Jeremiah 45

1 The worde that Ieremiah the Prophet spake vnto Baruch the sonne of Neriah, when he had written these woordes in a booke at the mouth of Ieremiah, in the fourth yeere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, saying,

Las palabras que el profeta Jeremías dijo a Baruc, hijo de Nerías, cuando escribió estas palabras en un libro de la boca de Jeremías, en el cuarto año de Joacim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá; él dijo,

2 Thus sayeth the Lord God of Israel vnto thee, O Baruch,

Esto es lo que el Señor, el Dios de Israel, ha dicho de ti, Baruc:

3 Thou diddest say, Wo is me nowe: for the Lord hath laied sorrow vnto my sorrowe: I fainted in my mourning, and I can finde no rest.

Tú dijiste: ¡El dolor es mío! porque el Señor me ha dado pena además de mi dolor; Estoy cansado con el sonido de mi tristeza, y no puedo descansar.

4 Thus shalt thou say vnto him, The Lord sayeth thus, Behold, that which I haue built, will I destroy, and that which I haue planted, will I plucke vp, euen this whole lande.

Esto es lo que debes decirle: El Señor ha dicho: “En verdad, el edificio que levanté se derrumbará, y el que fue plantado por mí será arrancado, es decir, toda está tierra;

5 And seekest thou great things for thy self? seeke them not: for beholde, I wil bring a plague vpon al flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life wil I giue thee for a pray in all places, whither thou goest.

Y en cuanto a ti, ¿estás buscando grandes cosas para ti mismo? No tengas ningún deseo por ellas, porque verdaderamente enviaré el mal a toda carne, dice el Señor, pero tu vida la mantendré a salvo de los ataques dondequiera que vayas.
