Jeremiah 49
1 Unto the children of Ammon thus saith the Lord, Hath Israel no sonnes? or hath he none heire? Why then hath their king possessed God? and his people dwelt in his cities?
Sứ điệp tiên tri về người Am-môn. Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Chẳng lẽ Ít-ra-ên không có con cháu thừa kế tại Gát sao? Tại sao ngươi, kẻ thờ thần Minh-côm, lại sống trong các thành này?”
2 Therefore beholde the dayes come, sayeth the Lord, that I will cause a noyse of warre to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites, and it shall be a desolate heape, and her daughters shall be burnt with fire: then shall Israel possesse those that possessed him, sayeth the Lord.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Vì thế, sẽ có ngày, Ta khiến chiến tranh vang dội khắp thủ đô Ráp-ba của ngươi. Thành đó sẽ trở nên một đống tro tàn, và các thành phụ cận sẽ bị thiêu hủy. Lúc ấy, Ít-ra-ên sẽ trở lại đất mà ngươi đã chiếm,” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán.
3 Howle, O Heshbon, for Ai is wasted: crie ye daughters of Rabbah: girde you with sackecloth: mourne and runne to and from by the hedges: for their King shall goe into captiuitie; and his Priestes, and his princes likewise.
“Hãy khóc than, hỡi Hết-bôn, vì thành A-hi bị hủy phá. Hãy thở than, hỡi cư dân Ráp-ba! Hãy mặc lên người áo tang. Hãy kêu la và than thở, và chạy qua lại trong thành, vì thần Minh-côm, các thầy tế lễ và các quan chức sẽ bị dẫn đến vùng đất xa xôi
4 Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleis? thy valley floweth away, O rebellious daughter: she trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come vnto me?
Ngươi tự hào về các thung lũng màu mỡ, nhưng chúng sẽ sớm bị điêu tàn. Ngươi tin vào của cải mình, hỡi con gái bất trung, và nghĩ rằng không ai dám hại ngươi.
5 Beholde, I will bring a feare vpon thee, sayth the Lord God of hostes, of all those that be about thee, and ye shalbe scattered euery man right foorth, and none shall gather him that fleeth.
Nhưng này! Ta sẽ đổ sự kinh hoàng trên ngươi,” Chúa là Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán. “Vì các dân tộc lân bang sẽ đuổi các ngươi ra khỏi quê hương, và không ai cứu giúp dân lưu đày các ngươi trong ngày chạy trốn.
6 And afterward I will bring againe the captiuitie of the children of Ammon.
Nhưng Ta sẽ phục hồi sự thịnh vượng cho Am-môn trong ngày cuối cùng. Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu, phán vậy.”
7 To Edom thus sayeth the Lord of hostes: Is wisdome no more in Teman? is counsel perished from their children? is their wisdome vanished?
Sứ điệp này tiên tri về Ê-đôm. Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán: “Trong Thê-man không còn người khôn ngoan sao? Người mưu trí mất hết mưu lược rồi sao?
8 Flee, ye inhabitants of Dedan (they are turned backe, and haue consulted to dwell) for I haue brought the destruction of Esau vpon him, and the time of his visitation.
Hãy quay lưng và trốn chạy! Hãy ẩn dưới hang sâu, hỡi người Đê-đan! Vì Ta sẽ giáng tai ương xuống cho Ê-đôm, Ta cũng sẽ đoán phạt ngươi!
9 If the grape gatherers come to thee, would they not leaue some grapes? if theeues come by night, they will destroy till they haue ynough.
Những người hái nho luôn chừa vài trái cho người nghèo khó. Nếu kẻ trộm đến lúc ban đêm, chúng chẳng lấy mọi thứ.
10 For I haue discouered Esau: I haue vncouered his secrets, and he shall not be able to hide himselfe: his seede is wasted, and his brethren and his neighbours, and there shall be none to say,
Nhưng Ta sẽ lột trần xứ Ê-đôm, và sẽ không còn chỗ nào để ẩn náu nữa. Các con cái nó, anh em nó, và láng giềng nó đều sẽ bị tiêu diệt, và chính Ê-đôm cũng sẽ không còn nữa.
11 Leaue thy fathers children, and I will preserue them aliue, and let thy widowes trust in me.
Nhưng Ta sẽ bảo vệ các cô nhi còn lại trong vòng các ngươi. Hỡi các quả phụ, cũng vậy, hãy trông cậy vào sự trợ giúp Ta.”
12 For thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, they whose iudgement was not to drinke of the cuppe, haue assuredly drunken, and art thou he that shall escape free? thou shalt not goe free, but thou shalt surely drinke of it.
Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Nếu những người vô tội đã phải chịu đau khổ, thì các ngươi phải chịu bao nhiêu! Các ngươi sẽ thoát khỏi hình phạt chăng! Các ngươi buộc phải uống chén đoán phạt này!”
13 For I haue sworne by my selfe, sayeth the Lord, that Bozrah shall be waste, and for a reproche, and a desolation, and a curse, and all the cities thereof shall be perpetuall desolations.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Vì Ta đã nhân danh Ta thề rằng Bốt-ra sẽ trở thành nơi ghê tởm và gò đống đổ nát; nó sẽ bị chế giễu và nguyền rủa. Các thành và làng mạc của nó sẽ điêu tàn vĩnh viễn.”
14 I haue heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassadour is sent vnto the heathen, saying, Gather you together, and come against her, and rise vp to the battell.
Tôi nghe sứ điệp này từ Chúa Hằng Hữu rằng một sứ giả được đưa đến các nước, nói: “Hãy liên kết chống lại Ê-đôm, và chuẩn bị cho cuộc chiến!”
15 For loe, I will make thee but small among the heathen, and despised among men.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán với Ê-đôm: “Ta sẽ làm cho nó hèn yếu giữa các nước. Ngươi sẽ bị các nước khinh dể.
16 Thy feare, and ye pride of thine heart hath deceiued thee, thou that dwellest in the cleftes of the rocke, and keepest the height of ye hil: though thou shouldest make thy nest as hie as the eagle, I wil bring thee downe from thece, sayth the Lord.
Các ngươi đã tự lừa dối bởi sự kinh hoàng các ngươi gieo rắc và bởi lòng tự hào của các ngươi. Hỡi những người sống trong các khe đá và chiếm lĩnh các núi cao. Dù các ngươi lót tổ trên núi cao như đại bàng, Ta cũng kéo ngươi xuống,” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán.
17 Also Edom shall be desolate: euery one that goeth by it, shall be astonished, and shall hisse at all the plagues thereof,
“Ê-đôm sẽ trở nên vật ghê tởm. Mọi người đi qua đều kinh ngạc và sẽ sửng sốt vì cảnh điêu tàn họ nhìn thấy.
18 As in the ouerthrowe of Sodom, and of Gomorah, and the places thereof neere about, saieth the Lord: no man shall dwell there, neither shall the sonnes of men remaine in it.
Các thành của các ngươi sẽ hoang vắng như Sô-đôm và Gô-mô-rơ, và các vùng phụ cận,” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán. “Không một ai sống tại đó; không một ai cư ngụ trong đó.
19 Beholde, hee shall come vp like a lyon from the swelling of Iorden vnto the strong dwelling place: for I will make Israel to rest, euen I will make him to haste away from her, and who is a chosen man that I may appoynt against her? for who is like mee? and who will appoint me the time? and who is the shepheard that will stande before me?
Ta sẽ đến như sư tử từ rừng rậm Giô-đan, tiến vào đồng cỏ phì nhiêu. Ta sẽ đuổi Ê-đôm ra khỏi xứ nó, Ta sẽ lập người lãnh đạo Ta chọn. Vì ai giống như Ta, và ai có thể thách thức Ta? Người cai trị nào có thể chống lại ý muốn Ta?”
20 Therefore heare the counsell of the Lord that hee hath deuised against Edom, and his purpose that hee hath conceiued against the inhabitants of Teman: surely the least of the flocke shall drawe them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
Hãy nghe kế hoạch của Chúa Hằng Hữu chống lại Ê-đôm và cư dân Thê-man. Dù trẻ nhỏ cũng sẽ bị kéo khỏi như những chiên non, và nơi họ ở thành chốn hoang tàn.
21 The earth is mooued at the noyse of their fall: the crie of their voice is heard in the red Sea.
Mặt đất rúng động khi nghe Ê-đôm sụp đổ, tiếng kêu la khủng khiếp vang dội đến tận Biển Đỏ.
22 Behold, he shall come vp, and flie as the Egle, and spreade his wings ouer Bozrah, and at that day shall the heart of the strong men of Edome be as the heart of a woman in trauaile.
Kìa! Kẻ thù sẽ đến nhanh như đại bàng, giăng cánh đến tận Bốt-ra. Dù chiến sĩ mạnh mẽ nhất cũng sẽ đau đớn như đàn bà trong cơn chuyển dạ.
23 Vnto Damascus he sayeth, Hamath is confounded and Arpad, for they haue heard euill tidings, and they are faint hearted as one on the fearefull sea that can not rest.
Sứ điệp này tiên tri về Đa-mách. Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Các thành Ha-mát và Ạt-bát đều khiếp sợ khi nghe tin họ sẽ bị tiêu diệt. Lòng dân rối loạn đảo điên như mặt biển giữa cơn giông tố.
24 Damascus is discouraged, and turneth her selfe to flight and feare hath seased her: anguish and sorowes haue taken her as a woman in trauaile.
Đa-mách trở nên yếu ớt, cư dân đều bỏ chạy. Khiếp đảm, khổ não, và sầu thảm siết chặt nó như đàn bà đang quặn thắt.
25 How is the glorious citie not reserued, the citie of my ioy?
Thành danh tiếng đó, thành vui mừng đó, sẽ rơi vào quên lãng!
26 Therefore her yong men shall fall in her streetes, and all her men of warre shall be cut off in that day, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
Các thanh niên ngươi ngã chết đầy đường phố. Quân đội ngươi bị tiêu diệt trong một ngày,” Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán vậy.
27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, which shall cosume the palaces of Benhadad.
“Ta sẽ nhóm một ngọn lửa trong tường lũy Đa-mách để đốt tan các cung điện của Bên Ha-đát.”
28 Vnto Kedar, and to the kingdomes of Hazor, which Nebuchad-nezzar, king of Babel shall smite, thus sayeth the Lord, Arise, and goe vp vnto Kedar, and destroy the men of the East.
Đây là sứ điệp tiên tri về Kê-đa và vương quốc Hát-so, sẽ bị Vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, nước Ba-by-lôn, tấn công. Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Hãy đứng dậy, tấn công Kê-đa! Hãy tiêu diệt các dân tộc phương Đông!
29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: yea, they shall take to themselues their curtaines and all their vessels, and their camels, and they shall crie vnto them, Feare is on euery side.
Các trại và bầy gia súc của chúng sẽ bị chiếm đoạt, cùng với các vật dụng trong nhà và đoàn lạc đà cũng bị cướp đi. Khắp nơi vang lên tiếng kêu khủng khiếp: ‘Chúng ta bị khủng bố mọi nơi!’”
30 Flee, get you farre off (they haue consulted to dwell) O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the Lord: for Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel hath taken counsell against you, and hath deuised a purpose against you.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Hỡi cư dân Hát-so, hãy chạy trốn thật xa, ẩn náu dưới hang sâu, vì Vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, nước Ba-by-lôn, đã bàn mưu và định chiến lược tiêu diệt các ngươi.”
31 Arise, and get you vp vnto the welthy nation that dwelleth without care, saith the Lord, which haue neither gates nor barres, but dwel alone.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Hãy tấn công nước giàu có đang sống an nhàn tự tin, không cần cửa đóng, then gài, ở riêng một mình một cõi.
32 And their camels shall be a bootie, and the multitude of their cattel a spoile, and I will scatter them into all windes, and to the vtmost corners, and I will bring their destruction from al the sides thereof, sayeth the Lord.
Các lạc đà và bầy gia súc của chúng sẽ là của ngươi. Ta sẽ phân tán dân này theo gió, là dân cạo tóc hai bên màng tang. Ta sẽ giáng tai họa trên chúng từ mọi phía,” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán vậy.
33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and desolation for euer: there shall no man dwell there, nor the sonnes of men remaine in it.
“Hát-so sẽ trở thành hang chó rừng, và nó sẽ hoang tàn vĩnh viễn. Không còn ai sống tại đó; không còn ai bén mảng đến đó nữa.”
34 The woordes of the Lord that came to Ieremiah the Prophet, concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reigne of Zedekiah King of Iudah, saying,
Sứ điệp của Chúa Hằng Hữu ban cho Tiên tri Giê-rê-mi về Ê-lam khi Vua Sê-đê-kia, nước Giu-đa, mới lên ngôi trị vì.
35 Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will breake the bowe of Elam, euen the chiefe of their strength.
Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán: “Ta sẽ bẻ gãy cung của Ê-lam— là sức mạnh chủ yếu của nó.
36 And vpon Elam I will bring the foure windes from the foure quarters of heauen, and will scatter them towardes all these windes, and there shall bee no nation, whither the fugitiues of Elam shall not come.
Ta sẽ mang quân thù từ mọi nơi đến, Ta sẽ phân tán người Ê-lam theo bốn hướng gió. Chúng sẽ bị lưu đày đến các nước trên đất.
37 For I will cause Elam to be afraied before their enemies, and before them that seeke their liues, and will bring vpon them a plague, euen the indignation of my wrath, saieth the Lord, and I wil sende the sworde after them till I haue consumed them.
Chính Ta sẽ đến cùng quân thù của Ê-lam để phân tán nó. Trong cơn thịnh nộ phừng phừng, Ta sẽ mang tai họa lớn giáng trên dân tộc Ê-lam,” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán vậy. “Quân thù sẽ cầm gươm đuổi theo chúng cho đến khi Ta tiêu diệt chúng hoàn toàn.”
38 And I wil set my throne in Elam, and I wil destroy both the King and the princes from thence, saith the Lord:
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Ta sẽ đặt ngôi Ta trên Ê-lam và Ta sẽ tiêu diệt vua quan của chúng.
39 but in the latter daies I wil bring againe the captiuitie of Elam, sayeth the Lord.
Nhưng Ta sẽ phục hồi sự thịnh vượng của Ê-lam trong những ngày cuối cùng. Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu, đã phán vậy!”
