zwiefachen Trotzes» und wider die Bewohner der «Heimsuchung»! Ziehe das Schwert hinter ihnen her und vollstrecke den Bann, spricht der HERR, und tue ihnen ganz, wie ich dir befohlen habe!
22 A crie of battell is in the land, and of great destruction.
Kriegslärm ist im Lande und ein gewaltiger Zusammenbruch!
23 Howe is the hammer of the whole world destroied, and broken! howe is Babel become desolate among the nations!
Wie ist doch der Hammer der ganzen Erde abgehauen und zerbrochen worden! Wie ist doch Babel unter den Völkern zum Entsetzen geworden!
24 I haue snared thee, and thou art taken, O Babel, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striuen against the Lord.
Ich habe dir Schlingen gelegt, Babel, und du bist auch gefangen worden, ohne daß du es merktest; du bist ertappt und ergriffen worden; denn du hast dich wider den HERRN aufgelehnt.
25 The Lord hath opened his treasure, and hath brought foorth the weapons of his wrath: for this is the woorke of the Lord God of hostes in the lande of the Caldeans.
Der HERR hat seine Rüstkammer aufgetan und seine Zorneswaffen hervorgeholt; denn im Lande der Chaldäer hat der Herr, der HERR der Heerscharen, etwas zu tun.
26 Come against her from the vtmost border: open her store houses: treade on her as on sheaues, and destroy her vtterly: let nothing of her be left.
Kommet von allen Enden über sie! Öffnet ihre Kornhäuser, ladet sie auf wie Garben und vollstrecket den Bann an ihr, daß nichts übrigbleibe!
27 Destroy all her bullockes: let them goe downe to the slaughter. Wo vnto them, for their day is come, and the time of their visitation.
Stecht alle ihre Farren nieder und führt sie zur Schlachtbank hinab! Wehe ihnen; denn ihr Tag ist gekommen, die Zeit ihrer Heimsuchung!
28 The voyce of them that flee, and escape out of the lande of Babel to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, and the vengeance of his Temple.
Man hört ein Geschrei von denen, die aus dem Lande Babel entronnen und geflohen sind, um zu Zion die Rache des HERRN, unsres Gottes, zu verkünden, die Rache für seinen Tempel.
29 Call vp the archers against Babel: al ye that bend the bow, besiege it rounde about: let none thereof escape: recompence her according to her worke, and according to all that she hath done, doe vnto her: for she hath bene proud against the Lord, euen against the holy one of Israel.
Bietet Schützen auf wider Babel, alle, die den Bogen spannen! Lagert euch rings um sie her, daß niemand entrinne! Vergeltet ihr nach ihrem Verdienst, tut ihr gerade so, wie sie getan hat; denn sie war übermütig gegen den HERRN, den Heiligen Israels!
30 Therefore shall her yong men fall in the streetes, and al her men of warre shalbe destroied in that day, sayeth the Lord.
Darum sollen ihre jungen Männer auf ihren Straßen fallen und alle ihre Kriegsleute an jenem Tage vertilgt werden, spricht der HERR.
31 Beholde, I come vnto thee, O proude man, saith the Lord God of hostes: for thy day is come, euen the time that I will visite thee.
Siehe, an dich, du «Frechheit», ergeht der Ausspruch des Herrn, des HERRN der Heerscharen: Dein Tag ist gekommen, die Zeit deiner Heimsuchung;
32 And the proude shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him vp: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall deuoure all round about him.
und die «Frechheit» wird straucheln und fallen, und niemand wird sie aufrichten; und ich will in ihren Städten ein Feuer anzünden, das ihre ganze Umgebung verzehren soll.
33 Thus saieth the Lord of hosts, The children of Israel, and the children of Iudah were oppressed together: and all that tooke them captiues, held them, and would not let them goe.
So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Die Kinder Israel und die Kinder Juda leiden miteinander Gewalt, und alle, die sie gefangen genommen haben, halten sie fest und wollen sie nicht loslassen.
34 But their strong redeemer, whose Name is the Lord of hostes, he shall maintaine their cause, that he may giue rest to the lande, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babel.
Aber ihr Erlöser ist stark, er heißt HERR der Heerscharen; der wird ihre Rechtssache führen, daß er dem Lande Ruhe schaffe, den Bewohnern von Babel aber Unruhe.
35 A sworde is vpon the Caldeans, sayeth the Lord, and vpon the inhabitants of Babel, and vpon her princes, and vpon her wise men.
Das Schwert über die Chaldäer und über die Bewohner von Babel, spricht der HERR, über ihre Fürsten und über ihre Weisen!
36 A sworde is vpon the soothsaiers, and they shall dote: a sword is vpon her strong men, and they shalbe afraide.
Das Schwert über die Schwätzer, daß sie zu Narren werden; das Schwert über ihre Helden, daß sie verzagen!
37 A sworde is vpon their horses and vpon their charets, and vpon all the multitude that are in the middes of her, and they shall be like women: a sworde is vpon her treasures, and they shall be spoyled.
Das Schwert über ihre Rosse und über ihre Wagen und über das Völkergemisch in ihrer Mitte, daß sie zu Weibern werden! Das Schwert über ihre Schätze, daß sie geplündert werden!
38 A drought is vpon her waters, and they shall be dried vp: for it is the lande of grauen images, and they dote vpon their idoles.
Dürre über ihre Wasser, daß sie vertrocknen! Denn es ist ein Land der Götzenbilder, und sie rühmen sich wie toll ihrer Schreckgestalten.
39 Therefore the Ziims with the Iims shall dwel there, and the ostriches shall dwel therein: for it shall be no more inhabited, neither shall it be inhabited from generation vnto generation.
Deswegen sollen Wildkatzen mit Schakalen darin wohnen und Strauße daselbst hausen; aber es soll nimmermehr besiedelt werden, sondern für und für unbewohnt bleiben;
40 As God destroied Sodom and Gomorah with the places thereof neere about, sayeth the Lord: so shall no man dwell theere, neither shall the sonne of man remaine therein.
wie Gott Sodom und Gomorra samt ihrer Nachbarschaft umgekehrt hat, so soll auch daselbst niemand wohnen und kein Menschenkind sich dort aufhalten! spricht der HERR.
41 Beholde, a people shall come from the North, and a great nation, and many Kings shall be raised vp from the coastes of the earth.
Siehe, es kommt ein Volk von Mitternacht her, und ein großes Volk und mächtige Könige erheben sich von den Enden der Erde;
42 They shall holde the bowe and the buckeler: they are cruell and vnmercifull: their voyce shall roare like the sea, and they shall ride vpon horses, and be put in aray like men to the battell against thee, O daughter of Babel.
sie tragen Bogen und Spieße, sind grausam und unbarmherzig; sie machen einen Lärm, als tobte das Meer; sie reiten, wie Kriegsleute gerüstet, auf Rossen wider dich, du Tochter Babel, heran.
43 The King of Babel hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: sorow came vpon him, euen sorowe as of a woman in trauaile.
Wenn der König von Babel Kunde von ihnen erhält, so läßt er seine Hände sinken; es ergreift ihn Angst, Wehen wie eine Gebärende.
44 Beholde, hee shall come vp like a lyon from the swelling of Iorden vnto the strong habitation: for I will make Israel to rest, and I will make them to haste away from her: and who is a chosen man that I may appoynt against her? for who is like me, and who will appoynt me the time? and who is the shepheard that will stande before me?
Siehe, wie ein Löwe von dem stolzen Jordan zu der immergrünen Weide heraufkommt, so plötzlich will ich sie von ihr wegtreiben; und wer ist der Erwählte, den ich darüber setzen werde? Denn wer ist mir gleich, und wer will mich zur Rechenschaft ziehen? Oder welcher Hirt mag vor mir bestehen?
45 Therefore heare the counsell of the Lord that hee hath deuised against Babel, and his purpose that hee hath conceiued against the lande of the Caldeans: surely the least of the flocke shall drawe them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.
Darum höret den Ratschluß des HERRN, welchen er über Babel beschlossen, und seine Absichten, die er über das Land der Chaldäer hat: So gewiß die kleine Herde mißhandelt worden ist, so gewiß soll um ihretwillen die Aue verwüstet werden!
46 At the noyse of the winning of Babel the earth is moued, and the crye is heard among the nations.
Von dem Geschrei: «Babel ist eingenommen!» erbebt das Erdreich, und der Lärm wird unter den Völkern gehört.
