Jeremiah 46

1 The wordes of the Lord, which came to Ieremiah the Prophet against the Gentiles,

நாடுகளைக் குறித்து இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்த யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை இதுவே:

2 As against Egypt, against ye armie of Pharaoh Necho King of Egypt, which was by the riuer Perath in Carchemish, which Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel smote in the fourth yere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah.

எகிப்தைப் பற்றியது: எகிப்திய அரசன் பார்வோன் நேகோவின் படைக்கு விரோதமான செய்தி இதுவே: அந்தப் படையை பாபிலோன் அரசன் நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் யூப்ரட்டீஸ் நதியண்டையில் கர்கேமிசில் தோற்கடித்திருந்தான். இது யூதா அரசனான யோசியாவின் மகன் யோயாக்கீமின் நான்காம் வருடத்தில் நிகழ்ந்தது.

3 Make readie buckler and shielde, and goe forth to battell.

“பெரிதும் சிறிதுமான உங்கள் கேடயங்களை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணி, யுத்தத்திற்கு அணிவகுத்துச் செல்லுங்கள்!

4 Make readie the horses, and let the horsemen get vp, and stande vp with your sallets, fourbish the speares, and put on the brigandines.

குதிரைகளுக்குச் சேணம் கட்டி அவைகளின்மேல் ஏறுங்கள். தலைக்கவசங்களை அணிந்துகொண்டு, உங்களுடைய இடங்களில் நிலைகொள்ளுங்கள். உங்கள் ஈட்டிகளை பளபளப்பாக்கி யுத்த கவசங்களை அணிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.

5 Wherefore haue I seene them afraid, and driuen backe? for their mighty men are smitten, and are fled away, and looke not backe: for feare was rounde about, sayeth the Lord.

ஆனால் நான் காண்பது என்ன? அவர்கள் திகிலடைகிறார்களே! அவர்கள் பின்வாங்குகிறார்களே! அவர்களுடைய இராணுவவீரர்கள் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்களே! அவர்கள் திரும்பிப் பாராமல் விரைந்து தப்பி ஓடுகிறார்களே! எல்லாப் பக்கங்களிலும் பயங்கரம் இருக்கிறது” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

6 The swift shall not flee away, nor the strong man escape: they shall stumble, and fall towarde the North by the riuer Perath.

“வேகமாக ஓடுகிறவர்களால் தப்பியோட முடியவில்லை; வலிமை மிக்கவர்களால் தப்பமுடியவில்லை. வடக்கே யூப்ரட்டீஸ் நதிக்கு அருகில் இடறி விழுகிறார்கள்.

7 Who is this, that commeth vp, as a flood, whose waters are mooued like the riuers?

“நைல் நதியைப்போலவும், நீர் பெருக்கெடுக்கும் ஆறுகளைப்போலவும் எழும்புவது யார்?

8 Egypt riseth vp like the flood, and his waters are mooued like the riuers, and he sayth, I wil goe vp, and will couer the earth: I wil destroy the citie with them that dwell therein.

நைல் நதியைப்போலவும், நீர் பெருக்கெடுக்கும் ஆறுகளைப்போலவும் எகிப்து எழும்புகிறது. அவள், ‘நான் எழும்பி பூமியை மூடுவேன்; பட்டணங்களையும், அவைகளின் மக்களையும் அழிப்பேன்’ என்கிறாள்.

9 Come vp, ye horses, and rage ye charets, and let the valiant men come foorth, the blacke Mores, and the Lybians that beare the shield, and the Lydians that handle and bend the bowe.

குதிரைகளே! ஓடுங்கள், தேரோட்டிகளே, ஆவேசத்துடன் ஓட்டுங்கள்! கேடயம் பிடிக்கும் எத்தியோப்பியரே, பூத்தியரே, வில்லை நாணேற்றும் லூதீமியரே, வல்லமைமிக்க வீரர்களே, அணிவகுத்துச் செல்லுங்கள்.

10 For this is the day of ye Lord God of hostes, and a day of vengeance, that he may auenge him of his enemies: for the sworde shall deuoure, and it shall be saciate, and made drunke with their blood: for the Lord God of hosts hath a sacrifice in the North countrey by the Riuer Perath.

அந்த நாளோ, ஆண்டவராகிய, சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவுக்கு உரியது. அது பழிவாங்கும் நாள். அவர் தமது பகைவரை பழிவாங்கும் நாள். அந்நாளில் வாள், தான் திருப்தியடையும் வரைக்கும், தன் தாகத்தை இரத்தத்தினால் தீர்த்துக்கொள்ளும். ஏனெனில் ஆண்டவராகிய, சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவுக்கு வடநாட்டில் யூப்ரட்டீஸ் நதியருகே ஒரு பலியும் உண்டு.

11 Goe vp vnto Gilead, and take balme, O virgine, the daughter of Egypt: in vaine shalt thou vse many medicines: for thou shalt haue no health.

“எகிப்தின் கன்னி மகளே! நீ கீலேயாத்திற்குப்போய் தைலம் வாங்கு. நீயோ வீணாகவே மருந்துகளை அதிகரிக்கிறாய். நீ குணமடையவே மாட்டாய்.

12 The nations haue heard of thy shame, and thy crie hath filled the lande: for the strong hath stumbled against the strong and they are fallen both together.

எல்லா மக்களும் உன் வெட்கத்தைக் குறித்துக் கேள்விப்படுவார்கள். உன் அழுகையின் குரல் பூமியை நிரப்பும். ஒரு இராணுவவீரன் இன்னொரு இராணுவவீரன்மேல் இடறி, இருவரும் சேர்ந்து ஒன்றாய் விழுவார்கள்” என்றான்.

13 The woorde that the Lord spake to Ieremiah the Prophet, howe Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel shoulde come and smite the lande of Egypt.

பாபிலோன் அரசனான நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் எகிப்தைத் தாக்க வருவதைக் குறித்து, இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியாவுக்கு யெகோவா கூறிய செய்தி இதுவே:

14 Publish in Egypt and declare in Migdol, and proclaime in Noph, and in Tahpanhes, and say, Stand still, and prepare thee: for the sworde shall deuoure rounde about thee.

“எகிப்தில் இதை அறிவியுங்கள், மிக்தோலில் பிரசித்தப்படுத்துங்கள்; மெம்பிசிலும், தக்பானேஸிலும் அதைப் பிரசித்தப்படுத்துங்கள். ‘வாள் உங்களைச் சுற்றியுள்ளவர்களை இரையாக்குகிறது. அதனால் நீங்கள் நிலைகொண்டு ஆயத்தமாகுங்கள்.’

15 Why are thy valiant men put backe? they could not stand, because the Lord did driue them.

உங்களுடைய போர்வீரர் ஏன் கீழே விழவேண்டும்? அவர்கள் நிற்க மாட்டார்கள், ஏனெனில் யெகோவா அவர்களைக் கீழே தள்ளிவிடுவார்.

16 Hee made many to fall, and one fell vpon another: and they saide, Arise, let vs goe againe to our owne people, and to the land of our natiuitie from the sworde of the violent.

அவர்கள் திரும்பத்திரும்ப இடறுவார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒருவர்மேல் ஒருவர் விழுவார்கள். அவர்கள், ‘எழுந்திருங்கள்; ஒடுக்குகிறவனுடைய வாளுக்குத் தப்பி நம்முடைய சொந்த மக்களிடத்திற்கும், சொந்த நாடுகளுக்கும் திரும்பிப்போவோம்’ என்பார்கள்.

17 They did cry there, Pharaoh King of Egypt, and of a great multitude hath passed the time appointed.

‘எகிப்திய அரசன் பார்வோன் ஒரு பெரிய சத்தம் மட்டுமே. அவன் தனக்குக் கிடைத்த வாய்ப்பை தவறவிட்டான்’ என்றும் அவர்கள் அங்கே சொல்வார்கள்.”

18 As I liue, saith the King, whose Name is the Lord of hostes, surely as Tabor is in the mountaines, and as Carmel is in the sea: so shall it come.

சேனைகளின் யெகோவா என்னும் பெயருள்ள அரசர் அறிவிக்கிறதாவது: “நான் வாழ்வது நிச்சயம்போல, மலைகளுக்கு மத்தியில் உள்ள தாபோரைப்போலவும், கடலருகே உள்ள கர்மேலைப்போலவும் ஒருவன் வருவான் என்பதும் நிச்சயம்.

19 O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, make thee geare to goe into captiuitie: for Noph shall be waste and desolate, without an inhabitant.

எகிப்தில் குடியிருக்கும் நீங்கள் நாடு கடத்தப்படுவற்கு உங்கள் பயண மூட்டைகளை அடுக்கி ஆயத்தப்படுத்துங்கள். ஏனெனில், மெம்பிஸ் அழிக்கப்பட்டு, குடியிருப்பார் இல்லாமல், பாழடைந்து போகும்.

20 Egypt is like a faire calfe, but destruction commeth: out of the North it commeth.

“எகிப்து ஒரு அழகிய இளம்பசு, ஆனால் வடக்கிலிருந்து அவளுக்கு விரோதமாக உண்ணி ஒன்று வருகிறது.

21 Also her hired men are in the middes of her like fat calues: they are also turned backe and fled away together: they could not stand, because the day of their destruction was come vpon them, and the time of their visitation.

அவளுடைய இராணுவத்திலுள்ள கூலிப்படைகள், கொழுத்த கன்றுகளைப் போலிருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களும் தங்களுடைய இடத்தில் நிற்க முடியாமல் ஒருமித்துத் திரும்பி தப்பி ஓடுவார்கள். ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் தண்டிக்கப்படும் வேளையான பேராபத்தின் நாள் அவர்கள்மீது வருகிறது.

22 The voyce thereof shall goe foorth like a serpent: for they shall march with an armie, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.

பகைவன் பலத்துடன் முன்னேறி வரும்போது, எகிப்து தப்பியோடுகிற பாம்பைப்போல் சீறுவாள். அவர்கள் மரம் வெட்டுகிறவர்களைப்போல் கோடரிகளுடன் அவளுக்கெதிராக வருவார்கள்.

23 They shall cut downe her forest, saith the Lord: for they cannot be counted, because they are moe then ye grashoppers, and are innumerable.

எகிப்தின் காடு அடர்த்தியாய் இருந்தபோதும், அதை வெட்டி வீழ்த்துவார்கள்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “அவர்கள் வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைவிட அதிகமானவர்கள். அவர்களை எண்ண முடியாது.

24 The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded: she shall be deliuered into the handes of the people of the North.

எகிப்தின் மகள் அவமானப்படுத்தப்பட்டு வடநாட்டு மக்களின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவாள்.”

25 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Behold, I will visite the common people of No and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods and their Kings, euen Pharaoh, and al them that trust in him,

இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா கூறுவதாவது: “நான் தேபேசின் ஆமோன் தெய்வத்தையும், பார்வோனையும், எகிப்தையும், அதன் தெய்வங்களையும், அதன் அரசர்களையும், பார்வோனை நம்பியிருக்கிறவர்களையும் தண்டிக்கப் போகிறேன்.

26 And I will deliuer them into the handes of those, that seeke their liues, and into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and into the handes of his seruants, and afterwarde she shall dwell as in the olde time, saith the Lord.

அவர்களைக் கொல்லத் தேடுகிறவர்களான, பாபிலோன் அரசன் நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் கையிலும் அவனுடைய அதிகாரிகளின் கையிலும் நான் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன். இருந்தாலும், பிற்காலத்தில் எகிப்து நாடு முந்திய நாட்களில் இருந்ததுபோல குடியேற்றப்படும்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

27 But feare not thou, O my seruant Iaakob, and be not thou afraid, O Israel: for behold, I will deliuer thee from a farre countrey, and thy seede from the land of their captiuitie, and Iaakob shall returne and be in rest, and prosperitie, and none shall make him afraid.

“என் தாசனாகிய யாக்கோபே! நீ பயப்படாதே! இஸ்ரயேலே! நீ சோர்ந்து போகாதே! நான் நிச்சயமாக உன்னைத் தூரதேசத்திலிருந்தும், உன் வழித்தோன்றல்களை அவர்கள் நாடுகடத்தப்பட்ட நாட்டிலிருந்தும் காப்பாற்றுவேன். யாக்கோபுக்குத் திரும்பவும் சமாதானமும், பாதுகாப்பும் உண்டாகும். அவனை ஒருவனும் பயமுறுத்தமாட்டான்.

28 Feare thou not, O Iaakob my seruant, saith the Lord: for I am with thee, and I will vtterly destroy all the nations, whither I haue driuen thee: but I will not vtterly destroy thee, but correct thee by iudgement, and not vtterly cut thee off.

என் அடியானாகிய யாக்கோபே பயப்படாதே. நான் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறேன்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “நான், உன்னைச் சிதறடித்த நாடுகளை முற்றிலும் அழித்தாலும் உன்னையோ முற்றிலும் அழிக்கமாட்டேன். ஆனால் நான் உன்னை தண்டிக்காமல் விடமாட்டேன். உன்னை நான் நீதியுடன் மட்டுமே தண்டிப்பேன்.”
