Jeremiah 38

1 Then Shephatiah the sonne of Mattan, and Gedaliah the sonne of Pashur, and Iucal the sonne of Shelemiah, and Pashur the sonne of Malchiah, heard the wordes that Ieremiah had spoken vnto all the people, saying,

Unya si Sephatias ang anak nga lalake ni Mathan, ug si Gedalias ang anak nga lalake ni Pashur, ug si Jucal ang anak nga lalake ni Selemias, ug si Pashur, ang anak nga lalake ni Malchias, nakadungog sa mga pulong nga gisulti ni Jeremias sa tibook katawohan, nga nagaingon:

2 Thus sayth the Lord, He that remaineth in this citie, shall dye by the sworde, by the famine and by the pestilence: but hee that goeth foorth to the Caldeans, shall liue: for he shall haue his life for a praye, and shall liue.

Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Kadtong mopabilin niining ciudara mamatay pinaagi sa espada, pinaagi sa gutom, ug pinaagi sa kamatay; apan kadtong moadto sa mga Caldeahanon mabuhi, ug ang iyang kinabuhi mahimong ingon sa usa ka tukbonon nganha kaniya, ug mabuhi siya.

3 Thus sayth the Lord, This citie shall surely be giuen into the hand of the King of Babels armie, which shall take it.

Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Kining ciudara sa pagkamatuod igahatag ngadto sa kamot sa kasundalohan sa hari sa Babilonia, ug iyang maagaw kini.

4 Therefore the Princes sayd vnto the King, We beseech you, let this man be put to death: for thus hee weakeneth the hands of the men of warre that remaine in this citie, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such wordes vnto them: for this man seeketh not the wealth of this people, but the hurt.

Unya ang mga principe ming-ingon sa hari: Kami nangpakilooy kanimo, ipapatay kining tawohana: sanglit siya nagapaluya sa mga kamot sa mga tawong manggugubat nga nanagpabilin niining ciudara, ug sa mga kamot sa tibook katawohan, sa pagsulti nianang tanan nga mga pulong kanila: kay kining tawohana wala mangita sa kaayohan niining katawohan, kondili sa ilang kadautan.

5 Then Zedekiah the King sayd, Behold, he is in your hands, for ye King can denie you nothing.

Ug si Sedechias ang hari miingon: Ania karon, siya anaa sa inyong kamot; kay ang hari dili mao kadtong makabuhat ug bisan unsa batok kaninyo.

6 Then tooke they Ieremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the sonne of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let downe Ieremiah with coards: and in the dungeon there was no water but myre: so Ieremiah stacke fast in the myre.

Unya gikuha nila si Jeremias ug gibalhog siya sa gahong nga bilanggoan ni Malchias, ang anak nga lalake sa hari, nga didto sa sawang sa bilanggoan: ug ilang gitonton si Jeremias sa mga pisi. Ug sa sulod sa gahong walay tubig, kondili kalapukan lamang: ug si Jeremias nahaunlod sa kalapukan.

7 Now when Ebed-melech ye blacke More one of ye Eunuches, which was in the kings house, heard that they had put Ieremiah in the dungeon (then the King sate in the gate of Beniamin)

Karon sa pagkadungog ni Ebedmelech nga Etiopiahanon, ang usa ka eunuco nga diha sa balay sa hari, nga ilang gibutang sa gahong nga bilanggoan si Jeremias: (ang hari nagalingkod sa ganghaan ni Benjamin),

8 And Ebed-melech went out of the Kings house, and spake to the King, saying,

Si Ebed-melech migula sa balay sa hari, ug misulti sa hari, nga nagaingon:

9 My lorde the King, these men haue done euill in all that they haue done to Ieremiah the Prophet, whom they haue cast into the dungeon, and he dyeth for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the citie.

Ginoo ko nga hari, kining mga tawo nakabuhat ug dautan sa tanan nga ilang gihimo kang Jeremias nga manalagna, nga ilang gitambog sa gahong nga bilanggoan; ug siya himalatyon na tungod sa kagutom sa dapit diin siya karon mahimutang; kay wala nay tinapay sa ciudad.

10 Then the King commanded Ebed-melech the blacke More, saying, Take from hence thirtie men with thee, and take Ieremiah the Prophet out of the dungeon before he dye.

Unya ang hari nagsugo kang Ebed-melech nga Etiopiahanon, nga nagaingon: Pagkuha gikan didto ug katloan ka tawo uban kanimo, ug kuhaon mo si Jeremias nga manalagna gikan sa gahong nga bilanggoan sa dili pa siya mamatay.

11 So Ebed-melech tooke the men with him and went to the house of the King vnder the treasurie, and tooke there olde rotten ragges, and olde worne cloutes, and let them downe by coards into the dungeon to Ieremiah.

Busa si Ebed-melech nagdala sa mga tawo uban kaniya, ug nangadto sila sa balay sa hari ilalum sa tipiganan sa bahandi, ug mingkuha sila didto ug mga nuog nga panapton ug dunot nga mga saput, ug gitonton kini pinaagi sa pisi sa gahong sa bilanggoan ngadto kang Jeremias.

12 And Ebed-melech the blacke More sayde vnto Ieremiah, Put now these olde rotten ragges and worne, vnder thine arme holes, betweene the coards. And Ieremiah did so.

Ug si Ebed-melech nga Etiopiahanon miingon kang Jeremias: Ibutang mo karon kining mga nuog ug dunot nga mga saput ilalum sa imong mga ilok ilalim sa mga pisi. Ug sa ingon niini si Jeremias mituman.

13 So they drewe vp Ieremiah with coards and tooke him vp out of the dungeon, and Ieremiah remained in the court of the prison.

Busa gibitad nila si Jeremias pinaagi sa mga pisi, ug gipagawas nila gikan sa gahong nga bilanggoan: ug si Jeremias mipabilin sa sawang sa bilanggoan.

14 Then Zedekiah the King sent, and tooke Ieremiah the Prophet vnto him, into the thirde entrie that is in the House of the Lord, and the King sayd vnto Ieremiah, I wil aske thee a thing: hide nothing from me.

Unya si Sedechias nga hari nagpasugo ug nagpakuha kang Jeremias nga manalagna ngadto kaniya sa ikatolong tukmaan nga diha sa balay ni Jehova: ug ang hari miingon kang Jeremias: Ako mangutana kanimo ug usa ka butang; ayaw paglimod sa bisan unsa kanako.

15 Then Ieremiah sayd to Zedekiah, If I declare it vnto thee, wilt not thou slay me? and if I giue thee counsell, thou wilt not heare me.

Unya si Jeremias miingon kang Sedechias: Kong ipahayag ko kana kanimo, dili ba gayud patyon mo ako? ug kong motambag ako kanimo, dili man ikaw magpatalinghug kanako.

16 So the King sware secretly vnto Ieremiah, saying, As the Lord liueth that made vs these soules, I will not slay thee, nor giue thee into the hands of those men that seeke thy life.

Busa si Sedechias nga hari nanumpa sa tago kang Jeremias, nga nagaingon: Ingon nga ang Dios buhi, nga nagbuhat kanato niining kalag, dili ko patyon ikaw, ni itugyan ko ikaw niining katawoahan na nangita sa imong kinabuhi.

17 Then sayd Ieremiah vnto Zedekiah, Thus sayth the Lord God of hostes, the God of Israel, If thou wilt goe foorth vnto the King of Babels princes, then thy soule shall liue, and this citie shall not be burnt vp with fire, and thou shalt liue, and thine house.

Unya miingon si Jeremias kang Sedechias: Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova, ang Dios sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel: Kong moadto ka sa principe sa hari sa Babilonia, nan ang imong kalag mabuhi, ug kining ciudara dili sunogon sa kalayo; ug ikaw mabuhi, ug ang imong panimalay:

18 But if thou wilt not go forth to the King of Babels princes, then shall this citie be giuen into the hand of ye Caldeans, and they shall burne it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hands.

Apan kong ikaw dili moadto sa mga principe sa hari sa Babilonia, nan kining ciudara ihatag ngadto sa kamot sa mga Caldeahanon, ug ilang sunogon kini sa kalayo, ug ikaw dili makagawas gikan sa ilang kamot.

19 And Zedekiah the King sayde vnto Ieremiah, I am carefull for the Iewes that are fled vnto the Caldeans, least they deliuer mee into their hands, and they mocke me.

Ug si Sedechias nga hari miingon kang Jeremias: Ako mahadlok sa mga Judio nga nangahulog ngadto sa mga Caldeahanon, tingali unya ilang itugyan ako ngadto sa ilang kamot, ug magabiaybiay sila kanako.

20 But Ieremiah sayd, They shall not deliuer thee: hearken vnto the voyce of the Lord, I beseech thee, which I speake vnto thee: so shall it be well vnto thee, and thy soule shall liue.

Apan si Jeremias miingon: sila dili magatugyan kanimo. Tumana, gipangamuyo ko kanimo, ang tingog ni Jehova, nianang gisulti ko kanimo: busa maayo kini alang kanimo, ug ang imong kalag mabuhi.

21 But if thou wilt refuse to go forth, this is the worde that the Lord hath shewed me.

Apan kong ikaw magdumili sa pagadto, mao kini ang pulong nga gipakita ni Jehova kanako:

22 And beholde, all the women that are left in the King of Iudahs house, shalbe brought forth to the King of Babels princes: and those women shall say, Thy friends haue perswaded thee, and haue preuailed against thee: thy feete are fastened in the myre, and they are turned backe.

Ania karon, ang tanang mga babaye nga nanghibilin sa balay sa hari sa Juda pagadad-on ngadto sa mga principe sa hari sa Babilonia, ug kadtong mga babayehana manag-ingon: Ang imong mga suod nga higala naglimbong kanimo, ug nakadaug kanimo: karon nga ang imong mga tiil nanghiunlod sa kalapukan, sila mingsibog.

23 So they shall bring out all thy wiues, and thy children to the Caldeans, and thou shalt not escape out of their hands, but shalt be taken by the hand of the King of Babel: and this citie shalt thou cause to be burnt with fire.

Ug pagadad-on nila ang tanan ninyong mga asawa ug ang inyong mga anak ngadto sa mga Caldeahanon; ug dili ka makagawas gikan sa ilang kamot, kondili na hidakpan ka sa kamot sa hari sa Babilonia: ug imong ipasunog kining ciudara sa kalayo.

24 Then said Zedekiah vnto Ieremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

Unya miingon si Sedechias kang Jeremias: Ayaw pagpahibalo kang bisan kinsa niining mga pulonga, ug dili ka mamatay.

25 But if ye princes vnderstand that I haue talked with thee, and they come vnto thee, and say vnto thee, Declare vnto vs nowe, what thou hast sayde vnto the King, hide it not from vs, and we will not slay thee: also what the King sayd vnto thee,

Apan kong ang mga principe makadungog nga ako nakigsulti kanimo, ug sila manganhi kanimo, ug manag-ingon kanimo: Ipahayag kanamo karon kong unsay gisulti mo sa hari; ayaw kana itago kanamo, ug ikaw dili namo patyon: ingon man usab unsay giingon sa hari kanimo:

26 Then shalt thou say vnto them, I humbly besought the King that he would not cause me to returne to Iehonathans house, to die there.

Nan ingnon mo sila: Gipahayag ko ang akong pangaliyupo sa atubangan sa hari, aron ako dili niya pabalikon sa balay ni Jonathan, aron sa pagpakamatay didto.

27 Then came all the princes vnto Ieremiah and asked him. And he tolde them according to all these wordes that the King had commanded: so they left off speaking with him, for the matter was not perceiued.

Unya miduol ang tanang mga principe kang Jeremias, ug nangutana kaniya; ug siya nagsugilon kanila sumala niining tanan nga mga pulong nga gisugo kaniya sa hari. Busa sila minghunong sa pagpakigsulti kaniya; kay wala nila makita ang katin-awan.

28 So Ieremiah abode still in the court of the prison, vntill the day that Ierusalem was taken: and he was there, when Ierusalem was taken.

Busa si Jeremias mipuyo sa sawang sa bilanggoan hangtud sa adlaw sa pagkaagaw sa Jerusalem.
