< Jeremiah 40 >

1 The worde which came to Ieremiah from the Lord after that Nebuzar-adan the chiefe stewarde had let him goe from Ramath, when hee had taken him being bound in chaines among all that were caried away captiue of Ierusalem and Iudah, which were caried away captiue vnto Babel.
Daytoy ti sao nga immay kenni Jeremias manipud kenni Yahweh kalpasan a pinalubosan isuna ni Nebuzaradan, a kapitan dagiti agbanbantay iti ari a mapan idiay Rama. Dayta ti lugar a nakaiyapanan ni Jeremias, ken ti lugar a nangrimpunganda kenkuana babaen kadigiti kawar. Kaduana dagiti amin a natiliw idiay Jerusalem ken Juda a maipan kas balud idiay Babilonia.
2 And the chiefe stewarde tooke Ieremiah, and said vnto him, The Lord thy God hath pronounced this plague vpon this place.
Innala ti pangulo dagiti agbanbantay ni Jeremias ket kinunana kenkuana, “Inkeddeng ni Yahweh a Diosmo daytoy a didigra a maibusor iti daytoy a lugar.
3 Nowe the Lord hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye haue sinned against the Lord, and haue not obeyed his voyce, therefore this thing is come vpon you.
Isu nga inyeg ni Yahweh daytoy. Inaramidna no ania iti inkeddengna, agsipud ta nagbasolkayo a tattao kenkuana ken saankayo a nagtulnog iti timekna. Dayta ti makagapu a napasamak daytoy a banag kadakayo a tattao.
4 And nowe beholde, I loose thee this day from the chaines which were on thine handes, if it please thee to come with me into Babel, come, and I will looke well vnto thee: but if it please thee not to come with mee into Babel, tarie still: beholde, all the lande is before thee: whither it seemeth good, and conuenient for thee to goe, thither goe.
Ngem ita kitaem! Winayawayaanka itan manipud kadagiti kawar nga adda kadagiti imam. No iti panagkitam ket nasayaat a kumuyogka kaniak a mapan idiay Babilonia, umayka, ket aywananka. Ngem no iti panagkitam ket saan a nasayaat a kumuyogka kaniak idiay Babilonia, saanmo ngarud nga aramiden. Kumitaka iti entero a daga iti sangoanam. Mapanka iti sadinoman a kayatmo a papanan.”
5 For yet he was not returned: therefore he said, Returne to Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam, the sonne of Shaphan, whom the King of Babel hath made gouernour ouer all the cities of Iudah, and dwell with him among the people, or goe wheresoeuer it pleaseth thee to goe. So the chiefe stewarde gaue him vitailes and a rewarde, and let him goe.
Idi saan a simmungbat ni Jeremias, kinuna ni Nebuzaradan, “Mapanka kenni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam a putot ni Safan, a dinutokan ti ari ti Babilonia a mangimaton kadagiti siudad ti Juda. Makipagnaedka kenkuana a kaduam dagiti tattao wenno mapanka iti sadinoman a kayatmo a papanan.” Inikkan isuna ti pangulo dagiti agbanbantay iti ari iti taraon ken sagut, ket pinalubosanna isuna a pumanaw.
6 Then went Ieremiah vnto Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and dwelt there with him among the people that were left in the lande.
Napan ngarud ni Jeremias kenni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam, idiay Mizpa. Nakipagnaed isuna kenkuana a kaduana dagiti tattao a nabati iti daga.
7 Nowe when all the captaines of the hoste, which were in the fieldes, euen they and their men heard, that the King of Babel had made Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam gouernour in the land, and that he had committed vnto him, men, and women, and children, and of the poore of the lande, that were not caried away captiue to Babel,
Ita, dagiti dadduma a mangidadaulo kadagiti suldado a Judio nga adda pay laeng idiay away-isuda ken dagiti tattaoda - ket nadamagda a dinutokan ti ari ti Babilonia ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam, nga agbalin a gobernador iti entero a daga. Nadamagda pay a dinutokan ni Nebucadnesar ni Gedalias a mangimaton kadagiti lallaki, babbai, ken ubbing, a kakukurapayan a tattao iti daga, dagidiay saan a naipan a kas balud idiay Babilonia.
8 Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, euen Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, and Iohanan, and Ionathan the sonnes of Kareah, and Seraiah the sonne of Tanehumeth, and the sonnes of Ephai, the Netophathite, and Iezaniah the sonne of Maachathi, they and their men.
Napanda ngarud kenni Gedalias idiay Mizpa. Dagitoy a lallaki ket ni Ismael a putot ni Netanias; ni Johanan ken ni Jonatan, a putot ni Karea; ni Seraias a putot ni Tanhumet; dagiti lallaki a putot ni Efai a taga-Netofa; ken ni Jezanias a taga-Maaca-ken dagiti soldadoda.
9 And Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam, the sonne of Shaphan sware vnto them, and to their men, saying, Feare not to serue the Caldeans: dwell in the lande, and serue the King of Babel, and it shall be well with you.
Nagsapata ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam a putot ni Safan kadakuada ken kadagiti tattaoda, ket kinunana kadakuada, “Saankayo nga agbuteng nga agserbi kadagiti opisial a Caldeo. Agnaedkayo iti daga ket agserbikayo iti ari ti Babilonia ket awanto ti pakaan-anoanyo.
10 As for me, Beholde, I will dwell at Mizpah to serue the Caldeans, which will come vnto vs: but you, gather you wine, and sommer fruites, and oyle, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities, that ye haue taken.
Ket kitaenyo, agnanaedak idiay Mizpa tapno makisinnarak kadagiti Caldeo nga immay kadatayo. Isu nga agurnongkayo iti arak, bungbunga a maapit iti tiempo ti kalgaw, ken lana ket idulinyo kadagiti pagkargaanyo. Agnaedkayo kadagiti siudad a sinakupyo.”
11 Likewise when all the Iewes that were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the King of Babel had left a remnant of Iudah, and that he had set ouer them Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan,
Ket nadamag dagiti amin a Judio idiay Moab, Ammon, ken Edom, ken iti tunggal daga a pinalubosan iti ari ti Babilonia nga agtalinaed dagiti nabatbati a tattao iti Juda, ket dinutokanna ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam a putot ni Safan a mangituray kadakuada.
12 Euen all the Iewes returned out of all places where they were driuen, and came to the land of Iudah to Gedaliah vnto Mizpah, and gathered wine and sommer fruites, very much.
Isu a nagsubli dagiti Judio manipud kadagiti lugar a nakaiwarawaraanda. Nagsublida iti daga ti Juda, kenni Gedalias idiay Mizpa. Nangurnongda iti nakaad-adu nga arak ken bungbunga iti tiempo ti kalgaw.
13 Moreouer Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaines of the hoste, that were in the fieldes, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,
Ni Johanan a putot ni Karea ken dagiti amin a mangidadaulo kadagiti armada idiay away ket napan kenni Gedalias idiay Mizpa.
14 And said vnto him, Knowest thou not that Baalis the King of the Ammonites hath sent Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah to slay thee? But Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam beleeued them not.
Kinunada kenkuana, “Ammom kadi nga imbaon ni Baalis nga ari dagiti tattao ti Ammon ni Ismael a putot ni Nethanias tapno papatayennaka?” Ngem saan a namati ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikim kadakuada.
15 Then Iohanan the sonne of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me goe, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it. Wherefore should he kill thee, that all the Iewes, which are gathered vnto thee, shoulde be scattered, and the remnant in Iudah perish?
Isu a ni Johanan a putot ni Karea, kinatungtongna iti nalimed ni Gedalias idiay Mizpa ket kinunana, “Palubosannak a mapan mangpapatay kenni Ismael a putot ni Netanias. Awanto ti mangpanunot a siak ti nangpapatay kenkuana. Apay koma a papatayennaka? Apay a palubosam a mawarawara ti entero a Juda a naguummong kenka ken mapukaw dagiti nabatbati a tattao ti Juda?”
16 But Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam said vnto Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, Thou shalt not doe this thing: for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael.
Ngem kinuna ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam kenni Johanan a putot ni Karea, “Saamo nga aramiden daytoy a banag, ta agul-ulbodka maipapan kenni Ismael.”
